Good Morning
Date of Scene: 11 May 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Colossus, Shadowcat

Colossus has posed:
His steps are slow and careful in the light brown leather work boots, as he's coming down a hill. One wrong step and he could fall, so he must be careful. He makes his way through the bushes, walking in a zigzag pattern, taking his time, rather than moving with any kind of expediency. But despite his attention to detain, he moves at an impressive rate. It is as though the man has walked this path many times before. He's not even looking down. The sun was still low in the sky, as it was early morning, casting a bright silhouette behind him, backlighting him, if you prefer.

His neatly cut short black hair lit up against the sun, taking on a lighter hue as up close, you could practically see every strand in that light. He wore yellow safety gloves, one of which held a large piece of machinery. It was some kind of blue hand held chainsaw. It bore the markings 'Property of Xavier's School' one side, having been spray painted yellow with a stencil, as schools are so often to do.

He wore brown trousers with several pockets, though each and every one of them was closed, either by a zipper, or a button. Above that, he had a white undershirt with his arms exposed. Those arms were positively ripping with muscles. And it's no wonder, for the man had taken off his red flannel shirt, slung it over his left shoulder, and above that, he carried a tree. Yes, he was effortlessly carrying a tree that he had chopped down. It wasn't the whole of the tree, but instead a large segment, probably around five metres.

He made his way back to the Mansion, where there were four more segments of trees, each lined up, with an axe, a cutting stump, and a neatly stacked pile of fire wood.

Shadowcat has posed:
The weather here probably still borders on cool but Kitty's coming out wearing clothing more befitting warmer temperatures, that being a pair of old demin shorts that have the legs rolled up to mid-thigh along with a tee and tennis shoes, her hair pulled into a loose ponytail. Takes her a moment to see Piotr but when she does she can't help but to smile. Instead of calling out to him she walks over to where the towering man is, her hands eventually shoved into the shallow pockets of her shorts, those meant more for decoration than actual use.

"Hi, Piotr," she says to greet him once close enough, her tone as warm as her expression is. "Need any help?" As always, she is a little bashful when near the Russian, not unlike how she was when she was younger, and she is already blushing something fierce.

Colossus has posed:
The hulking Russian sets the caber down, which is really what it is, except that it's way too large for any sane person to throw. It makes a thud as it rests on the ground, pressing and flattening the grass underneath. He wipes his forehead and neck with the shirt that was over his shoulder, making it far more comfortable to walk. Without it, he would have probably had to go into his armoured metal form. But that's the thing about Piotr. He's a mountain of a man with, or without, his powers. It's that upbringing in Siberia. It forged him. He is like iron.

But Kitty, or Katya as he often referred to her, could melt his heart every time. He smiled to her, and then gave her his protective goggles. "Please, be careful Katya. I do not wish for you to be hurt." They were too big for her, but once she was wearing them, he went into steel form. He had to make a few cuts with the chainsaw. As he did, the sawdust went flying, but as he was in his organic steel form, instead of sticking to the sweat, they just harmlessly fell to the ground. When he had cut one of the logs into several smaller segments, small enough to be chopped into firewood, he reverted back to his normal self.

He set the chainsaw down on the grass, carefully away from both of them. He set one of the circular pieces of wood on the cutting stump and removed his work gloves, setting them down on top, next to the axe. He did not need any help, but instead of saying that, he instead went with, "your company is always appreciated. Would you like to try?" I she did, he would help her to make her first cut, going behind her, in a manner similar to a particular scene in the film Ghost.

Shadowcat has posed:
"You do remember that I can phase, yes?" Kitty's way of reminding Piotr that she doesn't necessarily need to take the same protective measures others might. But the eyegear is put on despite her reminder and Kitty watches, choosing a safe distance to stand. She has always taken some particular joy in watching him as he works, not only at times like this but when he's painting as well, there being a comfortable familiarity to it. A smile grows and she can not help but to laugh, risking getting a mouthful of sawdust when she does. Thankfully the worst she gets is a bit down her arms, clothes and legs which a brush off will take care of, later.

Piotr is given a glance and then the chainsaw is looked at, her brow furrowing. "Uh... yeah, sure." Not too sure if that's a good idea, considering it is dangerous and she can't phase and use the power tool at the sme time, it making her a little nervous. The nerves stop once he moves behind her, though, and soon she's putting the chainsaw to the wood.

Colossus has posed:
Piotr did not expect to use the chainsaw to 'chop' the wood into useable firewood, but instead of correcting her, he simply went with it. Kitty was not used to the outdoors as he was. She was also American. He found it to be cute. And besides, it required more of his help, or at least, he offered more help as there was a greater danger in using the chainsaw. He chose to remain in his human form for this. He did not like her to feel his organic steel form. It was cold and lifeless. He preferred her to feel him, his heart beat, and that it beat only for her.

He put his large hands around her, as he stood behind her. He steadied and took much of the weight of the chainsaw off of her. It took some creativity, but he had a secure grip, taking the weight, but allowed her to control it. "This is good. Now, make a careful cut through the centre."

Shadowcat has posed:
Only a few cuts are made before Kitty stops, this being something way out of her comfort zone, but while the chainsaw is turned off she stands there, not sure what to do, now. She doesn't want to keep Piotr from doing his work but, at the same time, his standing behind her like he is is nice. Comforting. How much time passes is anyone's guess but she eventually steps out of of the protective crook of his arms and makes room for him again, her face, a pale pink before, is now bright red. "Thank you," she murmur, unable to look him in the eyes, too bashful. Ugh. Why can't she outgrow that!?

Before he can return to his work she asks quickly, "I actually came out to see if you were hungry and would like to come inside and join me for lunch, take a break and all that." As she finally makes her offer she brushes off the small chips of wood and what she can of the smaller particles, causing a little cloud of dust to form around her like PigPen from The Peanuts.

Colossus has posed:
Piotr did not wish for her to leave him either. He, this thing with Illyana, had put a strain on things. He had said things, he regretted. He had lashed out. He was in pain. It was as if he had suffered post traumatic stress disorder, but where others usually developed over the course of a battle, or at least over a long incident. His was in a flash. For him, Illyana was gone for minutes, but for her, it was a decade or so. His Little Snowflake was not so little anymore. And it hurt him so deeply.

But this was nice. He finished off those cuts. It was not scheduled to rain, so he could technically leave the chainsaw out. But this was a school. And there was the axe to contend with. Thankfully, there was a small shed nearby, where he could lock them safely away. "Da, I would like that very much, Katya." He smiled to her, remembering so many good memories. She had grown into a beautiful young woman. Perhaps, she was old enough... should he ask one of the teachers? Perhaps Professor Xavier would know. Her father was in Illinois. How would he feel if Piotr showed up on his doorstep and asked to date his daughter? He pondered this, as he walked with her.
