Cast of Characters: Alfred Pennyworth, Captain America

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Another day, another shopping trip. It seemed for Alfred that every day there was a new fresh list of duties longer then the last which needed his attention. Of course that was partially why he'd taken the job in the first place, but it did leave for quite the tight schedule.

As he walks out of a rather high end upper east-side grocer he holds a single bag in his left hand with a small box held within it. The bright light of the sun shines down onto the paper bag, illuminating the writing across the side belonging to the store in question.

"Long way to go for a single slab of beef, but by the time it's finished." Alfred speaks to himself kissing the tips of his fingers with a light whisper of something in french. His smirk is a small one but he seems rather happy with himself as he walks out under clear skies, and honking car horns of people all too busy with their own minds to consider that simply honking away won't make them reach their destinations any faster.

However at least Alfred didn't need to look over his shoulder as consistently here as he did back in Gotham, nor did he need to dress down quite so much to try and blend in with the homeless population in hopes of avoiding confrontation.

Instead alfred is dressed in a rather fashionable blue suit, with his hair slicked comfortably to one side, pure white as ever. He walks with grace and poise managing to blend in despite standing out. A trick of the trade he'd never forget.

Captain America has posed:
As much as everything changed in Steve's life, at least one still needs to go to the grocer for food. Granted even things have changed since his day. He relished days he could do the simple things, such as cooking for himself. The Captain would of course always have younger people recognize who he was, but giving out a smile and possibly pose for a 'selfie' didn't bother him much as long as they were happy.

Steve is about to head into the same store, but had been halted in his tracks by an accent that had sounded eerily familiar. Rogers stopped, looking to Alfred with squinted eye, attempting to place the older gentleman. Steve had dressed simply, a simple white tee and jeans combo for doing his errands in.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Is there something I can do for you?" Alfred asks for a moment, so many things on his mind that at first he doesn't even recognize rogers. It takes a quick moment of the gears rolling before his brain clicks for where he recognizes him from, and there's a quick moment of worry in the back of his mind that this might blow his cover completely after so many years.

"There something this old man can do for you Captain?" He asks with a pause to adjust his stance. As much as he'd tried to blend in before he's now stuck out for Rogers. Something certainly familiar in the voice as he speaks.

Captain America has posed:
Steve grimaces just a little before shaking his head. "I...you seem familiar. But I would have to be mistaken. " He offers, this kind of thing happening before to him, a confirmation bias, seeing old friends where there wasn't. "I'm sorry, Mister." He offers, darting his eyes back to his list. "No, wait. I'm sure of it. " He says, looking back to the dapper elder gentleman.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred had dodged a bullet, his actions leading him right where he wanted to be, the isle of memory where he could just slip out and away. Yet just as alfred is about to slip back into the crowd and on the way home to avoid the situation all together Rogers just happens to look back up.

Alfred walks up to Steve single hand held out in front of himself with a bit of a smile. "The names Pennyworth, Alfred Pennyworth." As he goes for a handshake to reassure Cap that he was a complete unknown. "It's no problem at all, trust me I've simply got one of those faces."

Captain America has posed:
"Mister Pennyworth." But he said it in such a way... More memories come to mind, unknowing exactly where it all pointed to. "You sure it's not...James?" Asking for one last Hail Mary pass here. Steve is about to think himself crazy if this one proves false. He shakes the hand with gusto, mainly because he have everyone a nice firm handshake, unlike how kids were doing these days.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
And there goes the cover. Alfred doesn't seem visibly phased for a moment as he delivers one hell of a handshake for his age. There's a distinct confidence in his motions that comes about from the moment the two shake hands.

"You know Captain Rogers, it's rude to call out a man on a mission." A light smirk and a wink given as he leans a bit closer so the two can hear each-other but the words are lost outside them to the crowd. The accent becomes a bit more distinct for a moment as he gives a bit of a smirk. "Even if that mission is simple grocery shopping."

Captain America has posed:
Rogers looks a bit stunned for a moment. "You're not..." He starts again once the gentleman's mission is revealed. "I can't believe it!" He exclaims, smiling. Alfred could probably see that he's made the Captain's day, like seeing a bit of time that he'd thought passed long ago.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Can, and am, of course not if you believe the papers." The smirk vanishes somewhat from Alfreds face as he gives Cap a quick pat on the back. "Still, I must say I should have expected you of all people to catch me out."

"Of course my retirement, and your time in the ice didn't exactly make much time for catching up." Alfred adds simply happy to still have someone around from the old days of way back when. "Glad to see you're still every spot the soldier, syrum worked a mite bit better on yourself then it did me."

Captain America has posed:
Steve keeps smiling, the nostalgia keeping him in the moment. "You're not doing too bad yourself, old timer. If your handshake proves any of your strength still. " He offers. "Yeah, the freeze, was interesting waking up and everything was...not quite what the World's Fair said it would be like."
