|Description=Giles is a contrast in many different ways. At first glance, many see the bookworm and stop there. His clothing is usually quite proper, consisting of a suit with a sweater or vest, a tie, and a fine set of wingtips. Nothing less would be appropriate for the bespectacled man. But then one might look past the studious nature. They may see the 6'1" frame that has broad shoulders, his suit not needing fake shoulder pads to highlight the strength that appears to be there. Then there's the studious gaze, the eye contact; unlike many bookworms he does not shy away from a direct glance but instead meets it, directly, assessing the bearer of said exchange. His accent is decidedly British, and like most Brits he can be incredibly proper and precise in his speech, until of course it is time not to be and then a presence comes out, a gravitas, that requires attention. So...this is Giles and his many layers.

|History=Giles' history is a path of most resistance. For a long time he knew exactly what he was going to be - A Watcher. At least, if you hear his parents tell the tale, that was it. He was destined to be one of the rare guardians of those who keep humanity from falling into the precipice of Hell (Big-H Hell). Of course, like any typical teenager with his life path laid out for him, he rebelled. He chose another path, using all the talents and knowledge and resources he had to then apply it in a completely different and broken way - a way that led to the death of someone close to him. His folly seen, and perhaps his ego mollified for the time, he slunk back home and eventually joined the Watcher's Council. However, finding his way in this role hasn't been easy, either. Giles is continually defying the Watcher's Council in his efforts to protect Buffy and not only train her but being a part of the solution, something that goes against what a Watcher does: After all, Slayers slay and Watchers...<br><br>Giles is a musician, a magician, a teacher, a seeker, a father figure and a friend and, when truly needed, the safe place amidst all the chaos of Sunnydale.

|Personality=Giles is a bit of a fun personality in that he's one part clever, one part witty, one part sarcastic, and one part not afraid to say exactly what he thinks. His demeanor to some may come off as hesitant but his nature, for those who get past the first glance, is one of compassion and the belief that while humanity is deeply flawed, it is capable of greatness.
