Oh, Canada!
Date of Scene: 20 October 2024
Location: Canadian Countryside, Alberta
Synopsis: Kinsey takes a much needed break, Terrain Side.
Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Kinsey MacKenna

Wolverine has posed:
Logan moves with Kinsey up a simple path that's more dirt than stone. A lovely log cabin sits there. It's the size of a small house. Bigger than an apartment, tiny house, etc. However, a ranch home is probably bigger by just a little bit.

Logan looks back at Kinsey, "Got the owner's money?" Yes, it's two-hundred american. She has the place for a week. He'll pull out the keys and start to work on the door. It opens with ease, "I'll give ya a second to get used to it," he says.

Inside the room is a good sitting room, that also serves as a living room. All the light wood, freshly polished creeks. There's a plush red love seat that acts as a chair and a chocolate brown couch. Both are cloth. Despite the mismatched colors, both are comfortable. The kind of furniture someone could fall asleep in. There's next to the living room is the kitchen, dining room combo. Sadly, there's no dish washer. Also, there's a bathroom, bedroom and a second bedroom. Although the second is much smaller.

It's not until Kinsey gets well into the cabin, and settled, she might notice the only photo of the owner. He's a small brickhouse of a man holding a big fish in one hand, a spear in the other and it's clearly Logan.

Somehow Logan didn't mention that he -owns- the cabin in question. That's -if- she notices the photo.

"How is it?"
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
At first, Kinsey misses the picture. There's something about walking through the front door, and calling it a vacation that does weird things to her regular everyday workaholic nature. It just melts away.

"Look at the furniture! That brings me back to childhood. Most of my neighbours couldn't afford new, so they scavenged whatever they could. There was a time when we could count ourselves as one of those people."

She had the old apartment - it was grandfathered to her, and Kinsey was not willing to give it up. Where else would she be able to rent an apartment for what she currently paid for it? Even if she didn't stay there much.

She drops herself onto the couch, and then, and only then noticed the picture. "Huh?"

Looking at the picture.

Then him.

Then the picture.

And back to him.

"I am confused?"

~Why didn't you warn me, Kibou?~

~You said that somethings were best found out naturally. Logan is not an enemy. I could have told you, but then I would have been reviewing his file? And I thought I was doing the right thing? Was I wrong?~

Kinsey sighs. ~No. It's my own fault.~

"You must have been chuckling over this. I feel stupid." She laughs though, so she couldn't feel very stupid.. Right? "You must have found it funny when you were invited over to your cabin."
Wolverine has posed:
"We just met in a bar. It might have sounded creepy if I said 'I got a cabin in the middle of nowhere if ya wanna join me.' Figured it was better to say 'I knew the owner.' That ain't a lie, either," technically 'Logan knows the owner VERY well.

"Well, fer dwellin' purposes, this ain't my cabin fer a week. Ya got the right to invite whoever ya want. Just clean up if ya have adult company," he says trying not to grumble a little bit. His gaze goes to her for a moment.

"So, what are ya gonna do first?" Logan asks, still outside not really in the cabin, a clear sign of respect to Kinsey.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
~He means if you have se-.~

~Kibou! I know quite what he means! You shouldn't.~

~Why? It is a regular function of most life forms. It is interesting that the Darwa male faces-~

~Kibou! This not the time!~

"Don't. Ask. Kibou." Which should bring Logan up to date. Kibou was a very, very young Lantern Ring. "As for what? I guess I will have to make supper, seeing as the isn't take out here. Other than that? I have fallen, and I can't get up." She laughs.

"So, about the invitation? Supposing I do plan on adult company?"
Wolverine has posed:
"Ya can invite anyone ya want fer anythin'. I'm just sayin' clean up if somethin' happens," Logan says just being bluntly honest. He stands outside. "But it's up to you the kind of company ya keep, what ya do," Logan just says it all matter of factly.

"And I can fix somethin' if it needs fixin'," or he could always send out a replacement if it comes down to it.

"Anythin' I can get ya?" Logan will ask as he wants to make sure Kinsey is set up okay in the cabin.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
Kinsey sighs. "I'm not fragile, you know. And growing up, my mother made sure I knew how to fix pretty much everything in our apartment, because.." Her Kinsey takes on a different voice.

"Now, Kinsey, you aren't always going to have me about, and lord only knows when the manager will fix things, so we are going to look it up and learn how to fix it." She shrugs.

"And I don't plan on adult company beyond the gentleman who I asked." She stares at him.
Wolverine has posed:
"But yer a renter. Legal laws n' all that. Not a shot at yer ability." Logan would normally welcome someone that wants to help put time on his hands.

"I can fix it, nothin' is broken. I'm sayin' if, cause it's a week," Logan will open the door and lset himself in on that look. He smirks, "Alright. Whatever ya want to do, is fine." Then he eyes the place a bit, "Been a little too long, but I always like seein' this place," he does miss it. A home away from home.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"She asked you to visit! I presume Kinsey wanted some adult company. You do mean sex, don't you?" Kibou pauses. "He does mean sex, doesn't he? You did, didn't you, Kinsey?"

Kinsey shuts her eyes and winces.

"Welcome to my world. Kibou has infinite knowledge, but we're still working out the kinks out for intrapersonal relationships. And I like fixing things!" Workaholic much? "There is something about being able to figure out what needs doing, and proceeding till the job is done."

She does understand. In normal circumstances he would be correct.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan pauses for a moemnt. "IF she wants that, then should ask or just do it," Logan says to Kibou as if Kinsey isn't ther.e It's just for her to take and do whatever with.

Logan sits on the couch. "I like fixin' things, too," he looks at her. "There's nothin' broken yet, I'm just sayin'...if soemthin' does," he speaks honestly on that front.

He looks to her curiously for a few moments. His gaze stays on her for a moment. "Well, whatever ya wanna do. I'll help. I'll show ya 'round, but need anythin'. I'm here," Logan knows that she's in a new area that he is intimately familiar with.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
If a disembodied voice, like Kibou, could show confusion, he does.

"My fault. My invitation was.. perhaps.. a little ambiguous. As It stands, we will take it step by step. Okay?" Kinsey looks to Logan, but it was Kibou who answered her.

"I guess it would be okay?" Yet another intrapersonal tidbit Kibou will have to learn.

"Kibou? That was for Logan."

"Oooooohhhhh.." Kibou manages to colour his words in a blush. "Got you."

"Thank you, Kibou. As for you, Logan, I would love to take a hike, and fish, and relax, and eat something that I didn't have to prepare.." She laughs at that. "I've brought up my box. I thought you could give me moral support?"
Wolverine has posed:
"Would I like more than that? What guy wouldn't? But I'd rather you make the invite n' not the ring," Logan says honestly as he looks at her. "Go out to eat now or later. If we fish, should be tomorrow. I can cut, clean n' cook the fishes we catch," he throws that out there. A good compromise on wants.

"Today we could still go on that hike," he offers knowing those are a good thing to do. "Whenever yer ready to go," he offers, not sure if she's hungry now or not. Those ocean blue eyes watching Kinsey as everything is in her court at the moment.
