Cast of Characters: Oracle, Jim Gordon

Oracle has posed:
So.

There was danger afoot. Bruce Wayne was dead, and those in the know might know that that meant a problem for Batfolk. Whether or not Jim was one of those folks, there was another. There was a BATGIRL.

And Jim would find a message, stabbed into the wall of his office with a batrang one evening. Come here, come alone.

And so here, in the dead of night - in a little alleyway near the Ace Chemical company, Barbara Gordon - aka the BATGIRL - waits for Jim Gordon's arrival, peering over the edge of the building she looks over.

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim Gordon is in one of the last places he'd want to be normally, but considering what just happened.....he must. In a trenchcoat, Jim walks down the alley with his revolver in his right hand. too many accidents lately. he doesn't want an 'accident' to happen to him.

Oracle has posed:
There was a moment. Barbara sees her father, and there was something at the edges of her features, beneath the bat-mask. She saw him tense - nervous, frightened. And in some way, she was responsible for a lot of that, with this creepy midnight roundevous.

    Oh, well.

    KACHUNK!

That was the sound of a hook embedding in one of the brick sides of the building, and the Batgirl grapples down, lifting up one of her hands. "Hey, uh... Commisioner Gordon. I know you're expecting the other guy..." Batgirl had a surprisingly deep voice. She was trying to disguise it. "But I think he's busy with something else. And this is important, right?"

    Pleasedon'tshootme, pleasedon'tshootme...

Jim Gordon has posed:
And just as Batgirl predicted, Jim Gordon had his revolver up and pointed AT Batgirl as she came down. "ugh. I swear you and Batman are gonna give me a heart attack." he says putting his gun away, for the moment. "You're the one who wanted to meet. Could've been just as good on the GCPD building. And considering Bruce Wayne is on his way to the morgue, I can only imagine what you've got in mind, batgirl."

Oracle has posed:
Batgirl pauses a few moments, keeping her hands up. "It's part of the whole Bat thing, you know? There's no..." she was letting her voice get too normal. She clears it, and deepens her voice again. "...there's no fun in bein' stuck in the shadows all the time, if you can't... you know. Jump out of them every so often."

    A beat.

"Yes, I know Bruce Wayne is on his way to the morgue. And... mostly... I wanted to know - I know you work with Batman more often, but I /really/ need to see the body. It's important - have you had a chance to inspect it?"

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim Gordon says, "Not yet. We still have to get out coroner on it so far. I don't even have anything on the preliminaries yet, or the crime scene." He then sighs as he leans against a wall. "I did read his file though. Poor guy, and I'm not talking monetary. If I was him, I'd want to live life too, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he drank himself to death, but I don't think it's suicide." He then looks to Batgirl. "And I'm serious. His parents were killed right in front of him.....while he was spared. I'm actually surprised he's running an industry rather than being in Arkham himself.""

Oracle has posed:
"Maybe it was his father. You know. Dads can have good influence like that," says BATGIRL, with a brilliant smile. A beat. Her bright blue eyes cast around the alleyway. "But... I have reason to believe it isn't suicide either. I have to wonder if it's even him - you think you can trust your coroner?" says Batgirl.

On her grapple line was a little loop - and she had her foot stuck in the loop. She was playing with the loop with her toes kinda idly, as she watches Jim.

"Because I have to wonder if it's even Bruce at all. I wish... Batman were around."

Jim Gordon has posed:
"All I've got so far is a body that looks like Bruce Wayne in the morgue. Door 1294. That's at first glance. We haven't had a chance to check the body yet, and we have to keep it there until the coroner gets there. We haven't been able to get a crime scene team to the area, but it's taped off. And honestly, I don't 'trust' anyone in the GCPD, unless my life benefits theirs more." he then looks at Batgirl. "I'm assuming you know how to get to the Coroner's office and area in the GCPD, and how to get in there from the roof."

Oracle has posed:
"Yeah." says Batgirl, with a wider grin.

Definitely different from Batman. "Sounds like it would be smart to get ahead of the GCPD teams then - at the crime scene, /and/ at the morgue." A beat then. "And hey, I can figure it out. I know I'm dressed like a bat, but - I /promise/ I'm super sneaky when the situation calls for it."

Another moment.

"You know, if you wanted to check out Wayne Manor - does your job let you do much field work anymore?"

Jim Gordon has posed:
"I'll have to take a look after I get a bit of sleep. Hopefully without Bullock with me. Fat slob needs to lay off the damned doughnuts." Gordon's voice is grumbling now. "I know you do these things at night, so get the crime scene fully looked at, and Wayne's body at the morgue before I go to look at Wayne's mansion tomorrow....."

Oracle has posed:
"Hey, commishioner - Batgirl is on the case!" says Babs, grinning a little wider. And then, in the next moment... with a wooshing of air and cape, Barbara Gordon was at the roof of the building, clambering over it. Considering it was a dark rope, it might be surprising how she did it, but...

She didn't wait for him to turn around before vanishing, like SOMEONE ELSE might.

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim watches as Batgirl grapnels away. "Ugh. I need a cigarette." he says before he starts to walk his way back home.....and to sleep.
