Hangin' Out in Bushwick
Date of Scene: 26 September 2020
Location: Bushwick (Mutant Town), Brooklyn
Synopsis: When Hawkeye has an issue with a grappling arrow, the heroic Nightcrawler arrives to save the day!
Cast of Characters: Hawkeye (Barton), Nightcrawler

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
" C'mon, Barton, " the archer self-berates himself, as he starts climbing up along the line.

All started well as normal. Go up the rooftop, get a vew of the surroundings in mutant town, especially the market square below where recent disturbing events were reported. After the primary view of the scene, Special Agent Barton decided to proceed with further investigation on the ground.

And from there, all went down the drain.

Actually, the special auto-recoiling grappling hook failed. Jammed mid-distance to the ground, leaving Clint hanging nine floors below the rooftop. Sure he could use another grappling-hook arrow, but seriously, how many of them are you expected to carry, when the one at hand was tested so many times and guaranteed to /never/ fail.

"This ain't gonna be my day, " he grunts, slowly climbing up. " Shit, eight more floors. "

Nightcrawler has posed:
That's when the possibly putrid smell of sulfur and brimstone might reach Clint's nose, and a difugre clings to the side of the building.

Unfortunately it is not your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but is a different wall-crawler typically found at night. A Nightcrawler, if you will.

Kurt's iridescent eyes as set on clint as he sits on a narrow ledge, one pair of toes curling beneath the window ledge to get a good grip as he holds on with one hand.

"Hallo, mein Freund!" he greets as cheerily as could be, then looks down, then tilts his head back and looks up.

"... in need of a hand?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The archer was just starting to consider balancing himself just enough to reach one of the windows, from which he could gain access to the building. Then what, knock at the window, maybe find someone /busy/ in their bedroom? Naw. With a sigh, shaking his head, Clint was just resuming his climbing up when /something/ or rather, someone appeared, just like that, poof, along the side of the building.

Naturally surprised at the sight, Clint quickly assesses the stranger. Pointed ears, glowing yellow eyes, teleporting. And being in mutant town. Best possible match.

"Wagner, Kurt, right?" Hawkeye replies, " Yeah, I wouldn't mind a hand. Rooftop. "
Hopefully, /no one/ will see him being helped, bad for his reputation.

Nightcrawler has posed:
"My reputation preceedes me!" Kurt replies with a smile, his tail curling a little as the demonic visage reaches out for Hawkeye's arm. "Going up!"

And in nearly an instant, and reeking again of sulfur (this time in poor Clint's nose from the teleport!), Clint would find himself on the roof.

He may find himself also particularly dizzy and a bit disorientated and nauseous, but probably not anything worse for wear.

Kurt himself is just wearing a light jacket, some jeans and a plain black T-shirt. Looks like he was just in town for some errands.

"Anything in particular that you were doing on the side of the building, or are you practicing to be the next Spider-Man?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
" Shit, that stinks, " is the automatic reply from Clint, as he tries to overcome the sulfur smell, " But thanks for the lift.". Dizziness, he can manage, but that odor, gaw. Hopefully, the discomfort quickly passes. Now back on the rooftop, the archer grabs the grappling hook, folding it back in position, and returns it to special pouch at his belt. The whole is accompanied by a few chosen curses at Stark and SHIELD technologies altogether, while he listens to Kurt.

"Yeah, " he then answers Kurt as he turns to lock eyes with the yellow-eyed elf. " I'm just looking around, kind of investigating, what happened here the other day. Where you present?"

Nightcrawler has posed:
It passes, it's a nice day and a bit breezy. Kurt listens good-naturedly as Clint curses out Stark, and then helpfully adds "Aah, much like his basketball game, skills elsewhere leave something to be desired -- good do know in case my phone goes on the fritz again." he replies, and then Kurt looks over, and gives a frown. "Ah... with Magneto?" he questions quietly, and rubs the back of his head. "No, I was attending to other things. A few friends were here, and at least one student of mine. I'm glad no one was seriously injured."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With a shrug, Clint moves away from the edge of the rooftop, obviously not quite considering trying the hook again. Alright, so there's ain't much to learn from Wagner, identified as /Nightcrawler/. Nice guy, green file. No immediate threat. The archer will have to look around for more information about the events at the Market.

" That's alright, " Clint replies, " I'm sure I'll find something. " He then pauses, as a grin slowly appears on his face, thinking of the basketball game.

" Sorry I missed the game, how was it? I mean, yeah, we lost cuz I couldn't attend and all, but otherwise? "

Nightcrawler has posed:
"Also because Thor is no good at basketball, Tony places himself as a someone just to throw the ball back in..." the blue man gives a slight grin as he looks out over the market place, and he purses his lips, his tail curling as he hops up and crouches on the side of the building.

"What is it you are looking for, if you don't mind my inquiry?" he asks, his head tilting. "I could ask those I know who were here. Some were quite close to the action."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With an understanding nod, Clint let's go of the basketball topic. The video recording was nice to look at, not that watching the Avengers lose was that funny, but sure ol' ShellHead ended the game with what might have been nice bruises.

Back to the matter at hand, investigating. Joining Kurt by the edge of the roof, looking down for a moment, before replying.

"Any trouble, especially in New York, is of interest to us," he says, not specifying who /us/ actually is. "Police reports are only one source of information, the cops don't see everything, y'know. We're concerned about what could happen next. So yeah, if you could ask around, about anything that wasn't in the official reports seen in the press." He pauses then adds, "I don't really stick my nose in mutant matters, but possible escalation of the troubles /is/ of our concern."

Nightcrawler has posed:
"That I can understand. As it involves mutants, and some of our community can be a little... more rough around the edges than others..." Kurt gives a frown, and mutters in German that he was supposed to pick up pretzels and that mustard he likes -- but his tail flicks again. "You could put out a call on one of the Mutant Town message boards. There were hundreds who were here that night. May be easier than trying to pick up the pieces after the fact. I promise, most of them don't bite."

And he gives a bright, fangy smile, exactly to punctuate his joke.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The last bit about the biting makes the archer laugh. Most might not bite, but many of them can kill you outright. Maybe not the teens calling the 800 line or the general population of mutant town, but it's always best to be careful in these surroundings.

"I'll think about it," he says, "I'm just starting looking around."

Nightcrawler might not know it, but Special Agent Barton is also fluent in German, it being part of the job description and all.

"Pretzels. Hrm, whatabout shcnitzels? I know a nice German restaurant around, wanna check it out?"

Then he looks around, - yeah, still on the bloody rooftop with a malfunctionning grappling-arrow. Pointing at the street below, Clint asks, grinning.

"It's on me, if you give me a lift?"

Nightcrawler has posed:
"Aaah, yes, you know I was just thinking that some schnitzel might be good for the spirit today!" Kurt states with a grin, and reaches over, clapping CLint on the shoulder.

"Well, if you're going to pay, I shall order the lunch serving then!" he laughs -- and with a BAMF the two disappear from the rooftop.
