Date of Scene: 16 October 2017
Location: OPEN Girl's Room - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Miss Martian

Emma Frost has posed:
It's late at night, and Xavier's school for gifted youngsters is never totally without something going on. Ever the rumor mill has been turning since long before Friday, but that was an especially gossipy night as new words started to spread. It's been almost a whole weekend, and after Saturday, the door to the 'guest room' which is usually left open has been closed with lights peaking out from the gap of the door at the floor. Some rustling and some shuffling can be heard from the room, but nothing more than that.

Miss Martian has posed:
Megan is the new girl. And so looking around has been an interesting thing. It's a big place, and she knows full well that there are plenty of things that people aren't telling her. Still, there's lights under this door, where there aren't usually lights. And the sound of shuffling means someone is awake. So, she decides to do what she'd normally do, which is a quick sort of telepathic peek. Just trying to get a sense of how many people might be in there. Of course, to a trained telepath, they'd certainly notice that simple peek.

Emma Frost has posed:
That's something rather peculiar, M'gann would hear the sound of some--thing taping away, like glass touching glass and then an exaggerated sigh before the rapid tapping of a keyboard before that too pauses and a few mouse clicks can be heard via the small gap under the door.

The thing that really sets off this whole thing as weird, is that there's no mental presence, of any sort, in the room. The smallish dwelling is completely empty and blank. But ---

Miss Martian has posed:
Huh! That's strange. Maybe it's...some kind of a robot or something? It can't be a person, there'd be a mind in there. She could knock, but maybe...

Yes, she finally decides to take the polite path. As opposed to the "phase through the door and look" path. So she gives a gentle knock at the door. "Hello?" If there's a guest, maybe there's someone to talk to. Her attempts to bond with the student body have been...mixed.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma's head snaps towards the sound of the knocking, she's so unused to having people sneak up on her and it's something she's not enjoying. Standing to her feet, the woman looks down over her barrowed pajama pants and camisole and content with the thickish pink socks on her feet. Stepping towards the door her footfalls sound normal enough and she's not sliding around everywhere like she was we she snuck in.

Emma steps up to the door and lifts a hand towards the wooden barrier, and presses her glittering ear up against the door and listens. She doesn't respond quite yet.

Miss Martian has posed:
Okay...no answers? Now Megan resorts to her other path. If there's still no reply after her knocking, Megan phases, and sticks her head through the door. Of course, if Emma is still up against it, there's a decent chance she's going to phase through Emma's head too...

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma steps back after the second set of knocks, the woman, has turned around and is looking all around the room she's been assigned, her diamond hair twinkling in the light and against itself as she turns her head rapidly but eventually swallows her fear and turns towards the door. She cocks her hips to one side and crosses her crystalline esque arms beneath her chest and waits for the door to open.

Miss Martian has posed:
Except it doesn't, as much. A redheaded girl's head phases through the door. And...yep, there's a person. Maybe a person. She looks at the crystal person, and her first question is "Are you a robot?"

Emma Frost has posed:
The diamond woman with the crossed arms and ... clothes, stares at the redhead peaking through the doorway. "Do I look like a robot?" Emma asks, her right foot now tapping against the hardwood floor. The socks help her stand and not sound so alien, but her improved strength and weight makes the taps sound almost like bangs. Frost doesn't ask any other questions and continues to stare at the intruder.

Miss Martian has posed:
The girl looks a little awkward at that. "Err...well, I'm not sure?" She considers, then phases through the door the rest of the way, so she isn't halfway through a door. "I'm not sure what you're made out of. Are you a guest here?" she asks, considering. "You look a little old to be a student..."

Emma Frost has posed:
"I'm not sure what I'm made out of." Emma says, lifting a finger from the crook of her elbow and tapping the diamond against her bicep, making a tinny clinking sound. Further emphasizing she's not flesh any more. She's something totally different.

The headmistress continues to look towards M'gann's eyes, noding once. "I'm a guest, yes. No, I'm not a student... Is that acceptable?" The former blonde asks, wondering if the school here allows intruders into any room, but not voicing this concern just yet. This girl, this invader may prove to be useful to Emma.

Miss Martian has posed:
"Oh, sure!" Megan chimes. "Honestly, it's nice to meet someone! I'm a new student here, so I haven't really met many people here." She fades back into full density, no longer translucent. "My name's Megan." She looks at Emma more carefully. "It's like you're made out of some kind of crystal. That looks really cool!" She tilts her head, curiously. "But...you don't have any telepathic presence. You're sure you're not a robot?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma notes mentally that this girl is very open and willing to do things other might find inappropriate. Very interesting. "Again, I'm quite sure I'm not a robot Megan." The White Queen responds. She knows very well about the lack of her telepathy, Jean was kind enough to divulge that little tidbit when Emma mentioned she couldn't sense or even hear anyone else. It's been a truamatic week with a cherry on top kind of weekend for the telepath turned Diamond Queen.

"Well, Megan. It's ... not something I'm used to, and yet, the asthetics of it are certainly growing on me." Emma retorts, trying to keep herself positive, and up beat.

Miss Martian has posed:
The redhead smiles. "Well, it's pretty at least!" She says, looking over at the light playing on the crystal. "I've just never met anyone who I couldn't sense mentally who isn't a robot." The Martian girl smiles, and looks at her own hand, which turns sort of white, then sort of clear, then gets sort of facet lines. Nothing convincingly diamond, though. "Wow. That's HARD to try and match." She looks back up to Emma, and smiles. "So, I'd ask why you're visiting...but honestly, I'm so new here it would probably just go right over my head." She waves that hand over her head, as it reverts to normal appearance. "Have you eaten? I've been exploring the place, but I found the kitchen plenty fast!"

Emma Frost has posed:
Finally, a question Emma doesn't mind answering. "No. I haven't, but -" She pauses to look down towards her own belly and lifts a hand to it for a moment. "I don't think I'm too hungry at the moment."

"Megan." Emma begins, stepping forwards and yet still keeping her arms closer to her own body, she's not very touchy feely. "I'd appreciate you not trying to mimic my state of being. It's a new development. One I'm not entirely comfortable with, so I would appreciate a little understanding, empathy, and respect." Her tone is concise, but not rude. Emma's having a difficult time, and how would this girl know that if she wasn't informed.

Miss Martian has posed:
Megan looks awkward. "Oh, sorry! I just thought it looked kind of pretty. But I totally understand how it can be weird when powers suddenly show up." And that gets a bright expression on her face. "Oh! Is that it?! New powers?! That could be really awesome." She considers. "Not hungry, so I can't bake cookies. Is there anything that you might like to do?" And she pauses a little after that. "Orrrr....I might be completely intruding and you're just being polite to the weirdo who barged into your room." She slaps her head. "/Hello/, Megan. I can totally go, you know, if you want privacy, or something like that."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma does loosen her mood, just a little bit. "A cookie would be nice... And some wine." She adds. Looking to M'gann, knowing her hopes will likely be just that, hope, Emma sighs softly before admitting defeat, "You wouldn't have any wine here. This is a school."

"I'll have one. One. Cookie with you Megan, but then I'm coming back up here, and going to bed."

Miss Martian has posed:
Megan grins. "That's awesome! Cookies make everything better. Especially chocolate ones." She pauses, and looks over to Emma. "I...still don't know your name." she says a little awkwardly, as she turns back to the door to actually open it this time, rather than just phasing through it. "So, are you a mutant? Cause usually mutants get their powers earlier, I thought."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma's here in secret, so she doesn't tell the martain her real name, instead using a ... "Call me Grace." Using her middle name. "Yes, Megan. I'm a mutant, and that's /usually/ how things go, but there's always an exception to the rule." Not that she's anything special, other than the fact she's totally special and the world will implode if it learned Emma Frost is a mutant.

Miss Martian has posed:
Megan starts down the hallway, till she starts into the kitchen. "Grace is a pretty name. Goes good with the look, honestly." She moves over to a jar, and opens it. "I made these earlier today." She brings it over and sets it on the table. "I...don't know if I'm allowed to get wine. I could get you some milk? Or, you're an adult, so you could get the wine, probably?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma reaches her hand out to take the cookie and slowly eats it, careful to not over indulge herself in any capacity. Yeah, she remembers a few things from the week prior.

"Don't worry about the wine. I don't want to be a poor influence on you Megan." Emma smiles faintly.

She's halfway through her cookie before she looks back to Megan and starts to ask a question, but she doesn't. It's something she would have gleamed via her telepathy only a few days ago, and now it's gone. Like, she's deaf... "I'm sorry. I-I have to go." She says and quickly makes her way out of the kitchen and back up towards her room.

Miss Martian has posed:
Megan looks over as the diamond woman starts to leave. "Huh? What did I do? Grace? You don't have to go!" She says, her words chasing Emma down the hall as she leaves.
