A long long day..
Date of Scene: 26 November 2023
Location: Apartment A2 - Summers - Mutant Town
Synopsis: Alex and Lorna discuss their new purpose in mutant town.
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Havok

Polaris has posed:
There has been trouble in mutant town lately, and rumours of a dragon wreaking Havok in downtown. But it had vanished as quickly as it arrived thanks to Firestar and Quake..

Whatever role PoLaris played, she had been laying low and disappeared as quickly as she came. Really she's not big on the spotlight.

However, the nearest haven was Alex's apartment and while she still hadn't moved in officially she no doubt has a spare key which she used to let herself in before crumpling exhausted on the sofa.

Dressed in her green uniform, she at least hasn't suffered any major injuries, just a few cuts and scrapes. But she sure looks exhausted.
Havok has posed:
Havok walks in and glances around his eyes land on Lorna. "Where have you been darlin?" He asks curiously before taking a breath seeing the cuts and scrapes and look of exhaustion he says. "What the hell happened??"
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane sighs and stretches out on the couch, "Mmm, that's a loaded question...Where do I even begin?" she peers at him with a smile. "Hmm a massage would be nice though while I tell you all the 'fun' I've been up to.."
Havok has posed:
Havok shakes his head sighing as he moves around behind the couch. "I thought we talked about heroics. And don't tell me it wasn't you're in your costume." He smirks as he begins to massage her shoulders.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane shakes her head. "Didn't have a choice, Spiral just kinda dropped into town for a visit, started messing with ley lines and nearly imploded a bowling alley, I had to do something.." she sighs, leaning into him, relaxing.
Havok has posed:
Havok keeps massaging. "You had a choice, you made it. You could have let Scott and his team handle it right?" He grumbles. "I don't want you getting hurt, a normal life together that's what we want right?"
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane shakes her head. "It's not like that,Alex. I was only there trying to fix the electromagnetic rift she left in the earths atmosphere, I was the only one who could..Although she did say she wanted to turn over a new leaf.." she tilts her head. "If we are residing in Mutant Tien, should we not at least protect it when we can on a small scale?"
Havok has posed:
Havok looks at her. "And that required you to be on costume? That caused these injuries? Lorna come on what else happened?" He asks with a chuckles.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane smirks, "Well, yes, letting her know I meant business...Alex.." she sighs, turning around to grasp his hand in hers. "I don't think we can stay out of the thick of things at all times, even if it's at our doorstep. I don't want to get involved in big political agendas. but when it's keeping our neighbourhood safe, thats a different matter.."

She rubs her slightly bruised arms and sighs. "This...Was a side effect of her messing with the ley lines. It happened a couple of days later, a rift in the electromagnetosphere was left behind after Spiral's interference...it allowed an ice dragon to cross into Mutant Town..Again I stayed on the sidelines, allowed Firestar and Quake to tackle the beastie while I focused on sealing the rift.."

She sighs, leaning her head back, squeezing her eyes shut. "Gottasay, trouble has a way of finding me, but I'm not as talented at my father at repairing such rifts..It sure took a toll on me."
Havok has posed:
Havok facepalms. "Firestar, she's with the X-Men is she not?" He asks with a curious tone. "I'm gonna have to talk to Scott about his damned people dragging you into or getting you involve in their....antics." He says with a sigh before going to the liquor cabinet to grab the bottle of whiskey. "If it's on our doorstep we handle it, not all of mutant town is our door step though, if the X-Men were taking care of it we have no need of involvement my love." He tells her softly his voice laced with concern.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane sighs, shrugging a bit. "Oh, Is she Xmen now? I don't know...I didn't call her. Or Quake..They were just in the neighborhood." she shrugs, "I suppose finding that right balance can be tricky...Although one thing I know for sure, Spiral is here to stay..So that could be a problem for us.."
Havok has posed:
Havok grumbles a bit as he swigs his whiskey and hands the bottle to Lorna, he moves to a closet and opens it up looking at his own costume. "Been a long time since I donned this."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane nods and sighs, grabbing the bottle, pouring herself a glance. "Me too, but...With trouble at our doorstep, what else can we do?" she shrugs, "But like I said Spiral says she wants to break away from Mojo, claims she doesn't want trouble and wants to talk...Of course Id feel better if you were with me if we agree to listen.."
Havok has posed:
Havok shakes his head softly. "The bowling alley wasn't at our doorstep Lorna." He replies softly even consolingly. "As for Spiral, absolutely not. She's not to be trusted why would we even give her the time?"
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane nods, "I agree but she's still in mutant town. So how do we deal with this, let the Xmen know and stay out of it?"
Havok has posed:
Havok nods his head. "Absolutely, let the heroes who want to risk their lives know and let them handle it." He says softly.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane nods. "I'll let them know then..I just hate this though, trying to find balance away from action can be tricky you know? I want to focus on my work, on a normal life, but a part of me finds it hard to turn the other way when someone is crying for help.." she frowns.
Havok has posed:
Havok smiles understandingly. "Their are police, and X-Men and other hero teams Lorna. Is it really our fight though?" He asks still looking over that costume, it seems he may not be fully convinced himself.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane nods and sighs, taking his hands in hers and squeezing them. "That is true...We really shouldn't get involved. Its not our fight, just.." she sighs, "I suppose old habits are hard to break sometimes..Ans maybe occasionally I miss the excitement, although I don't miss the danger. But you'll help me find that happy balance, right?"
Havok has posed:
Havok smiles and nods softly. "Yea and you can help me find mine, perhaps I shouldn't be as....distant from it. I just want normalcy, but I guess with our.../gifts/ that's hard to come by."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane says, "Then, I guess we'll just have to learn from each other, figure things out on our own..Cuz I don't regret stepping down from being a professional superhero, keeping out of the spotlight, avoiding the trouble that comes from being a high profile hero..But you're right, we were gifted with these amazing abilities, and even among other mutants were are particularly talented.."

She sighs, "It just seems a waste not to put them to good use.""
Havok has posed:
Havok nods his head and pulls out his suit dressing it on a mannequin his sign to her that he's at least somewhat coming out of retirement. "You're right of course Lorna, we should at least try to render aide when possible. I apologize....I just don't want to lose you."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane smiles, climbing to her feet, giving the suit a once over before shrugging her shoulder, "Then we be careful, do what we can, when we can, but don't get too deep into things unless we can't help it. It's what the Xmen are for afterall."

She smiles, reaching up to touch his face, caressing his cheek gently, reassuringly, "And I worry about you too but I'll follow your lead. So let's not worry anymore about heroics tonight and try to make the most of the rest of our evening, hmm?" she winks and smiles playfully as she takes another sip of her drink.
Havok has posed:
Havok laughs grabbing the bottle and taking a swig. "Good." He says with a laugh and a wink before running a hand over his suit. "I won't lie I've missed wearing it."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane chuckles, shrugging out of her cape and hanging it up, "Yeahh, me too. But we will find the time and place for this, we can use our powers in our own way, in a way where people don't need to get hurt as much yeah? But until then, come on, let's relax."she tugs him towards the sofa if he will let her. "So tell me about your day.."
Havok has posed:
Havok chuckles and shakes his head back and forth. "Yes yes use them in our way on our terms to aide when needed." He laughs softly, he does allow himself to be taken to the sofa. "No where near as eventful as yours, just went to my PHD courses."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane yawns and stretches, flopping on the couch, "We are thinking too hard, you know? Let's just sit back and enjoy our freedom, and the peace that comes with it. So what if Spiral is in town? I think I managed to fix most of the rifts she left behind." she kinks her neck, "And I feel better than ever now thanks to that relaxing massage...Guess I owe you one, hmm?" she smiles, curling up on the sofa, leaning her head against his shoulder.
