The Bunker of Tony Stark!
Date of Scene: 29 July 2023
Location: Bunker - Stark Tower
Synopsis: Tony and Barbara.
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Oracle

Iron Man has posed:
In the depths of Stark Tower there are many many secrets. The blue prints on file with City Hall are a lovely depiction of what Stark Tower might well be if the flow of time was subtly different. If there was no such thing as Iron Man. The one in reality? It is a distinct building with a plethora of hidden access points, alcoves, storage areas, and the owner of the building's favorite spot...
    The Bunker.
It is within these confines that Anthony Stark works that magic. Most of his inventions are created here, though not always his most influential ones. Yet it is only a handful of people who are privileged enough to step into its hallowed hall, to look upon the myriad of electronic devices, consoles, and holographic displays. Usually when its owner is in residence the room is illuminated brightly. Though right now it is dim, with all of the various Marks of Iron Man armor on display against one wall, only now standing in shadow.
That is until... the heavy door opens from above. Down the stairs Tony walks, taking them at a leisurely pace one at a time as he says over his shoulder. "Welcome to my home. My real home." He waves a hand over his shoulder, "Be sure not to touch my stuff."
A beat as he walks, "I mean, you're here to do research, so feel free to touch that stuff. But not my personal stuff." Tony turns around and walks backwards toward the large standing console area. "And no, that's not an innuendo. At the moment." He turns away.
"JARVIS, power on, the works. We have a guest, so be polite and refrain from your constant outbursts of profanity."
The laboratory keys on and several of the holographic displays flash into life. Then the polite voice of the AI says, << Welcome to Stark Tower, Ms. Gordon. I shall indeed attempt to not offend you with my conversational tone. >>
    "Thanks, buddy."
Oracle has posed:
"Do you have little tags for what is your personal stuff?" That's the natural question to ask in return at all the warnings coming from Tony about his sanctuary. "This is feeling a lot like you are bringing me to your man cave." just a touch of amusement creasing the side of her lips, creating a small dimple, "So many rules."

It's not like Barbara doesn't have a LOT of rules to her own cave too. Or rather, her aerie. Totally not a cave. It's an important distinction!

Still, it was a shift in their working relationship. She knew Tony didn't bring many people here the same way she doesn't bring people to the aerie. Not the underserving ones at least. "Hello, Jarvis. I am sure you will be the perfect gentleman." to contrast with his master? She doesn't say it. Instead she continues following Tony down the stairs, the echo of her high heeled black boots heard. The rest of her body is clad casually in a pair of bell-bottom jeans, a cropped shirt that shows some midriff and a leather jacket to compose the wardrobe. She did drive her motobike here after all.

"What have you uncovered so far?" she asks.
Iron Man has posed:
"Just count your lucky stars I'm not showing you my etchings." Tony says as he does a little turn around pirouette, hands in the pockets of his jeans, then he hops backward and drops into one of the overly cushioned office chairs that sits in front of one of the work desks. It sliiiiiiiides along the floor, the wheels whirring as he casually tap-tap-taps a key on each keyboard as he rolls by.
Which is what brings up a myriad of data on the screens, showing an immense amount of code on the left-most, cascading with a series of red and blue highlights. Then in the middle is a conglomerte sixteen video feed showing various points of interest during the security breach. While the right most hologram display shows several of the faces of the 'persons of interest' that were involved with the situation.
"So far we have the hack, got a blueprint of it, the steps taken, lightning quick. We have the suit breakdown, and JARVIS' code harvest." A brief aside as he calls out upwards to the ceiling, "Sorry buddy, had to be done."
    << I understand perfectly, sir. >>
"We also have the camera feeds of a particular restaurant in Manhattan that each of the men involved, albeit peripherally, with the security breach... all went to eat by themselves, and proceeded to get contacted by someone electronically through a tight beam transmission of some sort. So basically..."
Tony slides back on that office chair, "Here are all the pieces of the puzzle. Some you've seen before. But now, here. Go crazy."
A pause then he asks, "I'm getting hungry. Are you hungry? I'm thinking Chinese."
Oracle has posed:
"I won't even ask." About the etchings? Yet soon enough Barbara's attention is absorbed by what is showing on the screens, even with Tony's antics in sliding across his man cave in his chair and poking each keyboard in turn like playing a perfectly synced orchestra. In truth it most likely was one. Geniuses don't do any less where it comes to having their lairs fully set to their specifications. It's not like Bruce's lair was any different. Another man cave.

The woman doesn't claim a chair, continuing to stand as she approaches the monitors. Arms fold together as she takes in what's showing there, listening to Tony's explanation, "Were you able to intercept that transmission? Or any of those men so far?" she inquires. It was usually a good place to start. Humans are fallible after all and they crack with the right incentive.

"Now, let's see what they were looking for." and she leans over one of the keyboards to start typing on it, bringing up a few more windows to inspect the code and the break. "And you said they didn't take anything?"
Iron Man has posed:
"We got two, nice thing, they were already in custody for other charges. Apparently..." Tony turns in that chair, resting his arms on it and crossing a leg over his knee. "During their next... heist... or caper. What word is better? I think I like caper. More whimsical."
He takes a short breath, then nods to the display, "On their next caper, an anonymous tip put the police on both of them. The other two operatives aren't in the country, so don't have the latest word on them. Still."
Tony rolls up to his feet and steps forward showing a display of Stark Tower and the various 'hot points' that were at risk during the security incident. "Each of them were operating apart. None of them had prior communications, and they each were doing a task that seemed... to be blunt, pointless. But in concert with the actions of the others, created a 17 second window through which the hacker was able to get in..."
He takes a deep breath and tells Batgirl what she already knows, but the severity of it still gets to him. "And seize control of the Mark 4 suit. I recovered it quickly enough, it was apparently being used in a robbery for some reason. But a robbery none of the men knew about."
He rests his hands on his hips and chews his lower lip thoughtfully. "So we either have a comedy of coincidental errors, or a mastermind, or someone extremely... lucky? Which are power profiles we've encountered."
Oracle has posed:
"Interesting ..." Barbara says as she gets fully involved in discovering the mystery behind this attack. It's hard to figure out what she listens out of what Tony is saying specially as she really doesn't react to it. At least not right ahead, continuing to taptap on her keyboard with the kind of intensity of someone that's used to doing this for a living. And with the genius to go with the hard work, considering she has become Oracle in the last few years.

It's clearly she's going down a particular path the more they investigate, pulling on a yarn ball as if a cat, "The way they did it. This was not a simple operation, and the men had no previous relation before. In fact they come from very different backgrounds.." their rap sheet appearing up on screen, "Mmmmm..." she stops, the rap sheets disappearing from screen and she brings up the code. "The way it was done, exquisite. And it tells me your system had been under surveillance for a long time already. Taking advantage of that phone system? It would take months before that was uncovered." maybe a month for someone like her. But she was high up there. "The weird thing is that such a long time surveillance would had been detected. I don't believe there was any surveillance beyond one or two weeks at most." she frowns a touch.

"You may want to order that chinese. We may be staying here for a while."
Iron Man has posed:
As she speaks, Tony nods along with her words, keeping his mouth shut for once. His eyes flit back and forth to the data displays, to her, back to the displays. He listens and then adds a small bit near the middle, "It looked like, to me, that whomever was putting it together didn't want any of the moving parts seeing each other. Secrecy was paramount, even to the detriment of the chance of success. So..." He lets that last word hang there for a time.
Then she points out that the surveillance had to have been in place for a long time and he nods, "I had AVINA," His other recent AI project, "Go through the daily recordings for every security camera in a mile radius, and she could not identify any patterns."
He then leans over and sweeps a hand through one of the hologaphic displays. The image of the four perps is replaced with a series of menus that he picks one at random and gestures it up into the air where JARVIS takes control of the ordering.
"What gets me. We have this plan. This... operation. Exquisitely planned down to the smallest detail. Executed with supremely heightened secrecy. And what did they do with it? I mean stealing my tech is a good thing. But it seemed like... they got the tech. And had no idea what they really wanted to do with it. A miracle of planning, neutered by its own success."
Which she can likely tell it does stick in his craw, as he does't even make a wisecrack about it. He shakes his head and then, finally, takes a deep breath. Exhales softly. "So. General Tso's?"
Oracle has posed:
"Yes, as if what to do -after- achieving success hadn't been part of the operation." Barbara in agreement with Tony as they go through the evidence. Expression creases again as Tony admits not having found any patterns in surveillance. Yet her focus remains on that little snag that's pulling at her brain. The why. "I will admit this is the kind of break in I am not even certain I could do with this kind of precision. All was meticulously prepared, error was kept to a minimum. But break ins are done for a reason. And I am having some trouble figuring out the reason for this one...." she finally finds a chair to sit back on, hand surging up to rub the back of her neck, thoughtful...

"Unless..." and her eyes turn up, bright as something comes to mind, "... I did these in the past. Lower scale obviously, but sometimes I would break into a place just to see if I could. Take nothing but it was part of my learning process." she didn't actually study IT in college after all. "It feels as if this was someone .., learning? If it makes sense to you. The suit was taken but they had no idea what to do with it, as if they had no experience with crime and just sent it to ..." she looks back at Tony, "... What was it? A bank robbery? The classic..."

As for the pizza. "No olives. And people may get murdered if it has any pineapple."
Iron Man has posed:
"If this was someone's... practice exercise, then that's... impressive." Tony says, then his features twist into a frown. "And annoying. I think I'm annoyed. No. Wait... ok yeah, annoyed."
He crinkles his nose and for a moment he leans forward and scrolls some of the data, keying one of the fields to slice down and reveal more of the deeper readings. Only for him to be brought back by the change in cuisine.
"Wait, pizza now? Well. Alright. What's a few extra hours on the treadmill, right?" He lifts his head, "JARVIS, pizza. You know the drill."
    "Of course, sir."
