Date of Scene: 16 April 2019
Location: Woods near Xavier's School
Synopsis: Rogue, Lorna and Kitty fail to stop a student seance from turning into an abduction
Cast of Characters: Cyclops, Rogue, Polaris, Shadowcat

Cyclops has posed:
It's a moderately chilly night out behind the mansion, where a gaggle of the teenagers thought it would be funny to go out into the woods and have themselves a 'mutant' séance. A fantastic idea for five youngish teenagers to go out, unsupervised during these dangerous trying times in order to get their kicks and try and scare the pants off each other.

"Come on Billy, or are you such a scardy weeny that some sticks and shadows scare you."
    "HA-"
    "What a dork."
"Stop trying to peer pressure me. Miss Jean said you can't do that any more." Billy says with a sour face as he keeps up with the four other students a few steps behind.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue got pulled into spring cleaning stuff, she generally always got recruited for heavy lifting things around the school, mostly because of her strength but also because she rarely said no to it as she liked the exercise.

So from the roof of the west wing, some items are being thrown down into a roped off area where some of the students are meant to be keeping watch to keep others from walking underneath the raining down of some furniture that didn't survive the winter. The kids around this school have a tendancy of trashing stuff, after all, and it usually gets stowed up in parts of the multi-part attic. Ororo's room was on the western side of the attic sections, but the east is where the damaged stuff is usually stored.

A table drops down from the roof and slaps down onto the green grassy lawn, Rogue looks over the edge to make sure it dind't smoosh anyone.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna was constantly in and out of the Mansion. It was a jumping off point for her, a place to rest when she needed it. Rarely, had she been around in the past few weeks, called back to Genosha to help with her various duties there that she'd neglected in her stay State side. The green haired woman was returning from one of her various trips out in the city, the car door shutting gently behind her as she got out and stepped out onto the pavement with a click of her heels. The sound of broken furniture smashing not too far off caught her attention, and Lorna made her way around the back toward the site where Rogue tossed another large, heavy object over the side. Lorna blinked, her hands settling on the hips of her suit-pants as she arched a brow upward.

"Did someone piss you off, or are you helping someone break up with someone?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's closet is empty. Not of clothing, but of people. At least that is the case momentarily, before some of her shirts are slid to the side and the young woman steps out of a mirror affixed to the wall behind the clothing. Freshly returned from Narnia, as she's taken to calling her room in the Sanctum Santorum.

She straightens out the shirts and then steps out into her room, Lockheed riding on her shoulder. Kitty stretches and says to the dragon, "I'm thinking a bowl of cereal for dinner tonight, how about you?" He's in the mood for beef it seems, Kitty realizes empathically.

But before woman or dragon get their food, something goes hurtling past her window to crash on the ground. "Oh Lord, I hope that wasn't a student," Kitty says, going over and sticking her head out the window for a better look. Seeing the furniture debris below, Kitty phases herself and Lockheed, passing up through the ceiling and onto the roof. "Either it's Spring Cleaning, or Peter beat you at bowling," Kitty proclaims to Rogue when she sees the source of the hurtling bits of patio furniture. "Hey Lorna," she adds with a smile to the Genoshan princess.

Cyclops has posed:
Rogue might have heard Lorna's question, being several stories up and inside versus Lorna being on the grass outside where a group of teenagers were supposed to be standing. But no, they had snuck off before the first couch ever sailed through the air like a couch was never designed to do.

The five hooligans, had discovered an old board game hidden within the frame of the initial couch and decided to sneak off with it in order to play their juvenile games.

Rogue would have no idea they were gone, and Lorna would have no idea they were there in the first place, which leaves ... KEVIN!

Kitty, Kitty is the remaining adult that could have insight to begin the impromptu rescue to the situation that unfolds deeper in the woods, but she was in the magical world of Stephen's house. While in the forrest, the five kids find a secluded grove and settle down, Billy the only one being reluctant, sits anyways and they all begin to loom over the board game and start to reach out for the pieces. Piece.

    "There's only one... "
"It's old, it's probably missing pieces from when Pee-oh-tor and Kitty used to play it."
    "Haha. Nerds."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's wearing a pair of jean shorts and black fishnets beneath it, not just because they're hot af on her but also because they help keep her skin safely hidden while also nicely unheated by the warming weather outside. She's also got a light green tshirt on and a pair of gloves tucked into the back pocket on the right side of her shirt. She glances down to Lorna and waves a bare hand down at her.

"Hey!" She calls down to her. "Did you see where those damn kids went?" She asks. "They were supposed t'be watchin' me do this stuff!"

Rogue TOTALLY JUMPS when Kitty appears. She may be mostly invulnerable, but god damn, she's still a person who's afraid of ghosts!

"Jeezus." She says as Kitty is just 'there'. Then she laughs, which sounds more like a hot and heavy breathing session mixed with a laugh before she just points outside down to the lawn, once, then does it again. "Throwin' the broken furniture out, think I almost just crushed a Princess. Hopin' she doesn't kill me now."

Her hands then go to her hips and she grins all proudly as she wiggles her waist side to side. Peering outside once more. "I'm gonna come down there and kick those kids asses." She says outside.

Polaris has posed:
A blink and Lorna stepped sharply back as Rogue tossed whatever it was she'd had a grip on down. She glanced around once as Rogue called down a greeting and spoke about kids that were supposed to do look out duty. She shrugged, "There's no one here. My guess is they ran off the moment your back was turned." She made a face at the broken mess of furniture and back at the horizon where the sun had started to dip below the tree line.

It was getting warmer out, sure, but when the wind blew and the shade took over it was still worthy of a jacket. Particularly to the tropical island Princess.

Then there was Kitty, and Lorna nearly jumped reflexively as Rogue did, her heart beat a moment faster briefly and she sucked in a breath, before she laughed. "Hey Kitty. Seen some wayward students? They apparently took off on Rogue." She called up.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty can't help but grin as she surprised Anna-Marie. Not that she was intending to. But it's funny. "Jesus? Come on now, maybe Moses or Abraham. But me? Jesus?" Kitty says, holding up her Star of David pendant from her necklace as if Anna-Marie needs the reminder of her religion. Though the grin on her face makes it an obvious joke with her old roomie.

Kitty looks back down below to where Lorna is on the lawn. "No, I haven't. I just got in from New York," she replies. Kitty glances about. "After curfew too. If they aren't inside, Scott's going to have a kitten. Oh wait! He already HAS a kitten!" she declares. She asks which students and then says, "I'll check inside for them." She leaves Lockheed to go land on Rogue's shoulder while Kitty sinks back into the school to check for them. They'd better be inside. If not, the hunt will be on!

Cyclops has posed:
    The kids. Aren't. Inside!

The kids are doubling down on the troublemaker path, having left their post as Rogue's measuring sticks, and leaving out during curfew. All anyone knows is that they might be better off with a Sentinel finding them instead of Scott hearing about this.

The kids themselves however, are seated around an 'old' board game with a single piece and a large board.
"This is dumb, come on guys we need to be going back. I don't want to get into trouble."
Billy groans and moans as he still is peer pressured into putting his hand on the large piece like all the other cool students are doing.

"Shut up and play the game Billy."
Billy quietly closes his eyes and starts to do what he's told.

The mansion would hear a scream. Loud, high pitched but wavering. It's not one screamer. The hollar is piercing, like the scream a lost child would make. There's no reason to keep looking inside. There's something outside and it needs.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks down to Lorna and just huffs out a heavy sigh. "I'll come down there in a second. Damn these guys don't ever listen to a word anyone ever says t'em!" She shouts before she glances back to Kitty to see her going off to check.

When Lockheed lands on her shoulder Rogue recoils a bit, because its just a bit unusual for her. She then flashes the dragon a big grin and reaches up with a bare hand to pet the top of his head. "Heya, Handsome." She says to the dragon, not fearful of absorbing it because its not a human or mutant, so its safe from her wrath. "Might need ya t'go do a round about out there, see if ya can't track these kids."

When Kitty returns, Rogue is about to say something to her when the shout happens. She does a double take... then moves to shoot outside and lunge into full flight mode!

Polaris has posed:
Lorna crossed her arms as she tsk'ed under her breath as the news about the little miscreant children continues. It was bad when Scott caught students misbehaving, he had mastered that 'I'm disappointed' look in Lorna's opinion. But having her, Rogue and Kitty track them down? It would definitely serve as a learning moment, particularly in which Lorna learned how to handle misbehaving children. It was so beyond her scope of dealing with things. Diplomacy? Check. Dealing with run away students? Eh...

The green haired mutant tapped her toe against the pavement, a click of her dress shoes following as she glanced around with a frown.

Anything else was broken off at the scream and she shared a brief look in Rogue's direction before taking off into the sky to follow with a curse.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde peers about in the main rooms, as well as asking a few students if the others have been seen. When they haven't she ghosts back up through the ceiling to the roof. "No sign of them," Kitty confirms. "If you want I can put out the Logan call and let him find them. You know... shout 'Hockey! Hockey and free beer!'," Kitty says.

But then the sound of the scream robs Kitty of all of her jocularity. "Crap," she says. Lockheed is already lifting off of Rogue's shoulder as she takes off flying. Kitty runs along the rooftop in the direction the scream seemed to come from. She jumps off the roof without hesitation, one arm held above her. The small purple dragon swoops in, grabbing her hand in his claws as Lockheed flies her out towards the woods. He's a swift flyer, but while carrying Kitty he will fall behind Rogue and Lorna.

"Never a dull moment," Kitty says like she were just wishing for a dull moment sometime.

Cyclops has posed:
Still in the grove of trees, the five students are all trapped, held in a shimmering clear oil, or dish soap like bubble with Billy still holding his hands onto the piece of the game in the middle of the large sphere that seems to be barely even there, but it is. As none of the kids can actually leave. From the outside, it looks like nothing, but from the inside, the five kids are slowly fading, their phsyical bodies beginning to turn translucent. The four kids are freaking out, but with Billy being still and the four banging their fading hands against the shimmer.

Rogue has posed:
With the sun setting over the trees, and Rogue now air borne, there's still light but its going to get harder to see real fast. She's above the backyard now and scanning over the friends with her, she glances back to see Lockheed carrying Kitty which surprises her, she didn't know the Dragon had that much strength in his flight.

But soon she's over where the boys had slipped into the woods, they hadn't gotten THAT far into that grove. "What the hell." Rogue mutters as she starts to descend in their direction, soon to land on the grass on her booted feet with a slight trot to her step!

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flew sharp and fast on the magnetic currents with Rogue alongside. She hadn't put much thought into 'how to get Kitty to come with'. She was flying on emergency reactions. On there wa a scream and someone might be hurt or dying reaction time. When she landed, her hands were up, the metal of her jewelry already melted into something that looked more like a weapon than the previous accessories of bracelets, necklace and chain belt. She stood with the metal floating out about her, blazer fluttering about her and her heels digging into the soil of the wooded ground beneath.

Her eyes went wide as she stared at the chaos of fading children and oily bubble. She didn't wait, throwing out the metal gathered before her to swing it at the glistening sheen of whatever it was that surrounded the wayward students.

Shadowcat has posed:
Phasing all but Kitty's hand allows Lockheed to keep up, the weight load much reduced. Soon he drops off Kitty, who walks down the last few steps through the air to the ground, while Lockheed flies about the shimmering globe. "Ah... what you said," Kitty mutters in agreement with Rogue. She moves in a circle about the shimmering area, a look of alarm on the makeshift guidance counselor's face.

Kitty observes what is going on inside before saying, "Billy's not trying to get out like the rest. What is that he has?" she asks, as she tries to peer at it.

"Is that a ouija board?" Kitty asks as she tries to peer through the distortion of the spherical barrier. "Billy! Let go of what you have!" she calls out. She looks to the kids who are pounding on the barrier. "Get him to let go!" she calls to them, pointing towards the boy in the middle to try to direct them in case they cannot hear her. Which seems likely if she cannot hear them.

Cyclops has posed:
The boys inside are all terrified beyond belief and they all flock towards the women, trying, screaming against the shimmer and pounding their fists against the oily slick interior of the event.

Lorna however could feel the metal within the sphere, and the vibrations there in, making her able to be aware of what was going on inside the dome but that isn't much help at the moment.

"Oh. It's you again." Says a voice from above X-women. A woman wearing a black zip up hoodie with metal draw chain hanging from her shoulders as the hood is left down. She smiles and sits on top of the orb she seems to be in control of and crosses her legs. The bright orange skirt she wears matches her flame like hair. The woman crosses her legs to bounce atop the half sphere a few feet above the trio. "They can't hear you right now, but good try." The woman smiles and winces sarcastically as the metal strike glances off the sphere. "Not bad your highness, but that's not going to work." The red head explains as she keeps sitting and points at Lorna. "These children are mine. For now dears. But. I will give you a chance to save them. That is what you girls like to do, right?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue glances over to Lorna and Kitty as they're both right there with her now. But her eyes are quick to dart up to this woman sitting on the bubble. She glares at her, because well... everything she just said made Anna-Marie not like her, not like her ooooone bit.

In fact her bare hands ball up into fists at her sides and she's quick to dart her eyues over to her friends with her. "Kitty, go get the kids." She says. "Lorna... wrap this bitch up in some metal while I go t'town on her face." Thats her team leader orders, if she were a team leader, which she's definitely NOT at age 20. But what other Leaders are around any way?! NONE

Rogue launches into the air on a direct fist-out punching course for this woman's nose to help distract her so Shadowcat can hopefully grab the kids out of the bubble.

Polaris has posed:
There were times that Lorna desperately wished she was physically powerful. The kind that could punch and hit and be that tank that was Rogue. This was one of those times. As soon as she'd tested the strength of the oily looking barrier with the metal, she pulled at the metal inside to press against the interior. All the while the bulk of her attention swung toward the red haired woman that gave off the ultimate, drive in the green haired mutant to want to punch her in the face.

There would be no negotiations. Not as Rogue spoke and gave orders, because she was already acting on them. She snarled, swinging the now liquified metal at the woman in question, hoping to ensnare her with a steel alloy that behaved more like a whip under Polaris' direction.

And should that fail? There was always straight magnetic blasts.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves forward and reaches her hands out towards the sphere near where one of the students is. Her hands stop on the sphere as if it - and Kitty - were both solid. Swearing under her breath something that would have had Captain America saying, "Language!" if he were here, Kitty ducks under the ground far enough to feel forward. Apparently the magic sphere extends underground as well.

Kitty rises back up. Meanwhile Lockheed is circling about overhead. Kitty can sense the dragon wanting to engulf the woman in an inferno of fire, but shakes her head towards the dragon as she waits to see how Rogue and Lorna fair first, and instead points to the bubble. Lockheed flies down, hovering before a spot where the kids are not, and begins blowing a steady plume of flame at the sphere, trying to break through it.

Cyclops has posed:
Rogue's punch lands against a single finger of the woman. She lifted her hand and held out her pointer finger to stop Rogue's full on punch, and with her spare hand, the woman lifts it to her face to obscure the yawn she had wash across her by the trio of women. The finger felt like a wall. A wall is something might remember from before she took Carol's powers as something so solid she couldn't possibly punch through it or even damage it. A sensation the mutant likely hasn't felt in years.

The metal inside the sphere does what Lorna commands and it presses against the bubble, but something isn't right. There's not quite enough of it in there. Like the rest of the woods around them and nothing else, no instead it's like the boys aren't even in there. They're not.

The metal whips lashing out towards the woman turn into rose petals and flutter to the ground the moment a single piece of metal touches the woman or her clothes. "That wont do. I expected more from the three of you, but you know what they say. Never meet your heroines." The woman shrugs and with a wave of her hand that was obscuring her mouth, she winks. "I'll be seeing you all soon enough." She winks and the whole of her and the shimmer along with the students vanish into a whisp of pinkish smoke that dissipates into the ether not long after the woman and her victims.

Rogue has posed:
It is a very unusual experience for Rogue's punch to not land, so much so that she'd expected to hit this woman hard enough to knock her off the bubble, but not actually kill her. Rogue WAS trained not to kill after all. So she suddenly finds her fist BOUNCING off of the woman's finger, which sends her flying a bit out of control with her body whirling around and around before she re-stabilizes herself and is now several feet away from the woman to watch the others seemingly have similar issues.

When their foe suddenly vanishes WITH their students, Rogue gasps and then shouts in frustration! "What the hell was that?!" She screams out to anyone and everyone before her flight power deactivates and she drops 30 or so feet to land on her boots with a thud, looking around for any other signs of information about any of this.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna snarled, anger hot and temper flaring at the woman that spoke and acted without a care as she threatened their students. Their students. Mutants. Kids. They needed to be protected and they were slipping away //right// there. Lorna had spent the past year training under her father, growing, becoming more powerful. And with that... had a sense of responsibility drilled into her for protecting mutants above and beyond what Xavier's had instilled in her over the years. It was almost a gut reaction, that rose in her powers as the magnetism flared and she bit back a scream of complete and utter frustration as the last of her metal vanished into flower petals.

She launched a concussive blast of raw power, throwing in all her anger, her gut-wrenching fear for the children, and her rising panic in all at once. Just as the woman vanished without a trace. A blast of dirt and soil blasted away under her power, flaring up and raining down on the three women as Rogue screamed much the same sentiments Lorna had.

The green haired woman sank to her knees, panting for breath and loudly cursed, slamming her hands against the ground in frustration. Not a single thought given toward the now stained silk suit-pants she'd been wearing.

Shadowcat has posed:
As the shimmer turns to smoke, Kitty reaches forward, trying to grab one of the students and hopefully phase them away before whatever magic is going on can take hold of them. Only her hands come up with empty, causing Kitty to clench them into fists and let out a cry of frustration and anger.

The sound of heavy footfalls can be heard coming through the forest. Someone running, then stumbling and a male voice giving a soft, "Oof!" Then the sound of the running resumes. A chubby student comes around one of the trees, his shirt bearing dirt and bits of dead vegetation where he fell. "I heard someone scream," Hambone says.

Kitty is busy searching the area where Billy was, looking for any sign of what he had been handling. Perhaps Illyana could make sense of it.
