Cast of Characters: Beast, Rogue

Beast has posed:
There probably ought to be some unwritten law in the universe that states that someone that knows the laws of physics like the back of his hand and who has extremely accurate reflexes and physical control, should not be allowed to challenge anyone to stone skipping. Someone apparently had not really received that memo and from the looks of the ground around the rock where Hank McCoy is sitting, had a bit of a tantrum when the good doctor did not 'play down' his skill for the young and overly cocky. There are crop-circles in the grass, albeit very small ones, where feet were stamped.

And now, Hank, with a flat pebble in hand, murmurs to himself "All in the wrist, dear boy. I dare say you'll practice your inner peacock next time..." Oh dear, showing off for a girl? Sounds like it might have been.

Rogue has posed:
Speaking of girls to show off for, up in the sky is a wandering Rogue. She's been gone for a couple of days now - likely just taking refuge somewhere that involved not having to interact with anyone at all. She has moments like that. Now she's returning, and when she spies Hank sitting on a rock near the lake, she dives down only to land a few several feet from the man with a smile that's just full of Southern Sweet. "Heya Hank! Whatcha doin' out here by the lake all on yer lonesome?" Oh that accent is *thicc* today!

Beast has posed:
So thick you could slice it in two and call it a butter pecan pie slice! "Contemplating whether I was a bad teacher or not," Hank replies with a smile and a sparkle in the eye abover his half-moon spectacles. "On the one hand, I am sure I exposed the inherant flaws of life itself, by not letting the little man win just because he's younger, keener and littler than I am. But on the other hand, I may have dented young and easily bruisable pride, which may make actual lessons that do not involve life, a little harder." He sniffs, mocks Cartman with a "...respect mah authoritah!" in a small, lispy voice. The stone is skipped.

Wrist flick action and precise understanding of the meniscus of water means it goes for fifteen skips before it plops.

"How... or perhaps also where... have you been?"

Rogue has posed:
"Been good. Took a trip down south fer a bit, just ta get a little southern style. We should go sometime, ya know? I didn't think about it 'fore... but definitely somethin' ta do..." Rogue offers, watching as Hank skips that stone about fifteen times before it plops into the water. A little smirk tickles her lips as she looks around for a stone of her own, getting a nice smooth one. "Younger people may bruise easily, but in the end, it'll make 'em stronger when they grow up. Pride is a weird thing..." She says this, while seeming to just cock her arm back and fling the rock which skips about seven times before it plops into the water.

She's happy with this.

Beast has posed:
"Oh, jolly good show." With a fang-filled grin, Hank squints at the far shore of the lake a few moments in contemplation of what else was said there. "How are they for being... judgemental where you were at? So as I know. I've been south a few times, but it's usually... ah... not exactly a social thing for me when I've been."

And indeed, there's been a few times when it's been anything but, but societal norms vary even from township to township.

Rogue has posed:
"It's really hit and miss. Lucky you have me. I can make sure we go to places that ain't known for judgin' any one...." Rogue offers and then seems to think on it. "And if we happen upon anyone that looks at ya twice, they'll get a tongue lashin' 'nough ta keep their grandkids quiet." She nods as if those words are a triumph and then grins before moving over and giving Hank a kiss on the cheek. No tingles. Nothing. Seems like something has begun to click.

Beast has posed:
And once again, it maketh the man to freeze, if only fleetingly, just to measure the magnitude of the moment. And when nothing untoward happens, unlike the first time that physical contact occurred... he smiles again. The kiss makes his chest swell a little, then he simply offers her a hand, gloveless as it is. "I will have a fine field guide then. Would you care to take an evening stroll around the lake, Anna-Marie?"

Rogue has posed:
Of course, his hand engulfs hers, but that really isn't the point is it? They are touching, skin to skin, and nothing is happening. She's not draining his powers, or causing him to go suddenly hairless - or worse - into a coma. When he offers her a stroll around the lake she smiles and ducks her head a bit before giving a nod. "I'd like that, a lot, Hank." She offers. "Also, have I ever told ya that I really like how my name sounds when you say it?"
