Synopsis: Skye and Nat catch up
Cast of Characters: Black Widow (Romanoff), Quake

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Knock Knock Knock.

The familiar summons was heard from the front door. Which thankfully was not unexpected by the resident inside. After all, this was 2031. No One answered their door unless they knew who would be on the other side. It was something that had come around in the last couple of decades, where the ease of connectivity with others through cellphones had made the idea of dropping in on a friend unexpectedly extinct.

Natasha had called ahead. And she came bearing gifts. A brown paper bag had the alcohol purchased from the locatl shop and the other hand had the take-out delivery. Food. Drink. Friends.

Should be a good night of catching up.
Quake has posed:
"You know," Skye opened the door and let Natasha in, "if the door is unlocked? You're welcome."

Then again? Since the core group had been sent to various places on missions, and Clint had finally stopped pretending he was 'coming over..in a few days..' days had turned into months.. Or was it a year? The door was left open only by a rote those days. Really she should lock it - the only one who came over nowadays was Natasha and she can't even remember if she had always knocked.

Some people were old fashioned like that.

"What did you buy?" She grinned. "Not that frou-frou beer?" Mind you, she didn't like it when she and Clint used to drink it. But that was an in-joke for them. No reason to drink it anymore. "Talk or movie? It's your choice."
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Why not both?"

And Natasha stepped in, nudging the door closed behind her with the toe of her boot then using the hand with the takeout to flick the locks into action. Because while Skye was more trusting, Natasha had been in the game far too long for that. She always locked everything. Because she knew that sometimes the second it took to kick in the door or pick the lock was all there was between her getting shot on a couch or having time to move and get her own weapon in hand.

Paranoia didn't mean they /weren't/ out to get you.

"No frou-frou beer. Got something to put hair on your chest. Bourbon, Whiskey, and Vodka. All top shelf brands," she added to make sure that it was known she wasn't going to make her friend suffer the cheap stuff. No one liked rotgut. They might drink it but they didn't like it.

"And Mexican food. Coronas to go with unless you prefer something else, then I can go get it. Maybe I should've gotten tequila." She moved to the counter in the kitchen and began unloading bags.
Quake has posed:
"You are going to make it so that I can't log on later, aren't you?" As far as Skye cared, what Nat had brought over to drink sounded good. "I wonder is there a mixed drink that involves all the types you brought over?"

Could they make one and name it..

Following Nat to the kitchen she took out some tumblers, asking, "If we made it, what would we name it?" Pausing at the cupboards, "Do you feel for human plates, or the actual take containers?"

Of course Grant and Ward decided to peruse what the humans brought them. Being cats, everything became theirs.
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I'm fine with the takeout containers. Unless you just really want to give your dishwasher extra work," Natasha asked as she took out four or five different metallic round dishes with covers on them.

She wasn't sure if there was a drink with all the options in it. She started lining up the bottles. Though she did put the vodka in the freezer because it should always be served chilled. Sure, it could be poured over ice but that watered it down as the ice melted. No one liked that! Or they shouldn't. Natasha was very judgy on vodka drinkers.

Natasha eyed the cats a moment but then went back to the conversation. "You can log on later. It's call drunk gaming. Or so I've been told."
Quake has posed:
Skye laughed, "Only if you do too."

She agrees that take out containers were easiest. Much better for cleaning up!

"I'm warning you, the movies that I have got are pretty old. We could rent one?" Bullcrap. Why pay when you could hack it? "I've got The Five Deadly Venoms. Mulan - the cartoon, of course. And for no reason I can think of, Pretty Woman." She makes a strange face with that one.

All the while she put some of the rice on the extra container and pushed the remainder over to Nat.
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Natasha got one of the cold Coronas and added a little slice of lime to the neck of it before grabbing her own dish which happened to be enchiladas. Then off to the living room where she settled on the couch. Her boots were kicked off, leaving her in socks which allowed her to tuck her feet up under her as she relaxed. Just making herself at home.

"We can play Call of Duty while wasted later. That should be fun. Shit talk all the squeakers." Because that was a nickname for the super young sounding gamers out there by the older generation. "Adults too. I'm not just picking on the kids."

At the list of the movies, she gave a shrug. "Pick something. I really have no preference. Not sure I've seen Mulan or Pretty Woman."
Quake has posed:
"Mulan it is. It's okay. Lot's of fighting. songs. And the girl saves the day. Take off the last ten minutes? You will love it."

Skye filled up her container, and followed Nat with a Corona of her own.

Scooching the cats back on to the floor, where they proceeded to get back on the couch, Skye sat cross legged on the opposite end. "Geez, it's been.. ugh.. too long since I have played. Probably lost my status. Ready?"

She's got the dvd set up, ready to go.
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I don't think I've played since ...Black Ops?" Because she did try it but Natasha wasn't really a gamer after all. Given they lived it in their work, it wasn't quite as appealing as it would be to someone that it was just a lark.

"What's wrong with the last ten minutes?" she has to ask because now she's really not sure what to think about the movie. "I mean I know it's animated. Disney. Based on a Chinese legend I think."
Quake has posed:
Skye *looked* at Nat.

"The girl who has taken the whole movie to show that she is just as good as a man, denies the Emperor to go back to her family and settle down."

Of course, she might be a titch anti-marriage.

"Okay. It's Disney. But still." The DVD began. "I probably should know more about my pseudo heritage. I'm sure the actual legend isn't so princess oriented."
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Huh." And that was the summation of her opinion on it since she hadn't seen it. Natasha settled in to watch it. Though her attention was admittedly a bit more on her food at the moment.

She did squeeze the lime wedge to add that tartness to her drink and then shoved the wedge down into the Corona fully. A quick sip of that as she got started. "We haven't talked in ages. What've you been up to?" she asked to get that conversation flowing.
