Date of Scene: 20 August 2020
Location: War Room - X-Men Base
Synopsis: Cyclops and Havok talk about security at the mansion. Havok wants death lasers and Shogun Warriors.
Cast of Characters: Havok, Cyclops

Havok has posed:
Havok (in costume) is found within the War Room. He's standing at one of the wall mounted work stations. His back is to the main exit to the hallway. On the screen in front of him is a file-manager like setup that's familiar to all of the X-Men. It's the 'mission log' folder tree. There are scores of mission folders that he's scrolling down through. Each file-folder that he scrolls to pulls up a series of files on the right hand of the screen. The first file is always a summary. Each file is the logs generated by the X-Men at the scene. He's looking at something from last year and muttering to himself.

Cyclops has posed:
The doors swish open to reveal Scott as he heads inside, holding a mug of steaming coffee in one hand. It's a black mug with white letters: 'Chuck's Favorite X-Man.' He got it as a way to rub the salt into Logan's eyes at times on a subtle level. It's also been stolen from him several times by the hairy Canuck. Though he may be a stoic, stick in the mud field leader, he has his moments of levity.

"Good morning, Alex. What are you looking at?" He asks as he steps up to his side, looking up towards the screen curiously.

Havok has posed:
Alex hears the door swishing open and turns to see his brother. He doesn't even bother with the pleasantries, instead, Alex says in a pseudo complimentary tone, "Seems that Jean finally got through to the kids that they shouldn't be bringing home strays." then he looks back at the screen that details a visit from the Asgardian God, Loki. His tone darkens, sardonically, "Instead, the strays just show up on their own volition. Seriously, Loki?"

He doesn't bother to segue or wait for a response, he just continues in a curious tone, "I've not seen any significant changes to the security around here since the Sentinel attacks. Or are those upgrades in another file system?"

Cyclops has posed:
Reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose, Scott lets out a sigh. "Yeah. Loki. Shannon seems to attract the crazies for whatever reason." He takes in a deep breath, then lets it out slowly as he looks at the computer files. "We haven't done much in the way of upgrades. Yet. It's a challenge to sneak those things past building codes." His lips give a small twitch of an amused smile. "I don't know how Charles does it. Put a hangar beneath the basketball court."

Lifting the mug upwards, he takes a quick sip of the coffee, then licks his lips. "Maybe you can be in charge of that? Put together a security plan with possible upgrades and I'll have Charles write a check. You're right though, we're overdue for it. The Sentinels is a wake up call, one that we needed."

Havok has posed:
There's a pause as Havok thinks about what was just offered by his brother. He looks back at Scott, then to the computer monitor, then back to Scott. "Hang on, what?" he asks. Then he clarifies as he turns his body to square up with Scott. Yet, not confrontationally, just giving his brother his full attention and intention. "Are you saying that we have to use general contractors now? What happened to the Shi'ar tech? I mean..." he looks around the room and adds, "...we're in the X-Mansion. This isn't the Motel 6. We should be able to handle everything on our own. Or, are you trying to be funny? Because funny really doesn't work for you, Scott. That ship sailed when you hit your head after jumping out of the airplane."

Cyclops has posed:
Taking a sip of his coffee, Scott raises his brows over his red Raybans. "Yes, we have a lot of Shi'ar technology in here. Limited technology that we do not have unlimited access to. What we have now, is what we have. We're a massive school that is seen by satellites, Google Maps. All of the great things that come with living in today's world of mobile technology. We can't just put rocket launchers on the front lawn without being noticed. I don't know about general contractors, but I need to speak with Charles and ask him who he was working with in the past. Him being away and spending time with Moira hasn't made him the most accessible these days." He takes another long sip of his coffee. "This isn't your way of saying you're not up to the challenge, are you?"

Havok has posed:
Havok is annoyed, but not with his brother. He's annoyed with life and what life has given them and the position that life has placed them in, not just as mutants, but as a resistance against the world's oppression, "Fuck the government. We know that they know that we know that they know that we are here. We need rocket launchers. We need death lasers. We need to shoot those satellites out of the sky.... Remember when dad showed up with the Starjammer? Sure, it's got stealth tech, just like the Blackbirds - even then one I wrecked. Yeah, the government knows. Especially when they sent the Sentinels here to take us out. Nimrod... Fucking Nimrod. Now, unless something's happened like 'Charlie mind-wiping the government' that I missed while I was gone. Otherwise, sure, I'm up for the challenge. I'll gladly draw up ideas to up the security. I may even invite one or two of the Shogun Warriors over to help with patrolling."

Cyclops has posed:
"Yeah, we know that the Government knows. But the common person doesn't know. We also just can't shoot GPS satellites out of the sky." Scott chuckles as he finishes his mug, then places it down. He reaches out and pats his brother on the shoulder. "I share your frustration and concern. It keeps me up at night that our own country did the bare minimum in helping to resolve the Sentinel situation. Perhaps we need to have a conversation with the Avengers about moving forward. Steve Rogers has always been straight with us."

"This world won't always be perfect. Humans will always fear what is clearly different from them. In their eyes, they see us as the Magnetos and Apocalypse' and Mister Sinisters. They don't see Jubilee, or Kitty Pryde, or Doug Ramsey. That is why we have to work as hard as we can to ensure that Xavier's dream comes closer to reality. That we can prove to everyone that we are not a danger. Perhaps we just need to work on some type of public relations. Put a few members of our team on the Justice League, or the Avengers. One of the more camera friendly teams. Show mutants in a better light."

Havok has posed:
Alex represses his urge to argue the point. Instead, he lets out an annoyed grunt. "Yeah, you're right. And that 'Dream' is why I came back to this place and didn't rejoin the Acolytes. I've seen both sides and even living in that other reality made me realize that force isn't the way. I still like the idea of better measures to protect our home. I'll get on the concept designs and get with Forge on the implementation of it. I know he's always had good ideas in the past. I'm also sure he'd be interested in facilitating some of those ideas." He doesn't even touch on the Avengers topic. Too many other conflicting memories to keep it all straight.

Cyclops has posed:
"Good idea. You, Forge, and maybe Hank. I do strongly feel we are lacking in our ability to deal with medical situations. With our previous healers having moved on from the school, it leaves us with a couple of nurses, Hank and Shannon, whom I do not want to use in such a manner. Her powers aren't optimal for putting someone together who takes a laser blast to the chest. Perhaps we can have Forge work on some type of device that can help save lives easier, heal faster. Super bactine? I don't know." Scott says with a heavy, weighted breath. The type that drags one's shoulders down.

"But I'm glad you have something to keep you busy." He says as he gives his shoulder a light bump with his. "I know you'll come up with some creative ideas. Also, try and not give Hank too much of a headache, now that you're on his team. We both felt like his team could use some firepower and we know how much you love the field work."

Havok has posed:
He uses codenames because codenames are what a person uses when in the secret X-Men base, "Oh, Beast and I are good. Question; I know the auto-doc has been the fastest standard we can get for such medical emergencies. But. What happened to Elixir or Lifeguard? I know there was another healer. Can't recall who it was."

Cyclops has posed:
"Triage. That's the one you're thinking of. Elixir and Triage went to college. I think Life Guard found a guy on the west coast and moved." Scott says as he shrugs his shoulders upwards. "Just bad luck on our part I suppose. It is what it is. We'll just work with what we have for now until Hank and Forge can come up with something more sustaining. Auto Doc does a decent job." He picks up the empty coffee mug and gives it a wiggle in his direction. "I'm going to head back up and get a refill and some lunch. You coming or going to stare at this the rest of the day?"

Havok has posed:
Alex looks back at the screen and then across the room at another work station - tactical. He then notes to his brother, "I've got a few drills to do and it's getting close to purge time. I'll be up later on." He references the periodic need to purge himself of his plasma otherwise he'll have a meltdown. He breaks from the point on which he was standing and moves toward the tactical wall monitor. He notes, "I'll see you later."

Cyclops has posed:
"I'll see you later then. Let's do dinner tonight. You and I. We'll hit up Harry's and have burgers." Scott calls over his shoulder to his younger brother, giving him a genuine smile before he steps out into the hallway. He can be heard mumbling something along the lines of Victor shedding more than Hank these days. It's going to be a long afternoon for him.
