Synopsis: Janet confers with Tony about clues on the person trying to murder her.
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Wasp (van Dyne)

Iron Man has posed:
There's some noise in the basement of the mansion. All of Tuesday really. Like someone is drilling or ripping the walls out. Any questions about it to the house staff get the response that Tony's renovating. Of course.

There's machinery, a large robotic digger thing present in the basement hallway, that is combining an old storage room to the prior laboratory. And Tony is currently able to be found there, dressed way down in now-dirty clothing, protective glasses, climbing through the partially ripped open wall with a gauntlet outfitted with a welder, and part of a metal shield across that same arm. Music rolls out of the basement as well, disruptively so.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
In the days since the last attempt on her life, Janet has moved out of Dane's castle and back into the Avenger's Mansion. Part of the reason is that Dane is still recovering in the Infirmary, but another part is that the Mansion is in the same part of town as her apartment.

It gives the guise of a return to normalcy, at least. And no one in their right mind would assault the Avengers Mansion, right?

It's fairly easy to find Tony, especially when he's working on one of his... projects. Janet is wearing jeans and a sweatshirt as she heads down to the basement. Stepping off the elevator, she peeks first and then calls out loudly. "Permission to enter the demolition zone?"

Iron Man has posed:
The robot flashes a light at Tony when the elevator started to move at all, as he wasn't looking, he was turned away, and he pivots around to look over to Janet. He waves a hand to the robot to stop the current pounding it was up to, and pulls off a headset, letting it loosely drape around his neck. Ear protection for being so close to the loud sound. He realizes the music is still going too, but only reduces it by a few percent, and approaches. He didn't hear her question, obviously.

"Janet," Tony greets, pleasant. He's got a fine spray of dust over most of him: that brown shirt probably was black that morning. "I missed that, run that by me again?" Tony asks, as he gets closer.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet steps out of the elevator once all the noise stops and the debris begins to settle. "It wasn't important." she replies, picking her way carefully along the floor. "Do I even dare ask what you're...?" she begins, then she holds up both palms and shakes her head.

"Nevermind. It's probably best I don't know. But I'm curious whether you have any results from your surveillance."

In the interim, Janet has continued to go into the office. She just hasn't been working her usual, long hours. And she still rides to work on Strider as well. Other than that, everything is back to normal.

Iron Man has posed:
"I do, actually," Tony says, after a sleek grin into her question about what he's doing. "So you didn't you need a private spa down here? I'll put in something else, then," Tony says offhandedly, and pats himself down briefly with a cough.

"I also have a lawyer team prepped for you, should you need it, but I expect you might have your own. Even so, I know the best," Tony says without a shred of humility. "Let me show you what I've got. Come out to the front lab, I don't want to track this into medical," Tony invites. He directs another order towards the robot as he walks towards the lab, "Standby."

Tony leads directly into the lab. there's an isolation wall temporarily set up, to keep half of it out of the construction zone's warpath. He'll lead her to some monitors and consoles, though he detours to wash his hands, and then use a console. "Have you been safe otherwise?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet sidles closer, hands clasped behind her back as she carefully side-steps something. "A private spa or an olympic-sized pool?" she asks wryly. "As for lawyer teams, I believe you stole at least two of yours from me."

Walking alongside him rather than following, the petite woman keeps up quite well. Even in heels. "Safe otherwise? Well let's see now... I ride a supersonic, bullet-proof, winged horse to work every day. Oh, and I'm rooming with some of the most brilliant and dangerous people on the planet." Here Janet pauses to smile sweetly up at Tony. "I mean Bruce, so don't let that go to your head."

Janet pauses while he washes his hands, clasping her own behind her back once more as she rises up onto her toes, only to rock back on her heels. And for all her verbal jabs, it's not Banner that she came to for surveillance.

Iron Man has posed:
"/Stole/ is such a harsh word. And it might be three," Tony replies to her with a flash of a wink. "I'm dangerous in my own way. I'm glad it isn't rage-monster in type, so no arguments there." He chuckles into her sweet look. He didn't bother with the 'brilliant' jab. He knows he is, so there's no need to answer to that part.

"Okay, let's get to the highlights. I can also do slow motion and other effects, but I'll let you get a scope of this before I narrate," Tony says, setting up the surveillance to go ahead and play the tagged sections on the monitor, while he wanders to one of the unblocked lab refridgerators. He'd put some simple beers in there, and returns with two, setting one on the countertop near her if she wants it, though he isn't paying full attention to the video footage. He's seen it.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet's sweet gaze doesn't waver, and the smile widens. "I think I can manage without the 3-D enhancements, thank you." Scooting up to sit on the edge of the table, she watches the playback and accepts one of the beers without looking away.

The surveillance shows that Heather has been a very busy girl. Researching. Researching subjects that are certainly outside of the fashion industry. Doctor Pym's work, but Janet herself has also been a feature. And Heather has been arriving early every morning, to systematically and carefully ransack Janet's office.

Throughout it all, Janet sips her beer and watches quietly.

Iron Man has posed:
So, Tony can't actually keep his mouth shut. He was doing well for a few minutes there to let her get through a pretty good amount of it. "I've got some good shots of various things she took with her, and a full list of various contacts and conversations she had, if you want the audio. So there's about three various angles you can use to pin her to the wall, depending on how you want to go about it," Tony supplies with a bright smile. He's quite pleased to be able to furnish what she wanted.
"I haven't done anything with any of this yet. But glad to be a witness if you like," Tony teases. He's a monster on the witness stand. In a good way, his influence can be used like a courtroom battleaxe, and has shown that mettle on more than one occasion.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne scoots back more fully onto the table, crossing one leg over the other. She takes another pull from her beer, leaning back on her free hand. "Well I think this certainly establishes motive. Is there any evidence linking her to the drones or that sweet little temp? We both know that motive alone won't sail in court."

She smiles again, brown eyes brightening. "Then again, Heather doesn't -know- what we have and what we don't have." Janet takes a long swig of her beer then, hopping off the table. "I'd like to borrow this and go through it in closer detail. I think we might have an angle after all..."

Iron Man has posed:
"Sure," Tony answers. "You can grab it off any of the consoles here, or upstairs. It's under your name in our system. The audio of the calls and so on is there too; I had one of my AI pick through it and flag ones that are more interesting," Tony explains.

With a stretch, he starts to shut down the console they were using, though, and distractedly looks back towards his project. He mostly had his attention on the current thing he was doing, of course, but still, was clearly fine to tangent to give her a hand. "So I think the phone had some. Give a listen through it, see what you think. Pretty sure there was some email. If you need help, I'll throw one of our rookies your way," Tony grins. "It's your show," he winks at her. "I'm just here to ...produce." A grin.
