A Walk on the Beach
Date of Scene: 06 December 2018
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Poseidon, Wonder Woman, Ares

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon is water currently, a mass surrendered to the natural currents of the oceans. He does not intend to visit New York's beaches, but here he is all the same. A small whirpool forms where he stands, he doesn't make his presence obvious, merely "there." He listens and feels the fish hunting the kelp. Peace engulfs him.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana is near the edge of the river that this event is unfolding at today, she's... of all things... jogging along the riverside walkway. Its a popular part of Battery Park on the lower west side of Manhattan's island. Its very common to find joggers here and she's just one of many, even if she stands out a bit due to her physical features of being tall and otherwise uncommon in appearance.

Still though, the commotion caused by a whirlpool appearing causes the Princess of Themyscira to jog toward it, then slow her pace and make her way through the crowd to watch whatever the others were staring at. Some recognize her and step out of her way, others treat her like any other New Yorker gets treated.

Poseidon has posed:
A whisper calls to Diana as not to alarm the other beach goers, "Daughter of Zeus it is good to see you. I did not expect to see you here. I am meditating here but I always have time for you. You have done much to guard our world. How fair you?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana approaches the edge of the railing where the water has whirled about. She hears the voice and she glances around her to the others at the boardwalk. Her eyes return to the source of the voice in the water. "Poseidon." She says in her smokey voice. "You come at the oddest times." She comments with a faint smirk. "I am fairing... well." She offers in response to his question, a modestly confused look on her face. "I hope that you are as well?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon smiles but it is not something that can be seen by onlookers, "I have only recently awakened from my slumber. The world has changed. Only Atlantis and a few scattered people revere or worship me now. My power remains but it could be more. I still rule the water and will do what I can to save it and the Earth from invaders. I have heard that there have already been such enemies of this world and that you have played a large part in thwarting them. It is little wonder than Olympus remains idle in this age. You do us all a great service Diana. But you also serve the common good and that I respect above all. Humanity needs us to serve them more than we need them to worship us. Not all gods acknowledge that. Simple reverence is all we need to retain our power. Prostration is a thing of the past and a tradition of old orders."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana gives another glance to those around her as some of them of course have their fancy cell phones out and are taking images and whatever else they can of this play out here on the waterfront. She looks back to where he 'is' and she shows a faint smirk. "The questions as to why the Gods are less involved in the modern day world are one that can be talked about... at length." She responds. "Though such a conversation is better served in more ideal locations than this." She lowers her chin just a little then. "I am glad to hear that you approve of my actions, however, Poseidon. I... aim to continue to do my best for the people of this world, and should the Gods wish to be involved? Well... I hope that they choose to aide me, rather than work against me."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon would smile again, "I support you but I cannot speak for the others. I have never been one for elaborate sacrifices of fealty or blind faith. I care for this world and the people in it. Perhaps that is because my perspective is the oceans, lakes, and rivers. But I do know that I can speak for myself and I believe in your ideals. I cannot stand on the front lines, that is your duty, as I would rather empower the powerful than enable them to rely on me. It is better for me to act behind the scenes as it were. I will try to speak with the other gods as I can to seek their approval." He tries to remain hidden from the onlookers.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's hands hold onto the cold metal of the waterfront's edge and she glances from her left to her right and then back down to the water that is speaking to only her. "Gaining their favor is no easy task, as I know that you are all too familiar with. Should you need my aide, I am here to offer it. But as you say... my duty is to remaining on the front line of all danger that is facing mankind, it is the goal and purpose of everything I have done since leaving Themyscira's shores behind."

Ares has posed:
"I'd say most gods would support you. It's me they would rather slay."

The God of War, Ares approaches Diana as she speaks covertly with Poseidon. Though he is dressed in casual clothing, like a light jacket, some jeans, a t-shirt, and some combat boots. "She's done an okay job." Ares smiles to Poseidon. Despite their squabbles in the past, Ares doesn't seem to dislike Poseidon. Though the only people he has constant problems with lately are Diana and Zeus.

"I take it you two have already reconvened." Of course, Ares didn't hear anything about Poseidon wanting other gods to approve of anything, but even still..this can turn into a tense situation real quick...because Ares and Diana are in the same vicinity.

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon listens to Ares speak and remains diplomatic, "Ah.. Ares we meet again. I would like to speak to the other gods and perhaps convince them to give Diana their favor.. and yours." He chooses now to appear as a man exitng from a nearby restroom, "Perhaps we and the Asgardians can come to an accord. There are threats beyond Earth which require our vigilance.:

Wonder Woman has posed:
When Ares does arrive not far from where Diana is, her head turns and she eyes him with a stare that doesn't suggest she's entirely pleased to see him. But she keeps her opinions on this matter reserved for now and she just looks back out to the water to listen to Poseidon's response.

With a gentle nod of her head she drops her hands from the cold dark metal railing and she lets them hang at her sides. "I will be here to offer what aide is asked of me, Poseidon." She says then before she starts to turn and she looks to Ares again. It hasn't been that long since they spoke last, fairly recently as far as their interactions go. She was raised to hate him, Hippolyta ensured that. She was fed stories of his attrocities and that he would be the ruin of the world if he was left to continue as he had behaved so many years gone.

"Let us hope all are willing to aim for the good." She says then as she starts to walk off once more.

Ares has posed:
Ares looks upon Poseidon and he couldn't help but chuckle. "You want me ti give her a blessing? Please, that's the rest of you are apparently for. Besides, I'm not exactly a welcome son of Olympus, remember?" He rolls his eyes to Poseidon before he sighs. "Look, that's her choice. If you want to convene a meeting between Asgard and Olympus, well...I'll go along with it." he sighs.

He looks to Diana then as she seems to still hate him, and give him a subtle hint that she wants him to do the right thing, but Ares isn't convinced that this should be their champion. "Let's hope so indeed." He sighs, looking to Poseidon. "Maybe you will be the one to tell her the truth."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana continues on her way but she's stopped by other pedestrians who have to ask her what was going on. Its not an easy thing to explain to the pedestrians and park visitors here at Battery Park but she knows she's a symbol of justice and peace, so she takes the time to speak to those... including some who appear to be some form of internet journalists or live bloggers. Diana does glance back to Ares and where Poseidon was here and there, but by the time she wraps it up she starts again on her way toward the city.

Ares has posed:
Ares just watched Diana leave, sighing and shrugging his shoulders. "She could at least come and say hi to her nephew one of these days." Of course, he speaks of his son Alexander. He glances back to Poseidon as Diana looks his way. Siblings will be siblings...but it doesn't make their relationship any less hostile.
