Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Azrael, Carrie Kelley

Azrael has posed:
It's afternoon, the lull time between lunch and dinner, and so the few ustomers are easy to see. One of them is a man in his mid-20s, sitting at a table, a walking stick of polished wood next to him. Every time someone comes in or moves, he looks at them sharply, before going bak to his laptop, tapping at the keys.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
This was the time of day that Carrie liked best when it came to eating out. The crowds were thinned out, and she didn't have to feel quite so rushed when she was intending to just kick back and relax for a little while. With all that had been going on both in her personal life and her professional night time gig, she could use an afternoon to unwind just a little. The ginger haired woman nudges the door open with her shoulder, rolling step bringing her to the side just before it swings shut on her, and she continues on to the counter. From behind the lenses of her glasses she lets her gaze sweep over the establishment taking in those who were here before finally fixing her attention on the menu board. It was becoming habit to know her surroundings even in her off hours. A quick exchange occurs with the kid at the counter to order her food which she pays for in cash. Who even uses cash anymore these days? Then she grabs the tray with her burger, fries and drink to turn toward the room looking for a seat.

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley looks up sharply and narrows his eyes slightly at the young woman. Something a bit familiar? But still, she's looking for a seat, and so with Old World courtesy he stands up and gives a nod. "You're welcome to join me," he says, even though there are other tables ompletely empty.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
The offer does garner a lift of an eyebrow due to the fact that, yes, there were quite a few tables empty. Still... It was perhaps odd enough an offer that she flashes him a smile with a slight incline of her head. "Thank you. It's always more enjoyable eating with company." She moves to take the seat across from him favoring one side as she does so, as if it were a bit sore. Of course it's a smooth enough transition to the untrained eye as her weight shifts ever so slightly. "I take it by your accent that you aren't from around here."

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley nods. "Switzerland, originally, though I've been here for....fifteen years now?" He shakes his head, then smiles. "Valley, Jean-Paul, madamoiselle. May I know your name?" He shifts the computer to the side, clearing more space for her.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley ahs softly with a slow nod as he explains where he was from. Then the name comes. There's a slight flicker of recognition behind her green eyes, though it could simply be due to recogizing the origin of his accent now. "That explains it. I'm Carrie Kelley," she offers in response with hand extending to shake out of habit. "A pleasure to meet you."

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley takes the hand, but instead of shaking, he leans down to kiss the back of it. "And a delight, Mmle, Kelley." Hand reased, he starts to sit down. "And what brings you to this city of the supernatural?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley chuckles softly at the gesture though she accepts it with a nod. Settling back into her own seat she can only offer a small shrug in response to his question. "Sometimes it's nice to get away from home, even if it's only a short distance. Expands the horizons. Plus," she adds with a gesture toward the wrapped burger on her tray, "This is seriously some of the best burgers around. What about you? Is this where home is for you now? Or checking out some local legends like a lot of people are fond of?"

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley nods. "Home. I could not find a suitable place in Gotham," Jean-Paul says. "At least not one without memories of the past." He takes a bite of his own burger, onion rings, bacon, and bbq sauce on it. "As for the local legends, I am less skeptical than most, but I think the truth is somewhat different from what they say."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley can only nod in understanding. Her eyes dip downward to her own burger which she carefully unwraps. She'd gone for a basic, traditional cheese burger. Though this one was piled high with three types of cheese as well as the standard burger toppings of lettuce, tomato, and onion. "I've seen enough to know that there's truth out there with things. Honestly I don't think I'd come here at night unless I had to." For a moment she grows silent, frowning, only to shake her head sharply as she lifts her burger up to bite. It's eaten quickly so she can add, quietly, "I learned already not to go into houses people claim are haunted."

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley nods. "And vampires, well...I haven't heard of or met any werewolves yet." Jean-Paul pauses a moment, "At least that I know of. For my part I need to find the Ordinary for this See and ask about a parish priest."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley chews on the inside of her cheek as the topic goes to vampires. That was one of those situations she hadn't yet seen herself. Her thoughts on the matter were on hold as she was focusing her attention elsewhere lately. "Not sure on that one. I can't offer any advice. Last time I saw a priest..." She trails off trying to think. All she can do is shrug. "Actually not sure I remember. I didn't really have a family interested in religion. At least not the sort that didn't involve lots of money."

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley shrugs. "Haven't atually run into vampires here either. That was Manhattan, or at least the forensics worker thought that." A slight smile. "So are you at Gotham U then? What are you studying?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
That earns another little frown from Carrie. A quick glance darts around the room momentarily before she looks back with a shrug. "Yeah. I'm a theater and production student. I'm considering changing majors but for now that's what I'm working on as well as my requireds. Nothing special." Talk of vampires, and other things, has her quite on edge though. Another quick few bites are taken of her burger.

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley hmms. "Art is important. It helps remind us who we are, and show build us up to be better than we are. What are you thinking of changing it to? I was in the CSci program, but at some point people only are about what you actually code, rather than a degree."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley gives an absent shake of her head. "I don't know for certain yet. I just have a feeling I'm reaching the end of what I can do with what I already am doing. My interests are shifting elsewhere. I guess that's a part of growing up though." Looking down to her tray, she folds up the wrapper around the last few bites of her burger. It was a huge one compared to her. "Thank you for the conversation, and it was nice meeting you, but I should be on my way. I've a lot of things to do before tonight."

Azrael has posed:
Jean-Paul Valley nods. "Goodbye, then, Mlle. Kelley. I hope that you enjoy your plans for tonight."
