Location: A Secluded Spot
Synopsis: Logan and Rogue go on a date somewhere special
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Wolverine

Rogue has posed:
It's a good thing Rogue has super strength and a man that trusts her completely. Cause not a lot of people would be willing to go along with 'put this on, don't take it off and trust me', only to wind up in a blindfold and hoisted into the air. There's no way to determine how long they were in the skies, but after a little while, she finally seems to land them somewhere.

From scent alone, Logan can telll they're in a wooded area, but there's also some floral scents in the air as well as water. The sound of a waterfall nearby can be heard once one begins to pay attention. Then, the blindfold is removed and Logan is gifted the sight of a wooded clearing, complete with waterfall into a small lake, and an already set up picnic. Checkboard blanket included. Along with some tastes of home. The chicken and potatoes may be chilled (luke warm at best) but there's something about left over food fresh from the fridge that just does a southern heart some good.

"...Surprise?"
Wolverine has posed:
Logan feels like he's on a rollercoaster for a moment. How there can be a sudden rush upward. The adrenaline that rushes into a person as they're flung in one direction. That's what it's like to fly with someone sometimes, especially if the circumstances are dire.

However, when they land, Logan feels the calm that comes after the rush. Looking around he tries to figure out where they are, but Logan can't. They're in a remote spot, it almost feels like Rogue dumped them into a storybook. Everything is very picturesque.

"What's this for darlin'?" Logan asks, as he is genuinely surprised and not hiding it. Those blue eyes move about trying to drink in details.

How the calm small lake is a contrast to the rushing waterfall, the smell of the flowers moving up his nose, similar scents of the trees and grass doing the same thing as their flowery bretheren, how it's very green, very peaceful and very quiet. "Then ya top it all off wit' the blanket n' picnic. I'm expectin' ya to dress like a fifties housewife n' hand me a martini or somethin' like that," he's genuinely touched. And he may feel like there's a lack of proper dress. Logan's just in a button up flannel shirt, a pair of comfortable blue jeans and the light brown cowboy boots. A contrast to the 1950s gentleman.
Rogue has posed:
"I just figured after everything for the last little bit, you and I could use down downtime. Some you and me time, but like... to talk and share a meal and such." Not just lay it all out on a bed and work out problems that way. Though Rogue won't say it in such a vulgar manner. She glances to the picnic, the little lake, waterfall, and then back to him.

"...Do you like it?"
Wolverine has posed:
"I can't tell if ya time traveled, ripped open a hole in reality, or found the American equivilant to places I sought out in Japan. Either way, I like it," Logan gives a nod as he is truly impressed.

He moves to the blanket, "I don't mind talkin'. I'm just afraid of fightin'. Ya know why I'm on edge. And there's Psylocke wth her X-Force idea. I worry 'bout that, too," Logan admits and tries to pull out some form of plate because the food does smell good. Yes, he can smell it.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue shakes her head. "I don't wanna argue. But I also don't want you worryin' about stuff that you ain't got control over. You need to step back from that ledge a bit. Not everything can fall into yer hands, Logan. And if ya keep expectin' to be the one to catch everything, yer only gonna wind up droppin' it all." She says this while moving to sit on the blanket across from him.

The basket contains fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac'n'cheese, coleslaw, two thermoses of sweet tea and four of his favorite brand of canadian beer. "You know I'm right. So what can I do to help?"
Wolverine has posed:
"It's not that I expect to catch everythin'. X-Force is gonna cross lines. I know what crossin' those lines mean, the burdens they bring, but what if someone else can't take it? What if they cross that line? There's no takin' it back.

He sighs and shakes his head, "And that's not even takin' in one simple question. 'What if Psylocke's wrong?'" Because that could mean so many different things. If time isn't like a plate of pasta with intersecting points, and a lot more rigid, all of the work could be for nothing. What if she creates something worse? What if the actions create the world she's trying to prevent, like her own personal version of Ragnorok. Logan knows the -many- avenues that question could take.

"I just think there's another way n' I don't know what it is," he sighs openly.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue shakes her head. "Why do you think you gotta be the one to question it all. I ain't tryin' to argue. I'm tryin' to understand. People make mistakes. Big and small. I've made some, you've made some, hell I'm sure even Jean and Scott have made some. And on the flip side. What if she's right and she winds up doin' good for the sake of X-Force?" Rogue asks this while she fixes up two plates of food as if this is just a casual every day conversation.

"All I'm really askin' is for you to put it away for a night. It's just you an' me here with nothin' else to worry about. Okay?"
Wolverine has posed:
"'Cause the stakes are higher wit' her team," Logan says honestly one that one.

And then he nods about putting it aside. "Just needed to get it out," because Logan has been keeping it in. His gaze going to her for a moment. "So, what do normal people talk 'bout?" he asks softly.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue blinks, thinks on it and then blinks again. "I... don't really know... but then. We ain't really normal are we?" She laughs lightly at that and sets one of the plates in front of him along with some plasticware and a beer.

Then she tilts her head back to look up at the stars. "Amazin' how all it takes is comin' out somewhere quiet and the skies just open up..."
Wolverine has posed:
"We never been," Logan chuckles a littl bit. His gaze goes up to the sky, "Yeah. It does," he admits softly then looks back down to her. "So, three things ya still wanna do but heaven't," Logan asks thnking it's a good place to start there. He takes the beer and begins to take the first drink from t. "Mmmmmmm." Logan holds back a comment for a moment.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue opens up her thermos of tea to take a slow drink, thinking on the question. "Hmmn... well... ride a horse is one..." She offers. "Oh, go do one of those paint a plate things... where you get to paint a pre-made pottery thing like a plate or something? That sounds fun..." Then she laughs. "And skydive. Which I know sounds silly but... yeah..."
Wolverine has posed:
"Well ya got the ultimate safety harness, if yer chute fails ya can fly," Logan chuckles a little bit. His gaze goes to the chicken. Working on that one slowly, "The pottery thiing might be fun once," he admits. It's nothing he would do multiple times, but as a "Why not?" type of activity. It could be fun.
Rogue has posed:
"I'm sure that list for you is a lot shorter... or weirder..." Rogue says, giving a light chuckle as she does. "Also, what were you goin' to say a moment ago? You had that look like you were thinkin' real hard but then decided not to say anything..."
Wolverine has posed:
"I was thinkin' of what my three things would be. Maybe some kinda deep sea diving," Logan thinks on it more as he takes a bite of the chicken. hewing on his food and thinking on it a little bit. He has to do things that haven't really been done before. This is to two people that are arguably fighting aliens.

"That's the thin' a few of my things would be doin' things again, but maybe wit' company this time. It ain't things I haven't done," he amits. "Just changin' the circumstances n' that," he admits. Then starts to work on the chicken more.
Rogue has posed:
"Yeah. Makes sense..." Rogue offers and then she begins to work on her food. Chicken first, a few bites, then some mashed potatoes. Silence lets the ambiance of the growing night come into play. There's an owl, a chittering of what may be a coyote or fox, some rustling bushes nearby with roosting birds settling down for the night. After a moment, she looks up at Logan and smiles. "I love you."
Wolverine has posed:
"I love you, too, darlin'. I really do," Logan says as the ambiance of night is coming forward. He is finishing up the chicken now. Taking some turns to work on the potaotes sometimes.

"You really wanted us to go to the middle of nowhere. I like it," he says knowing that everything around them is so far removed from the everyday chaos of their own lives. It's a nice change of pace.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue smiles and just continues eating and drinking for a moment. "I really did. Figured getting away from all the chaos. Take some time to reset. Might do us some good..." Saying this much around a bite of food and as she chews she looks up again. "Oh look! A shooting star!" She points. "...Make a wish!"
Wolverine has posed:
"It helps. A lot. Makes me remember how abnormal we are, but maybe we need it," Logan says knowing they can be different. Both as individuals and as a pair compaired to others.

"Beats what I woulda done," before she can ask, Logan answers, "Lethal Weapon Marathon," Logan has a soft spot for some semi-modern movies. Mostly acton films. The Lethal Weapon movies, the earlier Die Hards, and similar. He has been on a Lethal Weapon kick.

"Ummmm. Uhhh. What?" Logan says knowing what a shooting star means. Usually, he's the one telling someone to make a wish. It feels like she caught him offguard, but he eventually tries.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue closes her eyes for a moment and silently makes her own wish. After she opens her eyes, she chuckles. "Did you make one? You can't say it outloud or it won't come true." Saying such like she really means it. Hell in their lives, anything is possible right? Never the less, she looks up again and a few more 'falling stars' appear. "Oooh, might be a meteor shower..." A glance to him then. "We can do movie marathons next if you want."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan looks at her, "Yes n' everyone knows that," Logan says honestly about that one.

"Maybe," Logan says thinking that's the most likely phenomina they're witnessing.

"I know my taste don't vary and you've probably seen most of what I like that ain't old Japanese movies," Logan knows his movie tastes are not for everyone.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue shrugs. "I'm sure there's a few things that I do that aren't quite in your tastes and you just put up with them.." Commenting that much while working on some of the coleslaw and washing it down with tea. "That's what being in a relationship is about. Sharing things. Doing things we like together and apart...together. Or..somethin'. I had a thought there, I swear.."
