Yes there is a doctor in the house...
Date of Scene: 03 November 2017
Location: Xavier's School, Westchester, New York
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Beast, Deadzone, Breath, Genesis, Cyclops

Beast has posed:
The great thing about having your school in a mansion is that almost nearly every room has a chandeleir or rafters. Which suits Doctor Henry "Hank" MmcCoy, aka The Beast, just fine since he loves to hang out when he works.. literally. Dressed in oxford tweed AND a lab coat, the blue furred feline/simian scientist dangles by a single claw-like foot from a chandelier in the Wellness Room, tapping away on his tablet as he updates his medical files on the students he has had coming through the room for the past week for end of year physicals.

"I swear some of these children need to cut down on the sugar.. Pre-Diabetes is /not/ a joke.." he grumbles.. then reaches into his pocket with a free hnd and pulls out a twinkie on which he bites off the wrapper and stuffs the sugar laden confectionary into his maw.

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum sits at the desk and helps Dr. McCoy with the updating of the student files. When he makes his comment about Pre-Diabetes, she pauses in her typing to look up at him. "Was that supposed to be some sort of comment about my own blood sugar, Doctor," she asks with a smirk as she grabs a lolly to pop inot her mouth. "Who is next for their physical?"

Breath has posed:
Lyssa slips in and looks around, carrying a duffle bag and blinking a bit, looking faintly out of place as a non-student. "Uh." She hmms and looks for someone that looks like they have some sort of records-tinkering-with-ness.

She waves meekly. "I have an appointment? I'm a little bit early, though.. I hope that's okay?" She bites her lip and crosses her feet at her ankles nervously.

Genesis has posed:
The lights flicker through the school, and from down the hall comes a "Yeouch!" preceded by a light zapping noise, and light that lights the hallway. This is only momentary of course as the power catches back up, and silence fills the halls or at least as silent as it gets around here. It is only momentary as a boy opens the door to one of the labs further in, and sprays what looks to be fire extinguisher into the room filling it up with the white smoke though with a cough, and a wave tries to clear the area out. He was late, and in a hurry so made a simple mistake of reversing the polarities of the magnetic field which of course caused a.... small... overload.

With a look either way he runs back into the room picking up his project and leaves again tossing the fire extinguisher inside with a promise to clean it up after he was done with his meeting. So after all that he walks into the room with the others he is a small boy maybe four feet tall with blue skin, and black hair. His eyes glow red, and he has wierd lines that go from the corners of his mouth to over his ears. He is wearing the standard student outfit, but is covered head to toe with white foam not to mention the singes in the outfit from being stuck by a high voltage mistake. Not looking up he walks into the room.. "Sorry I am late.." he offers going to where he hops to sit down and not attrack more attention then he was supposed to.. Though a few steps in he stops, and looks at the others in the room.. "Wait... am I in the right place?"

Beast has posed:
Hank looks 'up', which is of course down for him, at Tatum with an expression of pure innocence. "My dearest, would I ever prevaricate regarding the bloodsugar of not only my sweetness but the woman who is also the home economics teacher whose duty is to not only teach, nay I say inspire, the children on a path of education regarding their dietary needs but is also the lovely woman who also /plans/ the dietary requirements for the students meal plans?" he asks sweetly?

He turns his leonine head to Lyssa as she enters and offers her a smile of sharp catlike teeth. "Only a little bit early. That is never a bad thing. Though I am awaiting on one of teh other newer students as well so we should give them a few minutes more to...

The lights flicker and Hank's hearing can pick up the chaos from a few doors down.."I believe that is him, now." he says as Evan walks in moments after Lyssa. The scientist drops to the floor, twisting gracefully to land in a crouch, and readusts his spectacles that somehow never once fell off his feline-like muzzle. "Ah yes, And you must be Evan." he says. "You are most definately in the right place.." he then eyes the state of the newer student and shakes his head. "Oh my... Yes yes, best you take a seat on one of the beds.." he then looks to Lyssa. "You as well, Don't worry, I will draw the privacy curtains on each."

Deadzone has posed:
"Hank, my love, you forgot again. I got transferred to the music department, remember? I still help the students though, until we get a new home ec teacher, so I guess I have two jobs now." She blows the blue furry doctor a kiss before the two students enter.

As the students are instructed to sit on the beds, she stands to put on her own labcoat, acting as the doctor's assistant. She gets two rolling trays lined and assembles the tools he will need for their physicals. "Is this a with or without powers physical, Dr. McCoy?" she asks, for now keeping her own power close to her skin.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa ohs and nods, swallowing a bit and blinking at the sudden entrances. "Uuhm." She adjusts her voice a bit and waves at Evan cutely, then nods at the direction and starts moving over to the bed and sits cross-legged, adjusting herself and smoothing her skirts. She smiles quietly and tilts her head over at Hank at that one, obviously wanting to say hello but not wanting to interrupt.

Genesis has posed:
Evan looks at hank, and tilts his head like he is processing what was told to him. Though he nods to him in compliance "very well.." he walks to where he was pointed his look never changing as this was perfectly normal for him though he was a bit nervious around all the new people. He wished he had his hoodie to hide his features, but they said he shouldn't wear it around here so he left it in his room. So far he had not needed it, but it was wierd for him to just be out in the open like this without people screaming, or chasing him.

He spots Lyssa waving at him, and seems to turn a bit redder immeditly looking down at the ground, and away from her in fear not sure what to do or say he quickly walks to place where he is supposed to sit. He was never good with dealing with people, and new people made him nervious.. though he stops before the table and turns a bit stiffly giving Lyssa a small very quick wave back before he turns again looking away releasing a deep breath. It had taken most of what he had to do that, but he was told he should try to be more outspoken so there was his best attempt

Before getting on the table he very slowly takes an object out of his pocket. It seems to light up like a light-bulb as he holds it in his hand though he handles it like one would a broken egg. Very carefully, and very slowly he lays it next to where he is supposed to sit, though when he releases it the light goes out again. He then climbs up on the place he was told to sit, and again seems very carefull like he is afraid he is going to break whatever he touches.. Hank would prob know about the numerous doors he had already broken acidently, not to mention the handles that just bent in his grip.

Beast has posed:
Hank checks his tablet again, readjusting those spectacles of his. "For now, my dear, it will be with powers." he says, then looks at the pair of students. "You of course, I have met before." he tells Lyssa, then looks to the Blue skinned young man. "You, I have not, so Let me introduce myself. I am Doctor Henry McCoy M.D., M.S., Ph.D, etc etc etc.." he grins more now. "I am the schools Biochemistry teacher, head of sciences, school doctor and all around fabulous person. This lovely woman is Miss Tatum. Today you are here for your baseline physicals so we can get them on record. Other than the blood test they are non-invasive. Miss Tatum is here because her power set allows her to negate abilities temporairily, if need be for safety reasons."

He steps down the lane between the two students and pulls out a small scanner thing from his pocket and runs it over Evan first while staring at the tablet in his other paw. "Hmmmmm.... yes yes..." he murmurs. If he wasn't blue and in tweed he could be a different Doctor McCoy. "So how are you two liking the school so far?" he asks, almost TOO conversatioally.

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum nods to Hank, keeping her powers in close and avoiding touching the students. She lets McCoy do his work, passing him items he needs and mostly staying out of the way. She smiles to Lyssa and gives the androgynous girl a polite nod.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa ums, "Well, I haven't really been here much. The people I met seemed nice though..." She (you might assume, based on the mannerisms and skirt, anyways..) hmms, then smiles at Miss Tatum. "Hiya. Um... That isn't going to make me explode like a balloon or anything, is it? 'Cause like, y'know, I don't want to lose the ability to hold everything I have. Capacitor, not generator."

Genesis has posed:
The boy listens patiently he seems to be focused on the words as he watches him work. He didn't know much about medical things, but he had been exploring electricity, and making things so he seems to focus on the scanner while he is scanned though he doesn't object. Finally he speaks up after Hank is done careful not to interupt him as he was apperently the person in charge this time, and though it would of confused him before he was getting use to the schools ways. They seemed to like splitting things up, and changing who was in charge for individual activities though it seemed whoever was leading was very focused on being able to do the task. It had not been difficult for him to memorize the names of course, as it just seemed whatever he learned he remembered though each was different so dealing with them was difficult at times.

He finally spoke up, "My name is Evan doctor, and I like it here very much there are lots of books to read." he states planly though he doesn't offer a hand or move as he can't really touch people without them getting hurt. "I am afraid I can not have my powers nullified... if that happends it could be very bad or so I was told by my family doctor." he offers kinda watching Tatum if she approaches he would back up.

He continues shortly, "I have a... virus that is techno-organic... My natrual state fights it off, but without powers it could spread through me or possibly others." he had never been without his power so isn't sure what would happen. He does point to his skin which in a way does have a slight metalic look to it though only slightly, before he continues.. "I am sorry if this is an inconvience, but I will cooperate in any other way." He wasn't trying to be rude, but the concept of him losing the powers was not a good one, and so he just looks at the ground again waiting for Hank to yell at him for not following instructions.

Cyclops has posed:
Seems it is time for everyone to get a checkup. It's good medical practice, of course. The first X-Man walks in, clad in his normal jeans and shirt, along with glasses. "Hey, Hank." He offers, looking in and taking a look at those in the room. "If I'm interrupting, I can come back."

The geometry teacher looks around, taking an empty seat if he is allowed.

Deadzone has posed:
Laughing at Lyssa's question. "No, my power doesn't work that way. It seems that what it does is reverts a person back to their baseline 'normal', before their x-gene mutated. So, however you were as a baby, that's what my power will revert you too. If you were born with your powers, I will make no change. If you weren't, then they are gone. Though it seems to work differently for aliens. Different physiologies, I'm assuming."

Listening to Evan's explaintion about the techno-organic virus, she bites her lip. Hank knows that look. She's thinking about things she knows from her world but isn't wanting to affect this world's timeline by interfering.

Walking over to Scott, Tatum gestures to one of the chairs. "We will get to your check-up too, Mr. Always Shows Up Early For All Appointments," she says in a teasing tone, bapping him on the nose with a finger, allowing Scott to, for a very brief moment, see in colour

Beast has posed:
Hank grins at Evan as he continues his scan. "Well yes, Being a school and all we do tend to have quite the selection of printed books to choose from. I am rather proud of our library. One of the largest private collections in the country and, possibly, the most eclectic as well." he tells him. He then raises a brow. "Cannot be nullified?" he asks, then hmmms.. "That is something I would like to tst but this would not be the venue to do so right now. Then again, your doctor might not udnerstand the nature of this variant of nullification which Tatum exhibits as well."

He loks to Lyssa. "The power nullification does not make you lose control. It basically puts the mutagenetic process into temporary stasis, thus it effects diffeent mutants differently. Most it deactivates powers that eminates energies, without loss of personal energy containment. When I amin her field, my atavistic mutation recedes and I become more human looking, but I do not regress physically beyond that. My furry form is a secondary mutation, which is why it goes away." he then looks to Evan again. "Like she said, if your mutation was from birth the physical manifestation will not go away though some abilites may still be nullified."

He Waves at Scott as he enters. "Not bothering us at all, Scott. Just getting a baseline from these two." he does, however, raise a brow at the mention of a techno organic virus. "Really? Now /that/ is interesting. Did your own body produce it as part of your mutation?" he asks, after catching /that/ look from Tatum. "Because if so, coming across a terrestrial evolution of a techno organic virus would be fascinating.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa frowns as Tatum manages to completely miss the point of her question. "Um.. No, I mean, I have like.. I dunno, like fifty thousand cubic feet of air in my lungs, and like, human lungs aren't really made for that? So like, if I get downgraded to the standard equipment... Um.. but if you say it doesn't mess with containment? Then okay."

She waggles her fingers at Scott vaguely and listens, since she was the second patient. "And I don't know when it started. I just, like... never noticed. Somehow. I was kind of distracted."

Deadzone has posed:
Lyssa explains further and Tatum nods her head as she starts to understand what she meant. "My power has only ever killed two people before. It was on my world though, not here, and both of those deaths had extenuating circumstances that added to the situation." She's going to be honest with them, but it's never fun to remind oneself that others have died at their hand.

Genesis has posed:
the boy looks up not getting the yelling he though was going to happen so has a confused look on his face. He doesn't know that Tantum knows about it as he isn't that good at reading people yet, but does his best to answer the question. "I am sure the doctor was quite through in his tests.. Though I have not seen him since I left for the school. He was nice to me though... I will remember that." and thinks about the doctor for a moment. If only they knew who that doctor was they prob would not think so kind of him, but to Evan he was always kind, and he had no idea.

He thinks about the second question.. "I was... born with it, like my mutation I have been this way since birth or so I was told.. I umm..." he looks down again unsure.. "I never met my real parents.. so I can't say if they had it." though he clears his throat after that.. "And I like the furry version... It is a nice color." and gives a small smile to Hank. He also nods to Scott, as it was the first time since the vampires he had seen him. He was glad he was okay as what they fought was wierd, but he doesn't speak to him instead focusing on the Doctor infront of him. "Doctor.. I know scientificly it may be interesting, but from what I was told it is very bad.. Something to be left alone I am sorry, but that is all I really know."

Beast has posed:
Hank finishes up scanning Evan and steps back, smiling. "Thank you for the compliment, Evan. I like my blue furry self as well, even though it took me a while to get used to it." he tells him. He checks the tablet. "I really need to get ahold of your previous doctor and see if I can confer with him. I also note your dermis extrememly dense and I would rather draw blood using better equipment so we can do that tomorrow." he says, then turns to Lyssa and starts to scan Lyssa next.

"As I said, Tatums nullification ability is, yto teh best fo my knowledge, a form of Quantumn Stasis on the mutagenetic level. For all intents and purposes, an affected mutants X-gene is literally paused on a quantum level. In your case young lady any air your lungs were holding would also go into a similar quantum flux, existng yet not existsing, at the same time. Thing of it as a Schroedinger paradox." he informs her.

He looks over his shoulder at Tatum. "Until I have youg EVans blood worked up, it is best hat you, perhaps, not attempt nullification of his abilities unless it is an emergancy. Techno Organic Virii, while viralent as the name suggests, don't casually jump from host to host all willy nilly.. And yes that is a scientific term. But we do not know how it is reacting with his abilities, or if he is their source, so it is best to be sure before we test things out."

DOne scanning Lyssa he puts down the wand ad pulls out something that looks like a felt pen with it's cap on. "This is sonic haemoglobin retreival device. It uses an ultrasonic pulse to create an inverse pressure area at a subcelluar point to pull blood through the skin. It is painless. Just roll up your sleeve."

Cyclops has posed:
The touch from Tatum allows for that brief moment of clarity. He chuckles just a bit. "I wanted to ask, if you can use your gift to let Hank give my eyes a once-over. I want to make sure whatever allows me to do what I do, isn't damaging them." A little worrysome, but when you can carve mountains with your eyes, you kinda worry about the soft fleshy parts.

"Techno-organic virus..." he keeps quiet for now, but he's sure he's heard that before from somewhere.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa rolls her sleeve up. "Sure thing. I'm used to needles. Twice a week. My last shot was Tuesday night. What are you checking this time?" She holds her arm out.

She knows absolutely nothing of techno-organic anything, so that particular bit of subtext flies completely over her head. Probably for the best, really.

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum nods her head to Hank as he instructs her not to touch Evan or use his power. "Well, in that case, don't go making trouble. I'm in charge of detention around here and detention is a power free zone. So, try to stay out of trouble," she tells the teen with a smirk.

She nods to Scott and heads over to get his file, tapping at the computer and sending it to the tablet in Hank's hand. When Scott also mentions the virus, Hank would note that there is a hint of worry in his fiance's eyes. She looks away then, back at the computer with her back to the room. "DOn't worry, Mr. Summers. We'll check out your peepers as soon as we're finished here with the students. Always good to give you a look and see."

Genesis has posed:
Evan nods, and is glad that he decided to not go ahead with the nullification. He wasn't sure if he wanted to give blood or not for now that subject was moot as he seemed to be focused on the other peson in the room. He thought about all that air in that small of a person. Well true he was smaller then they were, but still that was a lot of space so it was still something to be amazed about. He takes the moment to wipe some of the C-02 from the extiquisher off of him and watches the room carefully... quietly. He won't interupt again unless asked because he much rather just be the fly on the wall then the one in the spotlight.

He was a bit surprised as well that no-one was freaking out running for the exit, or putting him in a small locked room as virus usually ment keep far far away. He wasn't complaining he liked not being stuck in one place though if that is what he must do he would do it. While no-one was looking he reached out a hand, and his arm seemed to extend out further and further like it was rubber or something and he picks up the scanner Hank put down. He did keep his distance from Tatum while he did it, but after he picks it up he slowly retracts his arm, and holds it infront of him looking it over to try to figure out how it works. Though he does give Tatum a small smile, and nod as he does it.. "Umm... I will do from this point on Miss."

Beast has posed:
Should hank be more worried about Techno Organic Viruses? Probably. But this child has had it for his whole entire life so far so it is probably well in control for the time being since he hasn't heard of any outbreaks. Logically it should be safe.. for now.

Ahem.

He presses the hypo against Lyssa's arm and there is a buzz-hiss and the small vial fills with blood. "Excellent." he says and then looks at Scott. "Sounds liek a plan to me. Better than teh first time we tried, right? before Tatum got here? It took us a week to fix the hole in the side of the school..."

AT that moment there is a small girl with red giogtails poking her head in the door. "Doctor McCoy? Virgil got his probiscis stuck in a test tube again..."

Hank winces and quickly puts the blood sample in the fridge. "Yes yes, Anne, I will be right there." he says, looking exhasperated. "Forgive me, everyone. Science emergancy in the grade four chem lab... again..."
