Synopsis: Aerin has an appointment with Kitty
Cast of Characters: Aerin Mifflin, Shadowcat

Aerin Mifflin has posed:
Aerin has made an appointment to discuss a concern with another student. She knocks on the doorframe peeking her head in "Is right now still a good time Ms. Pryde?"

Aerin Mifflin has posed:
Aerin looks behind her to Kitty "Yes, I had made an appointment? I wanted to discuss some observations and concerns I had made about a student, and a concern I had about his own safety and the safety of others."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty nods and looks to Aerin, "Of course, come on in. I'm at my desk so please, take a seat and know I won't say a word about any of this" Kitty says clearing a spot on her desk, just in case anything needs to go there.

Aerin Mifflin has posed:
Aerin nods closing the door behind her. She settles into a seat crossing her legs and flipping her hair up to pool in her lap. She's wearing her signature black turtleneck and bluejeans. "I was wondering if you were aware of the new student Jeremy's particular profile yet? Everyone has a story coming here specifically I suppose, and while I don't know his - nor do I need to be informed of it by him, or any others - do you happen to be up to date on his particular story and set of circumstances?"

Shadowcat has posed:
"Ah, hm....I'm not at liberty to explain details" Kitty says. Nott really a yes, not really a no, but if Aerin gets how schools work she can probably read between the lines. "As faculty here yes I've seen his file but I won't go into detail" Kitty says, but she does nod as if saying she's up to date.

Aerin Mifflin has posed:
Aerin nods softly. "Yes of course, I don't expect you to divulge any details, nor am I looking for any. I'll say I was here when he first arrived with Shannon, whom seems to know him better than I. I met him in the computer lab and had a chat with him and came across a few troubling points of interest."

She rests her hands on her her knee as she recounts "He's reacted negatively to touching that is unexpected, but in an exercise to see if he could determine good touch to bad touch, he can touch others in a positive manner and accept a positive touch, such as on the top of the head when he sees it coming. He's recounted being bullied which might account for such a negative initial reaction. There's also a deafened sense of self - he prefers to think of himself as a persona called 'The Signal' where he can essentially be a hero, instead of being simply Jeremy, he seems entirely invested in this idea. And lastly he's completely convinced that government forces in europe and elsewhere are all conspiring against mutants, and has these conspiray theories. He went to show me proof on the internet, with the computers which I told him not to. Someone is always conspiring against mutants. Always have, always will, and if you concern yourself with it on that level you'll not be able to rest, have a normal life. I'm concerned that he might trend towards becoming a fanatic or zealot. I've encouraged him to seek a sense of self, and told him I'd like to talk more to Jeremy, but was uninterested in talking with 'The Signal'. I'm concerned however that if he's accessing information - especially if taken at face value, dangerous hacked-kind of government information - the internet always leaves a trail. Even with powers, it could be tracked to him eventually, and if he's using school resources to the school. So I'm concerned that he may be inadvertantly putting himself or others in harms way without fully understanding the consequences."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty listenns, making mental notes, a whole lotta notes in her mind as she nods. "I do understand your concerns, and I agree with some of them but we have faculty here who can, if the student wishes, help him out" Kitty says. Yay for diplomacy. It's not quite a no, shut up, more a you're right but we're going by what is in place.

"Or putting it another way Kitty has to strike a balance between her own personal opinion and her professional opinion. So far, so good, Kit Kat...

"I've not run across him yet but I feel like if anything, everyone should just be themselves around him, though, if he wants to be a kid, or whatever he wants, don't try to change him"

Aerin Mifflin has posed:
Aerin hmmns. "Well, I've had a conversation with Shannon since she seems to know him better to confirm some of my observations. There are certain things that we can do as students, and certain things you can do as the trained professionals. I've made it clear to him I'm interested in knowing Jeremy, but I have no particular interest in getting to know The Signal, or any kind of particular fanatic. My conclusion has been to encourage him when he decides to be an individual and think and act as an individual, and not feed in if he acts like something that is a plural - like something that is everywhere. So that is how I've decided that I'm going to try to support him. So I wanted staff here to know my observations, potential security concern, and my particular approach."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty listens quietly, just jotting down notes as shee listens to Aerin. Kitty shakes her head watching across her desk though. "Just be yourself, right, and...." Kitty says and nods. "Just be yourself arond him. Anything else?" Kitty asks.

Aerin Mifflin has posed:
Aerin shakes her head as she rises "No, that is all. Thank you for your time, Ms. Pryde."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty smiles, "ah you're welcome, Aerin, you know where my door is if you need anything" she nods, gesturing to the office door.
