Wonder Woman has posed:
The Embassy has had an unexpectedly busy day. There had been some deliveries that were delayed from the previous week, and as Fate would have it, they all ended up arriving today. The day has, finally, reached the end of the hours during which the Embassy operates and allows visitors. This was the part of the day that Diana has been looking forward to since it turned so hectic and filled with paperwork.

With all said and done, Diana has slipped her feet free of her heeled shoes, taken a few minutes to go to her room upstairs and change into somethig more comfortable and then escaped to one of the gardens on the grounds. She wears a pair of dark grey cotton pants and a light blue sweater that has long sleeves and a loose turtleneck collar to it. She's pulled the hair elastic from her hair, releasing it from the ponytail it had been in all day, and that elastic is now around one of her wrists.

There's a water fountain in this particular garden, and it burbles softly as the water tumbles down the rocks and into the basin which holds the water. And fish, too. It's evening, at this point, and Diana has set a mug of tea on one of the stone benches near to the fountain. Rather than be sitting on one of the benches near to the fountain, she is instead sitting atop of a six foot stone wall that's near. It has a wide enough top to the wall that it's comfortable, and there are flowering honeysuckle vines climbing over the wall. She likes the scent of them, and so, she's chosen to sit near to them. She exhales a breath as she looks up to the dimming sky. Night is a ways off yet, but she likes to watch the stars come out from this particular spot. It's usually quiet and peaceful, and that applies this evening as well. Somewhere within the flower garden, a pair of rabbits munch on the leaves of cowslips.

Poseidon has posed:
Honeysuckle is a really nice scent. Poseidon would agree, if he was there to smell it. But he's not. Or is he? And then he is. Standing on the stone of the wall behind Diana. There's no warning. There's no sound. One instant Diana is alone. The next, Poseidon is there. One second, there's no emotions but her own. The next, there's Poseidon's emotions to be felt.

"Still waiting for the stars here, I see," comes the soft voice. "There are much better places to star watch, you know." Poseidon steps along the wall, closer to Diana, and then past her until he's standing in front of her. "How have you been?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Softly, Diana reaches out with her right hand to pluck one of the honeysuckle flowers, and then she lifts it to her nose in order to breathe in the scent. She has every reason to believe that she's alone here in the garden, and no reason to think that she isn't. There is nothing in the way of warning to cause her to expect anyone else, nary a thing that she hears or senses. She takes another sniff of the honeysuckle, and the she lightly twirls the flower before she lifts it to tuck it behind one of her ears.

Rather suddenly, and extremely unexpectedly, there is another presence. And very close, at that. She startles, which is assuredly not a common thing that happens! Had she been sitting on the wall in a different way then she may well have run the risk of losing her balance. It takes her a moment to regain her wits, and she lifts a hand to pull her fingers through her hair as her gaze turns towards him, one of her eyebrows quirking up. "You are far too good at that," she says softly, an amused smile tugging at the corners of her lips. And she takes in a deep breath, looking towards the evening sky before her gaze returns to him. "Waiting and watching for them, yes. They need more time. And there are better places to see them from, but here was closest. I have been well, thank you. How have you been?" she asks.

Poseidon has posed:
The smile that curls up the corners of Poseidon's mouth can't be seen for the silver beard that hides his mouth. However, that it crinkles up the corners of his eyes is as obvious as the amusement tinging his emotions. "It's good to be me," he says, amusement lacing his tone as much as his emotions. His blue eyes show a sparkle of that very same amusement in them.

"I would say I'm sorry, but I'm really not," he admits. He nods and lowers himself to sit down on the wall beside her, his lower legs dangling over the edge. Completely at ease, he is. "I can understand that. And I have been well enough. Keeping an eye on the mortal realm."

Wonder Woman has posed:
The smile that graces him might not be able to be seen by her, but the Amazon Princess can sense his amusement. And she can't help but to smile as well, a sparkle of the same emotion rising up into her blue eyes. "There are not many who can startle me," she says, watching him. "And I think that you rather enjoy that you can," she adds, brushing a bit of hair back from her face.

"I have always liked this garden best of the ones on the grounds. It has the fountain, and the honeysuckle," she says softly. He didn't ask, but she volunteers the information. Once he's settled next to her there on the wall, she very lightly nudges her shoulder against his. "I know you are not sorry, and... well... I think I do not mind that," she says, a smile tugging the corners of her lips. "As do I, keep an eye on things. They have been quiet, mostly, of late. May I offer you anything to eat or to drink?" she asks, watching him.

Poseidon has posed:
"Of course I enjoy that I can," replies Poseidon. That amusement is still there, still just as strong as it had been moments ago when he'd startled her. He glances out over the garden, taking it in. Taking in the scenery, the fountain, the flowers, everything. Eventually, his blue eyes return to Diana, shifting to nudge his shoulder back against hers. "Good. I'm glad you don't mind."

He nods thoughtfully, and glances away, to the fountain to watch the water play over the rocks. "Quiet is good. Quiet is better than the alternative." Poseidon gives due consideration to the offer of food and drink, and finally nods. "Yes, please. That would be lovely. Whatever happens to be on hand." There's sometheing almost unfathomable about him. Something majestic. Even sitting on the edge of a wall as he is now.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"I hope that you will keep finding enjoyment in it," Diana says, a smile quirking at the corners of her lips. It's not a very large garden, this one that's walled in stone, but it is pretty, cultivated with some flowers from Themyscira in addition to more native flowers. "I sit out here often, in the evening or night... with a cup of tea," she says softly, looking over the garden for a moment before her gaze turns back to him.

"It would have to be something much worse than startling me in order for me to mind at all," she says in a light tone. "Mm, yes... quiet is good. There is tea, on hand. Moussaka and fresh bread left from dinner," she says in a thoughtful tone. Lightly, she moves to hop down from the wall, landing on her feet. "Would you like to come in, or would you prefer to eat and drink out here?" she asks, curious.
