Face your fears... now in pink
Date of Scene: 08 November 2022
Location: Abandoned Warehouse, West Side, Burnley
Synopsis: Thomas and Faith discuss love, friendship and proms.
Cast of Characters: Thomas Raith

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas was pacing the room a little bit like a frustrated cat. Despite the assault earlier in the ladies room, they didn't seem any closer to finding the youn girl's actual attacker or unearthing anything that was actually linking things to Madrigal Raith. Which made it all the more interesting when his phone suddonly buzzed and a slow wicked smile came across his face.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane is in the washroom, having a nice cold shower in an attempt to feel something close to normal..But is there really any normal in a Slayer's world? She steps out a moment later, hair soaking wet, a towel wrapped around her body, and raiding the fridge for something to eat, after finding nothing in the hotel, and being interrupted by that screaming girl. "Soo, what's our next move?" she mutters, grabbing some leftover sandwiches from their last meal.

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smiles slowly, in that infuriatingly handfsome way that can send chills down a woman's spine while making her want to punch him in that sinfully kissable mouth. "Well as a matter of fact, I have an order on it's way up. There is going to be a party tonight, and our...costumes are here."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane turns around and smirks, leaning against the counter, rubbing her hair with a towel before digging into the sandwich. "Well, it's about time. And what's this about a party? You never told me about that before..Thought we were wearing our vampire costumes.." she sighs, "I shoulda brought a change of clothes, hopefully mine are dry by now..Although I'm sure you're not minding the view now, are you." she smirks wickedly at him and winks, before vanishing into the next room to get changed. But leaves the door open a crack so she can still hear him.

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith grins a bit, "Oh I actually bought something for you, so don't get to much in a hurry to spoil my fun." He says just as the door open and the bellhop holding two large garment bags and a small plastic box. He hangs the bags from a hook and unzips them. The first? A Classic Tuxedo. Black and white. And the seconds... a large pink taffeta ball gown with a tiera, diamond choker, and other accessories. He picks up the box and walks towards her, letting her see inside it even as he grins. "Faith Lehane... will you be my date to the prom?"

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane pauses as someone knocks on the door and when Thomas steps in, she is only half dressed, pulling on her other pant leg, with just her bra top on when he shows her what he bought for the 'party'.

Her eyes widen in surprise and then disgust, shoving the box away. "The hell?! Are you fucking kidding me? You seriously think I'd be caught dead in that...That atrocity?"

She rolls her eyes, angrily tugging on her red crop shirt. "Who the hell do you think I am, some depraved girl who didn't get to go to Highschool so now she has to relieve her dreams out as an adult??! No fucking way, Thomas!"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith looks neither ashamed or abashed at her reaction, obviously expecting it to be something of the vein. "Faith, think about it. It's a /horror/ convention. Prom is a staple of Slasher movies It's also a prime time for our evil little whatever it is to strike." He smiles and opens the box revealing a pink corsage. "This is undercover work. The dress is designed to allow you two carry four knives or stakes or what have you. The Choker works perfectly as a gorget to protect your throat. the front of the gown is boned in such a way to resist stabbing and clawing." He smirks a bit, "The corsage? That's just pretty."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane groans dramatically as she stares at the fluffy girly pink dress in obvious disgust. "Look, I can do my undercover work just FINE dressed like this! You know I dropped out of highschool, and that was not a particularly bright part of my life. I don't need this to remind me what a failure I was. And I definitely don't need to dress up like some prissy pink princess either! I mean, give me some sexy black leather mini dress and I'm all over it. This..Thing? That's...I mean, what the hell do I get out of all of this, anyway?"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smiles a bit, "And a sex black mini dress would stand out like, I believe the expression you used, like a fart in church." He smirks a bit and sets the box on the stand, setting beside her and cupping her chin. "You didn't complete Highschool? Dropped out. So what? This is a party. It's a role play. It's a /parody/ of those prissy little dresses and such that you are talking about. Hell, you are one of the strongest, most independent, focused, bad ass women I know. You think putting on a dress will change that for a second? Make anyone who knows you even /doubt/ it for a moment.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane smirks, staring back defiantly at him and shakes her head. "Oh, don't think I regret anything. I'd never wanna go back to school. It just aint for me. I mean, you just learn useless crap anyway." she pulls away, glaring back at the dress, picking up the corsage thoughtfully, an almost..Sad look in her eyes, before she tosses it away angrily. "I hate highscale parties, I prefer more grunge. This is stupid. Why'd I sign up for it again?" she sighs, "I don't mind costumes, but if I wear that, I'll feel like a freaking stranger. Besides it looks super uncomfortable."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith grins slightly and smiles. "Because to hunt wolves you have to hide amongst the sheep. And the sheep remember prom as this massive milestone in their lives, making it prime fodder for Horror movies. He smirks a bit and adds with a shrugs. "And believe it or not... I never went to my prom either."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane sighs a bit resignedly as she considers his words. Of course it makes sense, but...She frowns and mutters under her breath before very reluctantly stepping towards the dress, holding it up in front of her. "I really hate you. I'll just bet you're loving this..I just hope I get to kill enough demons in return for all the bs you put me through. I dunno why I even stick around.." she pauses, peering back at him in surprise. "Seriously? You dropped out of highschool? Mister wealthy, successful businessman? Ho'wd you manage that?"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith sighs a bit, but all things considered he figures she deserves an answer to an honest question. "My birthday is Valentines day." He says with a sigh. "Until a White Courtier has their first feeding, we are a hundred percent human. There is literally no difference. Perhaps an intesnse psychic scan might find the sleeping parasite, but that is it. And I was...well typical of the male breed of late teen. I wasn't what you'd call unfortunate, but I wasn't some...how did Harry put it... Greek God of Boflex?" He chuckles a bit, self derisively. "For my 17th birthday, my father took me to a strip club. Said it was time I became a man. Hired a stripper and part time hooker who called herself Kandy Kane to take me in the backroom." He closes his eyes, shivers with the memory. "You can guess what happened from there I am sure. Well my demon awoke and over night I went from someone who might have been in your friend Xander's league to a league all my own. Naturally I couldn't go back to school.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane arches a brow as he tells his story, peering at him intently. "Oh yeaah? I know you mentionned this Kandy Kane before, I guess it makes sense that you couldn't live a normal life after becoming a monster.." the words just slide ride out of her mouth, not really caring if she insulted him or not. It's a fact, isn't it?

"Heh, funny, kinda ironic, I mean, when I was around 16 years old, I guess that would have been highschool prom or whatever, and that's when my slayer powers activated and I dropped out of highschool. Y'know, it was kinda hard with all these nightmares and voices in my head, and superpowers and monsters trying to kill me.."

She frowns, playing with her fingers, "I mean..when my watcher found me it was the first time someone really gave a damn about me..And then this vampire lord, Kakistos, ripped her apart in front of my eyes, and I just..." She licks her lips, turning away to stare out the window, her voice wavering at a traumatic point in her life, and she tries to cover it up with a shaky laugh.

"I mean I'm over it now, it's no biggie, Buffy helped me find him and kill him so it's all cool.."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smiles a little bit. He doesn't hug her, though that is what he would have done with anyone else. He doesn't even touch her. He just laughs with her slightly. "Well you're stronger then me then I suppose. Kandy... Her real name was Veronica Miller, but in my mind she is still Kandy... She still haunts my nightmares some times. She..." he sighs and shakes his head. "I've never told anyone this... She had a daughter. Megan. She was six when I...when I killed her mother. It took me about eight years to find all this out, so she was 14. She's 18 now. I've been sending her money. Weregild I suppose. She doesn't know from who or why. But she's going to collage. She wants to be a teacher. And she'll never have to take off her clothes to pay for it."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane shrugs, "Kakistos still haunts my dreams sometimes too, knowing that I was powerless to stop him, but whatevs. I'm totally over it. Me and B, we staked him with a massive stake. It was awesome." she grins, turning around to face him again, but her smile fades as he mentions his first victim's daughter.

"Well geez, that's seriously messed up, Thomas. I mean...Well, at least you're doin' something for her. I mean, it's more than what most monsters would do for their victims. Congratulations, you're a monster with a conscience!"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith nods slightly. "I'm like you in that aspect. I didn't get a choice if I wanted to be a monster or not. I simply am one. So if I have no choice in being a monster, then by empty Night I will chose what sort of monster I am." He shrugs a bit and adds, "I'm glad you were able to slay youyr demon. I don't really get that option.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane laughs, reaching out to grab his shoulders heartily. "Well geez, aren't we a crazy pair, a reluctant monster, and a reluctant slayer. Isn't life harsh? But at least I don't have to slay you...Yet!" she grins wickedly as she says that, eyeing him, "At least not til I'm finished with you.."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smirks wickedly, "Oh? You never know. After all most of my kind thought I had a Slayer already in my thrall... Maybe if we ever come to it, I get in that one lucky hit and make you my personal love slave and enforcer." His tone is completely teasing and it's obvious he believes that it never would or could happen.

Faith Lehane has posed:
"Heh, dream on, vampire." she smirks and shakes her head in disbelief, digging her nails into his shoulders for a moment before attempting to shove him away rather forcefully. "I'm not like B, I think we've already established that much. And in case you need a reminder, I dont love easily, and I sure as hell don't let monsters enthrall me, no matter how 'pretty' they seem. If anything, I'd be the one to make you MY slave. Afterall, I am the predator, you're merely the prey, let's not forget that.."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith moves away elegantly and gracefully damn him. His smirk just a little bit wicked. "Is that a fact?" He asks curiously, amused. "Don't forget I am a preditor too my dear." he says moving to fix himself a drink and pours her one as well. "But if you really want to test that theroy, we'll have to wait till after we bag our mutual hunt... Then I know this delightful little secluded cabin... And we can find out..."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane chuckles, snatching the drink offered, taking a long sip. She's feeling a lot better than a couple hours earlier. At least most of her bruises have healed up by now.

"Heh, I'm the best at what I do, just dont tell Buffy that. I'm sure she boasted that as the first Slayer she's better than me. But we both know better, afterall, I cheat." she winks playfully at him as she sits on the bed, crossing her legs and leaning back casually.

"Hmm, so what's this, we're not even dating, and you're already talking about a honeymoon? You really are delusional, y'know that?"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith laughs a little bit, "Honeymoon? Faith I'm talking about taking a nice little fuck-cation. Nothing so grandiouse or romantic as a honeymoon. Just me and you going at each other like a couple of minks to see who taps out first."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane smirks and shrugs, taking another long sip. "Never been on a vacation before, I mean, running from town to town to avoid the cops or the latest demon on your tail doesn't really count, and roach infested motels are gettin' kinda old." she grins, "I could do with a real vacation, and knowing you, it'd probably be something fancy, although admit it, you see me as a stand-in for B, don't you? Now that she's gone and couldn't be bothered to reconcile with you, you've got this empty space in your heart and your soul, and you're hoping to fill it up with me." she grins wickedly as she peers back at him, daring him to answer her challenge truthfully.

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith considers and shrugs, deciding to answer truthfully anyway. "Loosing Buffy did leave a hole in my heart and soul as you put it Faith. But you're not replacing her in any way except perhaps as keeping me topped up on Slayer Brand energy... which is an incredible rush in and of itself." He shrugs a bit, "Buffy and I? We fell for each other fast and hard. Like a beautiful train wreck that never should have worked, but somehow did for a very long time. You? Faith I have something with you I never actually had with Buffy. A Friend. A confidant. Someone who can look at my ugly side and not blink. We might be lovers... but that friendship? That's what I value first and foremost. I've had dozens of lovers in my life. Maybe hundereds... I can count my friends on one hand.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane frowns thoughtfuly as she listens to his confession, staring quietly into her drink. Faith...Isn't known for thoughtful reflections much, mostly she just shoots first and asks questions later. But now..

"Gotta say, I've never really had friends before. Even B..The Scoobies. They just see me as a wild card, unreliable, untrustworthy. They don't ever invite me to their little Scooby meetings or parties or whatever." she shrugs a shoulder. "Not like I care or anything, who needs 'em anyway? I've done just fine on my own..Although.."

She glances back at him..And smiles, an almost genuine smile at that. Maybe it's a little unnerving to see, given how very guarded and cynical she usually is. "Never thought I'd meet my equal, or anyone worthy of calling 'friend'. Until now.."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smirks a little bit and chuckles. "We better be careful or this is going to turn into a Hallmark movie on us." He says with a grin, lightly punching her in the shoulder. "Now are you ready to hit the floor again?"

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane rolls her eyes. "Gimme a break, I hate romance movies." she wrinkles her nose, but as he playfully punches her in the shoulder, she smirks a bit and nods, finishing the last of her drink before grabbing his hand and using it as an anchor to climb to her feet. "Great, guess I may as well try on that stupid dress at least.."
