Synopsis: Kate visits the Avenger's mansion(?) as the bearer of some disturbing news about one of their own: Vision
Cast of Characters: Hawkeye (Bishop), Hawkeye (Barton), Black Widow (Romanoff)

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate's meeting with Vision had been... well, it ranked right up there in the realms of the bizarre. Not only wasn't he at all what she's expected of the synthazoid, but he'd left her a little unsettled in her own beliefs as well. She'd always thought if you believed in right and good hard enough that others would too.

She'd suddenly been confronted with the fact that she may have been mistaken.

More troubling, however, was Vision's behaviour, and given he was an Avenger last she checked, Kate figured he was their problem, and if they didn't know about this whole thing already, they soon were going to.

Provided she could find an Avenger. Their mansion was gone. It made it a little trickier to track one down.

Still, that's where she starts: with the mansion. And today finds her standing outside their gates, staring at the hole that was where the mansion used to be.

"Yep. It's gone. Holy crap that's a huge hole. How do you lose a mansion anyway?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"So, yeah, there's some mission being planned to get the mansion back, it involves some timeless dimension, mantis men, and an explosion that's slowed in time... Not sure what the deal was there, and then Tony was saying we need to steal a wizard's jewel back from the Shadow King, and about that point I wasn't sure if he was serious or Dane was starting up D&D nights again," Clint explains to Nat as they walk the former site of the Avengers Mansion.

"I'm not sure how much I can help with any of it, with Skye misisng, I need to find her, but wanted to make sure you knew what the heck was going on, Nat, someone's got to keep an eye on everyone. It's sounds like it's nuts around here."

As he approaches the fence, he spots a familar face, "Kate?" Clint asks, "What are you doing here?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"If I hadn't been there the day the mansion went away, I'd agree Dane was to blame. Unfortunately, he isn't. As insane as it all sounds. I miss the old days when it was just espionage and assassination." That didn't sound right at all. Thankfully, he knows Natasha well enough to realize what she means.

As he greets someone outside the fence-line, she follows along and waits patiently, looking over the young woman.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate hovers over the gate to the property, leaning on it. She's not in uniform, which is to say she's still probably wearing purple somewhere, and odds are she's got a weapon, but she's looking fairly normal human for the city streets.

Clint's greeting gets a grin. "Barton." Until she gets a good look at him, anyway, as he and his companion come closer. "Woah. What's up with you? Is there some pandemic hitting all the Avengers I should know about? Because I have to say you're the second one in as many days that I've seen who don't look themselves."

She bobs her head to Natasha. "Hey. I'm Kate. Kate Bishop. Do you guys have a few? I think we've got a problem that isn't the state of your septic system."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Clint nods solemly. "That had to be something, sorry I wasn't there for the team," he says about the dy the house vanished. Then, he barks a laugh. "Well I'm right there with you on the espionage part," he says the latter, well he made his thoughts clear on that ofen enough over the years. He'd do it, but he was never happy about it, though there's no judgement for the joke. He knew Nat. "Definitely made a hell of a lot more sense."

Kate is not wrong Barton does look like hell, out of his costume with his face in full display the dark circles under his eyes and face full of stubble is obvious. He punches in a code and unlocks the gate for Kate with no questions asked. "Kate, this is Nat, Nat this is Kate, the other Hawkeye." He'd have mentioned here more than a few times, he was all sorts of proud someone had decided to 'steal' his codename. Not that'd he tell Kate that.

"So which Avenger is in trouble now?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Nice to meet you, Kate," Natasha says with a nod of the head. She then falls silent, leaving it to Clint to ask the questions for now. Since he already knows Kate, there would be more of a rapport so she might feel more comfortable when he was the one asking. Not that Natasha wouldn't open her mouth if she came up with a question he missed.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"The *better* Hawkeye," Kate corrects without missing beat, pushing her way in through the now open gate. "He wishes he were me."

She rolls her eyes at Clint. "An Avenger besides you? Have you looked in a mirror lately? Is this about that friend of your girl's? Because I have news about that. But first things first."

Kate is careful to include both. "We're cool to talk here? And it's about The Vision." She doesn't say more than that in case a more secure location is desired.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Clint seems too tired for much banter, but he does manage a quick, "Debatable,:" before letting Kate speak on the rest.

"Friend of my girl..." he blinks. "Which one?"

Then she brings up Vision, and he nods for her to step away from the fence, a bit of a chill gripping him, how long had it been since he'd seen Vision, or anyone for that matter.

Once they're all far enough back from the fence, he says, "So spill, what's up?"

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
A glance is flicked Clint's way, because it seems like Nat hasn't any part in the business relating to Clint's girlfriend. "Genus? Ring any bells?" She shrugs. "Whole other bit of business."

There's a nod, and Kate hooks her thumbs into her jacket pockets, as she considers where to begin with the pair. Kate carries on with the safest bits, "Has anyone been paying attention to where he is, or what he's up to lately by any chance? Because I'm thinking you all are a bit busy with that hole in the ground over there and might have overlooked a few things you probably didn't mean to."

Like Vision's vigilante rampages.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Clint nods, "Yeah, SHIELD's been looking for him," he says of Genus. "Want to hear what you've got but after what you have on Vision."

As to keeping tabs on the synthezoid, Clint looks to Nat, "I haven't, you?" he asks here. Then looking back to Kate he says, "What's he been doing? I've been wrapped up in othere stuff."

He keeps his fingers crossed against Kate being here to tell them he's gone evil.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
There is a negative shake of Natasha's head. "Can't say that I've been keeping up with him any more than I have any other Avenger. We all have other things we deal with, lives outside the costumes." Missing girlfriends, blown up home worlds, so forth and so on. "We tend to come and go as needed so I haven't thought anything of the fact I've not seen him. In truth, I rarely saw him anyway so nothing was standing out."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate lets the business about Genus lie for now, and nods at both of them. "Right. Okay. Look, I don't know the guy, but he always seemed to me like he was one of the good ones, right? Only what I ran into the other day was /not/ one of the good ones. In fact, he scared me a whole bunch. And not in the good way, either."

Her head tilts fractionally to one side as she offers, "He's maiming people. And coming just short of killing them. He calculated to a 1 percent degree of error how high he could take this guy and drop him on the ground without killing him. Down to how many minutes he'd survive before medical care arrived. If I hadn't knocked out the other man, he'd have killed him outright."

Kate looks just a little bit sickened at relaying this information and having to go back over the whole scenario in her head.

"The one he dropped was stealing out of a woman's purse. I get the other guy was going to rape that lady, but killing him? Your man is off his rocker and thinks that criminals have been given too many chances to prove their humanity and now he's taking that privlege away."

Which is to say, Vision is on the warpath, and he's not going to be all that careful about not killing anyone anymore.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
There is a nod for the Genus business, but his curiosity there is pretty much obliterated by the news that follows it.

"Yeah, he sort of comes and goes, weird guy, but one of the best people I know."

And then so much for crossing your fingers.

"He did what?" Clint asks, eyes going wide. "No way, Vision, he can do those things but he doesn't. You sure it was him?"

Because there's so many synthezoids to get him confused with.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"That doesn't sound like Vision at all," Natasha agrees, brow furrowing slightly in consternation. "When did this happen and where?"

She'll do some digging, get some copies of police reports since there certainly were some. She pulls her phone out of her pocket and begins tapping keys to access SHIELD.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate eyeballs Clint. "You know me, would I lie about something like that?" Then catches herself. "Forget I asked that." Because Kate is a consumate chameleon and lies like it's her mother tongue if she needs to to get what needs doing done.

She just doesn't happen to be lying right now.

She goes on to describe Vision. "Tall. Glowy eyes. Stilted language. Really polite vernacular and an eerie lack of emotional context?" Kate shudders. "That was weird too. He seemed.. angry. Really, really angry. But either there are two of him running around and one is his evil twin, or yes, that's who it was. I couldn't believe it either. He was all on about how, well, for lack of a better phrasing, life had shafted him."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Kate might be able to lie like a champ but he didn't really expect she'd aim any of that at him. "Nah, it's a fair point," he says about her not exactly being the type to lie about this to him.

"And that sounds like him, I am not sure what's worse though Vision gone mad, or, there being a second Vision. The original was created by Ultron." You know the metal would-be ruler of earth, you know, once all the humans were dead...

Clint takes a breath, "Okay what did he say about life shafting him?" he asks Kate. "That seems, odd, Vision was always really chill. Nat, you finding anything?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Yeah. And it isn't pretty. News footage." Natasha looks concerned. For her to look concerned, it's a bad thing. Really bad. "I'll forward it all over to your email so you can see but it is either a duplicate Vision or he is acting completely out of sorts. He seems...confused at one point in this imagery."

She touches the screen and finds the police record on the incident Kate mentioned as well. "We need to find him. Quickly."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"No, it's not pretty news footage." And Kate knows her little encounter with Vision isn't what Nat is looking at. For that she'd have to check hospital records.

"I don't know," Kate struggles to go back over the conversation - rant, really - Vision had with her. "He was going on about how the men were going to kill the woman. How she was someone's CHILD!" Kate says the single word with the vehemence that Vision had used. "Then something about how FATE had hurt him. That he had one path to being human and now it was gone, that he couldn't be human so now the only choice he had left was to make sure that those who were truly human remained, but those who weren't.." She drifts off. "That's how he put it. Some whole business about they weren't human by their actions and they and their sort should be made extinct."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
When Nat says something isn't pretty, that speaks volumes and Clint takes that in, growing a little pale at the thought. "Yeah, send it over," he says. He'd look later, for now Nat's description is enough. "Confused?" he asks. "That doesn't sound like him at all."

What Kate has to say only compounds that conclusion. "Did he say what that once chance was?" he asks thinking that might be the lure they could use to bring him out into the open. As for Vision's manifesto on humanity, Clint shakes his head. "That's not good, he sounds like what would happen if the Punisher and Ultron had a kid."

"And yeah, we definitely need to find him, I also need to hit up the Trisk for some specialty arrows, I have a few things that might slow him down." Something Nat and few others would know, is Clint kept an arrow for every Avenger, just in case.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Might get with Stark as well. He may have some things that would help if we can't talk Vision down," Natasha adds as she closes up her phone and tucks it back into her pocket.

"His last chance at being human? I don't understand that at all."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"He didn't explain that part," Kate says dryly. "He was a lot more focused on explaining to me why everyone who didn't learn from their mistakes deserved to die. How it made them not-human. That they knew how to be human and they chose not to be."

She makes a pained face.

"Oh, and he said something about, how when he first met the Avengers, one of you called him a Terrible, Inhuman Vision - that's what he's decided to be. Look, do you guys need some help with this? I know I'm not one of your clan, but I'm handy with a bow, and I know a thing or two about getting to the bottom of stories. I'm happy to back off, but the offer is there."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Nodding Clint says, "Yeah, this definitely feels like a Stark and Banner kind of problem," he says. Not that he's not going to be there, Vision was his friend.

Kate's description of things just confirms his worst fears. "Yeah, definitely sounding like a Punisher/Ultron vibe," he says. As for Kate's offer, "I can't speak for the team, but I'll bring it to them, but for now definitely keep your ears open, Kate. We need to find Vision before he hurts anyone else."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate gives a mostly breezy shrug. "No skin off my nose one way or another. I'm just glad I got to bring the information to you guys."

She nods to Nat. "Really nice meeting you. I gotta say, we need more butt kicking ladies in the world. Only, I prefer to do mine from a distance. Anyway, you ever need a PI? Look me up." She flips a business card out of her pocket, thinks better of it, and pulls a few more out. "Come to think of it, tell your friends. I could use the business."

Then back to Clint, "And if you have a few, I'll bring you up to date on that friend of yours."

Her business, otherwise, is concluded.
