A Certain Homecoming
Date of Scene: 15 November 2023
Location: Logan's Cabin - Breakstone Lake
Synopsis: Logan and Rogue finally get some time together.
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Wolverine

Rogue has posed:
Rogue isn't sure if Logan would even go back to the Sailor's Pub and get the message she left with the barkeep. Or even if the barkeep would actually pass along the message that she left for Logan. A lot of variables up in the air, but Rogue had to trust that something might actually go right and she'd see Logan sometime soon.

So, she waits at the cabin. She cleans. She cooks. Cleans again. Tidies. Drinks his beer (replacing it of course) and she's brought in some of her own things. Sodas for one, some supplies to make southern food if she's in the mood for it. Though, really, she's mostly been surviving off sandwiches, soda, and old movies.

This afternoon is no different, except she's out in the garden tending to weeds, tossing out some fertilizer and watering the plants. Checking for bugs and grubs, that the plants are mostly healthy. Anything to keep her mind busy when all it wants to think about is seeing him again.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan walks into the cabin thinking that it's going to be Laura there. He slips in through the back, which is how Rogue goes unnoticed. inside the place he gives a look around thinking "Laura musta had company that can cook."

Heavy footfalls follow him as he moves through the cabin. Rogue might be able to hear them. She might be able to see him, a simple glance through the window would be no different.

Ocean blue eyes are heavy. He'll move to the bedroom. Then pull out a black and greyish-silver color. His gaze runs over the uniform. "It's gonna see blood, y'know that, right?" That's what weighs on Logan. It's what has put him in a mood (partially).
Rogue has posed:
Rogue's ears do twitch a bit, but at first she's not sure if she's just imagining things or playing tricks on herself. When the boots make more noise she looks, spying Logan through the door, which has her dropping everything and running to the front of the cabin, bursting through the door and into the bedroom. "Logan!" She says this before throwing arms around him, nearly crying as she does so. "Goddess bless...I've missed you so much..." She's not even upset, just relieved to see him again.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan's almost tackled as she comes at him. "Hey Darlin'," Logan tries to put a hand on hers, somethiing to assure her. His gaze goes toward the woman. "You alrght?" Then he rubs at her arms a lttel bit expecting an earful. So, he just braces himself after a moment of sweetness he wishes would stretch out forever.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue says, "I was just getting worried. You weren't answering my texts...or the few calls I made..." Rogue says this as she cuddles up into him while they stand there. "I'm fine...I think I should be asking you the same thing. Are you alright? Is there anything wrong?" Asking this before giving a kiss to his cheek and then nuzzling into his neck for a moment. Sweetness she has in spades cause she's not really mad at him, just worried."
Wolverine has posed:
"I was dealin' wit' things," and Rogue can see the costume. The stealth uniform. Something that designed for blood, violence and covert actions. It's something she knows and if it's out, dark times could be coming. Ocean blue eyes look toward her for a moment. "I'm joinin' Psylocke's team. I ain't happy 'bout it, but it's gonna be that way," he says honestly. It's a little confusing, but Logan finally made terms wth a decision.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue blinks. Then notices the costume and blinks again when Logan explains a few things. "Joinin' Psylocke's team? What d'you mean you're joining Psylocke's team? Is that the X-Force shit people have been whisperin' about?" She takes a step back then before looking him over from head to toe and back again until she meets his eyes. "If you're joinin' her team, then I am too."
Wolverine has posed:
"Yeah," Logan says low, hating himself for it. It's the truth, but it's a situation that he's not happy about. Then he pauses and the oomph returns to hs voice. "Outta the question! Ya can't get blood like that off'a yer hands. I don't want ya takin' that risk. Already got blood on mine darlin'," Logan says honestly. And that's the thing for him. It's never about actually killing someone, but living with the guilt of their death. The heaviness that a life ended because of -you-. That's a heavy burden for most.
Rogue has posed:
"Who the hell do you think you are tellin' ME what I can or can't do? If YOU do this, then I do it too... And don't you think to try an' preach to me about the heavy guilt of death when you know god damn well that I happen to /absolutely/ know what that feels like. Every fucking day..." Rogue puts hands on hips as she scowls at Logan for the first time in a long time. "What the hell sort of risk is it that you can do but I can't? Huh? Aside from possibly killin' people..."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan hears that bass in her voice. The thunder that comems with those emotions. "The blood on mine is thicker," Logan's willing to take the bullet on this one. Then he pauses and shakes his head. "I can't stop ya," Logan will never say, "I want you to join." But a neutral response s him accepting the circumstances. He can't forbid Rogue from doing anything. The next part he's a bit clearer about. "She thinks she's stoppin' somethin' like what happens -after- the rapture. I think she's causin' it,"
Rogue has posed:
"Blood is blood, Logan. It ain't about who's killed more than whom. We've both got blood on our hands. End of." Rogue says this much more and then takes a breath and relaxes her stance a little. "Besides, I gotta make sure you don't wind up doin' anything too stupid. And m'sure you'd do the same with me...cause that's how this works." She motions between the two of them and then shifts to fold her arms across her chest, listening to the last bit that he explains. By the time he's done, one of her eyebrows has lofted upwards. "If you think she's causing it, then why the hell did you sign up in the first place? What sort of end of the world nonsense is going about now?"
Wolverine has posed:
"I know ya got blood on yer hands," Logan says honestly. It's part of her past they don't really talk about. It's something he leaves in the past. It's not what she would do now.

Seeng that stance just tells Logan that she's dggng her heels in the ground. There's no moving Ruge on this one. He'd have better luck moving a mighty oak, well rooted into the ground, than her. "Don't say I didn't warn ya," it's acceptance wth tons of reluctancy. Logan knows he cannot stop her.

"To find the spot where I feel she crosses a line n' stop her. I'll know it when I see it," Logan admits honestly as he is trying to show Rogue his angle. He's not going to push the needle, but the best way to stop it would be somewhere close.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue sighs and drops her arms to her side before moving to the kitchen to grab him a beer and her a can of soda. She pops the top off the beer before offering it to him. "Just promise me you'll be careful. And meet me in the middle. I won't join officially...but if you need help. If you need me..." She lets that comment trail off and then moves to sit in a spot she's made for herself by the window, opening it and going through the motions to light up a cigarette. Course, this doesn't mean she may not trail him sometimes depending on where he might be going or what he might be doing. She points to the uniform he's holding. "Are you putting that on or just getting it out for when you need to leave?"
Wolverine has posed:
"You can join. They wear black n' silver," he says pointing out the motiff of the uniform. Logan will take the beer. "Ya either decide to join now or we fight 'bout it later. Take it if yer heart screams to do it," this is her in. Rogue has to either rush toward it or run away.

Taking the beer he puts the glass bottle to his lips. Taking apull frm it, the question gets answered after he swallows. "Just lookin' at it," he admits. It's a lot to take in. He's tryng to just come ot terms with everything.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue takes a drag off her cigarette as she seems to be contemplating it for a lingering moment. In the end, she knows that it's likely best to NOT join him. So he has something to look forward to coming back to when it's all said and done. "No. I won't join. I want to..but this is a you deal...you just stop whatever is coming however you have to. And I'll be waiting for you to come back to me." She says this, flicks askes, and then leans back in her seat so she can turn her head and look out the window. The sounds of water hitting the earth begin to trickle in through the open window, getting louder as the rain comes down harder.
Wolverine has posed:
"Yer makin' me feel bad n' you'd look good in all the black," Logan says masking genuine emotion with his equivilant to snark. Rogue would know he's being honest. "Don't matter, if yer here too return to, or fightin' to make sure we collapse somewhere togetehr. Yer call darlin'," Logan says jut makng it abundantly clear that he is brought over toward the idea of her joining the team. It's oopen for her to do so.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue chuckles and then nods. "Alright. Fine. Black and Silver. I'm sure I've got a suit that matches those colors..." She says this much and then finishes her cigarette, mashing it out in the ashtray on the table. Then she stands and walks back over to him. "Now that all that is out of the way...why don't we have the reunion we've likely both been hoping for..." She smirks, turning her voice to just this side of sultry southern as she reaches him - nearly standing toe to toe with him.
Wolverine has posed:
A nod will come from him. "Sure I deserve a greetin' like that?" Logan asks wth a raised brow. He expected more hurt, anger r sadness from Rogue. He -almost- doesn't trust this. He trusts Rogue, but there's some caution to everything. Ocean blue eyes will focus n her for a moment.
