Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir has been stumbling into increasingly alarming knowledge about certain events on the Astral Plane, and now? She has been warned not to prepare. Which runs ice through her veins and flies in the face of all her instincts.

So she hit the library, and started reading books. Books won't make her more of a target, right? Right? And the first few were almost useless, then she found stranger and stranger works in the Xavier's library which, after all, would have no shortage of information about Astral matters. Because Erika is proactive with these things. And social.

And then on a whim, she took her gloves off and actually touched the book. Yeah, she lives dangerously. And then she checked the book out, and started carrying it and reading it and taking buses and things. And now she is completely lost, standing in front of a building she doesn't recognize at all, guided by somebody else's memories, holding a book she maybe shouldn't have been reading, a bit frightened by the idea of not doing anything to help. She cautiously knocks on the door...

Doctor Strange has posed:
Bleeker Street, Greenwich village, standing in front of the building with the address 177a, Erika might be filled with an odd sense of unease as the door takes quite a while to open. After an uncomfortably long wait, the door whooshes open and there's a tall man with a goatee peeking out from around the door and he quickly motions and summons Erika to come inside. "Quickly, quickly, come in, events are in motion and things are afoot, we must hurry." Stephen says as he ushers Erika inwards towards the incredible musuem like foyer of the sanctum sanctorum.

"I am Doctor Strange." The wizard says as he shuts the door and turns back to Erika and slams his fists together before rolling his wrists and his palms are pressed together before he closes his fingers, with just the tips touching for a moment and then he pulls his hands apart to his sides. The center of the room collapses in on it self, the floating pan-flute in the middle disappears and the tiles on the floor and the walls all move inwardly towards themselves, the room shrinking in size to a less... impossible size. "How can I help you?" Strange asks Erika as if what he just did was completely normal.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir swallows, looking around at the changes. Okay. "Okay. I'll just put it out there. I'm a psychometrist. So I guess I am really psychically sensitive, but... Not the same way that my teachers are. A few nights ago, everybody had nightmares, but guess I had a nightmarier nightmare than everybody else, because I remember parts that nobody else got. And then my teacher was acting weird, so I tried to investigate. I took a video of it. When my teachers saw, they told me not to do anything to get ready, because they are telepaths and they don't want me to be a bigger target. But I feel like I am already really vulnerable."

She bites her lip." I want to help, and I want to make myself safer, and I feel like doing nothing isn't making me safe, but they probably had a reason to say what they did. I'm hoping that there's something useful I can do. "

Doctor Strange has posed:
Stephen listens to Erika's stories and his gloved hand moves to his chin as he ponders her words and his grey eyes dance to the middle of the room, seemingly looking at nothing, but with a creepy certainty and solidness that he's actually looking at something. Strange turns to look at Erika and there's a second, more jarring whooshing sound, acompanied by Erika's surroundings changing completely. She and the wizard are now in a circular room, lined with books, on enormous shelves covering the entire perimeter and even hanging from the domelike ceiling, but not falling off the shelves onto them... unnaturally. There's two large wingback chairs that sit near the fireplace that is simultaneiously, in the opposite wall, and in the middle of the room.

Strange stands next to one of the chairs, but his eyes are towards a shelf when he asks, "Tell me everything you can recall about this nightmare, Psychometrist." Because she didn't give him her name, that's what he calls her. For now.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods. "My name is Erika, or I go by Souvenir if I don't want people to know who I am. I was asleep. When my powers are working, I can't sleep, and telepaths read as things to my brain. So suddenly there was a woman in my mind. I don't recognize her. Maybe I would recognize one of her things, I don't know. She was in a battle, and she was brave and determined. But she realized she was about to lose."

She takes a moment to recall and collect her thoughts, suddenly wishing she had some water or ginger ale or something to sip for the moment. "So she told everyone what was happening, as a warning. Then whatever she was fighting swallowed her, and she was gone."

"One of my teachers had been acting weird for days before that. She never smoked, and suddenly she was chain smoking constantly. I wasn't sure if it was her, because I didn't see her that day, so I gathered up some of her cigarette butts, and I read them." She pulls out her phone. "Something was trying to break into her mind. Dark, spiky.." She wiggles her fingers. "Tentacles? I don't remember, it's dreamlike. I just have the video to go by. The memories talked about a man who was watching her. The smoke helped for some reason." She offers the phone over.

Doctor Strange has posed:
"Dark, spiky and with tentacles..." Stephen says whispering to himself and he turns his body to face away from the chair he was leaning against, his hand reaching out towards the bookshelves and a single tome unsettles itself and floats gently to his hand. It's a fairly new looking book and maybe Erika might recognize the book's title...

    /Dungeons and Dragons, Monster Manual/

Strange starts flipping through the newish pages of the book and he stops on one, "An Aboleth." He says to himself, looking back to Erika and turning the page around to show Erika the illustration on the page. "Does this resemble anything you saw in your dream?"

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir shrugs helplessly. "I'm sorry, sir. Most of the memories go away when I stop touching whatever it is. I don't know what I saw any more than what I say on the video." She frowns.

"I just know that I feel like we are all in danger, and I feel like I am going to be a target when things start happening, but anything I know how to do or study is going to make me even more at risk. But I don't know what you do at all, so maybe you have something, or maybe if I tell you this, you can make it so the bad things won't happen." She looks down and to the side, feeling a bit helpless, afraid, and frustrated at her inability to deal with things in any way that makes sense to her.

Doctor Strange has posed:
Stephen shuts the book with one hand, setting it down on the small end table next to his chair and he steps closer towards Erika and nodding curtly, and decisively, "I will help you Erika. I have several matters that need my attention, I will do what I can to help you, and I will keep a vigilant eye out for these prophecies you speak of. May I ask who your teachers are so that I might speak with them and see if I can gleam any more such information from them?" The doctor asks.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods. "I go to school at Xavier's." She seems a little bit awkward, because there are vague requests for secrecy involved, but she doesn't know how much those apply in this situation.

She pulls out a notecard with her number and email penned onto it. "This is my phone number and my email, if you need to get a hold of me. Or.. I don't know how you would get a hold of me otherwise, but you probably have a way. If I can help with anything, let me know."

Doctor Strange has posed:
"I assume it wasn't Charles who told you that directly, I do not think that sounds like the Professor, I always thought he strifed to empower his students. Who was it exactly?" Stephen inquires further, sounding like he knows a thing or two about the Xavier institue, but keeping it vague enough that he very well could be wrong about Charles.

Stephen takes the offered card and looks at it before moving his hand casually and placing the card on top of the book he had placed there mere moments ago. "Any information you remember or come across would help me greatly in this as well."

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir ohs.. "..Jean. I guess I am going to need to ask the Professor directly, but I don't know what Jean was thinking. She knows a lot more about this than I do. Maybe she saw something Charles didn't. And.. I'll let you know if I find anything else. Uh. If I can find you. I don't think I can find where I am again very easy? I didn't think this through very well."

Doctor Strange has posed:
Stephen nods slowly to Erika, "Jean you say." The wizard, lifting his hand to his chin and stroking it once again noding and recalling the video shown to him by Erika moments ago, "I'm certain Jean had her reasons for asking you to stand aside, but for you to not be able to defend yourself. That's something I do not agree with." The wizard says, cracking his knuckles and turning around, the two of them suddenly back in the foyer once more, next to the front door as he steps towards it and opens the thing, allowing Erika access to the outside world once more. "I am easy enough to find and you're in Manhatten, Greenwich exactly, this is my home, 177a Bleeker street, and you're welcome to come by if you ever have need or require sanctuary." Stephen says, sounding in a rush to get to work.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods respectfully. "Thank you, sir. I hope I was helpful." She smiles a bit. "I'm going to go check on my family before it gets even close to dark. It's a lot of bus changes." She slips out the door and waves, then looks around to try to figure out where to go now. Hmm.
