I Can Tell That We're Gonna Be Friends
Date of Scene: 30 July 2017
Location: Greenwhich Village
Synopsis: Alexia and Yana meet over lunch to cement their friendship.
Cast of Characters: Black Rose, Tendril

Black Rose has posed:
Yana was already at the diner that she'd invited Alexia too, and the table was outside, in the fresh air and warmth of the summer, yet beneath the cool shade of the awning above. The teenaged girl is sipping at a raspberry iced tea as she waits for her guest, her ally by circumstance, and perhaps even friend to arrive. She sits, comfortably, one leg tucked up under herself, the other with the toe pressed to the ground, foot arched as she watches people with clear interest on the interactions around herself.

Tendril has posed:
It takes Lexi a bit to find the place...she's not exactly familiar with the area, after all. But she's managed to track it down with some Google Map food, and comes walking down the street, scanning ahead of her, catching of Yana before the sign of the place as she waves, wandering over and just vaulting over the little fence around the outside area to walk over to grab a seat. "Hey...sorry, took a little ta find it."

Black Rose has posed:
Warmly, Yana smiles, and notes, "I got you a raspberry tea, while I was waiting for you. Hope you like raspberry?" She stirs the straw in hers, casually, "You doing okay? I mean, I know that was some crazy shit, last time. I've been worried about you."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl's hair shifts a bit against her back, just slightly as she turns her gold gaze fully on you. "...ya were? It's...it's just...not my scene, ya know?" she admits, looking down at the table. "I got real good at runnin' away, not...runnin' at people, when I was where Diya is now." She lets out a faint sigh, then says belatedly. "...thanks, I do..' She snags the drink, sipping from it slowly as she turns her gaze back to you, before setting her drink down again. "...gonna tell me the parts ya didn't bring up before?" she wonders.

Black Rose has posed:
"Sure. Sometimes, though, you don't have a choice. To fight, or run." Yana frowns, realizing that in her eagerness to prove herself to her father she might've given away too much, too early. "I don't like to run," she says, mildly, and honestly. "I learned how to use my abilities to defend myself." Both absolute truths.
She picks up a menu, then, briefly, before nodding at her 'final' decision, and setting it back down. "What parts are you talking about?"

Tendril has posed:
Lexi taps her drink absently, as she slides the other menu over. "...well, first, do ya...know what I was? Why Pietro was chasin' me in the first place?" She gets a slight flush. "I don't mean the porny stuff, that's just...eww." she says, shivering. "Before that."

Black Rose has posed:
"Hey," says Yana, holding up her hands, defensively, but amused, "I'm not judging about the porny stuff. To each their own." But, Yana considers, "I didn't know why, specifically, he was after you. But I knew what he -does-. People talk at those parties, when you really want to listen. I'm a very good listener, Lex," she tells the other girl, honestly. She shrugs, "You survive, by listening. By, picking up on things. Right?"

Tendril has posed:
Lexi mmphs. "I didn't DO it! He just...ugh." She frowns. "He kept buggin' me about it, it was majorly fuckin' creeper of him. Just cuz of my power. All...blargh." She waves it off. "Ugh. Anyway...."

She frowns a bit, watching you as she sips from her drink again, then sets it back down. "...I'm a second story girl." she murmurs after a moment. "Nothin' I can't climb and get into'." It's said with a faint hint of pride, but not boasting. "It used ta be how I supported myself. So I wasn't in Diya's spot." She shrugs. "...it was just me, so, stayin' on the street, doesn't end well for someone as young as I was, ya know?"

Black Rose has posed:
"I - was a bit more lucky," admits Yana, still believing that playing honest, at least up to a point, is the best route to take with Lex. "I had a house, a family, after. I still do. But, there were still people who feared me." This, afterall, was true. For multiple reasons. "Hated me." Also true. "I had to learn how to fight for my life, to use my powers to their maximum potential. So, I did." She purses her lips, looking pensive. "My mother calls me 'driven'. I just - don't like to lose."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl watches you thoughfully. "...cuz of your family?" she says uncertainly. She can't imagine someone picking a fight with a young Yana, unless she's WAY more bitchy and/or bratty than she lets on, and she doesn't get that vibe. "...I can get that." she says after a moment, frowning. "I...I had a family, but I lost them. So it was just me. If I wanted anythin', I had to do it myself. Take it for myself." Her gold eyes stay on yours, a bit of pained memory in them briefly, replaced by seriousness. This isn't something she talks about often.

Black Rose has posed:
"Had to be rough," Yana mentions quietly to Alexia. She doesn't avert her eyes from the other girls strange, yet pretty gold eyes. "My family is important to me, yeah. Only one I've got. They supported me through everything. I know I'm lucky. Most mutants don't - you know, have their parents tell them they can go to whichever school they want and offer to fund that." She twists her expression, "The people in Mutant Town deserve better than that terrible gang. They're there because they're already oppressed. They don't need more shoved down their throats. My abilities give me an advantage in a lot of fights. I'd be wasting them, if I didn't use them, right?"

Tendril has posed:
The other mutant girl cocks her head slightly, her gaze staying on your face, giving you her full attention. She mmms, then looks down. "...yeah, they do." she murmurs. "An'...an' it's not like I don't wanna help 'em. That's why I go back there sometimes, cuz I got more now, so I can spare more. It's just..." She shakes her head. "I'm...I'm not like ya, or Diya, I don't...I mean, I've got in fights, but...I don't try to finish 'em permanent like." she says slowly. "I didn't think I could do anything but make it worse if I tried ta help with just me, 'less I could find some way ta chase 'em off. " She frowns. "Thought about tryin' to frame 'em, but wasn't sure how that would go down. They got a lot of cops in their pockets."

Black Rose has posed:
"Yeah, it won't be easy. So, maybe if - second story stuff is your thing, we can - well, get some evidence planted. We'll have to think about what. But, if we can hit them from multiple points, they won't know where it's coming from." She seems to rather like the idea. Yana nods, "Let me think on it? And, let's both talk to some people in Mutant Town. I'm sure we can find some evidence, or - well, stuff the police don't want to get out. You know, even corrupt cops will do the right thing, even if it means not getting exposed."
Mentally, however, Yana puts that on her list, too. Cops. Cops that need to be in her father's pocket. All good information.

Tendril has posed:
Lexi tilts her head, then nods slightly. "Well..I know all that stuff. I mean, I lived there for years. Hasn't changed that much in two months." she says with a faint smile. "So...can tell ya stuff like that, sure, point ya who knows what. Fences and stuff some of the other movers 'n shakers." She sips from her drink, then says slowly. "But...why are are ya so gung ho for this? I mean..it's a gang, and there's just three of us. Diya 'n you are plenty tough, and I'm okay, but they're mostly bruisers or nasty power types, Pietro's gang." Or whoever's gang it is now.

Black Rose has posed:
Yana considers Lexi's question, then adds, "I've found another girl who will help us. Feral, she goes by. Can turn into a bear. She helped me out of a jam with some of Pietro's gang, after we sent the message. Vanya's her real name, though. So there's four of us, now." She smiles, shrugs, adds, "Mutant Town -does- need leadership. But, not the kind that Pietro is offering. I don't know. Maybe I'm trying to prove I can do it." Which, she is. "Maybe I want to impress people, like Magneto?" Which, she kind of does. "Maybe I just want do something meaningful with my abilities, and - this is a good chance to do it. Maybe all those things."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl wrinkles her nose. "Why would you want to impress HIM?" she says with a faint frown. "He kinda gives me the creeps when I met him. I thought he was a teacher at first." She shivers a bit, then says more seriously. "I get that, I do. Just...who's gonna be in charge if we DO get rid of 'em? I mean...you get rid of PIetro's gang, someone else will just move in ta take his place?"

Black Rose has posed:
"Because he's -really- smart, and -really- powerful? And, when I met him with Dani? Pretty amazing, not going to lie." She, clearly, had a different vibe from him. She nods, too, to the other girls words, "It's how things work. But, they'll probably be more - careful. Learn from Pietro's mistakes. And, only go after the people that deserve it. Not, you know, try to con. Or, twist arms. Not after they see what Mutant Town did to Pietro, and his gang," she argues back. Adds, hesitantly, "At least, I hope so." But she knows better. Her father would have a much softer hand in Mutant Town, with him being one.

Tendril has posed:
Lexi has an expression of faint distrust. "Yeah, he's real powerful, an' smart. Doesn't make him someone ta look up to you, necessarily." she grumbles a bit. She doesn't trust powerful people in general, usualy, the teachers at the school being an exception thus far. And even then, that's mostly because they haven't pressured her at all.

She frowns at the admission, then sighs. "...hope so, huh?" She frowns, turning her attention back to the menu. "Well, I'm kinda fresh outta gangs I'd trust ta be there, so...I guess we just try ta help as best we can and try and fix it more if we have to?"

Black Rose has posed:
"Look," offers Yana, "I liked you, had fun with you, before any of this came up," she says, gently. "Dani, too. But, don't you feel like you should be doing something with your abilities?" She frowns, "You don't have to do any of this with me, you know, if it doesn't make you comfortable. But, I'll tell you what. I'm going to walk grounds on Xavier's, this week. Will you tour with me? I mean, I'm pretty sure the teachers will be pretty boring, but you can point out the cool stuff, right?"

Tendril has posed:
Lexi draws herself up, frowning seriously. "Diya's in this because of me, and ya stepped in to help both of us when ya didn't haveta. I'm not gonna turn my back on ya if ya need help. I owe ya both." And that, from her voice, is that. "I'll just...figure out a way to do it. An' I do wanna help. I mean...I got plans an' stuff for usin' what I can do." She looks thoughtful.

"Really, yer comin' to the school?" She gets a faint smile at that. "Sure, love ta. An' the teachers are pretty cool, the ones I met anyways." She shrugs. "They been nothin' but good to me since I got there, an' I got nothing to make them wanna butter me up, really." She hesistates, then adds with a slight twinkle in her eyes. "...an' yer kinda scary, but I like ya too, Yana."

Black Rose has posed:
At that, Yana can't help grin a little, amused, and - well, to be honest, pleased. She nods, some. "I've practiced my powers, a lot. I can affect myself, or others. I'm able to affect Kinetic Speed, and Impact. Manipulate it. I want to be better, though. I mean, I don't want to be someone in the army, or for SHIELD or anything. I want to, I don't know. Help mutants. Honor my family. Be somebody. Does that make sense?" She's not sure it does.

Tendril has posed:
"Of course it does." the other girl says with a smile. "Who doesn't wanna be somebody or use what they can do in a way that makes 'em happy?" Now it's Lexi's turn to ponder what she tells you. "Me, I'm mostly good at climbin' with my whips, but I got some other tricks too." she admits. "I can balance on practically anythin', for example. Control my center of mass, y'know. So I don't overbalance." She pauses. "...I'm a lot stronger than I look too." she admits.

Black Rose has posed:
"You'd be a dangerous combatant, with your whips, too," Yana measures, thoughtfully, "They'd be like extra arms, limbs. You'd be hard to keep up with." The Russian girl asks, suddenly then, curious, "Have you run into Hunter again, since? I've kept my eye out. But, haven't seen her."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl smiles slightly. "I am. Can only do like, ten or so at once an' keep track of 'em all. An' I can't move as much with just one as I can if I can get several on something, or my hands onit." She waggles her brows a bit. "...an' I'm good with locks with 'em too." She leans back thoughfully, frowning now. "Not yet...but she's shouldn't be too hard to find if ya look for the cats everywhere, when she's picked out a spot. Not sure why that is yet..." she muses. "I'm not sure exactly what's with that. Maybe they just know she feeds 'em?"

Black Rose has posed:
"That's - interesting." She hadn't known that, or hadn't observed that. Then again, she and Lex had just come out of the sewers, too. She makes a mental note of it, nodding. She adds, "I - also wouldn't advertise that around. But, I appreciate the trust you placed in me with that information. I think I can help her out. Nobody should be living on the streets. I mean, if we can all help -one- person, we make a difference, right?"

Tendril has posed:
Lexi nods firmly, frowning. "...she seems like she's got it rough. I've...I've never seen someone do that, go from kinda quiet to just...murdery." she says, more quietly. "D'ya think she's a vet or somethin'? And she sounded...kinda Russian or something, down in the maintenance room." She frowns, tapping the table, before she sips from her tea. "If ya can find her a safe spot, that'd be very good. I don't know if she's accept it or not, she seems kinda..." She bites her lower lip, thinking. "...solitary?"

Black Rose has posed:
It's going to come out sooner, or later. So, Yana nods, "She was Russian." She then says quietly, "I'm Russian, too. My grandparents were immigrants. I just didn't want to call her out on it, given everything else that's going on." Yana shrugs, finishes off her drink. "I'll do my best to help her. We'll see. Depends on how much she wants to be helped, too."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl nods. "I'll call ya if I see her before you do, if you'll do th' same for me." she promises. "Knowing where she is a start, right?" She looks curious now. "Russian, really? I wouldn't have guessed. Did your folks get born here then, or did they come over as kids?" she wonders curiously.

Black Rose has posed:
Yana nods, "My parents were born over here, but they, and I learned all about the Old Country, rather a lot." She gives a half roll of her eyes, but is smiling, nevertheless. "I grew up on stories about Baba Yaga, and the Tsarvena Frog, and others, as much as American stories. But I'm my own person. I love my parents, though. So, I love Russia, too."

Tendril has posed:
Lexi grins a bit at that. "Have ya gotten to visit back to the old country, to Russia? I never got ta go too far from New York, mostly. Farthest I've been is Jersey." she admits sheepishly. She looks a bit wistful at the mention of your parents, but doesn't expand on whatever she's thinking at that point.

Black Rose has posed:
"No, never been. Parents are too busy, here," she confesses with a thoughtful glance. "Though, maybe before I go to high school, after I graduate, I do want to go," Yana admits. Then, seeing that wistful look, she reaches across the table to briefly touch the other girls arm, gently. "In the meantime, friends?"

Tendril has posed:
That causes Lexi's gaze to sharpen, coming back to the conversation at hand as she smiles. "Yeah. Friends..." she says, then turns her hand a bit to claps your forearm. She pouts. "...though next time we go out somewhere in Mutant Town, I'd rather go to another club please?" She grins a bit at you, her grip firm but not squeezing against your bare arm.

Black Rose has posed:
"Agreed. There's another rave coming up in a few days, we will definitely go. I'll give Dani a buzz, see if she wants to go too. And maybe some of the other kids from your school would want to come?" She hasn't met any of the others, yet.

Tendril has posed:
From Lexi's expression, she hasn't either. "Um...well, I've met a couple..." she says after a moment. "I mean, Dani knows them better, not sure which of them like ta dance, but sure! I'll invite some along. Can make it a summer bash before classes start!" she says cheerfully. "Dani an' I are roomin' together not, so should be able to get hold of me through her an' vice versa too."

Black Rose has posed:
"Anybody who wants to come along is welcome. Thanks for meeting me," Yana tells Alexia. She lays a few bills down for the lunch, and drink. "Who knows? If I sign up for Xavier's, maybe we'll have some classes together, too." She grins at that. "Could be fun."

Tendril has posed:
Lexi smiles. "Even if ya don't, no reason we can't hang. It's not that far from Xavier's school ta town." she says with a smile. "Curious what else ya like ta do, huh?" She nods at the bills. "Thanks, next ones on me then..." she says simply, not arguing it. But firm in that the next one WILL be on her.
