Synopsis: Andrea and Jay return home after Thanksgiving with his family in Kentucky.
Cast of Characters: Icarus, Rage

Icarus has posed:
The decision had been made to go to Jay's home and spend it with his family. Ma had loved the company. The littles had been all over their big brother and especially the superstar pop icon Andrea in their midst. Certainly they had met before but an extended stay meant they could impress (or not to be more truthful) with their karaoke skills and throw tea parties in their room.

But all things came to an and as did that trip. It was Monday and they had flown home. Jay was insisting on helping bring up luggage himself instead of leaving to their people to do. Which meant he had no hands available to open the door to their place. Even as he pondered the numerous bags he carried and wondered for the sixteenth time just how much stuff she had actually needed for this trip in comparison to the amount of luggage.

Rage has posed:
Spending time in Kentucky has been fun for Andrea and she revels in every trip to see Jay and Sam's family. She even loves the tea parties and the karoke moments with the littles. She even put on a private Guthrie concert for them in the living room, acapella with only Jay's guitar. She sang all the hits (that was family approrpriate), even going back to her church days to make Ma happy with a rendition of Hallelujah.

But, now they're back home in New York, and Andrea is at least getting the doors for him. A girl needed to be prepared for any and all occassions of course! It's also not her fault she just 'has' to buy stuff while she's in town. She is single handedly supporting the economy over there with each trip back there she makes. She likes their jams! .. and moonshine.

Once they are inside, she reaches out to take some of the bags from his arms, leaning in to give him a kiss on the cheek. "I love the fact you're such a gentleman, but Edgar could have brought up a few of those you know."

Icarus has posed:
"He is. I think he's getting the rest of yours and my one bag." Jay sort of emphasizes the last two words but he has a happy smile on his face since he's only teasing her. He actually had two bags. It was true, she always came home with more bags than she left with. Yet it still amazed him how much luggage was needed for five days.

He lets her take some of them once they are inside, heading for the bedroom to drop off the rest. Unpacking is not high on his list of priorities. As nice as it was to have seen the family and gone back to where he was from, it was good to be back.

"Good to be home though. Going to take a day of just relaxing and not hearing a little screaming my name or leaping on me."

Rage has posed:
"It's so cute watching them go crazy over you. Imagine having two siblings that are X-Men and one dating the world's second famous mutant popstarlet." Andrea teases him as she puts her bags down on the bed, then gives a long stretch of her body to crack a few joints.

"I love the fact you're calling this place home." She says with a smile as she loops her arms around his neck, pulling him in for a quick kiss. "Like you're becoming a proper New Yorker living the big life." She says teasingly to him as she runs her fingers through his red hair to ruffle it up a bit. "I can cook dinner tonight, since I'm sure you don't want to go back out tonight and hit up a place. Even though you got wings, you're not a good flier." She teases him.

Icarus has posed:
"It's because I'm having to trust someone else piloting. I know I'm better than them in the air. At least, without a plane," Jay teases back, laughing a bit. He does lean in to give her a quick kiss and hug. "I appreciate that, hon. You know me so well. Just sitting at home in shorts with you sounds far preferable to going out tonight. We'll get back into the swing later this week."

He does give a little shrug. "This is home. It's the place we have built together. So it has become home for me in all ways now."

Rage has posed:
"Mmhm. Shorts. No shirt for you. Give me something to look at all day." Andrea says with a growl in her throat as she leans in to give his ear a nip. "So let me know what you're hungry for later and I'll try not to set the kitchen on fire. Worst case, I'll order something while you're taking a nap and then take credit for it."

Stepping out of her shoes, she hops on the edge of the bed and leans forth and tugs off her socks to give her bare toes a wiggle. "I'm also ready to get back into the studio and grind out some music. I'm so excited to record Stand Tall with you. I'm also going back and forth with my manager on putting out a small something. A five single Cher tribute album. I've been listening to her non-stop the last few weeks and she's one of my greatest inspirations. I really want to record some Cher stuff."

Icarus has posed:
Jay sits on the bed next to her, following suit. First the shoes then the socks. The socks were balled up one inside the other and tossed in a shot toward the hamper. They even make it in. Then he is on his feet taking his shoes, and hers since they were right there, to put away in the closet.

"We can do Stand Tall as soon as you're ready. And Cher being such an icon, I would love to see you do something as tribute to her. I think you'd kill it." As he was coming out, he set the image inducer to the side, wings appearing behind him.

Next was his shirt, added to the hamper. Last were the jeans, leaving him in his shorts. He moved to the dresser, drawing out a pair of shorts to put on over the top.

Rage has posed:
"I think I'd kill it too, if my nerves don't get the best of me. Cher is one of those artists that I get all messed up over. She's in my top five favorite singers of all time. Next to Paula Cole, Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Nicks and Benetar. I'd love to do a full album of just singing covers of all of them. Bring some of the old school to the younger generation. I want to sing The Chain. I want to sing Where Have All The Cowboys Gone. I wanna sing Love Is A Battlefield and I Drove All Night. I want to sing the songs my mother and my grandmother listened to when they were younger."

Andrea looks fairly emotional for a moment as she wrings her hands together, twisting her fingers in and out. "It was music like that which gave me drive to find the strength to come out as a mutant, to sing music that comes from my heart and soul. I just don't know when I'd fit something like that in. The label wants me to get working on a fourth album soon and they got songs lined up that I listened to already. I like them okay. I did find one I want to give to Shannon to sing. It's not in my wheelhouse. It's a bit country, a bit pop, but it's in her wheelhouse. Maybe help give her a chance since she's determined to be an artist of her own."

As Jay strips down, her eyes watch him with a hungry gleam, perking up a bit and being pulled out of her moody swing. She finds herself love sick over and over when it comes to him. "You're so hot." She says with a giggle. "I'm the luckiest girl in the world."

Icarus has posed:
"I dunno about that. I mean you could be with some rich guy. Maybe even a prince or king. Someone who dotes on you every second and gives you anything you want so you never have to work again. Instead you have me. I'm good on the doting, not so much the rest of it."

Jay does go back to what she was saying, the more serious. "If you want to do that sort of music, do it. I you have more power now than you did when you first started. You can get a lot more say on what you do. I have no doubt if you were to reach out to some of your idols, they likely would give their blessing. Maybe even collaborate."

Rage has posed:
"You give me everything I could ever want." Andrea assures him as she gives him a wide grin. "Why would I want a rich guy, or a prince? They would totally be busy too for me, probably cheat on me, blah blah blah. I ain't no trophy wife." Crawling on to his lap, she hooks her arms around his neck and gives him a wide grin. "You make me a better person and keep me grounded. You have the expanded family that I want. You give me inspiration. You give me life."

"I don't know if I have the guts to call Cher up and talk to her. I would freak out. I mean, around Dazzler I can be cool, even though she's the Queen and blah blah blah. But Cher? Oh my God. I would .. fall to pieces. I would start sobbing. I'd look like an idiot. She'd be like girrrrrl... who are you?" She says with a giggle. "Cher is like Madonna. She's so iconic. I don't have the balls. I don't got the balls to call any of them up. I'm just a popstar, you know? The new Britney, the new Ariana, the new Taylor. I'm like one of a thousand in the machine. I don't want to bother them. I don't want to annoy them."

A rare moment of insecurity for her. She lifts her shoulders upwards in a shrug. "They're like .. retired and living their best life now being old and rich and fabulous grandmas. I just don't want to come off as this silly kid."

Icarus has posed:
"You are far more than one in a thousand. You have been beyond them from the start. You may have some stuff that falls in that category but most of your music, stuff I wish you had the chance to get out there for the world but haven't had the opportunity, is so amazing. A lot of them started as 'just one of a thousand'. Until they reached that point they could do more. You are getting there. You should give yourself credit where it is due."

Jay snuggles her in close, holding her gently. "You are a smart, giving, beautiful woman and no one would see you as a silly kid. Well, okay, maybe for a few minutes when you got full on fangirl but after, you'd be recognized for who and what you really are."
