Play Stupid Games...Win Stupid Prizes...or Injuries
Date of Scene: 12 April 2024
Location: Danger Room - X-Men Base
Synopsis: It didn't go quite according to Rogue's plan, but it actually went a bit better.
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Wolverine

Rogue has posed:
The Danger Room is not a toy!

One could almost hear those words in Cyclops' voice as Rogue messes with some of the setting parameters in the control room. She's told no one that she's here, often enjoying a training session or two on her own. Especially when there's a bit on her mind that she's trying to cleanse herself of.

After she's done with fiddling around on parameter settings, she exits the control room into the main domed area of the Danger Room and gives a long stretch. She's dressed in her X-Men uniform, that one piece suit of yellow trimmed in green, yellow boots and gloves as well. Her hair has been pulled back into a tight ponytail and she gives a little smirk as she speaks, "Load Rogue 23, code XFP98..." she speaks and then the system responds.

"Loading Rogue 23. Warning : Danger Protocols have been Disabled. Physical Harm may come to Occupants."

"Yeah yeah. Let's just go already..." Saying this as she hunkers down a bit waiting for the program to start.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan managed to slips into the program at the last second. He knows something is on her mind. It's why he tailed her. Dressed in the yellow and blue outfit, he slips on the mask. Ocean blue eyes look out of the mask. The blue gloves, boots and similar. Splashes of blue run down the sides with yellow stripes and blue ones at the shoulder. Looking about the program, he waits to see what dangers the room can hold. This is going to be quite a task, Logan knows that much.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue has a few programs that she's managed to make which not many know about. This one seems to be one of them. Because it's not Sentinels that suddenly appear, or Juggy, or even Magneto, Mystique, or any other fiend they've gone against before. No, what steps out of the shadows for Rogue to face...is Rogue. The two lock eyes, and the real Rogue grins, digging her heels in just a bit before she takes off running towards...herself. The two lock arms, throwing one over the other until they both seem to throw themselves away from each other. One slamming into a random car, the other into a building. "Ugh...damn. I forget I pack one helluva punch..." Is muttered as she stands up and dusts herself off.
Wolverine has posed:
"I've known 'bout fightin' yer demons, question is, why are you fightin'?" Logan asks as he comes out of the shadows, after the duo toss themselves.

Logan has a program named "Jimmy." It's very similar, but less of a reflection and more of a distorted one. Things he can guess, surmise and put puzzle pieces togheter thanks to the computers here.

Logan will look between them just unsure how this would go since he's now in the program, so to speak.
Rogue has posed:
"Cause fightin's better'n going out and doing stupid things." Rogue says this much as she wipes a little blood off her nose and squares up with the other Rogue for a moment. Though the other Rogue looks to Loga, then back, then to Logan again. Seems like the programmed Rogue doesn't know which to target now and so it's pausing. So, the real Rogue picks up a nearby trash can and hurls it at the other to knock her onto her back again. Then she turns to Logan. "How the hell did you even know I was here?"
Wolverine has posed:
Logan smirks, "I've been a spy couple of times, I know how to tail someone n' these boots are quieter," part of the reason he wears them. Those cowboy boots anounce his presence. People don't realize he can actually sneak about. "And what stupid things would ya do?" Logan rushes toward "Rogue."
Rogue has posed:
"Go pick an actual fight in Mutant Town? Drown myself in a bottle of whiskey..." Rogue answers just as Logan is rushing Anna Marie. She jumps into the air and flies after him, stopping just short to see what happens. Anna Marie having already tossed the trash can off herself and stood back up just to see Logan charging at her. She hunkers down, getting ready to be pommeled but at the last minute she'll try to toss Logan into the air. Adamantium skeleton and all.
Wolverine has posed:
"Why the booze?" Logan says and he rushes forward and at the last moment tries to pivot and side step. He's figuring Rogue would try an uppercut or something like it. So, the hope is to go to the side and get an exposed ribcage something like that. It wouldn't stop Anna, but it would hurt and maybe slow down.
Rogue has posed:
This isn't going as Rogue had it planned. She wanted to fight herself, to beat herself to a bloody pulp and then spend a day or two in the infirmary getting healed up. Now Logan's here and asking questions she doesn't want to answer. "Why not booze? Cause it's the most legal drug I can do and not get in trouble." Watching as Logan pivots and catches Anna Marie with that side punch. She just sighs out and says, "Pause Program." To which everything sort of comes to a stand still. "What's it matter to you anyhow?"
Wolverine has posed:
Catching Anna on the side makes him smile inwardly for a moment. Then everything comes to ahead before PAUSE. Not the first time the Danger room stilled itself in his presnece. Nor would it be the last.

Logan turns completely unphased by the paused scenario. "Because yer the one thing I care 'bout most on this rock. I could tell something was eatin' at ya. Even now yer avoidin' the questions or givin' simple stuff,"
Rogue has posed:
"I ain't avoidin' anything. I just..." Rogue seems to catch herself before speaking any further. There's a breath and then she sighs out. "I dunno what's wrong. I really don't. Seems like things were picking up a bit, we had somethin' to do...and then all of a sudden it just fizzled out. Like a lot of things have been doing lately." She shifts to walk towards Logan. "If you're worried it's got anything to do with you or us, I promise it doesn't. I just feel...stuck. But more stuck like...there's nothing going on." She pauses right in front of him. "I prolly ain't makin' much sense..."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan's quiet for a few moments taking it all in. "Ya feel useless, stuck n' like ya can't do anythin'," he says to her then chuckles a little bit. "Hit me. Try n' hit me," he says and gets in a ready stance. "I can take a punch n' can heal. Yer skins pretty tough so I can bash on it a bit. Hit me," he says again. "Well, try," he says to her.
Rogue has posed:
"I think the safety parameters are still off...even if the program is paused..." Which, Rogue then realizes is likely why Logan said he could heal and she's got pretty tough skin. Still, she stands there for a good few seconds, perhaps contemplating if she should or shouldn't actually try and hit him. Then, suddenly, a balled fist comes flying at Logan's cheek. A cheap shot, sure, but she figures it's one he won't quite see coming.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan nods about the safety parameters. Rogue's thinking and he thinsk she'll turn it down when: Sucker Punch. The force knocks him back a bit. Spitting out blood, Logan smirks with a chuckle as he gets in a ready stands. "First one's free," he says giving her credit. "Gotta earn the rest," and he's not going to make it easy on Rogue.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue grins. Maybe this is something she needed. Just to get out a sort of itch for violence. She's not really a violent person but sometimes... "Yer on..." And she rushes towards him, but then thinks twice and at the last minute she jumps and flips over him to land behind. From there, she'll try to get a kick out against his back if she's manage to keep him off his game.
Wolverine has posed:
"What does winner get?" Logan asks and Rogue rushes toward him. He's expecting this to go different. That jump he fllows, she'll land, but his elow goes toward her face as the boot goes to his back. They might tag each other on this one. Rogue will learn first hand that Logan hits hard. Thanks to the metal in his body, itadds weight and impact to his strikes, not just his fists.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue likely manages a bit of a tap to Logan's form, but she does take that shot to the face which actually has her stumbling back a bit. She spits out a little blood herself and then touches her lips to find that's where she's bleeding from. "I dunno...another point on the date bet?" She says with a smirk and then watches him a moment, likely trying to find some way she can get him without getting it back. So it'll be a moment before she moves to strike again - perhaps even letting him make the move this time.
Wolverine has posed:
"Fair enough," Logan says witha smirk. Then that's when rogue goes in again. Logan is going to go for a specific target. Whens he goes in he goes low, trying to strike at one of her knees -hard-. Rogue charges and pushes off with those knees. So, he wants to take o ut one of her wheels. See what happens when she can't lead into those charges and flights.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue notes him going low, but also knows he's close so she'll have to think fast. Side stepping a bit so that the bull-charging doesn't go quite as planned and then she'll punch out to strike him between the shoulder blades on his upper back. This should knock the wind out of him a bit if she hits hard enough and in the right spot. "Do better, Old Man..."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan takes the shot int he shoulder blades and he's knocked back a bit. Breathing hard. Smirking, "First time ya ever told me that. Usually it's, 'Keep goin' old man,' or 'You did it right, old man.'" Logan's back screams at him. and she'll hear the bones crack and crunch into place. They both know Logan wants to go in for the knees. So, Logan thinks differently for a bit.

Rushing forward Logan looks like he's going down low, but jumps and kicks right at the shoulder. He's going to have to move upon landing. He wants to make those arms hurt like he would the leg. So, Logan's going to pick at a new body part. Soemthing to distract her thoughts away from the real target.
Rogue has posed:
"That's because usually we're doin' somethin' a bit different, Old Man..." Rogue says this with a laugh and then watches as he shifts his back and those bones crack and crunch back into place. Oh that actually makes her wince even if it likely only but barely phased him. So when he's rushing her again, seeming to be repeating the same trick, she'll actually try to move to avoid her legs getting hit, but it's her arm that takes a beating. Right at the shoulder, which makes a sort of popping sound and Rogue screams out in pain, going down to her knees.
Wolverine has posed:
"True," Logan would get out before that jump. Then he hears that pop and sees Rogue go down. Since this is a friendly fight, he just gets himself in a stance getting readyf or her to come at her. "Age n' trickery will win each time darlin'," he goads a little bit. He knows this may hurt her. However, he's hoping that taunt puts her head back i in the game. Plus, it would make him feel better. Knowing that his shot didn't end the battle.
Rogue has posed:
"Hang on...I think you popped my shoulder out of socket..." Rogue admits this, though she doesn't want it to be the end of the battle...she also knows she can't really do anything with one arm down. Though she sees him in a stance and grins at that taunt, it's a bit of a pained grin as she tries to move her right arm to pop her shoulder back into place.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan gets out of the stance and he nods. "Computer. End Anna Marie part of program. Gimme an unbreakable tree." He nods to the tree and begins, "Here's a trick. It'll hurt, but it works quick," and Logan goes through the motions. Showing Rogue how to foreable knock the shoulder back into place. "Sometimes the healin' factor ain't as quick as I like."
Rogue has posed:
Rogue nods and stands up. It's quite obvious this isn't a ruse to get him close so she can get the hurt on him. Following him to that tree and watching the motions he does, she'll mimic them. Once, twice, the third time there's another pop and Rogue cries out once before breathing out a few times in some sort of relief. "Oh fuck...that was smart... I think you win. I don't stand a chance against your healing power or your skeleton..."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan looks down at her and he nods. "Well, ya don't know how to fight me. Go fer the air supply next time. I can't heal lack of oxygen," Logan looks at her. "People think that healin' factor is instant. It ain't. It's like a resource that never goes down to zero. A single cut, goes quick. Several, take a little bit, 'cause the resource becomes divided. Poisons. n' toxins would do ya wonders if ya wanna play really dirty," and then he holds out a hand for her. "Next time go fer my shoulder, knock it out and then try n' get my neck."
Rogue has posed:
Rogue smirks. "Giving me tips on how to beat you. That may not fair well for you in the future.." She jokes and then takes his hand, pulling him in for a hug. She winces a bit cause her shoulder's gonna be sore, but hugs him tight never the less. "I love you, Logan. Thanks for putting up with me and my crazy moods..."
Wolverine has posed:
"Maybe. Ya still got work to do to get there," Logan holds her tightly to him. Rubbing her back and he nods. "I love ya, too. Always. Not a problem," and he nods to the door. "We can ice our wounds somewhere n' just rmeember. Next time I got a Glassgow Kiss wit' yer name on it fer that sucker punch," he smirks remembering that punch. Honestly, Rogue looked very attractive after that. "We gotta do it again soon." He's going to leave it, a little more nebulous.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue lets out a chuckle and nods. "Alright. Let's go ice our wounds. I know a spot not too far from here. Hot tub and everything." There's likely something like that in the mansion somewhere which is where she will lead them once they're out of the room. It's also likely that icing wounds and relaxing in hot water won't be the only thing that happens between them for the rest of the evening.
