A Mysterious Meeting!
Date of Scene: 07 July 2018
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Echo, Taskmaster

Echo has posed:
The shadowy Echo stands on the lonely subway platform as some of the florescent lights flicker overhead. It is a dark in New York, still night, and it is really humid in the city. A small, suspicious breeze makes her turn her head and she is standing next to them, so she peeks out to have a look down at the stairwell and the rest of the platform. She then looks down at the empty track and seems to be waiting for someone or something. She narrows her eyes at the fluttering shadows and the night makes the subway platform seem eerie and lonely. No one is waiting for the subway and no one is walking down the isolated concrete steps as far as she can tell, but Echo is sure to know even though she can't hear a thing, because she puts her hand on the wall to be sure and feels for the vibrations coming from the stairs and if anything is on the track. She drags her fingers slowly down the faded, green paint, idly wondering if this bland and unkempt wall represents socity. She keeps her hand on the concrete wall and makes sure to contemplate this answer, and other questions about other things that keep her busy. She's always on guard waiting for that twitch to cascade over her hand. She almost wants it to happen, needs it to happen.

Taskmaster has posed:
When approaching the agreed upon location Taskmaster moves as quietly as a heavily armed man in cape can. He moves through one of the subway tunnels to the meeting place, shield on his arm, sword and pistol on his hips and bow and quiver on his back.

As Taskmaster arrives at the station he nimbly hops from the walkway to the platform, letting his flowing cape billow behind him when he rises back to his full height as he turns his head from side to side to take in his surroundings, making sure that he's not missing anything important before he gaze settles upon the woman he was sent here to meet.

Taskmaster inclines his head towards the person his contact told him about as he approaches. When he gets a few feet away from her he lifts up the front of his mask to show his mouth and speaks, "Good evening." Under the mask his skin shows him to be a Caucasian man of fair complexion.

Echo has posed:
Stepping from the dark, Echo stands above one of the blinking florescent lights and observes this Taskmaster. She obviously knew he was approaching and didn't hide from his gaze, and there's no traps to reach out to try to surprise him. She puts a hand on her hip and seems ready to address him.

Just then, the subway starts to come in and it's really loud, echoing through the platform, making it impossible for anyone to speak and be heard but Maya makes no move to react to it. It squeaks to a halt and the doors open, the eerie yellow light inside streaming out. Mysteriously, no one exits. There's nobody on the subway. The subway sits there quietly, ominously. "I got your message and I can help you," she explains, somehow on cue, "Masks bother my ability to understand by the way, for future reference."

Taskmaster has posed:
As the subway train pulls up Taskmaster looks at it to check for danger, taking a few seconds to give it a visual examination. When no one exits it the masked mercenary looks towards Echo again and nods once more. "I appreciate the assistance," He says, leaving his mask pulled up so he can be understood when he's speaking.

"I don't leave home without the mask. It's part of what you get when you pay for my services." Lifting his chin he asks, "You got another preference for communicating? I'm very adaptable when it comes to meeting the needs of the people I work with or work for."

Echo has posed:
Echo considers what he's saying for a moment, as if the question about what she wants is unusual. She then says, "Text message works," she explains. "I will give you the number," she promises.

Just then, the subway rings and the doors close. It sits there quietly for a second, then starts off, screaming down the tunnel to the next stop. "I work for Clan Yashida and I can coordinate what you need."

Taskmaster has posed:
"Sounds good," Taskmaster tells the woman, tilting his head slightly to the side as he studies her, his lips pressing together thoughtfully. "I would very much like to work for Clan Yashida. If they need someone of my abilities and meet my requirements then there's no reason this can't be the beginning of a good working relationship." He moves a bit, almost starting to pace, but keeps his face towards Echo. "Is there anything you need from me for us to get started?"

Echo has posed:
Echo doesnt seem happy or upset, just regards this Taskmaster in a businesslike way as she says, "I'm sure they could use you," she promises, "But I'll have to get back to you on specifics," she adds.

"There's certainly a variety to choose from, given the others. Can you tell me your terms? What requirements are you talking about?" she wonders.

Taskmaster has posed:
"My requirements are pretty simple. Depending on what you need me to do I'll need a certain amount of money," Taskmaster explains. "There's no fixed price, it depends on the job you want performed and factors in difficulty and risk. If I'm going to be training soldiers then I'll need to make sure they can be transported to wherever I set up my training facilities in a discrete manner."

Echo has posed:
Echo listens along closely to what this Taskmaster says and adds, "Uh huh," she tells him. She replies, "I'm not sure what they'd need that for, but it could be useful," she comments idly.

"How can I contact you next time?" she wonders, "I'll let you know the details."

Taskmaster has posed:
"Text this number," Taskmaster says as he reaches into one of his belt pouches and pulls out a business card, offering it to Echo. "I've got the phone on me all the time. Only myself and my handler will have access to anything you send to it." After handing off the card the man in the cape lets a smile show on his unmasked mouth, "I'm looking forward to hearing from you."

Echo has posed:
Echo nods to what this Taskmaster says to her and shifts as she stands under the light, reaching and taking the business card from him. Her fingers, hand and her forearm are lined with athletic tape in what looks like a haphazardly fashing. The tape is twisted in a tight fashion around her muscles, as if she's a masochist. She looks down at the lil business card and then looks back at him as she says, "Alright," she answers simply, "Do you have any questions?" she wonders.

Taskmaster has posed:
"No. No questions," Taskmaster replies, shaking his head very faintly as he briefly examines the tape on the woman's body. "You have any for me? As long as you're not asking for specifics on other employers I try to be pretty open about who I am and what I can do." He reaches up to touch his mask again, making sure his lips are still visible.

Echo has posed:
Echo motions to herself, "Just remember to call me Echo," she tells him, "I'll have to keep tabs on you once you start work, no offense or anything," she adds.

"I don't have any other questions," she tells him.

Taskmaster has posed:
"Understood, Echo. You need to know what you're paying for, after all," the Taskmaster replies, seemingly unbothered by being monitored at work. "Each employer has their personal preferences."

"Have a good evening," says the man as he pulls down his mask to cover his entire face once more, then heads back in the direction from whence he came, letting the darkness of the subway tunnel swallow him.
