Cast of Characters: Rage, Cindy Larsen, X-23

Rage has posed:
It's starting to become evening in New York as the late hours of the afternoon has trickled away to darkness. Andrea has a fire pit set up in the back yard with a couple of lawn chairs. Sprawled out in one, she is currently listening to some music on a portable speaker attached to her phone and scribbling away in a notebook. Dressed in a pair of tiny denim shorts with tears along the thighs and a simple sun dress of white and orange floral patterns.

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Evening is a nice time to be outside, especially as the weather is cooling off with Autumn growing closer. Cindy noticed the fire out one of the windows and decided to come investigate! Of course, she thought ahead, too. If it's a fire, there has to be s'mores, right? She's only happy to see it's Andrea sitting there beside the fire, and the leopard-girl grins broadly as she approaches. "Hey Andrea," she greets her cheerfully, "Check it out." Cindy sets the s'mores stuff on the table, grinning. Her brow arches when she notices the notebook. "Catchin' up on homework?" she asks, curiously.

X-23 has posed:
The fire is enough to get interest. And the music out here is fairly new too. So, Laura makes her way off towards Andrea, giving a nod to her as she approaches. She sees Cindy there, and her brow furrows. New person. The brunette considers her, looking her up and down.

Rage has posed:
"Hey Cindy!" Andrea says happily to her friend with a grin. "No homework for me. Just writing down some thoughts for my next training session with my team." Her smile tugs upwards along her face. "Mister Summers I guess kinda gave me homework. Just wants me to work on some strength versus weaknesses insight." At the sight of Laura, she smiles. "Speaking of, this is Laura, one of my teammates." She waves a hand to her. "Hey, this is Cindy. One of my classmates and friends."

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Cindy's ear twitches; she heard Laura approaching before she saw her. She doesn't feel threatened though, since they're on school grounds. Cindy's got her hood down, so the blonde hair and leoparine features are entirely apparent on her. She doesn't feel the need to be -quite- so covered up when she's around the school, after all. She turns to address Laura when Andrea mentions her, presenting a friendly smile - no teeth, since people sometimes think she's snarling at them by mistake. "Nice to meet you, Laura," she says, lifting a hand to wiggle her fingers in a wave. "You want a s'more?" she asks, her lengthy tail giving a little flit back and forth behind her. A brief aside to Andrea, she adds, "So, I was right, it was homework!"

X-23 has posed:
Laura is a little surprised at Cindy's appearance. But only a little. It shows in her face, but she doesn't comment on it. She nods once. "It is nice to meet you." She gives a sniff once at the other offer. "What is a s'more?"

Rage has posed:
"A s'more is a snack made of crackers, chocolate and marshmallow. You roast it over a fire and it melts together. Really sticky and sweet." Andrea says with a grin to Laura. "Let's make you one and see if you like it."

Cindy Larsen has posed:
There's a bit of a surprised expression from Cindy, as well! "What's a -s'more-?" she repeats, though Andrea takes care of explaining the premise to Laura. She giggles again and grins broadly. "Oh, you're gonna like it," she says, "Here's how it goes." She picks up one of the sticks she brought along, and walks Laura through the steps of toasting a marshmallow and assembling a s'more. "You gotta be careful with the marshmallows," she says, "They burn really easily. And if it catches fire..." She demonstrates, intentionally setting fire to the marshmallow. "Just blow it out." Huff. "Don't fling it around trying to put it out, you might hit me, and I'm pretty flammable." Cindy grins again, then continues, putting the marshmallow between two pieces of graham cracker along with a chunk of milk chocolate. She squishes it together a little bit, and holds it out to Laura. "Here ya go," she offers with a smile.

X-23 has posed:
Laura frowns at the giggle when the s'more query gets repeated. She nods once to Andrea. "I will try it." Once it's prepared, she takes it, heedless of heat, and takes a bite. Her expression is thoughtful. "It is very sweet. And very hot."

Rage has posed:
"Yup, usually you wanna give it a few seconds to cool down first." Andrea grins at Laura as she puts her own together, then puts it on a stick to hold out over the fire. "We used to do this when we would go camping in the girl scouts. It was the best part of the trip. We'd tell scary stories also before bed."

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Cindy grins, and nods her head. "Yeah, but they're good, aren't they?" she asks, as she goes about preparing her own. She also grabs one of the chairs and pulls it a bit closer to the fire, so she can get more comfortable. "I was never in the girl scouts," she says, "I did the 4H thing up in Wisconsin for a little while, though. It never really appealed to me. Too many cows." Her brow arches as she glances to Laura again. "What about you?" she asks, curiously.

X-23 has posed:
Laura finishes her s'more and looks back. "I do not know 4H. Or girl scouts. Or cows." None of them fall in her area of expertise. "These are nice. But in small amounts."

Rage has posed:
"Ah. Laura has a bit of an interesting background. Until she came to the school, she wasn't treated really well or allowed outside. So.. this is all new to her." Andrea says as she rubs the back of her shoulder, then makes another s'more for Laura. "She's a good fighter though so if you want to learn much about combat, she could probably teach you a few things."

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Cindy nods her head in agreement with Laura. "Yeah, I think I could only have two or three of them at most." Her attention turns to Andrea as the other girl explains about Laura's unique background, and she gives a slow nod of her head. "Ah, I'm sorry to hear that, Laura," she says, offering the girl a small smile, "I understand, though. It must not be easy, but I hope things are better for you here." Her tail twitches, and she finishes off the rest of her s'more as well. "...I should've brought some drinks out, too," she realizes.

X-23 has posed:
"There are different challents. And different routines. It is much harder to interact with people. And there is much less training. But there has also been no torture." Laura says, as if it's nothing. "Drinks would be good. These are sticky."

Rage has posed:
"High school can sometimes be considered torture." Andrea chuckles softly as she rocks on the chair. "Calculus is definitely painful at times. I'm good at math but some of the equations still trip me up." She blows out a breath and gives a glance to Laura. "Mister Summers wants to get us together for a training session. See how well we work together in combat situations."

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Cindy finishes off her s'more, and licks her fingers with what appears to be a fairly felinesque tongue. "I'd say that's definitely an improvement," she says, before she glances to Andrea with a bit of concern. She doesn't comment about combat situations, though. She knows how dangerous it is, especially for mutants, and she knows that what Andrea is training for is necessary. She stands up, rather than getting another s'more ready. "I'll go grab some drinks," she says, "Either of you want anything specific?" She waits, to hear what they'd like, and then heads back toward the mansion.

X-23 has posed:
Laura lifts an eyebrow at the mention of training. "That would be good. Many members of the team are not sufficiently trained in combat. And I would like a soda, please."

Rage has posed:
"Sure, water for me!" Andrea calls over to Cindy with a smile. Back to Laura, she nods her head. "Yeah, I agree. We do okay on the fly, but we need some actual plans when we get attacked or need to save someone's life in the field." The popstar brushes her hair back behind her ear. "How are you doing by the way? Are you making new friends?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks over. "Things are...frustrating. It is more difficult, making progress on non-combat training." She shakes her head. "I do not have an easy time making "friends"."

Rage has posed:
"Making friends will get easier the more you talk to people. I know it must be hard for you. But we're friends, right? So if you ever need to talk to someone, you can find me. We can do whatever you want." Andrea assures her as she pokes at the fire with her stick after making another s'more. "The trick to making friends is trying to find out what people like to do, and then deciding if you want to try it out also. Find common ground."
