Cast of Characters: Shadowcat, Red Hood

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty called to see if that night would be a good time for her to come over. No, she didn't need the car service, she had a ride. In about the time it takes to drive from Westchester to Gotham then, a car pulls up at the brownstone. Pulling into the driveway. A beautiful green Bentley. Is Bruce come to call or someone else from the family?

Nope, it is Kitty. She gets out of the car, getting some bags from the car and heading for the door. She's wearing a long jacket that is buttoned up. She gets to the door, letting herself in assuming they have gotten to that point in their relationship. "Jason, I'm here," she calls out softly as she backs in, being careful to get the bags in through the door. A smell of Italian food will not be long in becoming noticeable near to her.

Red Hood has posed:
When Jason saw the car pull up, he pulled himself off the couch. Realizing it was Kitty, a brief frown crosses his face. Where did she get that? Is Bruce trying to push things along? Sneaking out of the back window as she comes inside, he uses the time alone to check into the car.

He did tell her that he used to do that stuff, right? It only takes a few moments to defeat the alarm system and get to the registration information. When he realizes it doesn't belong to Bruce, but to someone else, there's a brief since of relief. He doesn't want the old man butting in too much. However, he does take a few moments to appreciate the car -- before slipping his fingers beneath the right passenger wheel-well to attach a small bat tracking device. Just in case Kitty's ever in trouble.

Making his way back into the house from the garage after rubbing his hands over the cold engine of his bike, he pauses. "Kitty?" he asks in surprise. "I was just out working on the bike. I didn't hear you come in!" he says, heading into the kitchen to give her an armless kiss on the cheek. "Dirty hands, was out adjusting the carboureter on the motorcycle." he offers with a grin as he moves to wash his hands. "Something smells delicious - besides you."

Shadowcat has posed:
The name on the car registration was Anna-Marie Carlyle. And Kitty does indeed smell nice, wearing perfume that's noticeable enough when he's up close to her. "There you are!" she tells him, the brunette's face just lighting up like she had the sun in her pocket and it needed to release its warmth somewhere. "Wash up, I want a great big hug," she tells him through that beatific smile.

The coat slides off to reveal she's wearing something special, all in white. "And I don't want you getting dirt all over me," Kitty adds as she smiles over to him, getting that hopeful look that a girl gets when she hopes her boy appreciates the effort she went to, to look nice for him. "It's a little bit of a special occasion tonight," Kitty tells him.

She starts pulling out the food. An assortment of Italian food to pick from. "I got a job. And an advance on it that'll be enough to buy a car. I was thinking maybe we could go shopping for one in the morning, you could help me pick out something reliable?" Kitty asks as she gets the food ready.

Red Hood has posed:
"I'm washing, I'm washing!" Jason rumbles in playful retort as he heads to the sink to clean up. "You didn't exactly call ahead to tell me you were coming." he points out as she removes her coat, and Jason finds his jaw going slack as he drinks in the vision in white that his girlfriend is.

"I'm supposed to pay attention while you wear that?" he asks her playfully, as he works on scrubbing off his hands, and then gives his face a quick scrubbing. "You look amazing, Kitty." he admits, smiling fondly over at her as he glances at the table.

"Where did you get the job at?" he asks curiously, trying not to feel the hairs on the back of his neck rise up in concern. "And sure, I can help with a car. We're going to have to find one that's a bit reliable since you're going back and forth between here and Westchester. The loaner you have out there is great and all.. sorry, I peeked when I saw it in the driveway.." there's a sheepish smile at that, before he continues. "But as it gets up in miles, you're going to have some very expensive issues with it. Even an oil change won't be cheap."

Shadowcat has posed:
Jason knows just what to say. Kitty lights up so as he comments on what she picked out to wear for him tonight. She smiles, looking down as if looking over at him is going to make that smile grow to an uncontainable size otherwise. "Oh, you saw the Bentley?" Kitty says, looking towards the window.

"I know, right? I'm so tense driving it even. Anna-Marie offered it after I'd mentioned the travel situation. I mean... she tried to -give- it to me," Kitty says, shaking her head but her eyes filled with an obvious warmth for the other woman's generosity. "She was already looking at a new car, some souped up Charger a friend of hers rebuilt. I told her, it was just way too generous. But I accepted borrowing it until I could afford to get something of my own," Kitty tells Jason.

She moves over to him, waiting for his hands to be dry before moving into his arms and giving him a long, soft kiss. She looks up at him, her eyes just shining tonight radiantly. "So, the job? I was working with one of the Avengers on something to do with the Sentinels. Janet van Dyne. And I'm going to be doing some more technical work with them soon. I'd already decided I would let them know my identity. They know a lot about my team already, and Anna-Marie trusts them of course," Kitty says as she rests in Jason's arms.

"Oh, we got along like we'd known each other all of our lives. She remembered me from your father introducing me at the ball. So at one point I mentioned I was looking for freelance computer work so I could get a car. And she hired me on the spot. Forty thousand for three weeks work, though I have a month window for it, as I need to spend time on data analysis of the Sentinels," Kitty tells him. She grins. "She gave me half up front, so that should be enough for a used car I figure, a nice one that should still be reliable?"

Red Hood has posed:
Returning the kiss, Jason lingers for a moment before he pulls back. "Janet van Dyne. Huh. That sounds pretty awesome, even if it's working with the Sentinels stuff. I want you to be careful with that." he warns. "Trask may be an asshole, but he's no idiot. He finds someone tucking in too much info on his stuff, it won't be because you're a mutant that he's after you." he says, a frown gracing his features for a moment.

"I'm glad you felt comfortable with them though. Galina is still gushing over the upgrades you made to her armor." he responds as he gives Kitty an affectionate squeeze. And then he releaes her so that he can help set the table. "That's a pretty heft sum, Kitty." he offers with an impressed tone.

"What type of car are interested in? Something sporty? Reliable? Something that can take a beating? Something with a nice broad back seat." he winks at her with that last one as he glances himself over. "I feel like I'm way underdressed for this."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves to Jason's side, bumping against him lightly. "I don't expect clothing to be an issue for very long tonight," she tells him with a twinkle in her eyes. "While I'd love to have something sporty, I'm going to be practical. Something reliable, decent mileage, maybe enough room to seat you and I and a couple of friends?" Kitty says.

"It's sad how many thoughts I also had about... well, an old engine with no electronics so I won't break it if I have to phase through it. Or, something heavy enough a super villain can't just crush it easily," Kitty says, shaking her head and giving a soft grin. "Nah, really just something dependable. Maybe a small SUV if there's something that gets good enough mileage? Or if not, a sedan. Maybe down the road I'll get a motorcycle too," Kitty tells him. She reaches over, rubbing her hand up and down Jason's back. "I missed you," she tells him, leaning in to kiss him again softly.

Red Hood has posed:
"You keep kissing me like that, dinner is going to get cold." Jason warns Kitty playfully, swatting her lightly as he considers her. "So something reliable, heavy, old fashioned. Almost feel like I should be suggesting an old farm pickup." he says with a smirk as he starts to more seriously consider her request and needs.

"But you deserve something better than that. You are sleek and beautiful, and people would wonder if you were getting out of old Jim's farm truck." he chuckles, "We can discuss it more in the morning, if you want."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde gathers up a plate, putting some ravioli on it, some fetuccine alfredo, and something that has a lot of seafood with bowtie pasta. "Oh, I almost forgot," she says, getting a bottle of red wine out of the bag and smiling to him as she opens it up and pours two glasses. "Yes, we can forgo no-electronics and heavy and just get transportation, I think," she tells him.

Kitty moves over to take a seat. "Anything exciting been happening for you since the ball?" she asks him. Kitty starts to eat, but most of her attention is on Jason and their conversation.

Red Hood has posed:
"Nothing that's really worth talking about." Jason admits as he settles down to start to eat once Kitty has settled. Taking the bottle of wine, he moves to open it and pours them both a glass. "At least nothing as exciting as what you've had going on."

There's a smile cast in Kitty's direction. They've spent so much time on him, for tonight, it's her turn in the spotlight in every way that she wants. "So is getting the job the most important thing that's happened so far? You're not giving up counseling, are you?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde takes the offered wine glass with a grateful smile. She takes a sip and says, "Nothing worth talking about is not a bad thing," Kitty says. "Not given the state of affairs. Well. The Punisher reached out to me. Well, to Shadowcat. To discuss the Sentinels. I passed him a way to contact Galina. I know she was looking for sources for weapons," Kitty says.

"Counseling... it was never a career I was aiming for. Just something to do while I was taking the semester off from school," Kitty says with a little wave of a hand. "I'll still help out with it as I'm able, but not really focused on it as a job," she tells him.

There's a ring of the doorbell. "Ah! About time," Kitty says, jumping up. She goes over to the door and opens it. Sitting in front of it is a cat. A beautiful orange calico. How on earth did it ring the doorbell?

Kitty picks the cat up, moving it to rest on her shoulder. The cat immediately curls up about her neck, seeming to cling to her without sticking her with its claws as Kitty shuts the door. She walks over to Jason and says, "I wanted you to meet my favorite dragon. This is Lockheed," she tells him as she sits back down beside him. Kitty reaches up and works a control the cat's collar. The holographic image hiding Lockheed's true form drops away, revealing a small purple dragon.

Red Hood has posed:
"Getting involved with Punisher is a fine way to find yourself over your head in a mess, Kitty." Jason warns. "He's bad news. Even for me." he points out as he considers and sips from his wine. "Galina can handle herself - I still need to find out what she wants to do now that she's freelance. I don't mind her crashing at the cave - but she's going to eat all my vending machine junk food at some point."

Then she's up racing for the door. "Who was.." and she's returning with a cat, and he arches a brow. "Bruce is more a dog person.." he starts to say before Kitty turns off the collar and he finds himself staring at a small purple dragon.

"Hey." he manages, trying not to be shocked. "Kitty told me a lot about you. Though you're way smaller than the other dragon I met. I guess they make them smaller in space, huh?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Lockheed leans over and sniffs at Jason and then gives his shoulder a little nudge. "He does speak English, but very rarely talks," Kitty tells Jason. "His people are empathic so don't use speech to communicate." She reaches up and rubs her fingers along a ridge along his head by his horns. "He breathes fire and smoke. Really good flyer. Can carry me, even," Kitty says.

Lockheed nuzzles his head against her cheek for a minute, getting a soft giggle from the young woman. The dragon turns back to Jason, walking over and hopping onto Jason's shoulder if he allows. "He helped save me from a really bad set of aliens. A bunch of sleazoids called The Brood. I had thought he died there when the planet was destroyed. But he got onto our ship and came back to earth. And we've been best friends ever since," she says.

Kitty reaches over to squeeze Jason's hand. "Speaking of your dad, I called to clarify the car thing, that I was wanting to take him up on the martial arts, not the car. Haven't heard back yet," she says.

Red Hood has posed:
"You'll pardon me if I don't ask for many rides." Jason says with dry amusement, before Lockheed sniffs at him and hops over to his shoulder. "Does this mean you approve?" he asks the dragon with a lift of a brow. "Becuase I'm pretty sure I'm going to need your approval to date your pet." there's a wink at calling Kitty the pet, before offering Lockheed some of the shrimp.

Then there's a glance to Kitty, and he laughs. "You sure you can handle dating someone as down to earth as I am?" he asks. "I haven't done nearly the amount of things you've done that sound awesome and fantastic." Not that he's gotten much into all of that yet.

Shadowcat has posed:
Lockheed joyfully starts scarfing down the offered shrimp. Kitty smiles and tells Jason, "I think you got the seal of approval." She grins and then as Lockheed hops down to start eating off Kitty's plate, she leans over to slip a hand around the back of Jason's neck, to rest there as she kisses him tenderly.

Once the kiss ends, she tells him softly, "You're just the way I want you, Jason," she tells him softly. "And, it may sound awesome and fantastic. Some parts have been. But I'm leaving out a lot of the horror and struggling for our lives. Which I can share some time. But not tonight."

Her fingers brush over the back of his neck. "I've made it through a lot of really freaky stuff, and hard times. I know you were worried about me finding out some of the things you've been through. How I'd react. You're not going to drive me away, I promise you," she tells him. "I know it's tough, what you've been through. I've had some issues with having to fight that kind of darkness myself," she says, reaching over to squeeze his hand.

Red Hood has posed:
Squeezing Kitty's hand in kind, Jason chuckles as it seems that Lockheed is making short work of the meals that Kitty had spent preparing for them! "Hey!" he complains as Lockheed starts on his plate and grabs a buttterknife in a play to defend the plate and Kitty's honor!

Though that doesn't last too long when Kitty takes his hand and speaks to him. "We both have a lot to learn about each other as time goes on." He glances back to the table where the dragon has finished off their meals and is looking pleased as punch about it. "Think he's giving us a hint?"
