A light mittagessen
Date of Scene: 18 March 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Nerina takes Sarah out for a big German lunch to celebrate the apache's return from her coma.
Cast of Characters: Nixe, Rainmaker

Nixe has posed:
Heidelberg at 1648 2nd Ave is a little slice of Alemannia crammed into a busy corner of Manhattan's Upper East Side. With a white facade and half-timber construction, even the restaurant's store front is starkly at odds with the brick and glass of its neighbors and its own second floor. Inside, the hearty scent of hot meat smacks the senses and a wood-and-glass partition divides a long and prosperous bar from wooden chairs and booth seating. The walls and ceiling are dark, earthy colors that accent the warm yellowish light overhead and cast playful shadows on rustic arms and heraldry hung on the walls. A blonde hostess smiles and curtsies as the pair enter, dressed in the similarly rustic Bavarian fashion of a drindle dress with a black apron and puffy white sleeves. "Guten tag! Welcome to Heidelberg. How many in your party?"
Nerina holds up the first two fingers of her hand. "Two please, in a booth," the nymph intones.

Grabbing a couple menus from behind her counter, the hostess nods and gestures around the bar partition as she leads inside. "Right this way."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah has been quite happy to let Neri lead the way...this is a bit farther afield than she often goes, simply because it's a trip, unless she flies. Which she tries to avoid still. She's getting less paranoid about it, but still likes to be cautious of being seen being, well, super. She looks around with interest as you walk in, tilting her head, her lips twitching slightly at the uniform, but follows along to seat herself in said booth as she looks around.

"You know, I've never actually been in a German restaurant. German beerhall for OKtoberfest, but well, that's not quite the same thing..."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina tucks herself in opposite the apache and scoots kitty-corner between the sidewall and padded back. "Oktoberfest here?" the nymph echoes in amusement. "When did that become a world holiday?"

Sliding over a pair of menus, the waitress waits until both are settled before asking, "May I start you two off with some drinks?"

The nymph nods to Sarah, letting her go first.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah says dryly. "Any holiday that involves drinking ends up everywhere, seems like. Look at Cinco de Mayo, I doubt the majority of people celebrating it actually know what it's about." She ponders, then says. "Whatever the house beer is, maybe? For a start at least."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina slips in a short, "Sprudel," as the waitress nods and turns to her before departing to the back.

"If you like beer, I hope you like choices too," the nymph notes as she opens her menu and flips past pages of sausage, platters, entrees, and specials to reach the multiple pages devoted to coffee-beers, schnapps, import beers, wheat beers, and more besides. The well-stocked bar it seems is not just for show.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah grins a bit. "I don't usually do the craft beer thing, but I do like trying new stuff occasionally." she admits, picking up the menu to flick through it curiously. "So...you know German food...what might be good? I know strudel and bratwurst and that's about it...oh, and saurkraut."

Nixe has posed:
"I know un po," Nerina corrects lightly as she flips back to the food pages. "For one day let's ignore price and just eat good food to celebrate, vero? Gebackener camembert is a good appetizer. That is baked cheese with sauce. More like a street food are potato cakes, kartoffelpuffer," the nymph explains as she points at the menu while navigating her Italian tongue through the German compound words with apparent comfort.

Rainmaker has posed:
"Mmm. Sure." Sarah says curiously. "Sounds like a tasty start." she admits. "What else? I only know very Americanized stuff." She pauses. "Or stuff from Looney Tunes. So hassenphefer." She pronounces it...poorly. German is not her language!

Nixe has posed:
Nerina quirks one brow high at the attempted German, then glances back at the menu. "I don't see that animal here. There are hot and cold meats, lots of sausage and cheese, sandwiches, cow..."
"We could order sauerbraten and bratwurst, and share them?" the nymph suggests.

Rainmaker has posed:
"I'm pretty sure it's a rabbit dish, so they probably don't have it here." Sarah admits. Or at least, she assumes that since Bugs Bunny was trying to avoid being cooked in the cartoon it is. "Hmm, sure? Something hot sounds good." she agrees thoughfully, letting Neri take charge somewhat since she knows a bit more about it."

Nixe has posed:
"Little animal, fast with big ears?" Nerina guesses as she mimes the rabbit's trademark hearing with her hands. "Hase, o coniglio. What is it in apache?"

Rainmaker has posed:
"Ga, or ga'chu, for rabbit or jackrabbit, respectively." Sarah confirms. "I guess hasen is rabbit, or hase, maybe, for your language?" she says curiously. "How many languages do you speak, anyway?"

Nixe has posed:
"Ga," Nerina repeats pensively before pulling a small notebook from her coat and scribbling in it. "Coniglio in Italiano," she corrects while writing. "Hase and Hasen are German."    "Two? I know some German food words, maybe a food word in Chinese... and Spanish," the blonde growls, glancing aside in a moment of vitriol for the other tongue.

"<I try learn Ndee',>" the nymph adds in a very rough attempt at Western Apache.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah's eyes widen in suprise at that, then grins a bit. "Well damn, how am I going to talk about you without you knowing now?" she says with a laugh. "If you want, I'd be happy to teach you though. It's a bit of a different language to learn than European based ones."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina smiles curtly. "That is almost all I know - and how to count to ten. I would like that; languages are fun."

Returning to the table, the waitress sets down two drinks and looks between the pair. "Are we ready to order?"

The blond nymph glances at Sarah then turns to the waitress with a sly smile. "Ja. Ein Gebackener Camembert zum Starten, Sauerbraten und die Wurst Fruhschoppen - Krainer Marke. Zwei Teller bitte," Nerina shows a 'two' again with her fingers, "um zu teilen."
    "Veilen Dank."

Rainmaker has posed:
The Amerindian watches to see if the waitress actually followed that...just because it's a German restaurant doesn't mean staff will speak it, after all. But she nods. "Thank you." she adds in English, smiling faintly.

Nixe has posed:
It's not always true but Nerina seems to have guessed right tonight as after a moment of surprise, the waitress scribbles into her notepad before nodding with a pleasant "Jetzt sofort" to Nerina and offering a silent nod to Sarah before turning back for the kitchen.

The blue-coated waif in the corner of her bench smiles quietly with a little embarrassment brightening the corners of her lips. "Do you think she's real German?"

Rainmaker has posed:
"It's possible. It's New York, all sorts of people from all over the world end up here." the Apache woman notes, picking up her beer to sip from it curiously, then licking her lips. "Mmm. Pretty good stuff..." She smiles a bit. "I kind of wish I was born in Europe sometimes just because I'd have a good reason to pick up lot sof languages."

Nixe has posed:
"Like us?" Nerina responds slyly to the mention of immigrants as sips her own clear and fizzy glass . 'Sprudel' seems to be a seltzer or clear soda.
"I've never been to Europe but it sounds nice," the naiad considers wistfully as she lets her eyes run along the wall at the various bits of Germanic memorabilia on display. "More rights, less crazy people, less mutants. People are too febbrile here - too febrile."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah smirks a bit and points out. "My people were here first, remember? But yes. Mostly immigrants." She sips from her beer again, leaning forwards slightly. "Really?" she says, sounding suprised. "I thought that's where you were from?"

Nixe has posed:
Nerina freezes as Sarah's words register and the young Italian sighs heavily as she bows her head and bites her thumb in frustration. It's several seconds before the waif reopens her eyes and looks up again, discretely tucking her thumb in the shadow of her hand so the shallow bite mark can heal. She smiles in a slight but cheery way that's just a little too bright to seem real on the naturally dour young woman's face.
"Si, I am from Sicilia, but Germany e the mainland of Europe I don't know."

Rainmaker has posed:
From her expression, Sarah is not convinced, necessarily, but she lets it rest. "Oh, sure. Makes sense." she says, letting you have your out for now as she leans back. "Island life mostly?"

Nixe has posed:
"Coast life," Nerina nods as a momentary sharpness passes across her eyes at Sarah's veiled scepticism. But as the apache lets her, she continues. "Lots of seafood and salt air. Being... me," the water mutant pauses to dance around more explicit words in public company, "made it molto ironico."

Rainmaker has posed:
"I'd think it'd make you comfortable, at least. And...well, mythologically speaking, it is a natural habitat." Sarah says amusedly. "Very different from wher eI grew up though. Not a lot of water around there except the Rio Grande."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina nods more at ease as she reveals, "That is my name; 'Nerina' di 'Neros' o 'neriads'. In English, nymph. Fate is cruel, but maybe it is present."
Furrowing her brow, the Italian blonde guesses at Sarah's own origin. "Rio Grande in Mexico? I thought you were from America?"

Rainmaker has posed:
"The Rio goes up a ways beyond Mexico." Sarah says with a smile. "Past Texas and into New Mexico, it's the major waterway there. The Rio Grande valley is where 90 percent of the people in the area settle because of that, since it's the best way to get water." She tilts her head. "I suppose Rainmaker is sort of ironic as a surname considering that."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina listens along to the geography lesson and asks, perhaps to check her comprehension, "Do you have much rain or is water all from the river?"

Rainmaker has posed:
"Mmm, it depends. Years back, we had little monsoons every so often in the spring. Really strong heavy rain." Sarah says. "But there's been a drought for years since then, so rainfall is pretty rare honestly." She smiles. "I used to try and fix that for my reservation when I could, though I had to try and not be too obvious."

Nixe has posed:
The young Italian sips more of her drink and smiles slightly at Sarah's story. "Monsoons, those are like wind from an uragano or ciclone?"

Rainmaker has posed:
"I'm....not sure? STorms with lots of rain, almost vertical sheets of water. They didn't last too long, maybe fifteen to thirty minutes, but they were pretty impressive when they happened." Sarah says with a smile. "But most of it came from the river, the water that is."

Nixe has posed:
"Different then. In uregani, the rain is sideways. Very strong wind," Nerina explains, gesturing with her hand.

Stepping past the adjacent booth with three plates in hand, the waitress returns and gently leans herself into the table area. Small, empty plates are set before Nerina and Sarah both while an appetizer plate is set in the middle holding two breaded cheese wheels with jam and dipping sauces to one side. "Sorry for the wait. Here you go, and your entrees should be out soon," the blonde woman intrudes briefly before stepping away again - quick in and out.

Rainmaker has posed:
"Not that bad, no." Sarah cofirms, then leans back as the food arrives, looking it over with interest. "Ooh..this does look good..." she says, reaching out to snag one of the cheese pieces to dip and munch on. "Mmmmm..."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina is only slightly slower to do the same, pinching the second wheel between her slender fingers and taking a small nibble of one side. The breaded cheese is warm and crunchy on the outside but sweet, gooey camemberts on the inside. The savory fried onions and tangy cranberries left on the plate offer an obvious compliment; a savory and palate-warming appetizer.

Using a side she hasn't bitten yet, Nerina scoops a hearty portion of onion onto her own wheel for a second bite.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah mmmmmms louder at the second bite, the taste really hitting her, before she tries some of the onion as well. "Oh, this is great...it's wonderful to have good warm cheese like this..." she says cheerfully."

Nixe has posed:
"Even nicer in cold weather," Nerina agrees with a quiet smile and a little shiver as the flavor spreads over her tongue. Grabbing her drink to wash it down, the nymph lets out a small sigh before going for more, and not neglecting the cranberry sauce for long.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah...watches you for a moment, her lips curving up slightly as you dig into the food with those happy little sounds and shivers, before she nibbles at her cheese. Taking simple enjoyment in vicariously watching you enjoy the food so much.

Nixe has posed:
Not seeming to notice the attention, Nerina's off in a little field of fried cheese bliss. Then again this may be the slender flautist's first true meal in most of a day. Half the toppings are respectfully left for Sarah's own use but the apache's slower pace doesn't seem to stop the nymph from enjoying each bite with noticeably more relish and speed than she ever expended for Sarah's home cooking.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah can't help it, she just...kind of enjoys it. It makes her happy on some level just to see Neri happy. When she realizes she's doing it she flushes faintly then dips her own cheese, focusing on tasting more of it as it rapidly disappears, amid occasional sip sof beer.

Nixe has posed:
There's not too much more to watch one way or the other as Nerina's cheese wheel is not long for the world. While not large or substantial, the tasty treat seems to do its job well as the young Italian rests her shoulder with heavy contentment against the booth's side wall and lets out a low, long breath. Despite its presence, the large, padded back of her booth is still largely ignored, or at best given one shoulder to support. The blonde nymph remains barricaded in her corner as she stretches her legs out underneath the table.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah can't help but smile at that, her eye stwinkling as she notes. "If you really like it, you can help me finish off mine too?" She picks up a piece, then scoops up some onions and holds it out...curious if you'll let her feed you more directly, for once.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina's awareness of the present seems to come back to her at Sarah's offer as the nymph's cool blue eyes snap back up and she waves the onions away with a slender hand. "Eat," she lightly insists. "You need this more than me today."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah hmmmmmms. "Maybe I need you to enjoy it some more instead." she points out, opting for directness. "And there will be plenty with the main course, I'm sure...." She smiles. "C'mon...save a girl some calories..."

Nixe has posed:
The naiad's blonde brow furrows again in light confusion as she turns that over a few times in her head. "When did me eating become a spettatore sport?" she asks with just a touch of awkward stiffness in her expression as she gestures again. "Go, eat. Like you say, there will be plenty more soon."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah hides her disappointment as she sights and munches it down herself, swallowing, before washing it down with another swig of beer. "You were just obviously enjoying it." she points out with a smile.

Nixe has posed:
"I haven't had food like this in a long time," Nerina defends, glancing aside to shed a little embarrassment and keep color away from her cheeks. "It's too expensive to cook for myself..."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah hmmms at that, picking up the of her cheese and dipping it before it vanishes as well. "I could try to learn to make this, if you'd like." she says thoughfully. "I haven't really tried German foods before."

Nixe has posed:
"Molto costoso, worry about having money first," Nerina dismisses with a wave of her hand. "We can have simpler food first."

Rainmaker has posed:
"What's money good for if it doesn't make you comfortably and happy?" Sarah says simply. "We can still make it for a special occasion or something."

Nixe has posed:
The Italian blond thinks for a moment, then nods as she concedes the point. "Better to have enough first that one nice day does not make us hungry after it."

The smell of hot gravy and beef waft across the booth shortly before the waitress returns carrying a new set of plates. Spotting her first, Nerina slides their appetizer plate to one side and lifts her head to clue in the apache opposite. Smiling politely at the pair, the blonde server squeezes into the middle of the table again and sets down a hot, steaming plate of beef round covered in a dark gravy and flanked by large balls of lightly fried potato dumplings and cabbage. Down beside it goes a second plate of only slightly cooler fair; hot white sausages beside a mustard dipping sauce, with potato salad and sauerkraut. Two more empty plates are added to complete the set, one each for Sarah and Nerina.

"Enjoy your meal," the hostess wishes kindly as she scoops up the used eating trays from the appetizer course and departs again.

Rainmaker has posed:
The Amerindian woman pauses to just inhale the wonderful scents as the food arrives, then helps to push the dipping sauces and plates over for the waitress to easily get at as she watches everything be set out. "Wow...I don't know where to start..." she murmurs, then reache sout to snag the potato dupmling first. She know swhat THAT is, at least.

Nixe has posed:
Now it's Nerina's turn to grin quietly as she snags one of the sausages and dips it in the dark yellow mustard nearby while holding her sea-blue eyes on Sarah. "Anywhere," she chuckles.

Baked just enough to have a firm crust on the outside and seasoned lightly with herbs, the potato dumpling is a warm, starchy palate cleanser and opener, with just a little of the rich gravy from the beef clinging to its underside.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah mmms, then swallows and turns to the sausages. "These are bratwurst?" she says curiously, snapping one in half to sniff at it curiously, before dipping it herself. "A bit different than I'm used to...then again I guess that's all mass produced stuff..."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina's answer is delayed as her tongue siezes control once again from the rest of the naiad's body. The sausage's casing makes a pleasant crackling pop as it's shredded from biting and its savory interior blends with the tangy mustard dipping sauce.
After releasing another little breath she didn't realize she was holding, the nymph replies, "These are Krainer sausages. There are many kinds of sausage, and many kinds of bratwurst sausage."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah hmms, then takes a good sized bite, chewing and mmming, before she swallows. "It's good! Just different...what's a Krainer sausage?" she wonders curiously. "It's got different innards, I'm guessing? Another bite as she chews, savoring the taste this time.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina nods. "Different sausages have different insides. Krainer is... pig I think? Maybe pig with cow." Biting her way through a larger portion of her own sausage, the nymph sets the food down while she chews and scoops some of the sides onto her plate.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah nods thoughfully. "So a mix of meats? That's neat...Krainer." She'll remember that for the future, it's certainly tasty enough! She pops the rest of the sausage past her lips, chewing and swallowing, then pausing to wash it down again. "This is really good..." she admits, flushing. "I can't remember the last time I had a really nice meal like this with someone to share it with, honestly."

Nixe has posed:
Another petite smiles spreads across Nerina's lips as she glances down at her food and takes a few bites of cabbage. At first cheerful, a forlorn shadow falls across the nymph's eyes as she's given more time to think and the smile has to fight to stay up, gaining the trappings of a forced expression.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah glances over and notices after a moment, slowing, as she snags another potato bit. "....what is it?" she asks softly, a faint hint of concern in her voice. She's not sure what's bothering the other woman, but obviously something is.

Nixe has posed:
The same sweet, not-quite-right smile from before greets Sarah anew as the nymph looks back up and banishes the shadow from her expression. "Nothing," she dismisses. "Go back to your food." Another bite of cabbage is scooped into her own mouth to underscore the point.

Rainmaker has posed:
SArah twitches her lips. "Liar." she murmurs, without much heat. She pops the potato piece in her mouth, chewing as she watches Nerina for a moment. She seems content to let the nymph claim the cabbage, it apparently isn't her favorite vegetable, though she does snag another sausage, breaking it into pieces to dip. "You made a good choice for food."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina snorts softly and turns her head. "E in verita maybe I am..." she grumbles under her breath.
"Thank you," the blonde replies at full volume, snapping back to at least the appearance of politeness as she grabs a piece of beef. "It is hard to choose wrong here."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah lets it lie, again. Mostly because she isn't sure what pushing would do, or if it would make Nerina uncomfortable to follow. So she just nods and smiles softly as she munches on the sausage. "I don't usually eat a lot of sausage..." she says, trying to keep her lips from twitching up.

Nixe has posed:
"I like sausage but it can be expensive," Nerina replies, helping to steer the conversation back to comfortable ground - though it's hard to tell through her cool blue eyes whether the innuendo was lost on her or not as another meaty piece of mustard-licked pork is torn in half by her teeth. A little dab of yellow sauce is left on the naiad's lower lip, though she doesn't immediately seem to notice.

Rainmaker has posed:
"If it's the really high end sausage, I suppose, but I don't go to that side of town often." Sarah says, her eyes twinkling now as she watches the little daub. Must...touch....no. Can't do that...but... "Um, you have a little...ah..." she says, leaning forward.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina's brow lifts in surprise as she cocks her head, looking somewhat like a blonde-haired crow wedged in the corner of the booth. "Hmm?" she vocalizes before swallowing the sausage.

Rainmaker has posed:
Oh, she should not, but...damn is it just adorable, especially that clueless suprised look. Before she can talk herself out of it, Sarah leans over then her thumb lightly brushes off the gob of mustard before she leans back. "You had some on your cheek." she points out. Virtuously. Then pops her finger in her mouth, which may spoil the effect as she licks it off.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina's brow furrows as Sarah's thumb brushes along her lower lip, then she blinks as realization dawns when she sees the smear of yellow that comes away. The naiad laughs and bows her head to hide a little color. "You know there is plenty for you too," she notes, eyeing the sauce still on the plate.

Rainmaker has posed:
"That one tasted especially good for some reason." Sarah points out innocently, before dipping her sausage in the plenty that is left and popping the last of it past her lips to chew. A slightly self-satisfied expression is on her face, like a cat that just got the canary.

Nixe has posed:
A bare foot kicks lightly against Sarah's shin as the blonde flautist shakes her head. "Duesetti we are in a public restaurant," she admonishes with a little disbelief at the apache's brazenness, but not enough that it stops her from continuing to eat.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah's eyes twinkle. "No one was looking." she points out, wincing at the kick but not looking the least bit repentant for it as she selects another fried potato to nibble on. "It's not like I scooted over and, mmm, licked it off." she points out, with perhaps a bit more relish at the thought than usual. She's definitely in a mood now.

Nixe has posed:
"You know, in German they call you 'lesbisch'," Nerina notes before filling her mouth with beef and gravy, with a predictable amount of the latter running down her chin. This time the blonde's tongue darts out and licks it up herself as her watchful eyes stay on Sarah.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah's eyes do flick to the lick slightly. Just a bit. "What do they call you in German?" she wonders, resting her chin on her hand as she peers across the table, her lips curves up in a faint smile.

Nixe has posed:
"Me?" Nerina echoes with a quirk of her brow. She thinks for a few moments, then gives a dismissive shrug and dryly lists, "Obdachlos, Dieb, Verwerfen..."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah picks up on the dryness, if not the meanings. "I'm guessing those aren't the complimentary words." she notes, popping the rest of the potatoe past her lips to chew, then swallow. "It's just funny, you keep using that word like I'm some sort of mythological creature." she teases.

Nixe has posed:
The naiad's expression flattens as she looks across the table at Sarah with her eyes lightly shadowed by the overhead light cast across her brow. "There aren't many compliments for people like me," she deadpans before looking back down at her food and taking another bite. It's several seconds before she adds, off-handedly, "You are very open about it, Duesetti."

Rainmaker has posed:
"Maybe you need to know better people then." Sarah says simply, then shifts a bit as it's turned back on her. She picks up one of the sausages, snapping it in half, then dipping it idly. "I wasn't, you know. Obvious about it. I mean...when do you think I figured out that I prefered girls?" she wonders curiously, glancing at the other woman.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina's shoulders shift in a minor shrug as she turns to eating more than talking. "Before you saw me naked, I hope."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah widens her eyes, then grins big. "Are you saying you're beautiful enough nude to turn a straight woman lesbian, Nerina?" she asks with a playful purr now. She can't help herself, for some reason she feels like poking her a little bit.

Nixe has posed:
The blonde naiad scoffs and whips her head to the side, flinging one of her braids partway out of her coat. "Bah! If you think that you need glasses. What's beautiful about a tiny walking skeleton unless you're a dog looking for a bone?"

Rainmaker has posed:
"If you'd said bury instead of looking that would have been a perfect innendo." Sarah says with a grin, resting her chin on her hand again, then turns more serious. "True, you're still underweight. But you're hardly a skeleton anymore. You're looking much heathier now. But." she points out. "You were still striking the first time I met you. So don't undervalue yourself there. I remembered you. It's more than just looks, but..." She waves her hand around slightly. "...spirit." she finishes after a moment of thought.

Nixe has posed:
"Striking for what? The eyes that said I would kill you if you were between me and a warm meal?" Nerina rebuffs coldly. "If those are 'dogs' then I've had dog meat; diced it up and boiled it with onions," the nymph derides as she grabs her table knife and twirls it dexterously between her fingers. "It was better than eating nothing at least... some nights I even looked forward to that," she confesses with a sardonic smile.
"Hmph, 'spirit' is one thing I have if I want it or not," Nerina grudgingly admits as she lifts her other hand and slides the knife edge along it, opening a long cut in her palm before sticking the wound into her mouth.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah is about to say something else, perhaps, but then she jerks at the smooth slice. 'Neri!" she says sharply, worriedly as she sees the cut. "What are you doing?!?" she hisses, more softly.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina looks back up with a dully raised brow as if all she'd done was taken another bite of cabbage. After a few seconds of sucking on her wound, the nymph lowers her hand and pulls in a small fleck of blood from her lips with a swift dart of her tongue. Already the injury is bleeding steadily as a red trail begins to roll down the young blonde's hand.
"Nothing important," she dismisses with a familiar answer as her eyes flit to the rest of the restaurant. "I'm only licking sauce from my hand if you can keep quiet."

Rainmaker has posed:
And like that, the mood is broken, as Sarah frowns, falling silent as she sets the sausage she's been working on down again, settling back in the booth on her side. "As you say." she murmurs quietly.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina moves her bleeding hand back to her mouth and laps away the excess blood before closing her lips once more around the source. She looks up to the apache at first with cool indifference... but then a mote of pity worms its way in just before the naiad diverts her eyes once more.
When she takes her hand away the second time, it's wet with nothing but saliva - the damp skin whole and unmarred.

Rainmaker has posed:
And then...uncomfortable silence! As Sarah drains what's left of her beer and flags down the waitress for another. No. Dos beers. This seems like a three beer meal!

Nixe has posed:
Nerina for her part returns to her own meal and lifts a hand to request a refill of her own. Once the waitress has departed again, she glances up between bites of cabbage and snarks, "You still think there are compliments for my spirit?"

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah pauses, her eyes regarding you directly. "...yes, because you haven't killed yourself yet, despite all that's happened to you." she says, very solemnly. "But every time I see you cut yourself...." She sighs. "...never mind. There's noting wrong with your spirit."

Nixe has posed:
Nerina chews through another bite, choosing not to rush the conversation. Once she's finished and swallows another bite, the nymph's lips curl downwards in a light frown.
"Liar," she tosses back. "Every time you see it what?"

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah twitches her nose. "...I volunteer with suicidal people. To talk to them." she says after a moment. "One of the warning signs that someone is going from thinking to maybe doing is when they start cutting themselves for comfort." She nods as her new beers arrive and promptly knocks one back, taking a long series of swigs before she sets it down. "So, everytime I see it with you, that's the first thing I think of."

Nixe has posed:
"Forget it, then," Nerina advises. "If I cut myself or not, I will still outlive you. I told you I have spirit even if I don't want it."

Rainmaker has posed:
"Oddly enough, I don't want to die. Or have to hurt yourself constantly, but if it lets you live, then....I'll have to live with it too." Sarah answers after a moment.%

Nixe has posed:
Nerina nods solemnly. "Good. The best to do is ignore it."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah actually rolls her eyes at that, folding her arms. "Yes, if only I could stop caring." she says dryly."

Nixe has posed:
"Watch more people die," Nerina suggests unhelpfully as she swallows the last of the sauerkraut and washes it down with more seltzer.
    "It's easier than you think."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah flinches a bit, a brief flicker of hurt crossing her face as she stiffens a little. "...go ahead and finish mine, I'm full." she says finally, pushing her plate and the remaining sausage on it over.

Nixe has posed:
Nerina looks over at the offered food, then slowly up at Sarah, mustering a small, apologetic grin. "No you're not. Have the red cabbage. You'll feel better."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah wrinkles her nose and with all the grace of a eight year old responds with. "I don't like cabbage. It's fine."

Nixe has posed:
The sheer bluntness earns an honest laugh from Nerina and the naiad nods in acceptance. "Okay, okay. We'll take the rest home, then."
"Would you like dessert?" the young blonde goads slyly.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah hesistates. "...what kind of deserts do they have, German Chocolate cake?" she questions. Having no idea that it is not in anyway German. But named after the baking chocolate.

Nixe has posed:
"Strudel, ice cream, and berries are normal," Nerina notes. "I think they have cake too."

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah ponders. "Well...I've not had actual German strudel before...so....okay...maybe we can split something?"

Nixe has posed:
"Appelstrudel, then," Nerina affirms, seeming fine with the dish as well. Turning to the restaurant, she raises a hand to flag their waitress for another order.
