Date of Scene: 05 January 2018
Location: Angelo's Pizza - Brooklyn
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: April O'Neil, Michelangelo, Shazam

April O'Neil has posed:
7:15pm on a Friday night. Angelo's Pizza is pretty busy. Lots of people in the main seating area and lots of kids over by the arcade machines and video game console tvs.

April O'Neil is in line, she's been getting a barage of texts from the Turtles wanting to know where their pizzas were. She's holding her phone in her hands and reading them while waiting. The young reporter is wearing her yellow leather jacket and has a white scarf around her neck, blue jeans and tall black leather boots on her feet.

She looks up and moves forward in line to the counter, when its hur turn... now with phone at her side.

"Uh yeah. I'll have..." She looks back at her phone and starts to sound off her long order of large pies. The employee is well aware of April and all her orders for her 'work place'.

Michelangelo has posed:
In this case, Michelangelo isn't inside the store. Though he'd sure as hell like to be, given the amazing smells coming from it! Given its crowded nature however, and how people still haven't really accepted the Turtles as a whole, Mikey remains outside. Not JUST outside though. He's waiting in his supremely cool retro-fitted and heavily modified Volkswagen van! The Turtle Van is painted mostly green and yellow, with some bright green fairy lights around the windshield for likely nothing more than effect.
Inside the drivers seat is the orange bandana wearing turtle, three fingered green hands grasped onto the steering wheel with anticipation. Given the windows were mostly tinted, he was safe from glancing eyes. With a lick of his lips he giggles just a smidgen, ready to pick up the pizzas that April is picking up. "Ohmanohmanohmanohman..." He drawls lowly, waiting for the food AND April to arrive from inside the shop. It was a double whammy! "I'm so pumped for this pizza! Come on April! Don't leave me hanging!"

Shazam has posed:
The erstwhile "World's Mightiest Mortal" lands in an alley next to Angelo's Pizza, Mikey might get a glimpse of red and gold. He glances around and says his magic word "SHAZAM!" and storm clouds gather and a huge magic lightning bolt shoots down and hits Captain Marvel and turns him back in the intrepid boy reporter for WHIZ Media, Billy Batson.

He whips around the corner, noting the van with a puzzled look, before he enters the pizzeria and says a bit out of breath, "Golly! could I get a large deep dish New York pepperoni to go please?" He's super polite about it though, until he sees April O'Neal and blinks, "Oh gosh! Ms. O'Neil! I'm your biggest fan! It was the stories you did on crime in Downtown New York that spurred me to join WHIZ Media as a reporter!" He seems super earnest and almost Leave-It-To-Beaverish.

April O'Neil has posed:
April had placed her order for all four of the turtles (and a small spaghetti for Master Splinter) ... but she also got a warm-up pizza for Mikey out in the van, cause the others had to be prepared yet. The warm-up pie was whatever was currently ready and able to be handed over to her immediately.

April was in the process of turning around when Billy Batson was suddenly there. "Oh... hey." She said to him, trying to recollect a name to put to his face. "Biiilly... right?" She said, flashing him a pretty smile then. April held a pizza box in one hand and her phone in the other. She texted Mikey. <Got you a pizza, on my way out. Others are being cooked>.

April's eyes went back up to Billy. "I'm always glad to hear someone enjoys what I do. Its way nicer than being told 'Hey toots, like what you were wearin' today on air'." April did a fake cliche New Yorker accent when she mocked someone with those last words.

Michelangelo has posed:
The old adage of 'Well, This Is New York After All' rings true when Michelangelo spots the glimpse of red and gold, followed by a sudden MAGIC BOLT OF LIGHTNING. While his jaw hangs open a little in stunned surprise, he opts to just continue on as if nothing happened.
This Is New York, After All.
Taking a breath, he shakes his head clear of that moment and focusses on the thing that really matters here: April delivering pizza. Now if only she were on roller skates! That would complete the fantasy. As the turtle humanoid starts to daydream of what that would look like, his phone buzzes on the dash, and in doing so, Mikey jumps in surprise. Juggling the phone a little, he reads the text and fires back a message by mashing his fingers onto the screen. <gurl u a life saver 4 real. u got the combo breadsticks as well, right?>

Shazam has posed:
Billy blushes, "Ohmygosh, you even know my name and I'm not even famous! Holy moley!" He fans himself a bit, blushing bright red as he attempts to calm down. He then says, "Gosh, that's a lot of pizza to carry, would you like me to help you?" He asks offering his help.

The though of someone insulting April makes him a bit mystified, "Gosh, why would anyone be silly enough to do that? I mean, you're like the nicest and most credible reporter out there. You don't have an agenda and you aren't a member of one of the big media conglomerates that slant the news the way they want!" He seems earnest about that.

April O'Neil has posed:
April looked down at her phone at Mikey's response and she quickly texted back <Of course I did.> she said, then took a moment to turn back to the counter and interrupt the transaction there to add that breadstick part to her upcoming order.

When she came back around to face Billy again she heard his words and gave him a big grin. "Well, aren't you a charmer?" She said with a clear level of flattery on her face. "Here, sure." She offered him the large pizza box. "Walk with me, huh?" She said then and started toward the exit.

April looked back at him while pushing the front door open, still smkiling. "My boss tells me that I'm still young and I'm going to be corrupted eventually. I tell her that the big news stations are going to be gone by the time I'm her age and all news will be online. She hates that." This put a grin on April's lips.

The reporter in the yellow leather jacket walked toward the Turtle van, trudging through the snow banks that had been shoveled off to the sides... no rollerskates, maybe in summer though!

Michelangelo has posed:
As April and Billy exit the pizza store and approach the Van, booming music will suddenly erupt from the phenomenally high quality music system that Donny installed. It is one of Seal's greatest masterpieces: 'Kiss From a Rose'. Naturally, Michelangelo didn't know that Billy was accompanying the gun young reporter.
As the song rumbles through the opening verse and begins to crescendo into the chorus, the main middle door of the van slides open. Mikey in all of his glory can be seen then, popping out of the door like a jack-in-the-box, arms up high singing loudly in his largely off-pitch voice. "BAAYYYBEEEEEEHHHH! I COMPARE YOU TO A KISS FROM A ROSSEEE ONNN THE GRAAVVEE!" Breath. "MORE I GET OF YOU STRANGER IT FEELLLS YYAEEEAAAHHHH!" With his blue eyes shut, probably because of the effort and gung-ho-ness he's putting into the song, he doesn't even know that Billy is there too!
Until, of course, he opens his eyes and spots him. "Oh." Beat "'Sup?" Hopefully he wouldn't freak out too much! Leaning back into the van, Michelangelo mutes the song with the press of a remote button. Leaning back, he jumps out of the van to reveal his full frame. He stands tall compared to humans. And heavy, too. "I didn't know you were bringing a friend, April. That's cool, that's cool."

Shazam has posed:
Billy blinks and says, "Holy moley! You're a talking turtle!" He really doesn't know what to think, the Wizard never told him he'd encounter anthropomorphic talking animals! He offers the pizza to Mikey and says a bit nervously, "Here's your pizza?"

April O'Neil has posed:
April, on the other hand, couldn't help but let a big smile grow on her lips when Mikey burst out of the van like the Kool-aid man and just sang that classic song. She liked that song, it was one of the ones on her playlist that was often playing inside of her apartment a couple blocks from here.

"Nice." She told Mikey after she and Billy showed up there to the side of the van. April's pale blue eyes looked at Billy when he offered the 'warm up' pizza to the turtle.

One of the things that April and Master Splinter disagreed on was hiding the Turtles from the world, she believed they should step out and embrace who they are in this wild world... But Splinter disagreed, and it wasn't uncommon for people to feel that mutants with physical altering mutations should hide, the entire Murlock population in the sewers would attest to that.

"The rest of your order is on the way, for the other guys too." She told Mikey. "This is Billy." She motioned to Batson. "He's in the News Bizz, just like me."

Michelangelo has posed:
"You know it dude. I'm a ninja, too. As well as an aspiring hip hop artist. General kicker of evil butt. The business card is getting long these days. Heh." Mikey snickers after his reply to Billy, before taking the 'warm up' pizza from the young reporter. "My man. Mucho gracias." Opening the lid, he takes a HUGE inhale of the thing, only to follow it with an equally long, satisfied sounding exhale. "Oh maaaan that is good. I dunno how Angelo does it. Seriously. He must have some sort of magic cheese or dough in there."
Putting the pizza into the van, the turtle takes a slice from it immediately and begins to chew it down. It's... well, a bit messy given the shape of his mouth, but done nonetheless. "Thanks April. Leo is gonna square you up with the coin, he said. Same bank deets, right? That hasn't changed? He'll just transfer it in."
"Oh yeah? Sweet." With one hand still wielding the half-eaten pizza, Mikey extends a fist with his other to 'dap' Billy in introductions. "You can call me Michelangelo. Or Mikey. Please call me Mikey. Only Dad calls me the full name." Omnomnom.
"Do you guys work in the same building or something? Or are you guys rivals?"

Shazam has posed:
Billy blinks and shakes his head and rubs his eyes and then once assured that it's not some illusion by one of his enemies, he then rolls with it. His smile returns and he says, "Hi Mikey! I'm Billy! Billy Batson, reporter for WHIZ Media, I'm nowhere NEAR Ms. O'Neil's level! I mean, she's my idol!" He's talking really fast and says, "Ohmygosh! I mean, when I saw her I was like, holy moley, it's April O'Neal! I just had to say hello and help her out with all the pizzas and it lead me here, to you! That's just swell!"

Billy continues on that vein for a bit, substituting 50's Leave It To Beaver expressions instead of potential swear words. He finally looks around and says, "Gosh, you guys should get the pizza to wherever you're going, it'll get cold!" Mikey's eating habits aren't remarked on and then suddenly, "OH MY GOSH! In all the excitement, I forgot MY PIZZA!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!" He turns and runs back inside, the scrawny teenager starving as he quickly digs into his pocket for enough pocket change to pay for his pizza.

April O'Neil has posed:
April's grin remained at Mikey's antics, he was one of the positive things in her life that really put her in a good mood. His positivity was radiant and it just sort've was infectious too! "The rest of the pies are being made. I can go check on them though. And yeah, I know Leo's got the cash. You guys have been killin' it on Youtube." April had her own channel also, it was her main-game over the tv stuff, since she fully believed tv was a dying medium... she really just did it for the public exposure. Getting her face out there more and subsequently raising her online followers.

"Yeah, we're rivals." She said, grinning at Billy now. "We have gang fights in the alleyways, with tridents and hand grenades." That was an Anchorman joke, obviously!

April then laughed a little at Billy. "I think I distracted you from even placing an order, Mister Batson. I'm sorry." She was humbled by his words about calling her his idol though. "Flattering me... shucks." She just grinned then and glanced over at Mikey.

"Do we need to stop by the video game store to get you guys any new games? Or have you just gone totally to downloading them now?"

Michelangelo has posed:
The turtle tilts his head at Billy as he rants and raves, a bemused smile appearing on his face as he darts back into the store. "Someone should tell him that they don't deliver down to the sewers! Heh. Oh, hey, you want some?" April is offered some of the 'warm up' pizza, as the turtle only now just remembers his manners.
"We are? Donny won't let me look at the stats!" Hearing that they are killing it on YouTube gives the turtle a big buzz, his smile widening. "There aren't many clear shots of us though, right? All the footage is grainy cause we're ultimate shadow dragon ninjas." His smile erupts into laughter at the hand grenades comment! "Niiiice. You know, watching that movie almost made ME want to become a journo! And then Leo told me that none of that actually happens."
"Na, we're all good babe. Digital for the WIIIIIIIN! Donny hooked up this huge hard-drive for us. It connects the Playstation too. It's rad. Dunno how he does it, but we can download everything super fast. You should come down some time. Oh! April! Did I tell you? I nearly got busted by the police the other night. I was up in Harlem playing some b-ball, but they found out I was a turtle. They called the Popo on my and everything."

April O'Neil has posed:
April just grins at her friend and then offered a wave to Billy as he ran inside to get his order. "Donny's doing those tech videos. Leo's got his Ninjutsu theories series and Raph's... ya know... true crime." She grinned softly. "You guys are going to overtake me in no time and I'll have to move down to the sewers with you."

She waved a hand at the offered pizza. "Nah. I gotta go to the gym tonight, so I'm going to grab a light meal when I get home."

At the bit about Harlem, April just winced. "You gotta be careful up there, Mikey. There's some bad stuff happening up in that place, gang wars and stuff. If you upset the wrong people, they'll get all... shooty shooty bang bang on your shell."

"Did the police see you?"

Michelangelo has posed:
"Raph never shuts up about it." Mikey whines about the respective YouTube channel, though his eyes do widen a little. "You should TOTALLY move in with us! Join the criiiibbb, girl! I got a spare pod right next to mine. We can stay up all night having slumber parties and all sortsa fun." Chewing on the pizza which was rejected by April (perhaps wisely given its fat content!), the turtle considers some.
"Naaa. There was a mutant up there called Rogue. She helped me get outta the area. And what do you mean, gang wars and stuff? It's the best place to play street ball! That's where all the best guys go. I STILL schooled them though. Heh heh." With a small victory laugh, he shrugs. "I didn't know about all the shooty stuff. You got your finger in the pie, April. What's going on up there?"
Climbing back into the van, the turtle adjusts some things inside. Perhaps making room for the extra pizzas that he will be transporting. "Maybe we should suss it out. Put the gangs in place!"

April O'Neil has posed:
April got into the van with him after he did, it was cold outside afterall. She sat down on the floor and brought her knees up to place her hands ontop of them. "Gang wars." She told him. "You know. Drugs, money, more drugs, stolen property... petty theft up to like the big time stuff. Shoot... I heard that they're even killing each other over BITCOINS these days." She shook her head softly side to side as she glanced out to the cold outside again. "But yeah, I imagine the basketball is pretty good. I heard there are tournaments up there in the spring. With even NBA pro league scouts checking for future talent."

She gave a grin to him then. "Glad you got some help from a nice person though... Though 'Rogue' is kind of a weird name. I'll have to snoop around about her, see if I can dig up any info on the girl."

That was April's 'thing' afterall, to get as much information on all the superhero stuff going on so that the world had a growing dossier on it all.

"I'll think about my future in the sewer though. At least Donny's got the internet part of it worked out. Lord knows we can't live without that in this day and age." She grinned at him then.

"I better go check on the order. Its probably ready by now."

Michelangelo has posed:
"Super high quality wifi, baby! Can't beat it." The turtle snickers as April departs to pick up the pies, before continuing the conversation when she returns. Assumably with pizzas in arms!
"She's part of the X-Men," Mikey confirms - closing the door once the final pizzas are in and placed securely in the van. It looks like there is a special compartment just for them! But it likely doubles as a compartment for other objects too. "They have fancy codenames. Her's is Rogue. She seemed nice."
"You wana ride?" He offers in a friendly tone, sliding into the drivers seat. "Where did you say you were going? To the gym, right? Which 'hood you signed up at?" As the engine turns on and begins to warm up in the cool, Mikey turns on the heat. Like April, he didn't do too well in the cold! Being cold-blooded sucked like that.
"Dude, I can't believe that they're shooting each other up over bitcoins! I mean, I dunno what bitcoins are really. But that seems all sorts of new level cray. I'll definitely have to watch out." Leaning back in the comfortable seat, he stretches out some. "Has that been your beat recently? Covering gang war stuff? Remember to hit us up when you find any crime stuff that the cops can't handle.

April O'Neil has posed:
April did indeed come back out with the full order in sacks and she put them into that fancy compartment inside the van. She'd gotten to the pizaria via a different van... Vernon's News Van and originally intended to walk home after giving Mikey the pizzas, but it was freezing out!

So once she was inside the passenger seat, she grinned over at him. "Vince's Gym down a few blocks. Ya know, it used to be a grocery store until like last summer? Its a nice place. Not as many meat heads." April laughed a little bit then and there.

"I'm always funneling stories and leads to Leonardo, but its my call-in show on Sunday nights... I get all kinds of whacky stories. LIke the other day, I got word of an alien spacecraft that had landed out in upstate New York and the aliens disembarked to the people that were outside? And started asking them for all of their 'Earth Music'. Saying that they came here--thousands of lightyears--for all our hot beats." She laughed again at that.

"I didn't give that story to Leo though. Not sure he'd care too much." And a little grin was shown. "There's gang stuff though, that I know you guys would love to look into. Casey too... but he and I aren't speaking to each other right now."

Michelangelo has posed:
"Hell yeah I know!" Mikey barks in response to the gym used to being a grocery store. "We got all sorts of frozen delights out there during the summer. And during the winter we used to get all these pizza pockets. Now that it's shut we gotta go a bit further out." Mikey grumps at that, putting his foot down on the accelerator and beginning the drive.
Despite his cowabunga attitude on a skateboard and daredevilish activities, Michelangelo is a reasonably safe driver! He keeps the van at cruising speed, perhaps keenly aware that he doesn't want to draw attention from anyone he doesn't have to. Or he's worried about black ice on the roads. "So long as you're getting swole though, April. That's all that matters. Heh heh. Well, maybe not too swole."
"Yo, seriously? That's awesome!" The tale about alien music no doubt fascinates him. "I mean, who can blame him? Our beats are legit. I wouldn't be surprised if we had the best in the whole damn Universe. Wait until they get a copy of my hiphop album. It'll be off the hooooook!" Mikey sticks his tongue out in excitement, beaming widely. "Leo's probably scared of aliens, so good call." The skin above his eye creases a bit, baby blue eyes glancing over to April as they cruise down the street.
"What's up with you and Casey?"

April O'Neil has posed:
April grinned at the bit about the grocery store. "I used to get ice cream there with my mom when I was a kid." She quietly said while watching the traffic in front of them. "And don't you worry about me getting too swole, I don't wanna turn into some kind of heavyweight. I just like keeping my stamina up, and its too darn cold to ride my bike..."

A laugh was released, a melodic sounding gesture from the reporter. "I absolutely love the idea of a flying saucer out there somewhere blasting your hiphop tunes, Mike."

A headshake and she just sighed. "Casey came over with dinner one night, a month or so ago... and this Cop was in my store, the antique store... not even close to the stairway up to my apartment. The Cop was just a local, he was checking in on me to make sure I was alright. Well, Casey lost his MIND over it. Started getting all overprotective and 'manboy' about it at the Cop. Like belong to him. So we had a big fight and I told him to get lost."

She shook her head. "I haven't seen him since."

Michelangelo has posed:
"Damn," Mikey winces at the story. "That bonehead. I swear, he and Raph are cut from the same loincloth." That isn't exactly the correct expression, but he doesn't appear to care! "I can hit Raph up to see if he's heard from Casey if you want? Otherwise I'm sure he'll come back eventually, with his tail between his legs probs." With the van now toasty warm and smelling of amazing pizza delights, the turtle pulls up to the curb of the gym. The turtle makes a good examination of the exterior, eyeing it up and down.
"First stop - Vince's Gym. Now remember April, we agreed. No heavyweight gains! I'm not sure how awesome it'd be if you got stronger than me. I mean, it'd probably be mega awesome, but you never know." He pauses, before growing a bit serious. "I'll definitely ask Raph about Casey though and let you know what he says. If he says anything. I haven't heard from him in ages. I hope he's not in trouble or anything." The green humanoid shrugs.

April O'Neil has posed:
April laughed at the part about the gym. "No no... I just an keeping myself from getting huge and gross." She grinned some more before pointing out the gym up ahead. "Casey's just hanging out with his greaseball friends that he works with from his autoshop. Actually, most of them are a step up from him." She grinned at Mikey. "I should date one of them. I bet that'd make him lose his damn mind, right?"

When they arrived, April took her seatbelt off, she leaned over and gave Mikey a peck on the cheek. "Enjoy your pizzas. Tell the other guys that I'll stop by tomorrow night, maybwe we can watch a movie or something!"

The reporter would move to get out of the van. "Don't eat yourself into a pizza coma, Mikey." She grin to him, then shut the door and offer a handwave before strutting off toward the gym where all the people in gym-y clothing were coming in and out of the front doors.

April O'Neil has posed:
This certainly was best described as a Nightmare, for certain. Lara hadn't fought things like this before, not quite like this... not inside her own flat, her own home. Once out in the hallway she moved beneath the flickering lights and toward the farthest space from her doorway. She saw the icing over of the only escape route she had and she turned back around to look at the... thing, coming after her.

"What do you want?" Lara said back at him. "I won't give you what you just tried to take." She told him, her eyes going right to left. There was a fire alarm behind a glass plate with a red fire-axe... She could smash it with her elbow... pull the alarm and defend herself with the axe!

Lara's right arm came up and her elbow cocked and prepared to slam into the glass pane!
