Kings and Arrows
Date of Scene: 23 October 2022
Location: Central Park, Manhattan
Synopsis: Thor and Kate meet. Cute.
Cast of Characters: Thor, Hawkeye (Bishop)

Thor has posed:
Thunder rings in the air.

The sky is partly cloudy and a nice, cool breeze in the air. People are still in the park all the same, living their lives and doing what they wish. Yet they may not know that a king is amongst them.

Recently returned from a trip through the Nine Realms, Thor Odinson is in Midgardian clothes. A green jacket, a dark shirt, blue jeans, and an umbrella in hand. Long golden hai pulled into a ponytail and a beard covers his face.

He sits on a bench - staring and watching. He reminds himself why he rules. Why he fights.
Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate Bishop still goes jogging in the park, wearing track pants and a sports bra top, her black hair pulled back in a ponytail. Her hero gear is back at the office, now that she's a full-time PI, but she can still defend herself pretty damn well with her hands and feet if it comes to that.

As she's running, though, she spots the God of Thunder there, hard not to recognize regardless of what clothes he wears. She slows down, her sneakered feet padding along the walkway as she looks at him.

"Uh...hey...aren't you...?"
Thor has posed:
Thor is humming something.

Some old Asgardian tune from his early youth, no doubt. Yet, when Kate Bishop pulls around the corner and slows to a stop, Thor's eyes shifts to look at her. It was like staring into the thunderstorm. The eye. Wisdom and Peace surrounded by chaos and recklessness, a balance in those blues.

"I am. Are you?" Thor comments with a chuckle. "Though I hope you are in no rush to oust me." he chuckles, leaning and using his hand to cover his face. "I'm trying this incognito thing."
Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate Bishop shakes her head, "No, no, I...I can keep a secret. Promise. Actually, I'm a friend of Clint Barton's. Hawkeye. That's me, too. I'm Hawkeye and he's Hawkeye. It's complicated. Not in like a relationship way, he's not...no, he and I would not...we're just friends. Even if he's a big pain in the ass sometimes. But he'd probably say the same thing about me."

"He didn't, did he? Did he ever say anything to you about Kate Bishop? Oh! Yeah. That's me. I'm Kate! It's nice to meet you, your highness!" she says.
Thor has posed:
Seeming pleased, Thor gestures to the empty spot next to him. "Thank you. Would you like to sit?" Thor smiles at her, and he hears Hawkeye's name. "Haha..." Thor chuckles. "I've missed Clint. Is he well?" Thor asks.

"Then you must be-" She introduces herself. "Ah. A pleasure to finally meet you. You are lovelier than I thought. Clint had words." Thor laughs.
Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate Bishop takes the seat and nods, "I figured he would. He isn't the quiet type," she says. "Eh, he's Clint. If he's not knee deep in some sort of trouble, he's just bored," she says.

"So, why the low profile? You get a lot of people looking for autographs?" she asks. The compliment makes a little flush go to her cheeks, "I'm sure you say that to all the superheroic archers."
Thor has posed:
The Thunderer starts to smile. "Right you are. Even in the Avengers, he's always finding a way to make things...interesting." He playfully nudged Kate's shoulder. He hums softly though.

"Only to you." okay, Thor is flirting a /little/ bit. But he hums. "Plenty of reasons. I've become...different over time. Asgard is now the realm of my rule, I'm an Avenger, and a God. I Uh...suffer from an overstimulation of company." He smiles.

"But you are alright." He chuckles.
Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate Bishop raises an eyebrow, "Overstimulation, huh? Yeah, I get that. It's not the same, but my Dad is a pretty big deal business guy and I got dragged to a lot of fancy events growing up. I'd always get stuffed into some dumb dress and paraded around. I hated it. Like so much. I started wearing suits when I got older. Drove my dad absolutely nuts," she says.

She's not complaining aobut the flirting. Why would she? LOOK AT HIM. "Guess you never really wanted to be king, huh? Well, using my detective skills, I'm going to guess you would quit, but there's nobody good to take your place and you don't want the throne to fall into the wrong hands."
Thor has posed:
"Fathers can be hard." Thor tells Kate. "I remember when Odin sent me to Jotunheim to push back the advance. I didn't tell him I took Jarnbjorn with me - a mighty axe." He smiles in joy at the thought, a fondness taking over him.

"You are very astute." Thor looks a little surprised. "It is true, I serve better in the field than on the throne. Yet, there is no other choice. Though perhaps one day I will trust another to take the throne or guard it while I am away. Much must be done for peace."
d He hums.
Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate Bishop nods, "Yeah, I used to sneak out all the time, hit the clubs, do the party girl thing. Until..." she says and then she trails off. She doesn't want to talk about that. "Anyway, eventually I learned that the world wasn't as soft and easy as it had been made out to be. So I got hard, too," she says.

"I don't want my dad's job either. That's why I opened a detective agency. He hates it, but I don't care, he's in Europe most of the time anyway. We don't really talk anymore," she says, "But enough of that - I bet being King, you want a break more than anything. Maybe we should go ride the roller coasters at Coney Island," she grins.
Thor has posed:
"Hah!" Thor harks a laugh at Kate's words. "Oh, how I remember leaving for feasts and splendor. Odin off wished for me to partake in Loki's studies, but I enjoyed living in the moment rather than the sacred texts."

He smiles. "It's wonderful how we are protected stagger the horrors of reality. The things that we can see? It is enough to shatter us all." He hums.

Her invite to Coney Island has him smiling. "I would like that." He tilts his head. "Is this a request to court?"
Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate Bishop laughs, "I...Well, I mean, it's not...not that," she says and she can't help but blush. Is Thor hitting on her? Holy shit. Why? He could have a goddess or a supermodel or...y'know, lots of women that aren't her.

"WHy don't we just have fun and see where things go? I'm not really looking to, uh, settle down anytime soon, so we can just...enjoy each other's company and if we do like each other, we can..."

What the hell is she talking about?!
