Just A Hijacked Convoy: Nothing To See Here
Date of Scene: 17 March 2024
Location: The Midwest
Synopsis: In their first meeting, Juggernaut dispenses some 'words of wisdom' to a Green Lantern seeking to put a stop to his heist.
Cast of Characters: Juggernaut, Tyran'tar

Juggernaut has posed:
A military convoy making its way through 'middle of nowhere' U.S.A. on its way to an installation - nothing unusual there.

A military convoy making its way through 'middle of nowhere' U.s.A> on its way to an installation while ferrying experimental tech developed by S.T.A.R. labs? That's -something- a little more unusual.

A military convoy---well yada yada yada...it's been already attacked by mercenaries employed by A.I.M. and is...no longer enroute to said installation. Now -that- is indeed rather more exciting now isn't it?

Indeed, some miles outside of a Springfield Illinois, a group of hired and heavily armed thugs descended upon this convoy as it made its way along the highways. A massive armored semi-truck was the true target of their efforts with various armed escorts working alongside them. When the mercenaries descended upon them from a drop ship - the battle was swift, fierce and sudden...and for once A.I.M. had hired some solid fighters as they took the convoy, taking hostages of the army officers and loading them into one of hte armored trucks while taking command of the semi itself to turn it towards a designated point for pick up...and payment.

It doesn't help that riding in the semi truck now is...some added security measures..just in case things go wrong. With barely a few miles to go..things seem well in hand.
Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar had been stationed on earth to act as Green Lantern while the native lanterns were off on a mission. Word of the heist reached his ring and he adjusted his course. Finding it was relatively easy thanks to the ring's advanced AI and he flew overhead practically silently. He wills a massive wall in front of the vehicles, causing them to stop.

He flies infront of the Semi and amplifies his voice. "This is Green Lantern, Pleasure surrender peacefully and you will not be harmed." He says in english as he has the ring translate it in the humans native languages should they not speak it.
Juggernaut has posed:
The lead truck screeches to a stop and the merc captain grimaces as the rest of the convoy starts to rapidly slow up as well.

"Ah hell! I thought we had the all clear.. Where'd this guy come from!"

"IT doesn't matter. We need to get this field generator back to our client." responds one of the other mercs.

All in all there's about fifteen of them and a few are already climbing from their trucks though they seem uncertain on how to act. Cops, security officers, even the military they were ready for. A Green Lantern?

"Hey. Chill.." rumbles a deep voice from the depths of the largest truck, the semi carrying the goods. The truck rumbles and shakes. Looking, from the outside, like some huge elephant was beginning to move around within it.

Eventually, the back doors of it open and a massive figure begins to emerge. The ground shakes, sundering as a booted foot steps down onto the cement of the highway and The Juggernaut arrives...practically unfolding his immensity from the depths of the semi truck and swelling in armor creaking size as he straightens up and loosens his massive arms.

"THis is why I'm here, remember? I'll clear a path.." he rumbles into his commlink and then turns and starts walking, unfased, towards the green roadblock and the waiting Lantern.
Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar had his AI scan the mercs markings and equipment as well as race, all human tech and gear, Mercenary based affiliation. Then the massive figure comes out. He scans known earth databases for this figure. The ring came up with one hit: Juggernaut. A warning flashes on his HUD about this human being incredibly dangerous and destructive. He tilts his head, his mask and eyes glowing with emerald light as he thinks to himself how bad can one human be.

The Roadblocks vanish as he wills another construct, Massive chains used on old earth ships, though their design more alien then earth based ones. He completely wrapped the being in chains. "Please do not resist. Green Lanterns wield the strongest weapon in the universe." He tries to convince the Juggernaut.
Juggernaut has posed:
When the roadblock vanishes, Juggernaut's gravelly rumble of a voice commands. "Start moving." into his commlink.

The trucks rev up again though they're slow to begin until they see how this contest will start to play out.

There's more then just normal military tech here as well. Some sort of generator is in the semi truck that The Juggernaut had been riding in. It's human tech but it seems to have the capacity for creating forcefield. Hostages are in that truck as well.

As to the chains? They begin wrapping about the colossal, whirling this way and that and engulfing his gigantic body in full from top to bottom.

"Oh yeah?" Juggernaut says, voice raising a bit in sincere curiousity as he hears the boast on the power of the ring. "No foolin'! That's sounds cute.."

He hasn't stopped moving. A misunderstanding is that the assumption is that Juggernaut needs incredible momentum to be unstoppable when he's no less unstoppable when walking then he is running. It's just a matter of how long it may take him to get through a given barrier. In this case, the green constructs begin already cracking. The chains starting to snap and burst as the colossus almost boredly lumbers forward, huge frame pulling at the chains without hint of being held in place. Without reinforcement they will give way like twine.

"So what can this 'most pwoerful weapon' of yorus do?" he rumbles as the chains begin bursting and falling free. Crashing around the giant as his brute strength continues him on towards Tyran'tar.
Tyran'tar has posed:
The strain on the chain surprises Tyran'tar. He almost seems winded when the chains finally bursts and disintegrates. It was unexpected but he recovers quick. He has met superhuman beings before, so while unexpected, it wasn't unbelievable. "More then you can expect." He says as he flies at top speed and forms a massive robotic power gauntlet as he tries to punch the human, only for the gauntlet to crack as soon as he made contact.
Juggernaut has posed:
"Nice!"

He seems rather cheerful as the fist slams into hsi body and the gauntlet cracks, sending shards of green flying everywhre.

"I think I've heard of you now that I think about it but ...you don't look like human t'me."

There's a sound like a sequioa tree trunk cracking as Juggernaut's massive fist clenches. His muscles bulk up, the sinew of his arm building up more and more size as veins the size of shipping ropes stand out against his ruged flesh.

"Gotta warn you though. You go punch for punch with The Juggernaut, you lose!"

And then the arm swings, a thunderous upper cut that swings low and then up against like a trebuchet for the Lantern. Juggernaut has sent foes far stronger flying for miles with mere swats. This one..might do more though at least Lanterns can fly!
Tyran'tar has posed:
"Very Astute. I am from Tamaran, a planet in Sector 2828." He says as his gauntlet shatters. The daze from the psychic backlash allows the juggernaut a free hit, but just before the Juggernaut makes contact he wills his forcefield to the strongest rating the blast from contact sending the lantern flying through the road and trees nearby, driving him into the earth. The Forcefield held, but it was cracked massively. A gaze to the cracks causes the lantern to realize the kind of threat he is dealing with. He gets out of the trench and feels exhausted. He is going to have to be creative to stop this threat. He then wills an energy bubble around the Juggernaut, cutting off Gravity so he should start floating and being unable to use his strength.
Juggernaut has posed:
"Alright, hes gone! Step on it!" commands Juggernaut.

The semi truck revs up and begins moving past the giant as the other trucks start to floor it, looking to try and reach the pickup point as quickly as they can. Juggernaut turns to look at them and then starts to step forward to follow - only to have the anti gravity bubble envelop him.

As predicted, it lifts him off the ground and he frowns, finding himself floating slightly as if in some sort of zero g location.

He turns about, looking for the Lantern in question.

"Tamaran, eh?" he rumbles.

"..You're not very ....good at this...are you?" he rumbles, not moving to make an attack just yet as if taking the measure of the lantern first.

"You a newbie Lantern or something? I hear there's a bunch of you. Some sorta boot camp? They hand those rings out to just anybody?"
Tyran'tar has posed:
"I am very good at this, I just cant brute force with you. Fought a Daxomite and lived to tell the tale." He says as he pants heavily. He keeps the field going before willing roadblocks back infront of the trucks. "Now, I said this nicely once before. Surrender. The next attempt I take you into space, and last I checked, humans still need air to breathe." He says as he maintains the bubble. It wasn't a forcefield so there was no breaking it but it did remove gravity in it.
Juggernaut has posed:
"Oh so you want to 'kill me' eh?"

Juggernaut looks amused now. "Well let me tell you somethin'...if you think some stupid trick like trying to lift me off the ground means anything..you need to get back to reading the beinners guide, mr. 'I am very good at this'."

Juggernaut lfits his huge arms up and spreads them wide. "I'm The Juggernaut! Aint nobody stronger, aint nobody can stop me! You mighta fought a Daxamite....but you aint fought ME!"

With that, his massive chest swells, his armor creaks and his huge arms bulge horrifically like mountain peaks under his hairy flesh.

He then brings his arms around violently. His massive hands crash together, sparring no strength this time. A thunderous shockwave roars and rips out from him, racing towards the Lantern and blowing out a huge sinkhole in the ground. The earth shakes an sunders, ripping canyons into it as the highway splinters and trees fall like matchsticks. It's the sort of stunt Hulk made famous and that those of his level of strength are well able to use. Enough to decimate mountain sides if they wish.

The unleashed earthquake isn't good for the trucks closest to him however, especially as the blockade temporarily halts them again. One of the armored trucks goes flipping wildly. Crashing with the hostages still in it. THe semi truck is, fortunantely, a good distance away but it still take damage.
Tyran'tar has posed:
"Not kill. Incapacitate. Your a big boy I bet you can hold your breath pretty good." He says as he strengthens his forcefield again, the forcefield cracking under the strain once more but holds. He knew this was a losing battle and with that shockwave crashing the hostages, he couldn't afford to let the Juggernaut do it again or something similar. As the armored trucks go flying a green energy field wraps around them and gently sets them down. He scans the semi of it's cargo and he lets the juggernaut loose. "I cant beat you, that I will admit. So lets change the equation." He says as he lifts the field generator out of the trailer. "I bet your employers want this. So if I destroy this, you dont get paid."
Juggernaut has posed:
So he just 'took that' then? Well it looks like he'll have to hit him harder and stop holding back.

In fact, he doesn't even answer immediately. Once he's on the ground, it begins sundering and cracking fro the pressure he's placing upon it...and then he launches for Tyran'tar lke a fired off battleship shell.

It's a mistake to assume Juggernaut is slow and lacks cunning. Indeed, he can be -quite- fast when he builds up momentum or just forces a leap that would do Hulk proud.

In this sense he goes barreling for Tyran'tar while hauling a monsterous arm back, big grin shadowed by his massive helm as he looms in on the Lantern...

ANd then he swings. His fist comes hurtling around with a blow that'd make Hulk and Thor cringe. To that end he seems less worried about the fact that the Lantern is grabbing for the generator and more intersted in teaching him a lesson.. Likely apparent by a fist as big as a buick hurtling around at the Lantern.
Tyran'tar has posed:
CRA-THOOM!!! The lantern goes flying, forcefield shattering from the blow. He slams into the armored truck, the metal warping around him like a gauntlet as he reels from the blow. Blood drips along his head. If it weren't for his personal field, he probably would have cracked his head on that metal truck. He forces himself out of the warped metal, panting. If he was exhausted before, his eyes barely stay open.

'Status report' Several cracked ribs, a broken arm, fractured leg and a concussion the hud reads out as it locates all the spots where he is hurting. He doesn't even have the ability to stand, floating a few inches off the ground. He is going to die here if he continues. He focuses on 'floating' between the hostages and the Juggernaut and he tries his best to get them out of there before the juggernaut gets ideas.
Juggernaut has posed:
The hostages are not his concern. The mercenaries took them, thinking it'd have some added leverage to the situation.

Juggernaut himself simply laces his fingers together, producing that horrible boulder cracking, sequioa splintering sound as he cracks his knuckles and stretches his arms out.

"Lemme give you some advice, chum! First - taking a human into space is gonna do more then just have 'em run out of air. Space is a vaccuum. Yeah?"

Of course he leaves it unsaid that he'd actually have been fine. Better to have left that as a surprise if it comes up.

"Secondly, rookie mistake is just trying to think lifting me off the ground is going to stop me. I don't need to touch you to hurt you...and it'd just make me madder. Lucky for you, I held back because I don't wanna just turn this place into a crater lookin' like a nuke fell. And three--"

He grins, lifting a huge hand up, fist balling up, that cracking sound happening again accompanied by the grinding sound of his sinew swelling up as he flexes that colossal arm. "Nothing Stops The Juggernaut!"

He points at the Lantern, "I'm a team fight, buddy. Superman himself aint stopped me, what chance you got? Next time. Take the hostages. We're leavin' with the generator. I'm in a good mood cause I'm bein' all hospitable to you as yer an alien visitor at all. You want a rematch? Come find me."

With the semi truck damaged, he'll have to deliver the generator himeslf and he turns and starts for it. It's lightly damaged now but..that's A.I.M's problem..not his. Ironic that he's also fought a Daxamite, twice, and one time the sister genrator to this one was badly damaged. Even more ironic it's probably the one Tyran'tar fought.
Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar felt fear for the first time, he feared this man. A small part of him wanted to let him go, for fear of what he will do to him. First he got the hostages out and was about to leave when he realized his fear. He couldn't let this man win. So once the hostages were free he wills his ring one more time. Green energy chains wrap around the juggernaut until there nothing of the man that can be seen. Then he formed an energy bubble around him, and intensified the gravity inside the bubble to way beyond organic and even metal limits. This will either crush him, contain him or piss him off. He could live with the repercussions of it.
Juggernaut has posed:
By the time the hostages are out, the convoy has moved on. Juggernaut had placed the generator atop one of the still functioning trucks. Despite ihs bravado..this was a lucky break for all involved and he's no desire to stick around just in case this Lantern -does- call in help and matters truly begin getting out of hand.

"Alright. Good.." he says once the convoy reaches its end point and a waiting stealh ship is there to make off with the device.

"I....hey what the--!!"

His voice is cut off as the rapid wrapping of the chains begins, enveloping him compoletely ..and then the bubble and then the crushing gravity. It's certainly a feat he never believed that a Lantern was capable of!

LIke that, a towering momument of chains is present as the Lantern tries to, effectively, put him down or worse if he wasn't able to withstand it...and for a few seconds all seems still.

Then the cracks begin again. The ground starts shaking. MOre cracks. More shaking. Loud rumbles that begin thrumming through the earth. Earthquake measuring machines are registering this now as well. The cracks continue and the energy bubble begins to buckle.

And with a final explosion of force, it all erupts outward, exploding in violent shards of green as Juggernaut bursts free, huge arms flailing and a thunderous bellow erupting from him as he stretches his body up and his arms wide. Crimson energy crackles around him as he swivels at the waist, searching for the Lantern with furious eyes.
Tyran'tar has posed:
the explosion of force sends the lantern flying into the distance, several miles in fact as he was thrown into a mountain. He didn't feel a thing though, the shattering of the constructs knocking him out before he went flying. the trail of devastation left by him from him being hurled could lead the juggernaut to the lantern and he would be defenseless to stop it.
Juggernaut has posed:
He does indeed see the trail - and the still body of the Lantern some distance away.

"Tth. Idiot.." he rumbles. He could indeed bear down on him but while monstrous Juggernaut is not a -monster-. THe fight is over and he's standing and The Lantern is not.

"Lesson learned chum. Next time try harder!" he shouts, though he knows Tyran'tar cannot hear him.

He then turns and starts a slow jog in the direction of the rendevous point to hopefully finally bring this all to an end.
