Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Kinsey MacKenna

Wolverine has posed:
A fire gently roars in the pitch black night. Some of the wood crackles as moisture meets heat. That same heat battles off the fall chill that weaves through the air. They finished dinner a little bit ago.

Logan's finishing washing up the little bit of dishes that actually need washing. He used disposable paper products when he could.

"I got some stuff fer desserts. Nothing too great, but still good," basically the stuff to make smores or to enjoy a good flame kissed marshmallow Yes, he does have grilling skewers. Just simple metal sticks that could withstand the heat no matter how light, or dark, someone would prefer their flames to make the marshmallow.

"Take a look up if ya want see somethin' pretty," and by now the stars shimmer in the night's sky. The lack of noise pollution makes the bigger ones brighter. The smaller ones are actually visible. It's a nice sea of stars not many city dwellers can see, if at all.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
Kinsey wraps a blanket around her and chuckles. "I get to see space up close and personal." Still, she looks up, and sighs. "Beautiful. Sometimes when I'm on earth I forget how amazing space is. When I first took my job upon the space Station I used to look out and see the earth. Or look out into space and be marvelled."

She shakes her head. "It never gets old."

The smores gave her a young look, thinking about them. "My mother would make up microwaved smores. I think she called them 'almost smores'. It wasn't nearly the same as when I had my camping trip that one year. But they still tasted good!"
Wolverine has posed:
"I know it don't compare, but there's something simple 'bout it from this point. Close enough to see it, far away enough to avoid the horrors associated with stars. Hearing her words Logan simply says, "Then ya picked the right job."

"I think everyone does that at some point. Like, close enough to scratch any itch, but it still don't beat an open fire," Logan adds and then he just listens to the sounds. The various bugs, the small pattering of the water against a gentle breeze. Everything is peaceful. "I almost ferget how this place is. The quiet n' pretty sky. Reminds me I made a good choice wit' this land."
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"Which job would that be? My original jab was a genetic engineer specialising in Xenobiology. Most of my days were spent in a lab. And as for being a Lantern, it snuck up on me."

Kinsey's eyes sparkled. "You are right though, there is something about seeing it from this place. The chill. The trees. Just far enough to pretend you aren't near civilization.." She turns to Logan, "Did I thank you? So far it's been exactly what I needed. And the company isn't too shabby either."
Wolverine has posed:
"The one that lets you see the stars," Logan says knowing both heroics and science can be seen as jobs.

"Didn't need to thank me," Logan says honestly as he starts to ready a marshmallow. "I know what it's like. A couple of places bring me similar peace n' I need the quiet, too." He looks back to the fire, "This place n' parts of the East do that fer me. They're calmin'." Those ocean blue eyes drift back to Kinsey, "Even if we love what we do. Know we won't sleep well if we don't help out people. Know it's the right thing to do, it can still wear on a soul," Logan smirks, "I recognized the signs."
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
Kinsey stuck her tongue out. "That isn't a good answer!" Chuckling, she adds, "Both my jobs let me see the stars. Though one of them more so! Though, I guess being the Lantern on my route doesn't leave me as much time I would like." And that is saying a lot considering her other job is in a lab!

She listens, and nods when he goes off about the peace being necessary at times. "You know, I haven't been to either ocean."
Wolverine has posed:
"The second job tends to dot hat to everyone, even the Terrainb ased ones, and then he pauses for a moment. "When the weather's nicer, I'll take ya to one," Logan's honest on that one. They could take a corss country trek or flight somehow. The ocean blues looka t her, "How?" he asks. "You've seen space. Seems like ya ran before ya walked," he points this out.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
That makes her think.
"When I applied to the Mackenzie Space Station, I really didn't think I has a chance. I applied, but there is hope, and Hope. It was a long shot. I'd really never been much of anywhere. That one summer. University. The city. That's it." Kinsey shrugged.

"The incident that led me to being a Lantern happened of the space station. Someone tried to blow up the labs. Luckily we had help. Otherwise I wouldn't be here talking to you!" Her voice grows quiet. "I never thought of running before I walked. And there wasn't any reason for vacations merely to see the ocean. Not really. Not by myself. Most times I collapsed in my bunk, or the apartment, and slept."

She tells the truth.
Wolverine has posed:
"Then you lived, but didn't enjoy outside yer walls." Logan points out. He knows what that is like, to say a bit. The ocean blues look toward her, "So, how will ya make up fer that?" Logan poses for a moment. It's not accusatory. It's him pointing out what she would do with her time. "What do ya want to do now that ya got the longshot?"
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"Well," Kinsey's eyes twinkle in the firelight. "I am going to have a second smores, and a red solo cup of Scotch. How about you?"
Wolverine has posed:
"That all?" Logan smirks and then he puts a skewer into the fire with a marshmallow. "I'm fine wit' the mashmallow," and then he breathes out, just savoring the quiet. He waits a moment or two. Then he pulls the skewer back to blow it off. A nice lightly toasted marshmallow. He'll take a bite of it and just savor that gooiness.
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"Well, I was thinking about sleep. The arrangements." She answers the question with a sly smile. "I was noticing how cold it has beeN growing. Two sleeping bags seem colder than one."

Kinsey looks thoughtful then. "Well, you mentioned the ocean. I suppose there must be more places I wouldn't mind visiting. Here on earth, and beyond. I really hadn't thought about it till now."
Wolverine has posed:
A smirk pulls at his lips as he shakes his head for a moment. "I thought that was the plan. Or yer hope?" Logan quirks a brow and just lets that one ist for a moment.

"Well, think 'bout it. I mean ya can fly, right?" he points out. The ocean blue eyes curious as he waits for an answer or three. "Ya can literally go anywhere on the planet."
Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
Kinsey levels a look at Logan. "More to the point, I would like to sleep with you." There are equal measures of seriousness with levity.in her gaze. "I've noticed you making sure of my intentions all along for lesser things than this. So, yes, before it get late, I wanted that out there."

A thought occurs to her. "You don't have to. What is good for the goose is equally good for the gander. I won't hold it if you would rather not. I do like you as a friend, regardless."

As she sits back, picking apart the Smore, "I really hadn't thought of that little thing. Isn't it kind of cheating if I just.. you know.. took advantage of my powers?"

Logan can hear Kibou groaning.
Wolverine has posed:
"You'll need to find out what happens when I get into the tent," Logan smirks and then will just let it hang in the air. However, that smirk is probably a bit of a giveaway. But either way he will play coy for now.Let Kinsey stew about it fo r amoment or two.
