Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Captain America, Radiance

Captain America has posed:
It is a November afternoon and the sun is getting low outside while the wind picks up and a bit of rain falls. The sort of day folks spend inside so Steve is in the gym today. Training and preperation is always top priority with him even if an obvious threat isn't quite so obvious. He is dressed in a white Tshirt with the Avengers logo in the upper right hand corner and a pair of gym shorts. He glances up at the clock as he is expecting a guest and possible trainee today in the Avengers Mansion.

Radiance has posed:
Hermione was so happy when Tony told her where she was going today that she kissed him. On the cheek, and she apologized right after, but a kiss none the less. She flew over, twisting in the air and doing acrobatics like she was a plane from the Blue Angels and almost as fast!

When she arrives at the mansion, she has been expected and is directed to the change room. Not too much longer, she enters the gym, wearing a t-shirt much like Steve's own, only with tights, socks and runners. Her hair is worn in a long braid down her back. "Hello Captain Rogers, Sir. It's so lovely to see you again!"

Captain America has posed:
"Good afternoon, Miss Langond." Steve smiles and walks over to offer his hand to shake. "Welcome to Avengers Mansion. Good to see that Tony got you the invitation." He gestures towards the sparring mats and some protective gear. "I know you are a flyer, but you are going to have to fill me in on just how much training you have had. As you aren't an Avenger and Tony tends to always play information close to the vest, I only know what I have seen so far."

Radiance has posed:
Taking Steve's hand, Hermione is so excited that she doesn't stop herself from using quite a great deal of her strength. Her glow is there, but dimmed due to having used a lot of her juice on the speed of her flight to the mansion. "Umm.. well... I don't know if you can see it, but I glow a little? More when I've got a full charge. I haven't figure out what it does yet. And I seem to be pretty strong and... I've actually managed to sorta shrug off bullets. Well, not my clothes, but me." She wipes her hands on her hips, excitedly looking at you. "I've been told I don't punch very well. The term used was girly-girl. I was told to stop putting my thumb in my fist and to keep my eyes open when I hit people." She's trying so hard to not prattle on excitedly, but it's hard when you are standing next to one of your personal heroes.

Captain America has posed:
Steve nods as he listens. "Yes, putting the thumb in your fist can cause you to break your hand. Then there will be no punching well." He leans over and picks up some of the sparring gloves and offers them to Hermione. "As for keeping your eyes open, I would say that would increase your chances of hitting someone by a factor of ten at least." He offers a smile as he goes to get a target pad. "So flight. Some invulnerability. Increased strength too?" He comes back over with the pad. "The glow we can figure out as we go I am sure."

Radiance has posed:
Taking the gloves that are offered, Hermione puts them on. "I've just never really hit anyone before. Well, other then my brothers. But they don't really count because I was never really trying to hurt them. I was more of a cheering on the side with the pom poms sorta girl, then a on the field and doing the sports kind. From what I can tell? Other then the glow, I'm sorta a poor man's Wonder Woman." She then seems to realize what she said and her eyes go wide. "Not to say that I think she is any way not absolutely incredible. Please don't tell her I said that!"

Captain America has posed:
Steve chuckles at the embarassment. "No worries. What is said in the gym, stays here. If I do my job right, you will probably be cursing me out at some point." He puts a leg behind him as a brace and holds up the pad towards Hermione. "Go ahead and give me a jab. I want to see what I am working with to start."

Radiance has posed:
Laughing, Minnie shakes her head. "I would never curse Captain Rogers. And certainly not directed at someone." She giggles. She waits for him to raise the pad and she raises her own hands. She looks at her hands, making the fists the proper way. She takes a deep breath, looking at the pad nervously. "Okay... just a jab," she says, mostly to herself. She starts to close her eyes and then opens them again, remembering. Another deep breath and she winces and throws the punch. No follow through. More like a cat swiping at a toy. That said though, she has enough oomph behind that "punch" that she could stop a car with it.

Captain America has posed:
Steve slides on the mat from the punch but remains on his feet. He nods. "Good. So you have strength. Now you just have to learn how to use it. This time, I want you to punch but imagine punching through the pad. Don't just tap me this time." He braces himself once more, bringing the pad up. "And don't worry about breaking the pads. We had these things designed with Simon Williams in mind so they can take some punishment and not hurt me at the same time."

Radiance has posed:
Min squeaks nervously when Steve slides a couple feet. "I'm sorry! I just really don't want to hurt you. I'd never forgive myself." But he seems alright and he tells her to punch him again. The mention of yet another Avenger gets a fangirl giggle out of the young woman and she takes a deep breath and bites at her lip and holds her breath as she takes another swing. This time, that cat swiping motion has more oomph to it as she tries to hit through the pad.

Captain America has posed:
Steve side steps from the punch and shoves the pad towards Hermione for a tap. "Don't swing. Straight forward to start with here. You swing and it is just a telegraph." He moves backwards along the mat after trying to tap her with the pad. "Don't be sorry. I have gone toe to toe with some pretty rough characters. I've survived. I need you to be confident and sure when you throw a punch."

Radiance has posed:
She nods her head and shakes her hands to try and shake off the nervousness. "Yes Sir," she replies. She repeats his instructions. "Straight forward." She closes her eyes, nodding to herself as she starts imagining it like a cheer routine. "Confident while punching? So, act like my brothers," she says with a smirk. This time when she punches, it's a one-two jab. Right left. If he knows Beyonce, she was humming Single Ladies when she did it. Well... it worked.

Captain America has posed:
"Much better," Steve says with a slight grunt after the impact. "Lets do it again. I want you to try and knock me off my feet. Keep going." He circles to his left, keeping the pad towards her, with his eyes watching her actions as he moves.

Radiance has posed:
Minnie practically glows with the praise, smiling at Steve with those big brown eyes full of hero worship. As Hermione starts thinking of fighting as more of a cheer routine then of her imparting bodily harm on a person, she grows more confident. It helps that Steve isn't being sent flying across the room like anyone else she has dealt with. As he circles to the left, she moves to her right, keeping him in her sights.

Captain America has posed:
Steve steps in with the pad held in front of him attempting to push her with the pad much as he might use his shield. He is quick on his feet after years of doing this, trying to move in faster than she can compose herself into striking first. "First rule when ever we do this. Protect yourself at all times."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione backs up as Steve gets closer. Her smile starts to fade. It's hard to punch when he gets so close! Instinctively, she rises into the air a few inches and in doing so is much more adept at keeping the distance she wants. Bruce or Tony would say that her hovering and still having strength behind her punches should be totally against the laws of physics, and yet she's still doing it.

Captain America has posed:
Steve isn't much of a scientist so he certainly won't make the case for physics. As she hovers off the ground, Steve presses in faster now. Still trying to tag her with the pad. "The best way to keep me at bay is to punch. Not fly. Don't retreat. Any strike that you do when moving away will be weak no matter how you hold your fists."

Radiance has posed:
Min wonders how she's supposed to punch when Steve keeps closing the distance. She frowns, her brow furrowing as she tries to keep him from getting closer by punching as he instructs. She starts hitting harder and harder with each hit, trying to push Steve back and give her some breathing room.

Captain America has posed:
Steve takes the first couple of strikes, using the pad to glance them off target. As she starts to hit harder, he nods. "There you go. Don't hold back here." Another hit stops his advance as he slides again with a grunt of air escaping him. "Take control. Go on the offensive. Just keep thinking, follow through. Finish. Commit to it all or else there is no point."

Radiance has posed:
As she stops thinking of Cap as her hero and just thinks of what she is doing, Hermione's ability improves. Each bit of advice that is given to her molds the sparring for the next bit. She's never thought of herself as an offensive person, but she gets into the moment and it's not *her* that is sparring. It's the hero inside her that she wants to be.

Captain America has posed:
Finally there is that hit that shakes the pad and stops Steve from moving. "There we go," he says with a bit of a gasp of breath as he recovers from the hitting and blocking and moving. "Very good," Steve says with a nod. "I'm sure you have heard the old adage about a good offensive is a good defense. You control the fight. You dictate the pace. Keep off your heels." He stops and sets the pad down.

Radiance has posed:
Hermione is breathless when Steve stops them both. She hasn't worked this hard since training for nationals with her cheer squad. She smiles, glowing from both the light within as well as a fine sheen of dew on her brow. "Keep off my heels? That shouldn't be hard with me flying," she jokes. "But I know what you are trying to say. When I'm in a fight, I can't be shy. If I have to fight, then shyness isn't going to help me at all."

Captain America has posed:
"Exactly," Steve says with a nod. "If you commit to a fight, that has to be your focus. You commit everything to winning it as quickly as possible and move on to the next step. I don't fight because it is a fun thing to do. I fight because I have to in certain circumstances. At those times, I go for the win first. Don't play around. You watch any well trained fighter, and there won't be that incesent chatter and taunting."

Radiance has posed:
"You mean like Mr. Stark is known for?" Minnie asks, a slow smile creeping on her lips. She may practically worships the ground he walks on but she's not completely blind to his faults. "So, talk to avoid the fight, but when the fighting starts, commit to it completely." She brushes a bit of hair over her ear and starts to beam her smile at Steve. "Thank you so very much, Sir. You... I can't thank you enough."
