Summers Brothers catching up
Date of Scene: 17 October 2020
Location: War Room - X-Men Base
Synopsis: Scott and Alex get together for this legendary moment in the Mush's time (12345!) to talk about Jean and MetaForce.
Cast of Characters: Cyclops, Havok

Cyclops has posed:
Tapping away at a control panel at the large table, Scott is pulling up a number of news reports on the screens before him. There has been a few attacks lately on anti-mutant haters and while that isn't what is making the field leader lose sleep at night, it's the fallout from it.

The media has been running wild with the stories now: Mutant terrorist groups attacks! Avengers save the day from evil mutants!

Leaning forward, he starts to build profiles of each enemy combatant based upon the field reports by Alexis, himself, and from what he could see from the battle against the Avengers.

Havok has posed:
Entering the room wearing his super suit, Alex appears as if he's been working out. Hair is disheveled, somewhat damp, muscles are pumped, or maybe that's just his new look. Either way, upon entry he notes his brother reading through news files. "Dude, we gotta clean up our image. Tell me again why the Professor doesn't just mentally fix the government and the hate groups?" He continues into the room and will take a seat on a nearby chair, swivel toward Scott, and relax.

Cyclops has posed:
"You know why. He wants to do it the right way. I can't be bothered to repeat one of his many speeches though. I've had a long week." Scott says with a loud sigh. He himself is wearing a pair of jeans and a snug black t-shirt over his body. Being that it's the weekend, he is dressing down and enjoying his 'time off' by obviously working.

"Some of the kids have started searching 'Magneto Was Right' posters on the Internet. When they see the news and what people are saying about us, I don't blame them for getting antsy. Anyways, these guys are calling themselves 'Metaforce'. What a name, right? They should trademark it." He sighs loudly. "This is their leader.. Dragon something .. Dragon Fire? Dragon Breath? He's a tanky fire type. It looks like they have mapped out hideouts of the Friends of Humanity and they are attacking them left and right. Definitely got a Mutant Liberation Front vibe about them."

Havok has posed:
"Well, I spent a year working for Erik. It wasn't my best year. Cause once you pull back the veil, Erik is just a thug in a purple and red battle suit with a god complex who doesn't give a shit about anyone who isn't a /useful/ mutant." Alex rambles a moment before leaning forward to look at what Scott is indicating. He reflects and comments, "MLF or old school Mutant Force before the Brotherhood was official. Again, a Magneto thing. Maybe they're going with Meta because they are trying to drag the metahumans into the fight, you know, distract the flat-scan humans to just hate everyone."

Cyclops has posed:
"I just think they're not very creative in choosing a name." Scott says as he taps some more notes into the computer. "Hank's girlfriend was at one of these. She nearly got killed by this girl. Pink. Can turn into crystals. She is able to throw blades of crystals and turn he arms into diamond like swords. Also found out that Miss Sandy Billings is almost invincible and a very strong mutant. It appears that she wasn't ready to come out of her mutant closet yet and she thought she couldn't be hurt. She took a diamond sword to the stomach and thankfully Shannon and Alexis was there to heal her. Miss Billings knocked her into a new zip code though from the field report stated. I'll need to talk to Henry about her later, see if he's okay."

Tapping away, he pulls up another profile. "This one can summon green psionic crows. I fought her once at Liberty Island. They hurt when they hit you. Really frazzle your brain up and confuse you. She's a low level threat though." He lets out a low breath as he pulls up another profile.

"You interested in putting a team together to take them out or bring them to justice? I'm still thinking that my X-Force idea is viable and right up this alley. You, Betsy, Victor, Logan, James. I can't think of a more qualified team of mutants to get things done."

Havok has posed:
Alex looks over the screen and checks off the people as Scott reviews them. When approached about the team option, Alex leans back in his chair and says, "You know I'm up for it. We'll do what is required to take them down. But... do you really want to put Logan and Victor on the same team? That's asking for collateral damage and internal strife."

Cyclops has posed:
"Of course I do. Who doesn't enjoy a good dinner and a show?" Scott says as he furrows his brows. "At the end of the day, we need to trust Victor and in return he has to trust us. He is the best at what he does, to coin a phrase from our hairy Canadian friend. This is the type of team structure he was built for. Having you, Betsy and Logan on the same team is designed to keep him in check. So far, the two of them have been in the same room and have not killed each other yet."

"Victor, has done everything right so far to gain our trust and Jean and Betsy assured me that he isn't showing outward signs of deceit. I have to at least 'try' and trust him to integrate with the team, or all of this has been for nothing. Besides, I want to see this Dragon Breath guy get his ass kicked in. He talks a lot and could use a good beating. I figure that is right up Victor's alley."

"This guy can create bubble shields and protect his team with them. As you can see from the video, one of those shields took a blow from Thor's hammer. It broke, but it saved his teammate .. the Dragon guy, from at least becoming a crater."

Havok has posed:
Alex leans forward again to look at the guy with the bubble shield. He mutters, "Oh damn." when referenced the assault of Thor's Hammer. He just follows with a silent, 'wow'. Then he redirects back to the statements of before.

To be truthful, it's not Victor that I'm worried about. It's more like Logan /and/ Victor. They both go into this berserker mode and don't really consider consequences. But, you're right, Betsy and I can handle them - or at least Betsy can with her brain zotting. I'd just sooner blast both of them when they act out."

Cyclops has posed:
"Yeah, but if you blast them, they just get back up and then try and kill you. Well -- at least Victor may." Scott says with an amused smile upon his face. "Either way, this group of jerks needs to be taken down and out and brought to justice. I'd like to have the X-Men do it so that the public can see that there 'are' good mutants out there. I'm not a fan of mutant PR but we could use a win once in awhile before big purple robots show up once more."

Scott lets out a long sigh as he leans back, staring at the profiles before him, then gives a shake of his head. "Jean is back at the school. Not sure how much you know but it was really scary for awhile. Found out she has a .. psychic being living inside of her. It calls itself The Phoenix. It's insanely powerful, like .. universe destroying .. powerful.. and I found out that The Professor knew about this for awhile now and locked it away inside of her mind. It finally broke free and it nearly killed Jean in the process."

There is a slump of his shoulders. "So now she and this fire bird have had a long talk and I guess they are going to work together .. the bird promises to not rewrite all of life as long as Jean gives it a bit of freedom. So .. you can only imagine that has been a strain on our relationship."

Havok has posed:
Alex's brow furrows with a very clear and confused look on his face. "What the fuck?", are his three simple words as he tries to wrap his mind around what Scott just described. "Hang on. Jean has a psychic entity living in her and the professor already knew about it and did nothing about it and now you and Jean are having to make nice with it because it's not going to leave her? Is that the gist I'm getting out of what you just said? Fuck, maybe Magneto was right."

Cyclops has posed:
"Yeah. That's the gist of it. When Jean 'died' and came back to life, it was because this Phoenix chose her as a host. We just thought it was ... luck .. I don't know how to explain it. But finding out The Professor hid all of this hasn't settled well in my stomach. I know that Charles is no longer in charge of the school and he left it for Jean to manage, but his presence is still felt here heavily. I don't know how I feel about this now. I feel betrayed. Jean feels betrayed. Even Ororo and Logan are worried. This Phoenix Force is powerful enough to rip universes apart. It is the essence of all life as we know it. It's been around for millenias. It has seen the rise and fall of many worlds. All of it is contained in the woman I love."

Scott's voice wilts a bit as his usual confident and cool demeanor cracks in his throat. "Jean has tried her best to assure me that everything is fine at the moment, that it's still 'her' and nothing has changed. But, I don't know how to feel now. I love her, but I'm terrified of her now."

Havok has posed:
That's a lot to process for Alex. His expression remains that of worry and concern as he looks slightly down to the floor while sorting out all the words that Scott just relayed. "Dude." is about all he can get out for a few moments that could be reminiscent of 'Bill and Ted' being astounded by something.

Alex's thoughts get as clear as they can and he says, "That's just crazy, and fuck Charles and all his secrets."
