Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Loki

Wonder Woman has posed:
Night's darkness had fallen a handful of hours ago. The Embassy had closed its doors at its normal time, and everything both inside and out had seemed in order. Nothing had seemed beyond the scope of either ordinary or normal. There are Amazon guards stationed outside at the various entrances, keeping guard as is their duty. And yet, despite or because of all of these things, Diana has found sleep to be elusive tonight.

Giving up on the notion of finding sleep anytime soon, the Themysciran Princess left her room and padded barefoot down the hallway. She wears a pair of black cotton shorts that reach midway along her thigh and a light green t-shirt. Her black hair has been left free to tumble over her back, and she lightly descends to the level of the kitchen. The lightswitch is easily flicked on, and she makes herself a cup of tea before returning to the main level. Diana crosses the lobby of the Embassy and then makes her way down one of the side hallways before stepping outside and into the cool night air.

Loki has posed:
As it happens, Loki is also out and about this night. Though, his reasoning is less about an inability to sleep, and more about things being more entertaining at night. And, he has been drawn to the Themysciran embassy once more. This time, however, it's not to a rooftop. And it's not raining. The weather is clear with a few minimal clouds. Despite the general light polution from the city, a few bright stars can be seen overhead.

Already in the side yard garden thing, Loki is lounging atop a short dividing wall, gazing into the rippling water of the small pond there. He's swirling his right finger around in what appear to be random patterns. Within the water, bits of glowing blue light can be seen. Mimicking the motions of his hand movements. They look like fish, moving in an intricate pattern. The small smile upon Loki's face is rather pleased.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Lightly, Diana slips the fingers of her right hand through the handle of the mug of tea that she carries. Her left hand rests upon it as well, the warmth of the beverage seeping slowly into her hands, and the heat bothers her not at all. She takes a couple of steps forward into the garden, and then she stops to look up to the sky, admiring what few stars have come out to shine tonight. The stars have changed over the years, but when she was younger it was from Themyscira's landscape that she had viewed them from. The city has changed in the time that she's lived within it, the brighter lights having caused some of the stars to be harder to see.

It's the sound of the water being stirred that draws her attention deeper into the garden. And specifically, to the figure of a lounging Loki upon one of the dividing walls of it, and then to the pond with its glowing blue lights. One of her eyebrows quirks up out of surprise, for the sight of him is unexpected, and then she starts to approach him, her steps quiet on the grass path of the garden. "Are you populating my pond with bioluminescent fish?" Diana asks, a touch of curiosity within her words.

Loki has posed:
Unexpected, especially for the fact that she can't sense his emotions at all. Loki's emotions are well guarded. At the moment, at least. Perhaps all the time. "No," he answers. "These are from Asgard. Their color reacts to ambient light, but is not bioluminescent." Even as he speaks, the colors of the fish pulse and shift through the colors of the rainbow. They almost appear to be made of glass, though none of their internal structure can be seen within.

Wonder Woman has posed:
There is that utter lack of emotions to be felt from him, which is an oddity. Yet it is an oddity which seems normal for him, based on the last pair of times she met him when it was also present. A smile quirks at the corners of her lips at his answer, and she lifts her mug of tea to take a sip from it before she steps closer to him -- and closer to the pond, as well. "Until tonight, I have not seen Asgardian fish before," Diana says softly, a flicker of curiosity to her voice. She takes a moment to study Loki first, and then her gaze falls to the fish within the pond, watching them as they swim. "They are quite beautiful," she adds, admiring them for a long moment more. Then her gaze lifts to him, and a smile turns anew at the corners of her lips. "How have you fared since last we met?" she asks.

Loki has posed:
Dark glass, almost black, seemingly lit from within with all the colors of the rainbow at random intervals. But the colors are muted, now, and not bright. The fish almost look like some sort of crystal or stone, and are shaped like koi with long, graceful fins. "Then I shall leave them," he says. "Besides that, they're nice to look at." Loki gives one last wave of his hand, and the fish settle to swim placidly in the pond. "I have been well enough," he answers. "And yourself and your sisters?" How he'd managed to get into this side courtyard without the knowledge of those sisters is, perhaps, a curiosity all on its own.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The dark yet colourful forms of the fish are followed by her gaze, the grace of their movement admired as much as what they are themselves. Yet at his pronouncement of leaving them, she turns to look to him, a warm smile coming to her features. "Thank you," she says softly, inclining her head towards him. "It is a most generous gift," she adds. "They are quite nice to look at and to watch. What will they eat?" she asks, a touch of curiosity to her voice. It's an important thing to know since they'll need to be taken care of! "That is good to hear. I and my Sisters have been well, thank you. Things seem to have settled to a period of quiet, though there is always the possibility that it is merely the calm before the next storm," she muses, a thoughtful note to her voice. She takes a sip of her tea, then tilts her head a touch to one side, studying him. "I find myself to be curious... how did you avoid my Sisters to end up here?" she asks, curious. She doesn't sound as though she minds that he has, interestingly enough.
