Polaris has posed:
It had been months since Lorna had been around the Xavier school, nearly a whole year in fact. The green haired magnokinetic had taken off some time last year to return to her father's place of power in Genosha and there she had stayed. The young woman hadn't stayed in contact, and had more or less stuck solely to Genosha and it's development. She'd spent long days working in the diplomatic places of power, and to the public eye.. Had been the idealized perfection of a Princess in action.

Still, she had wanted to return, to visit old friends and her once chosen family. So she'd packed her bags and flew over to the school. A private jet, one where money mattered more questions, had brought her back. Lorna was bundled in a thick woolen jacket as she entered the mansion, all color coordinated and matching, with thick gloves and furry hat perched on her head. She gestured and her wheeled bags floated in after her and the door shut behind her.

Iceman has posed:
The sound of someone coming in the door catches Bobby's attention. Wandering the halls, he's in a pair of blue jeans and a simple shirt, carrying a sandwich that he was snacking on. Feeling the chill in the air, he turns his attention to the foyer, he glances down as he sees a familiar form, all color-coordinated and matching with her floating luggage, and there's a grin.

"Hey Lorna!" calls down Bobby from the second floor as he moves to the stairs to take them down. Sure, he could just ice down, but he's not going to get another lecture on leaving water puddles around the house. "It's .. been a while." he admits as he gives the green haired woman a smile. "Welcome home."

Polaris has posed:
A glance was spared around the entry way, and Lorna shrugged off her coat to hang it up on one of the many hooks that were available. She tamped off the snow from her boots, peeling off layers of winter gear as she tried to spy who was about. Then there was Bobby, practically jumping down the stair well toward her and a reflexive grin pulled at the corners of her lips as she finished hanging up her jacket.

"Hey you, and thanks. I was worried no one would be around when I just walked in." She shrugged, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jeans. "How are things? I take it I've missed a lot."

Iceman has posed:
"Eh. Not much. Rogue going missing, Doctor Strange is down in medbay, there was some sleeping thing going around, and we got Rogue back." Bobby offers in a lassiez faire manner of telling her that sloppy joes and tater tots are for supper - though it's not. "And you? Last I heard, you were going off to Genosha and become the powerhouse diplomat." he offers with a chuckle.

He looks her over for a moment, and then glances away, a hint of color at his cheeks. "Anyway, it's good to have you back. I don't think anyone moved into your room while you were gone."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna blinked and pushed her hair back from her face, hitching an eyebrow upwards as Bobby spoke about the more recent troubles that had plagued the X-men and company. Her smile faded for a brief moment before she nodded and flashed a short lived smile. "Well glad to hear that everything has worked out more or less. I wanted to swing by and give everyone their belated presents. They're in the car. I got a rental from the airport. I'm not entirely sure how long I'm staying.." She murmured, and waved her luggage up toward the stairs with a wave of her hand.

"But I wanted to say hi and check in on everyone. Genosha is great and all.. but it is mostly just me trying to keep myself entertained. The charity work and all has kept me occupied over there."

Iceman has posed:
"Oh, you're not staying." There's just a mote of disappointment in Bobby's voice, before he shrugs it off. "Well, there's plenty of entertainment around here, if you just know what to look for." he admits with a small chuckle as he gestures. "I'll head out to the car if you want me to get the presents?" he asks curiously.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged lightly, "Not sure how long I'll be around, I've spent nearly a year in Genosha Bobby.. It.. It matters to me a lot. I can't just abandon it." She murmured, her voice soft and low. Still, she nodded to the door at his offer to pick up the presents. A small half smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she crossed her arms and glanced back to the door. She'd already shucked off her heavy winter jacket and hats, scarves, gloves.. Bobby didn't need those things.

"Sure, if you want to grab 'em. There's quite a few. The whole trunk actually, and some of the backs seat. And yes, there's a gift for you in there too." She added with a faint trace of amusement in her voice.

Iceman has posed:
"Hey, you're a Princess now, I can't expect you want to hang around with his scrubs." Bobby immediately uses humor to make the disappointment. "It's important to you, I can understand that." he admits as she talks about how full the car is of gifts and he laughs. "I uh.. maybe I should get a trolly to help gather all the stuff, then!" he says with a shrug of his shoulders and good-natured smile as he blinks. "Oh! Your present. I uh.. didn't expect you home, so I kinda.. mailed it to you?"

Which probably explains why it hasn't arrived yet. Or you know - he just forgot and is a doofus for it. "But!" With a wave of his hand, he creates a single rose made of ice between his hands. He's been working on his sculpting skills and it shows. "For you. Merry Christmas. Late and all."

Polaris has posed:
A small twitch of her lips followed Bobby's light hearted attempts to smooth over the awkward pieces of the conversation. She exhaled a soft breath tinged with laughter and slowly shook her head. "I don't think of myself as a Princess and really, I don't think anyone really thinks I am anyways." She muttered, a small roll of her eyes following. The sad truth was that, the more she rejected the concept, the more it stuck to her. People in Genosha //did// view her as a princess, and treated her as such, even when she'd rather it otherwise.

It was isolating.

The mention of getting a trolly made her grimace faintly, "Uhh, maybe two trips? I wanted to get everyone something. Or at least anyone that might be around. I planned to have been back for New Years.. but you know things go." She blinked as Bobby reached out a hand, forming a rose of ice and she grinned with a hint of a laugh.

"Aww, Bobby, that's so sweet." She took it, despite the burn of the ice against her finger tips. It was colder than the air outside, and her fingers were still chilled from it and only just now thawing in the warmth of the mansion.

Iceman has posed:
"Whoa, whoa, don't grab it. Still cold!" Bobby warns, noticing Lorna's wince when she took the rose. Thorns have nothing on freshly created ice, and he's well aware of it. Reaching to take it, his hands cover hers for a moment. Despite his mastery of ice, his hands are still warm. "I'll find something to put it in." he winks at her as he releases her hands to take the rose back for the moment.

"And then I'll start making trups back and forth to the car for the presents. We already took the tree down. New Year's and all that. But we'll find a way to make it work, even if I have to be your little delivery elf." There's a wink at her.

"So, got a boyfriend back in Genosha and all?"

Polaris has posed:
A wince, and another sheepish smile crossed her lips as Bobby pulled the rose back with a chiding tone. She bit her lower lip, rubbing her finger tips together to try to thaw them back into feeling again. "Sorry, I'm so used to Gensoha being hot and you know, tropical. Not entirely used to four feet of snow on the ground and freezing. I was on the beach yesterday and let me tell you, it's more than a little of a shock to come back to winter here in the States.." She drawled, and tucked her hands under her arms to arm them as subtle as she could.

The blunt question as to whether or not she had a boyfriend sparked a light blush to creep at the edges of her cheeks as she coughed and looked away.

"No. I mean.. seriously, do you think anyone would dare ask me out over there when I'm living at my father's? I mean.. most girls are worried their Dad might threaten a boy with a shot gun. My father.. has a bit more at his disposal these days.."

Iceman has posed:
There's a laugh at that. "Hey, I may be made for this type of weather, but I could totally love a beach." Bobby admits with a grin. "Alright. I'm going to go put this in the freezer." he holds up the rose, "And then get your gifts. And we can catch up later." Her comment about not having a boyfriend draws a laugh. "You just need someone that's willing to take that risk." he points out to Lorna with a wink, before he's heading off to let her get used to things back at the manse.
