Chilling at the Club
Date of Scene: 23 September 2023
Location: Bushwick (Mutant Town), Brooklyn
Synopsis: Lorna and Ororo.
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Storm

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane has been absent from the spotlight for a few weeks now, although she's never been a team regular, and although it seems her father has been doing some of his own investigation into things, she has been largely absent there as well. But now she is back, and while big noisy clubs aren't really her thing, she is just looking for a relaxing drink and meal after a long trip back, too tired to cook or worry about healthy food before heading home.

This late morning the club is fairly quiet which is just fine with her. Stepping in, she is clothed in a silvery blouse, black jeans and black leather jacket although there is no hiding the emerald green shoulder length hair that marks her as a mutant. Fortunately this is a mutant friendly club and it doesn't take her long to find a quiet booth table.
Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe hasn't exactly been claiming the spotlight herself, though when you're a teacher and a weather goddess and a superheroine and reformed thief (okay, that /was/ a long long time ago...) you're too busy for spotlights usually. But she's not so busy she can't sneak out to unwind and enjoy some music and low lighting, even if mid-day means the lights are actually up a little bit, and the music's not a live concert or anything.

But it's a fine excuse to get out and dress up a little in proper club excess, a pair of sleek leather pants clinging to long legs and full hips, disappearing into a pair of sharply heeled boots, a black leather sleeveless vest with silver buttons on top, left open to reveal a silvery bandeau style top keeping her some level of modest but baring plenty of midriff as long as that vest is left open.

Perched at the bar, long legs stretched in front of her, Ororo's just people watching. Right up until she spots unmistakable style, and iconic green hair. She lets Lorna get comfortable in her booth before making her way over, accented voice singing out, "My my, if I don't spy my /favorite/ magnetic mistress!"
Polaris has posed:
Right now the music is pretty soft and chill. The live, energetic music usually doesn't come til late at night so it's mostly music flowing through the radio right now. She is focused on her own work, pouring over the results she found up North with a slight frown..It takes a moment or two for her to snap back to reality, blinking slowly as she recognizes Ororo, and offers her a small, tired smile.

"Ororo, how nice to meet you here! I feel as if I haven't seen you in forever. Please, join me..Tell me how you've been?" today she seems pretty chill if not a bit sleepy, jet lag will do that to you. She has a basket of nachos with all the trimmings and she shoves it towards Ororo. "Hungry?"
Storm has posed:
There's a warm little smile on Ororo's lips as she watches Lorna pour over data and information... she /could/ make fun of the green haired woman for clearly doing important work in a dance club... but, well, she's been known to fly into a hurricane when troubling herself over a particularly vexing problem. So, really, that's far more sensible than her own methods.

She slips into the booth with a soft little laugh, "Well, that's how our lives go isn't it? I haven't really been up to anything dramatic. Getting into gear for the school year, handling some dangerous weather patterns in the Pacific last week..." She sighs and shakes her head, "Next time I should take the Blackbird and invite you and some others along and we can stop at a tropical island for a couple days of vacation."

Eyes dart to the basket of nachos and reaches out to snag one, "I'd say I wasn't, but... /nachos/..." She glances up to Lorna again with a crooked little smile. "And how are you? Is all well? Should I be preparing to strike someone with unseasonable snow for causing trouble for you?"
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane smirks a little and nods slowly as she listens, sipping thoughtfully on her coffee and cream, "Hmm, strange weather patterns huh? Would that be El Nino or La Nina or polar vortex?" she sighs, "Seems there are always new strange patterns, but hopefully it doesn't mean something foreboding.."

With a sigh, she rubs her eyes, reaching hungrily for some nachos, dipping them in cheese sauce and finally decides to collect her notes, putting them away. "Just came back from a work related trip up north, studying strange rock formations in Antarctica..It was cold, long and dark..Glad to be back but hard to forget. A tropical island sounds lovely, we should definitely do that sometime. It feels like forever since I touched base with the Xmen..Wonder if I'm still welcome down there?"
Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe shakes her head with a low sigh, "Nah, just a couple of particularly strong typhoons that could've been bad if they'd been allowed to fully form. Also one mad science operation with a weather device. It was... less than lightning proof." She shudders and shakes her head, "I'm hoping we don't get any polar vortices this winter... the excuse for extra hot cocoa is /not/ worth the chill, is it?"

She grins crookedly and narrows her eyes, "Why, Lorna! We've got a pool and I can guarantee an unseasonably warm and sunny day if you want to lounge by it. Or we can use the sauna. You are, of course /always/ welcome to visit us. We can probably even find a spare bedroom if you'd like to stay awhile if you get tired of living in a literal palace in Genosha, hm?"
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane chuckles a bit at Ororo's adventures, shaking her head, "Crazy, people trying to control something they know nothing about..I'll bet you'd make a great weather reporter." she sighs wistfully, "But it must require a lot of work on your end to make sure the weather around the world is in balance.." she sighs wistfully, balance is something she's not so great at.

"How do you do it..?" mention of a nice warm pool does cause her to smile softly nodding, "Sounds great, I'd love to drop by some time.."
Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe laughs softly and grins, "Oh, I think I could rock one of those sleek blazer and skirt news reporter combos... then again, I could dress like that as a /teacher/ too... hmmm." Eyebrows perk in playful thoughtful expression. "Honestly, mostly the weather handles itself, I try not to meddle unless things will risk suffering and casualties or if I can sense the weather /isn't/ natural..."

She smiles even wider and offers a little wink as she plucks up another nacho, "Well, you /do/ have my number, right? Any time you want to hit a club, enjoy the mansion, drop by my attic and just hang out and unwind, I'm yours."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane arches a curious brow, "Unnatural weather huh..Wonder what causes that, I mean, besides crazy scientist experiments gone wrong or evil villains trying to take over the world?" she smirks wryly, sipping slowly on her coffee.

Ororo is given another nod, "Yes, I have your number still, I must apologize for my absence, Zi feel like my attention is often torn in many directions."
Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe shrugs and sighs out, "Magic? Time traveler invoking the butterfly effect? I try not to dwell on the why's, and just focus on stopping the storms... it's easier that way."

She nods an smiles crookedly, "Well, there's that entire mutant nation, your sister, your brother, your work, your powers... I don't think anyone blames you for feeling spread thin, Lorna. But I'll help you unwind whenever you need it."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane nods, finishing her coffee, "Youre right, it's probably too complicated to think about it." she yawns and stretches, "Well, yes..There's a lot of other things I do need to tend to, but I will never forget my mutant friends..And hopefully my father hasn't been causing trouble for the Xmen recently either?"
Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe grins crookedly and bobs her head, eyes narrowing playfully as she chimes out, "Well, not that I've heard of. Heck, apparently even Juggernaut's been behaved enough I got an email about him having a visitor pass.... which probably means we're all doomed for some /new/ threat to show up. But until then, you take it easy Lorna, or I'll hunt you down and /make/ you relax like friends should!" She reaches out for the basket of nachos and chimes out, "You go do your important work and I'll make sure these nachos don't feel lonely."
