Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty has been out of school for a while. Not like it's been ages, but for an ambitious young person ready to enter adulthood it's been AGES! The troubles she ran into at high school seemed to doom all college prospects she had, and then the headaches. On top of that there was the other... weirdness. But no one seemed to have really noticed yet and now she didn't fall through things hardly ever at all! Just took a little concentration. And finally out of the blue a letter arrived at her aunt's house and she was being considered for an institute of higher learning!
The girl spent all morning running around when the appointed day arrived. At least ten different outfits, everything from casual jeans and a dressy shirt to a floor length gown until everything in her closet and her aunts had been ransacked for consideration. Finally she was dressed though, a nearly knee length dark skirt and matching top, over it a dressy little jacket cut stylishly a little short and some ankle boots with an acceptable heel.
"Alright, I think I'm ready." The young woman gave her aunt a hug the two giggled as they stepped out of the house for the drive to the address indicated in her aunt's SUV.
And there was a limousine parked outside the house. A white limousine with a guy in a black suit standing by the passenger door with one of those goofy little hats you only see the guys driving cars in movies wearing. A thought flashes through her mind, 'Ummm, okay, this just got more stressful, but cool!' Turning to her aunt, Kitty smiles and gives the woman another hug and then pulls away. "Uh, I guess I have a ride! If I need anything I have my cell phone, I'll let you know how it goes!" She hops down the steps, rather agile for a girl in heels, turning on a dime she waggles a finger and adds, "Don't bother me! Last thing I need is a buzz while they're considering my qualifications!" Another smile and wave and she heads towards the vehicle, slipping inside the open door and wondering what's going to happen next.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma's waiting in the limo, lips curled in a little smirk. A touch smug, a touch delighted. Once the door's closed, Emma positively purrs out. "Ah! Ms. Pryde, a delight to meet you. I apologize if you thought you'd have more time before our meeting began but... well..." She tilts her head ever so slightly, one eyebrow lifting, "When I have a chance to interview such a spectacular candidate I find it best to strike while the iron is hot." She sighs and murmurs, "And, of course, an excuse to get out of the office is always welcome."
Emma leans back in her seat, gesturing to the small bar set up in the seating area, "Can I get you something? I know how nerve wracking these acceptance interviews can be, after all. Especially when dealing with a post secondary education -and- your... unique qualifications. And I do so wish to make you as comfortable as possible."

Shadowcat has posed:
Well that causes Kitty to stiffen up. Yup, perfect posture that's only slightly ruined when she immediately attaches her seat belt. The young brown haired girl looks twenty types of nervous as she glances over at Emma. "Oh! You must be Ms. Whi.... Frost! Yeah, hi! It's really nice to meet you and I do appreciate you coming out to get me and stuff." Her mind is racing through a series of possibilities as her eyes glide over Emma, the vehicle's leather interior, even the minibar and the driver get some consideration as the vehicle starts moving. The limo rolls onto the streets at a smooth, slow pace, but Kitty is still on edge. "Oh, no, I'm fine. I wouldn't want to spill anything in here, it looks amazing. Thank you again for the letter," her thoughts trail off as she considers how terrible it would be to ask for a drink, especially an alcoholic one at this point. "Yeah, so what sort of programs does your institution offer? I'm thinking about getting into something with Information Technology or at least getting some certifications even if I go for a more classic degree."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma lets out a low noise at Kitty's questions, it's hard to read, but it -sounds- like an approving murmur. "Oh, I can assure you we offer a wide range of programs. Along with training for more... unique talents, yes?" She clasps her hands together, shifting and leaning forward a touch, intent blue eyes seeming to just -burn- into Kitty's own as she murmurs. "I mean, there are benefits to owning one's own company as well as running a school Internships, training in a real world environment. I'm sure you'll find plenty of opportunity to experiment and find a position you enjoy being in, and then we will be able to train you thoroughly in it." She laughs softly, "But then, sometimes it's good to be a jill of all trades as well. Certainly a little experience with computers can't hurt, even if only to fix your home internet once you've found another field you prefer to focus on in your education, Ms. Pryde. You may even find you enjoy teaching in the future!"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty stiffens slightly at the suggestion that her current life goals might not be valid. There's only a hint of a blush at the intense examination but the girl blows it off as she glances away. The young girl considers the passing buildings as she says in a non-committal way, "Perhaps, I don't know I guess." Her own eyes slide over the contents of the cabin again as she examines everything. After a pronounced pregnant pause she asks curiously, "So, we're headed to the school now? I wouldn't mind a tour if you have someone available, sometime, if it's convenient."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma laughs out, the limo's heading towards Metropolis at a good speed, a 'I'm rich enough speed limits are suggestions' speed, really. Slim blonde eyebrows lift as she murmurs out, "Oh, don't worry. You'll have plenty of opportunity to find your place in life, Katherine. I had many interests and jobs before I found mine. I'm simply suggesting you not... worry too much about having a set plan already. You're still young, after all!" Emma flashes a wide smile and shakes her head slowly, "Oh no, I'm not going to put giving you a tour off on some paid intern, dear. I'll give you a tour myself when we arrive. I'm sure you'll have plenty of questions. You seem quite inquisitive, but then, the best students always are!"

Shadowcat has posed:
There's another nod from Kitty as she shifts into small talk. You know, the small things that you speak about when no other conversation topics seem to suffice. Even then though, eventually it lapses into an uncomfortable silence and the pair drive on silently to their destination.
