Let's get physical.. physical..
Date of Scene: 05 November 2021
Location: Centennial Park, Southside, New Troy
Synopsis: While enjoying a frigid November evening doing exercises, Sarah meets a strange woman, and they both meet a terminator and dispatch with a termintor, and then she was gone without saying who she was! (Wanda btw)
Cast of Characters: Sarah Connor, Scarlet Witch

Sarah Connor has posed:
It was the beginning of November and dark comes early. Not to mention, it was bitterly cold for this time of year. Still, Sarah took time nearly every single night to use the hiking trails, and occasionally the fitness centres along the trials.

This time she was doing sit ups, but not just sit ups, she was doing them upside down on the pullup bar. Each time she came up she alternated which knee and elbow crossed to make it even more difficult. "..forty nine.."

After that she thought, perhaps, a jog around the park? Maybe.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Working out is something one simply must do to stay in shape. Especially when one might have to run and fight for their life. And so, it is something Wanda also does. Though she has no hope of ever being as fast as her brother, she still runs on a fairly regular basis. Such as today.

She is dressed in light sweat pants and a sweat shirt to account for the cold, but she's moving enough to stay warm despite her clothing not being overly heavy. She's coming around the trail and toward the area where the woman is doing upside down pullups.

Sarah Connor has posed:
".. fifty six.."

Sarah could see her breath. Gods it was cold! But the terminators didn't feel cold, so neither could she. Mind you it was times like this she really missed South America.

As she gets down to the nitty gritty of her workout, Wanda was on her periphery. Probably not a terminator. While they blew out hot air, this one hadn't the omph of one. Not that she relaxed, no.

As the woman became closer, Sarah took a little more time between each situp, watching. Just in case.

".. sixty six.."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Probably not a terminator. But it never hurts to be at least somewhat cautious. In fact, doing so could save lives, in the end.

However, behind Wanda comes another runner, a man, tall and thin. He seems to be running faster than the redhead, overtaking her slowly but steadily.

Wanda runs on, apparently oblivious and unaware. Which might, of course, be reality, or it might be a lure on her part.

Sarah Connor has posed:
Now there was something about this situation that had Sarah turning around and dropping to the ground. As she did so, she moved her arms to check that she had her gun. She already knew her knife sheath on her calve had her knife.

One gun.

Before she moved her hands she took to safety off.

"There you are! I was wondering! I almost thought you weren't coming." Sarah moved to the other woman's side, and watched the man carefully.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff jogs up until the point the blonde woman moves up beside her and acts like she knows her. Wanda doesn't miss a beat, either. She comes to a stop beside the blonde and gives a big grin.

"Sorry. Work kept me late. Hey, are we still on for fishing on Saturday? I found the perfect bait!" Indeed. Herself.

The man keeps coming, but slows ever so slightly, as though to assess the situation. Perhaps he's a terminator. Perhaps he's a predator out for a lone woman. Perhaps he's simply another innocent jogger.

Sarah Connor has posed:
Fishing? Who was this woman?? Did she just say what she thought she heard? Sarah nods softly as the word gets through though.

"If you insist. We could just forget about it and go out for drinks." Sarah doesn't not really drink, it was just one more time she kept her eyes on the door, so to speak.

Sarah kept herself between Wanda and the lonesome jogger. Quietly, "If he comes over to us, you flee. Okay? I'll deal with him." She didn't know who Wanda was, but she knew herself, and if it was a terminator she would handle it.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
This woman's face is not a complete unkonwn. But neither is her name known to every household on the planet. "Drinks sound good too," replies Wanda, with a smile. At the quiet words, Wanda tilts her head and replies, equally quietly. "If he comes over with ill intentions, I'm going to blast him into the stoneage." What an odd thing to say.

The jogger seems to be coming right toward the two women. But then again, the pair are right off the trail. Closer and closer he comes. Closer yet. And then? With barely a glance at the blonde and redhead, he keeps right on going, jogging down the path. Either a regular human jogger, or one who's decided his cover was blown. Either way, soon enough, the man is on out of sight

Sarah Connor has posed:
Indeed. What a strange thing to say.

Sarah stared at her for a moment, and then the lonesome jogger came closer. And closer.. And then moved on.

Until he had passed Sarah didn't realize how tense she was. Usually when a Terminator was upon her, there weren't really any people really around. And she liked it that way, It made everything much easier. Just kill the Terminator. Cut out the CPU, and stuff it in her truck to be disposed of by fire later.

"You're okay? You should probably stick to the lit paths."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff does seem to have a bit of strangeness to her. Her eyes, rather than being emerald are jade green, and hold something of a mysteriousness to them. There might be more to her than meets the eyes at first glance. Especially when she says odd things like that.

She too, watched the jogger, a calmness to her that speaks of experience when dealing with things that aren't strictly good. "I'm fine," she says. "You, on the other hand, were watching that guy like he was a bogeyman." She glances down the trail where the man had disappeared, expression thoughtful. "Sure. Lit paths." She sounds.. distracted.

Sarah Connor has posed:
"Bogeyman." Sarah scoffed. "You might say that." She quickly shakes her head. "He's.."

She didn't finish the sentence. Wanda was looking down the path intently. And for that matter, so was Sarah now. "Something's wrong." She debates whether she has time to visit her truck or not. "Stay here." No, she didn't have time to visit her truck, but she was going to check it out regardless.

And with that, she checks out where he had gone.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
That sentence wasn't finished, and Wanda was no longer focused on the blonde. Instead, she steps down the path, in the direction the man had gone in. Moments after she's told to stay here, which she ignores, there's a blood curdling scream in the distance. In the direction that man had gone. The scream had been male.

Wanda doesn't wait for Sarah. She takes off at a run toward the scream. What might be found upon arrival? That scream had sounded nasty and gristly and utterly terrified.

But when Wanda gets to where the scream had come from, there's nothing but footprints in the dirt of the path.

Sarah Connor has posed:
Not even a second behind Wanda came Sarah. She looked around. No lonesome jogger despite his blood curdling screams. Looking around she couldn't find him. There was no scuffles, or drag marks. Just he was gone.

"This might not be the best time, but you're not really a regular person, are you?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
There's nothing. No sounds. No blood. No body. It's eerie. Before Wanda can answer that question, there's a loud thump behind them. Then another blood curdling shriek. A shriek that's cut short with a sudden finality that speaks of death. Wanda whirls around, looking for the source of that sound.

Behind them, the man is standing just fine, but his face has been half torn off and hangs to one side, his hair all askew. Where there should be flesh and blood and bone is nothing but a shiny metal skeleton.

The thump had been him landing, the shrieks had come from the thing that had snatched up what it had thought was easy prey. It looks something like a cross between a pterydactyl and a winged tiger. One wing is half ripped off and its head lolls at an impossible angle, speaking of a broken neck.

"No," Wanda says, somewhat belatedly. "I'm not really a regular person. You aren't either, I think." No normal person would run toward shrieks like that, afterall. "Got a plan?"

Sarah Connor has posed:
Ah! That she was familiar with.

In the meantime, she had pulled her gun from her sheath behind her back. "I've got plenty of plans, but you don't seem to have a gun." Still, she explains, "They're fast. Stay out of their reach. If you can target them, target the middle of the forehead, the heart, or just behind the ear. That's the easiest way to beat them."

She continues. "When they are down, don't believe them. You have two minutes to really kill them. There's a CPU in them that needs to be cut out. They're machines, and they can be anyone that you know. Yeah, fun right? Don't worry about if you believe me, let's get him out of our hair first. Then you can disbelieve all you want."

Sarah takes several steps to him. She's only got the one clip, and needed to make it count.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff shakes her head. "I don't need a gun," she says, lips curling in a half smile. "Will fire work?" And then? Wanda listens in all seriousness to the description. "Gotcha. I believe you. Some of the things I've seen, I doubt you'd believe." She sounds amused. She contemplates the man-machine.

As Wanda is contemplating, the man-machine paces toward them. Slow at first, then picking up speed until it's sprinting quite quickly. The machine parts beneath the skin can be seen moving, shifting, allowing the thing to move like a human.

Wanda lifts her hands out from her sides just a little bit, and power the color of fire collects there. A dome comes into being, shaded red, around the two women and the machine. Best to keep it contained, and any stray bullets that might miss their mark or ricochet off metal.

Sarah Connor has posed:
"Come on.. You know you want to." Sarah holds her ground. "I'm the one you want." Whether or not Wanda could help, Sarah was going to destroy it. And she will try to make it focus on her, not Wanda.

She's holding off on the gun. Just a little bit closer.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
As the question about fire is not answered, Wanda has to assume either the answer is no, or the brunette didn't hear her. Either way, she holds off for the moment, and holds the shield in place. If it looks like the woman is going to have issues, she'll step in and lend a hand.

The man-machine speeds closer, closer. It's almost on top of Sarah when it leaps high up into the air, intent on coming down on top of the woman and squishing her like a pancake. It ignores Wanda. For the moment.

Sarah Connor has posed:
There. Now it's close enough, and Sarah fired the entire clip, one after the other. Eventually one hit the mark and the machine came tumbling down.

"Here. Keep everyone away. I've got to dig out the CPU.." She had rolled him -it- to the side and dug out her knife to pry to its head below the ear. "Without this it's almost useless." Unless you were a Terminator. Then it was spare parts, or with another CPU, it could be reactivated.

Once it was detached, she pocketed it. "I will need to take the body to burn it."

Not once did she introduce herself.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff has not yet introduced herself, either. She watches curiously as the man-machine is taken down and the CPU dug out and pocketed. She held the shield up until the point where it seemed safe to drop it.

"You don't need to take the body to burn it," she says. "I can do that right here." And so she does. And it's not normal flame, but magic. Soon enough, the body is gone, nothing but ash left. That done, she smiles at the brunette. "Pleasure working with you. Later." That's all the warning she gives before she vanishes in what appears to be flames. Once they're gone, so is Wanda.
