Cast of Characters: Captain America, Ahadiel

Captain America has posed:
In the aftermath of the FoH incursion, the Captain had to keep up appearances, make sure everyone was okay and all that entailed. It is the price of being so active when you are in the spotlight as much as the Captain is.

Steve had made a point of visiting Angela, something about her just...reminded him of his own past. It ate at the Captain, enough that he would specifically make a visit to the artist's loft. Steve had brought some cupcakes from a local bakery, and held those in his hand as he approached the loft door. A gentle, but verbose knock on the door announces his arrival. He was out of uniform, only in street clothes, helped him be as low-key as possible.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela answers the door, wearing a heavy apron that seems appropriate for a blacksmith more than an artist. But then again, that's what she really is. "Why, hello again!" She smiles brightly towards Steve, that smile looking somewhat familiar as she gestures, "Come in, come in... wait, are those cupcakes?" Her eyes perk up a bit at that, "That's so sweet, figuratively and literally."

Captain America has posed:
"Well, it would have been rude to show up empty handed." The Captain makes his way into the loft space. "Oh wow, this is quite the art space." Steve looks around and smiles. "I think I figured out where I know you, Angela. But its -almost- an impossibility."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela blinks, "Oh? Well, your shield is way too special for me to have made, I mean... I don't think I can work with vibranium or whatever that is. Though I'd love a chance to do so." She grins a bit, then looks curiously at the Captain, "Where would that be?" Because, well, little Steve Rogers isn't exactly the same young man as Captain America, from a physical sense.

Captain America has posed:
"Many many years ago there was a small sickly boy who had a knack for drawing. And a teacher that had encouraged his skills." He offers, digging in his pocket and taking out a class photo. Of course, the young Steven Rogers was front and center, in order to be seen in the photos. "Look familiar?" He says, passing both the cupcakes and the photo to Angela.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela takes the cupcakes, and... well, to her credit, she doesn't drop them when she sees the photo of her. She smiles a little, looking wryly at Steve for a moment. Then she says, without looking at the back, "Steven, never stop chasing your dreams. Elizabeth McAdams." Then she looks at the back of the photo, having written exactly that there, then she regards Steve, lips curling a bit as her hair is a different style, her clothing contemporary... but it's her. Definitely her.

"Well, I suppose you want some answers, but I have one thing you must answer first." She pauses, giving Steve that strict-but-warm expression he might find a bit familiar, "... did you keep up with your drawing?"

Captain America has posed:
Steve smiles, he never lost that upbeat optimism from his youth. "I did, until..." He gestures to his body. "This. I had taken to drawing funny strips, got some of my work in the papers too, but that was before the Axis dragged us into the war." Steve shrugs, his broad shoulders had been a far cry from how he used to be.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela nods, "I remember. I went over there as well. Did some work in Vichy France." She smiles a little, "Not art, this time. Worked with the Resistance there." A slight gesture, "Little Steven Rogers... I never thought, I mean, the name was common enough I didn't consider that you were Captain America." She laughs a little, tilting her head as she mmms, "You should focus on your art a bit again. You were so good at it. And it helps release stress. That's scientifically proven, you know." With that, she reaches out with her hand, fussing with his shirt a bit as she used to do back then. Then she catches herself, "Well, I'm sure you have questions to ask, yes?"

Captain America has posed:
Steve smiles in return. "I kept sketching, but I haven't done anything professionally, its just a good hobby now. I prefer it like that." He runs a hand through his blonde hair.

"The most obvious one first, how is it you are still alive? I mean, you didn't get frozen in the Pacific Ocean too?" He chuckles, even now remaining lighthearted.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela laughs, "Um... that's a bit of a long story. But I guess, you're an Avenger, so... well, I suppose you could say I was an 'Original' Avenger." She looks a bit impish at that, before saying, "Steven, I'm an angel. Um, literally, an angel formerly of vengeance." Even though she doesn't look it, but... well, okay, maybe she's just crazy. But she sounds pretty serious.

Captain America has posed:
Steve raises an eyebrow, while he isn't taken aback by the idea, he did manage a small smile from the irony. "I guess I get to add angels to the list of beings I have had contact with now." The Captain plays just a little bit. "And you became an art teacher in the 30s."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela nods, "Well, formerly of vengeance. Around... oh, 1300 BC or so, once humans discovered faith in the Name, I lost... motivation, for vengeance. It was easy to turn cities to salt or kill when you don't think humans have something in common with you. Then, well, you /believed/ in something better than yourselves. So I had, a change of heart."

Angela then leads the way upstairs, "Care for something to drink? Coffee, tea, something stronger?" Once upstairs, she sets the cupcakes on the kitchen counter, and says, "But yes, in the 1930s, I wanted to inspire children to believe in art, to create. It's something I've done, more or less, through the millennia."

Captain America has posed:
"So, that story about Lot's wife..." Steven follows as he is lead. "Tea would be fantastic." He doesn't mention that alcohols didn't really have an affect on the Avenger. "That...is about as noble of a purpose as I have ever heard. Considering I was one of those children you inspired." Steve smiles wide, the scrawny kid in him was humbled to have been a part of something like that.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela blushes, and grins, "Well, you definitely grew up to be more than even I envisioned. But I'm an angel of Creation, not Destiny." She sets up some water to boil for the tea, the old fashioned way. Then she mmms, "I normally don't take direct action, but the other day, at that rally..." Her face gets a bit hard, "Some habits regarding avenging are hard to break." She also gets out a few plates, the stern look fading a bit as she plates up the cupcakes too. Not quite tea and biscuits, but close enough!

Captain America has posed:
"Well, I am glad you took up arms with us. I hate that what was supposed to be a peaceful message turned so violent. But with all of the help I had there, I can't help but be optimistic for the cause in the future."

Steve looked around, sighing. "The people needed to know that Captain America was not going to stand for things like what Senator Creed had done. It's my duty to stand up when things like that happen."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela nods, pouring out the tea, "Sadly, hatred never seems to go out of style. Though humanity has come a long way." She smiles a bit, coming around with two plates with cupcakes, and then brings over the tea. "Honey with the tea, Steven?" Habits are hard to break, as she just reverts back to Teacher mode, even though she looks younger then him, now.

Captain America has posed:
"Sadly it seems we take one step forward, and take two steps back sometimes." Steve smiles through his disappointment, giving a nod. "Just a little bit of you don't mind. One thing I've learned after skipping into this century is that everything is way too sweet."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela gets a wry look, "Oh, you have no idea..." She laughs a bit, and does just a bit of honey then, before taking a seat across from Steve, stirring some into her own cup, "But, the Egyptians did make great beer. That's something I do like about this current era." Her lips curl a bit as she looks at Steve, cradling the teacup in her fingers, "I admit, it can feel like that. But, well, humanity has made progress, as a whole. It gives one hope." She smiles warmly at that, "Not that I need to tell you this, Steven, but never give up hope."

Captain America has posed:
"I'll never get over that, we were on rationing so long I hardly remember a birthday cake that actually was cake." Steve offers, giving a chuckle.

The captain takes a sip, just sweet enough, it was perfect. "Oh, that's one thug I'll never give up on. Humanity at least deserves chances to make up for past sins. I just try to guide us along."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela smiles, "And you do an excellent job at it. I admit to following you and other... heroes, in the press clippings. It's truly fascinating what you do." She sips her tea, then laughs, "Yes, it was definitely interesting. Thankfully, I don't need to eat." With that, she then plucks a cupcake from the plate, setting it on the saucer in front of her. "Though, I can if I wish, of course. Plus, it helps when I'm working on new recipes as well. Art, after all, is a matter of perspective."

Captain America has posed:
Cap couldn't help but give just a bit of a blush at the compliment. "It's just what we do. Someone had to step up against wrongdoing." The Star Spangled Man had definitely agreed. "'Art is in everything.' To paraphrase a teacher of mine. "

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela grins, blushing a bit herself, "Well... yes, it is. I'm amazed you remembered that. It's... good to know that I have made an impact in some small way." She shakes her head, giving Steven a wry look, "I must admit, I have doing a small amount of less... covert, aid. Some of these, I think they were called AIM?... individuals, were attempting to abduct people from the park when I was there. Thanks to some others that happened to be there, as well as myself, they were stopped."

Captain America has posed:
Another healthy sip of tea while he listened to Angela. "Good, AIM is a constant thorn in my side these days." He's noticed an uptick in their activity after the operation at their R&D facility. "I'm glad there are more people willing to help those in need out there." He honestly had no quarrel with anyone lending a helping hand if they are willing to offer it.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela nods, "Yes, I'm not too familiar with them. Save that they seemed most unpleasant... and were /not/ terribly impressed with an actual angel flying amongst their ranks smiting the unrighteous." She looks almost insulted by that, then chuckles dryly, "Science is not a religion, it is science. A pity that they don't realize that."

Captain America has posed:
"People believe what they want to believe. It's part of what makes us great, and can make us incredibly foolish." Is all the Captain can say, he wasn't able to put more together on the subject than that. "But...it's difficult to put logic to an illogical dogma."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela chuckles, "Oh, this is very true. If you want a bit of insider information... well, no one has gotten it right just yet. Though some are closer than others." What those are, she doesn't say as she sips her tea, "The problem is when people try and force other people to believe the same things they do. Free will is there for a /reason/."

Captain America has posed:
Steve has to chuckle lightly. "Well that's a relief. Personally, I just feel like being a man who lives by the golden rule." He offers up, not quite adhering to any specific theology himself.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela smiles at Steve, "Well, that's all that one could ask for. Just... don't ask how many of us can dance on the head of a pin, please?" She winks, making a little bit of a joke about that. "I suppose I should be more careful to maintain the illusion, but in an era where gods and heroes cavort openly, I don't think too many people would recognize me over the years. Well, aside from inquisitive students who get frozen for a while, anyway."

Captain America has posed:
Steve finishes his tea, smiling back with laughter. "I will try to remember not to ask." He offers a good belly laugh. "Well I sincerely doubt you'll have to worry about any from my time. But who knows?" The captain stands up, holding out a hand in camaraderie. "I'm sorry to have to leave so soon, but if you need anything, let me know." Steve was always the gentleman, holding out a small piece of paper with a direct line scrawled on it.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela blinks, and smiles, taking the offered paper, "Well, thank you Steven. It was... an unexpected pleasure seeing you again." She gives Steve a hug at that point, if allowed, even if he's all grown up now. Then she nods, "If you ever need... well, I doubt you'd need MY help with anything, but feel free to call if you'd like to reminisce."
