Synopsis: Blackout displays his uncanny talent of finding himself captured again. This time by A.I.M. However, he managed to escape on foot since his powers were suppressed. M.O.D.O.K. and A.I.M. gave chase. On hand was Captain Marvel to save the day.
Cast of Characters: Blackout, Captain Marvel (Danvers)

Blackout has posed:
An explosion. Isn't how that always starts? Some jerk somewhere sets off a bomb or maybe it was an accidental tripping of some defense parameter. Maybe it was a chemical explosion that was a completely random industrial accident. They'd have to turn the counter back to 0 on the sign that reads "# days since last incident". Oh, and it's at 3am. Why does it always have to happen in the middle of everyone's happy REM sleep time?

But in this case, the explosion takes place in Staten Island. Just across and north of the VN bridge along the shore line < see map http://tinyurl.com/yc7xuj7x >. A few watercraft catch the debris of the explosion and catch fire. The actual explosion took place in the Wilhelmesen Ships Services. Where the entire building is ablaze and threatening surrounding warehouses and structures. There will likely be other explosions to follow.

At the scene itself is Blackout. Carol may have heard of him from such exploits as, Assisting the Wasp against the Arsenal (who, a robot, is in Avengers Mansion basement); being saved by Darcy of SHIELD, or maybe most recently, being saved by Spider-Woman who defeated Scorpia at the same time. In any, nor no case, Blackout is running from the warehouse. He struggles with something around his neck, a glowing electronic collar. He grips at it with both hands as he bolts across Edgewater Street, northeastward toward the docks. He's dressed in all black, a non reflective black that absorbs all light, so the best way to see him is with special visions or with light behind him - and there's plenty of it with the fire all around.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
If it's any comfort, Carol Danvers wasn't woke out of a comfortable sleep. No, that's because Captain Marvel was just on her way back to Earth after serving duty with the Kree. You can always count on the Skrulls to be warmongering bastards who pull off dirty tricks. But Carol did expect to get some time chill as she got back to Earth, so she's still pissed.

Thanks to the marvelous 7th Sense of her Kree side, Captain Marvel seems to just know to appear in Staten Island, descending towards the VN bridge. While she spots Blackout, her first instinct is to get that fire under control, so she goes about locating a large container she could swoop into the river and get water to dampen the fire. Not without simultaneously alerting the fire department via Avengers communicator.

Blackout has posed:
There are plenty of large cyllinders made of iron that could be used to scoop up 28,000 gallons of water at a time (size of a regular swimming pool).

As she gets closer however, there are yellow flashes of light coming from black rifles being held by men wearing yellow jumpsuits. < http://tinyurl.com/y6vuhbgs A.I.M. Troops > Those yellow lasers are fired at Blackout. They are over 50 yards away, and the men in the yellow jumpsuits shoot like Stormtroopers. So Blackout is safe for now. The men in yellow jumpsuits number up to 20, and they are giving chase to Blackout.

Blackout manages to duck between the two warehouses while rushing northeast, still heading toward the docks, But he fades from regular sight (except for the collar that has yellow lights on it) as he enters the shadows between the buildings. He keeps running though. No time to stop and wait for his attackers.

The fire department will be en route within 5 minutes.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Marvel took a glance at Blackout, he was in danger, she was about to alter course before realizing it's the A.I.M. jokers who are threatening him, and he seems more than capable of handling them. Hence, she kept to the task at bay, making the rounds to reign in the fire until the fire department could get there. But not without making her presence known to A.I.M., as she calls out, "I just got back here from a mini galactic war...I really don't feel like wiping the floor with you jokers, any chance you'll just give up? Or do I need to down every last one of you...?" Heck, she figures if she just gets some of them to look her way, it'll be enough to give Blackout a hand.

Blackout has posed:
Fire is fire, it has spots all over the place from the initial explosion and will take quite a bit to get all of it. Even with the deluge from the cistern of iron.

A.I.M. Agents freeze in the street as they hear the resonate voice of Captain Marvel. They raise their yellow laser shooting rifles and the air is suddenly alight with pew-pews from the street below. None of the lasers will hurt her if they were to hit. But they would really hurt a normal and some lower powered metahuman/mutant. Pew Pew!

That's when a voice is heard from the gulf of flame from the main warehouse. It's a manic, disturbing voice that echos from a very large, floating head upon a tiny body in a hover chair. Xavier would be jealous. < http://tinyurl.com/ycbxczbb M.O.D.O.K. > It screams, "KILL HER! KILL THEM ALL! CAPTURE BLACKOUT. KILL BLACKOUT. KILL THEM ALL!" The hover chair ascends around 50 feet above the warehouse and from the extended arms of the chair, blasters emerge and yellow repulsar rays are fired. Now these will hurt a bit if they hit their target. PEW PEW!

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Listen up bozos," Marvel calls out, as her next round, she pours all of the water on the A.I.M. goons, before completing the move by tossing the large cistern at them. "Shooting people isn't cool, and no matter what bloaty head says, the Captain says weapons down." She tries to at least draw the fire her way, as she makes herself very visible, slowly descending towards them. If they're lucky, they won't actually shoot at her.

Blackout has posed:
M.O.D.O.K. is surrounded by a very powerful yellow tinged force field of forceness. It will repel /most/ attacks. His forehead possesses a focal point where his Telekinesis is emitted from. That telekinesis reaches out toward Captain Marvel. While his yellow laser blasters still blast at her.

28,000 gallons of water dumped on normals with guns is devastating. They are struck harshly by the force of the deluge. Their bodies are scattered in all directions. Luckily they wear light armor and helmets. Guns are scattered, some flow down the drain to be found later by giant alligators and used in some post apocalyptic gamma world scene.

Blackout is nowhere to be seen. He continues to run off to hide. Or try to remove the collar that is around his neck. In reality, he's taken refuge aboard a docked ship.

Bystanders begin to emerge into the area. A police car races onto the scene. Cell phone cameras are produced. It immediately encounters the flow of water down the street.

M.O.D.O.K. screams, "CAPTAIN MARVEL, YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR MEDDLING IN MY AFFAIRS! YOU AND YOUR LITTLE BLACKOUT DOG TOO!"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I didn't know you were into jewelry," Captain Marvel quips at M.O.D.O.K. making light of the all important crystal embedded in his forehead. She doesn't try to evade the blasters firing at her, instead of showing any pain, she's actually starting to glow the more lasers hit her. "Last I checked I didn't have a dog...so what's the story with Blackout? Stole your favorite earrings, did he?"

She remains more or less still, just hovering over ground, as she feels M.O.D.O.K.'s telekinetic hold around her, causing her to part her legs and arms as she prepares to exert a counter force. "Are you sure you really want to test me...? Last I heard some of the X-Men kids managed to handle you without adult supervision, was that true or just fake news?"

Blackout has posed:
M.O.D.O.K. flies toward Captain Marvel, but will try to maintain a 50ft distance. His telekinesis is a Class 50 strength. Meaning, he can lift 50 tons with it. Less than half the weight that Captain Marvel can muster. He's not aware of her full abilities, yet. More pew-pew blasters strike her. Feeing her more energy. He is likely too distracted by other events. He yells at his goons, "GET UP! GET UP! CAPTURE BLACKOUT! KILL HER!" He tries to answer Capt Marvel's query in a hostile tone, "THE X-MEN. THEY WILL PAY FOR THEIR INSOLENCE!" His tiny legs flail about. His arms control the chair with a strange dexterity.

M.O.D.O.K.'s force field will resist most normal attacks that Captain Marvel can throw at him. However, now that she's being all super charged, she'll have no problem penetrating the force field. Shattering it in one blast if she was so inclined.

Meanwhile, aboard the nearby cargo ship. Blackout searches for bolt cutters.

Below, the police officer steps out of his cruiser and draws his weapon. He's half a block away from where all the A.I.M. agents are - who are slowly getting up from being pounded by the water. The officer yells, "STATEN ISLAND PD, Drop your weapons!" pointing his gun at the A.I.M. agents.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
If M.O.D.O.K. was more alert, he may have noticed that Captain Marvel's hair was turning from blonde to nearly ethereal light based glowing threads, something was off as her body was radiating a more vibrant aura, as she raises a sparkly fisted hand at him. "How strong is your forcefield again?" She asks, before unleashing a powerful photon blast, not even bothering with both hands the way she surges with power at the moment.

Should that dissuade M.O.D.O.K. from proceeding with his attack, Marvel will go on the lookout for Blackout.

Blackout has posed:
The shield explodes into a thousand shards of yellow energy. Like the shattering of a pane of glass. M.O.D.O.K. screams in fear and he slams his hand down on a button. There's a sudden shift of light as he disappears in a tiny singularity that teleports him to some undisclosed location. The A.I.M. agents below know it's over. A few run in various directions. But most just raise their hands to surrender.

With her luck/combat sense/vision/something, Captain Marvel will find Blackout standing on the aft part of a cargo ship. In front of him is a large floor mounted supply/tool box. He holds his arms out pretty far to hold the handles of a large set of bolt cutters. He's positioning the cutters on the power suppressor collar. She may calculate that if he cuts it, it's going to shock the hell out of him, may even kill him.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel is about to follow up with a marvelous fist straight to M.O.D.O.K.'s oversized face, but he does the smart thing and teleports away before she can smash him further, "smart move," she snorts, before proceeding to look for Blackout. Eventually she makes it to the right spot, just in time to call out, "stop...it's been rigged! You might kill yourself..."

Blackout has posed:
Blackout freezes. If she could see his face beneath the mask, she would see his skin go white out of shock. That he was just about to do something really stupid. And he should have known better. He drops the bolt cutters. They clang loudly upon the deck. Alerting people on the bow of the ship - who were out watching the conflict - that something is going on aft. They start moving in that general direction.

Blackout looks up at the approaching Captain Marvel. He turns toward her, head up. Face of pure black seemingly peering her way. The collar around his neck is bulky and has yellow lights on it. They blink every now and again. He calls out and up through the mask; it gives his voice a resonate, haunting tone, "You don't happen to have the key, do you?"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Two options," Marvel offers, not having any fancy quip at hand, as Blackout is saved by the neutral expression provided by his mask. "One we look at one of the A.I.M. personnel on hand and see if anybody knows how to unlock this...in exchange for better terms at the trial, or you can come with me...I bet someone from the Avengers or Alpha Flight will be able to hack up that thing for you...what would you prefer?" Hey, choices are fun.

Blackout has posed:
He ponders a second and then states, "I'll go with you. Avengers Mansion. I've always wanted to visit that place." He volunteers to be swept away.
