Date of Scene: 30 November 2019
Location: Central Park, Manhattan
Synopsis: A little jog in the park for Captain Marvel, a chance to be just themselves for Ivory.
Cast of Characters: Ivory, Captain Marvel (Danvers)

Ivory has posed:
Early mornings aren't the time Central Park is full, especially in the dark time of the year and after a thunderstorm the night before. Only a few people passed through the wet parkland, confined to the gravel roads, the sky above the sick greyish blue that reminded of a television turned to a dead channel from the city's neverdying lights. Among the few that used the park now were maybe a dealer or two - like the skinhead in the trenchcoat over at the pond - and the occasional office hero that tried to keep fit by doing a very early morning jog through the park before taking a shower and getting into the suit and then off to work. And then there was Ivory, the white hair for once not confined in their usual ponytail but instead letting it flow, some kind of... cat earband tucked into it to keep it at bay maybe? Well, if, they wouldn't jump at some noises to follow them, some polished brass earstuds blinking in the light from the moon. Star of Hala.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
It's difficult to remember the importance of exercise when you fly everywhere most of the time. Actually, willing herself to get down on her feet and walk or run hasn't been Carol's strong suit ever since she learned to fly. But it's a duty like any other, and she adheres to it.

She doesn't have much to fear from the early hours of New York City - even if somebody were to give her trouble, it's unlikely they'd be anything more than the briefest nuisance. Even in the cold weather she wears the sort of exercise gear one would reserve for the warmer months. A USAF t-shirt and a pair of loose-fitting shorts that run down to her mid-thigh - its exercise gear, not a fashion show. Her blonde hair is done up in a tight bun with a few flyaway strands, and despite the running there doesn't appear to be any sweat or signs of discomfort on her face.

Ivory has posed:
The sound of wet gravel getting crushed rythmically has those ears swivel, the star shaped earrings turning, gleaming up golden in the little light of the park, then the head and body follows. The white hair seems to form a silver shining around the head as the body spin around, only missing falling snow to be surreal, or at least that's what would hollywood make you want to beliee such looks like. In fact, it was nowhere near as much light from hidden spots and some 10 hours of carefully applying blur filters - because they were missing - to give that otherworldly glow to hair. Nope, just silver hair folling the headspin, no music from the off, no glow.

Ivory tilts the head some as they watch Carol approach, the ears following the feet like tracking radio dishes, then a smile creeps into the face. "Oh my, Miss Danvers? Up so early?" they greet as the captain comes within earshot, lifting a hand to greet. "I see you like the copy of your unit shirts, or at least this one."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol pauses when she hears the voice, and it doesn't take her more than a moment to pinpoint where she knows Ivory from. She nods her head, pulling out the hem of the shirt and looking down at the design printed on the front of it.

"Yeah, I like all of them," she agrees, "They've pretty much become my workout gear, now. Don't get much of a chance to wear them any other time - I've got half of them here, and half across the country in Starling. Thanks again, by the way."

Ivory has posed:
"It's really no problem, Miss Danvers. I mean, I got those for them!" Ivory notes, pointing to the earstuds in their faline ears poking out of the hair. "I guess you wear that uniform of yours more often than anything else, but that's the purpose and pain of a uniform, isn't it?"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I suppose so," Carol agrees with a nod, pausing and instead beginning to stretch to keep muscles active and loose, "It's just easier to operate with it on. People know who you are, know what to respect. I mean, some people - like you - recognize me anyway but in most cases it's the suit they're looking at."

"So, what are you doing out here? Favorite hang out of yours?"

Ivory has posed:
Ivory chuckles a little. "Sure I didn't recognise the shirt first?" Those cat ears jumo a little as she closes the distance a little, offering a smile. "Well, it's a night of a full moon, and it's not entirely covered in clouds. So I thought I take a stroll... or I am just on the way home from having a couple hours of fun over in a coupe clubs and taking a way that allows me to all cat out." They chuckle, spinning around a moment, the winter coat with the cat pawing for a snowflake on the back coming to view a moment or two. And a tip of tail peeking out under it.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Ahh," Carol says quietly, a non-commital sort of response as she pulls one arm over her chest and stretches out the muscles there, "This is pretty much the only time I have to myself. There's all sorts of business during the day, but the night time belongs to a ... different sort of 'superhero', I guess. I figure it's best to leave it to them, y'know?"

Ivory has posed:
Ivory chuckle as they poke their own nose, still smiling. "Maybe villains and such should sign a ceasefire for the holidays and keep all terrorising at bay unless they are mandatorily needed to keep some hero happy? I guess every hero would want the holidays off."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"It'd be nice if it worked that way, but I'm almost certain it doesn't," Carol laughs, "The problem is, most of these violent psychos who are causing this kind of mayhem? They think they're right and we're wrong. That's the great difficulty of it all, really - they're not doing it for the sake of being bad, they're trying to help in their own, twisted way."

Ivory has posed:
"Well, truely not all of them are like that..." Ivory notes, never having faced an unleashed suerpsycho or, heaven forbid, some space monster that just wanted to eat earth for it was a tasty morsel. "But who am I to judge? I'm just another NYC Cat-person that just happens to wear our allstar's badge as earrings and makes cute, non genderconform clothing with cats."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol can't help but grin at that, nodding her head appreciatively, "Well, everyone's got something to say - and you make that sound like you're not occupying a fairly unique sort of niche here. Not that that's a bad thing, of course. Individuality is what makes Earth great - you should see some of the other planets up there? Talk about conformity."

Ivory has posed:
Ivory laughtes up as they wink at the captain. "Want to know a secret?" they tease, lifting a finger to their lips. "But you got to swear you'll tell no human."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"You know, thinking on it? There are remarkably few 'humans' in my day-to-day," Carol grins, but nods her head with a degree of solemnity, "You've got my word. I won't tell a soul."

Ivory has posed:
With a giggle, Ivory licks over her finger and taps it against their nose. "Ok, no inhabitant of earth that could pass as human." Then their body started to shrink together and seeming to vanish in what now really seemed to be a gleam of moonlight passing through the clouds. A moment later, Ivory seemed gone. Instead, a white persian cat sitting on the floor and looking up at Carol with that eternal cat smile, the fuzzy fur standing a little. "Meow."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Well, that's something," Carol remarks, eyes wide as she watches Ivory go from person to cat like it was nothing. Sure, she'd seen shape-changers in the past but it was still rare enough of an ability to be surprising. She crouches down a little to get on eye-level with the cat, tilting her head to one side, "Sorry, I don't have any treats."

Ivory has posed:
Ivory stretched the body some, then made two little steps to brush the nose agaist the Captain's hand, churring a little, those earrings - hey, they had been lapel pins before Ivory remodeled them - still in the ears of that cat.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"If this is your way of trying to live in my apartment, you've got another thing coming," Carol laughs, petting the furry critter beneath the chin, "I'm not home nearly enough to look after a pet - even one who can turn into a person and take care of themselves."

She sighs, rising up to her feet again and lifting her legs at the knee to stretch them, "I've got to get back to my run, but it was nice to see you again."

Ivory has posed:
Whatever magic did turn Ivory into cat, they trigger again to turn back, chuckling as they struggle back to their feet. Something is distinctively different. Those swiveling cat ears are gone and instead, human ears are back in fashion. And somehow the body seems a little bit different too. Wait, a couple moments ago, ivory might have qualified as an effeminate man. Now, it was more of a tomboyish woman.

With a chuckle they offer a little wink back. "Oh, I fund my own home, but I take that as an offer to try to crash at your place once in a while, if that's what you wanted to say."
