Changeling: Everything's Fine Here. How Are You
Date of Scene: 08 May 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: In which SHIELD agents go on a mission to steal data and come back with a plane.
Cast of Characters: Hawkeye (Barton), Winter Soldier, Quake, Black Widow (Romanoff)

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
On the books this was a training mission. Just a chance for Skye to work through piloting assessment in the airspace above the sunny Caribbean. Of course that was because the books weren't books anymore they were files, and those files were being watched by one Armin Zola.

Off the books, the mission was something else entirely. Hydra had parked some big VTOL jet, in Cuba, one that intel said belonged to Zola's tentacle of the organization; apparently part of some snatch-and-grab operation they had going on. The plan was straightforward, infiltrate the old Cold War era facility where the plane was parked in and steal the data from the plane's navigation computer without being detected. Once that was done, the gloves were off, if Hydra simply thought SHIELD was there to launch an attack or destroy the plane, so much the better, as long as they had no idea SHIELD had the data that could lead them to Zola's hidden base.

The quinjet that Clint and Skye took out for the 'training hop' was one of the new ones, refractive panels making it able to cloak from view and a suite of cutting-edge stealth gear keeping it off the radar as well. Inside was equally well stocked, with gear, a few Hydra uniforms, oh, and two former Russian operatives, that were according to the books, nowhere near this training flight: Black Widow and Winter Soldier.

Along with all the toys were plans for the base, a hanger facility built into mountain, meant to survive nuclear attack and in this case keep the plane of satellite imagery. There was a backdoor part way up the mountain, a traditional big hanger door up front, and the rooftop door to let the plane lift straight up and out if it wanted to. And of course, the base is crawling with Hydra, as smaller Hydra Quadcopters, come and go from the base.

From the co-pilot's seat, Clint is watching the scopes while Skye flies. "We're coming up on the base now, you guys have an infiltration plan yet or are you winging it?" he asks the team. Clint for his part would be staying with the jet to provide emergency exfiltration if needed. Besides, any more people would just draw unneeded attention their way.

Winter Soldier has posed:
It's like the old days - Winter as expressive as a concrete block. But Natasha knows well the subtleties of expression he's capable of, and the gleam in the pale eyes is familiar. Someone is very, very eager indeed to start whooping up on the HYDRA minions. "They gotta know I'm off rez by now, right? Or would it be worth pretending that I'm the one driving and bringing you guys in?"

Quake has posed:
Skye had practiced till she'd thought she could do this in her sleep. It might be a 'training' mission, but it still was an actual official flight practical. Which meant two things: she didn't want to fuck up. And May wouldn't let her off base if she thought the girl were going to fail at this. Not that this helped Skye nerves one bit.

Still, once they'd done the initial checklist and she'd cleared base for go ahead it had been smooth sailing. Or, smooth flying. Turns out all those sims had done their job. That, and with both Clint and Nat on board, even if she fucked up majorly there was adequate backup.

"Infiltration wasn't my department," Skye says with a smirk. "I'm transport."

Total lie, but yeah, she wasn't senior on the infiltration bit.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Doing a third check on her weapons, Natasha considers her partner in the back. Since Clint has to evaluate Skye, although that works she's not sure. "Might be a good option. Is there enough info in the computer systems for it to be common knowledge among them?" she asks those who actually saw the data.

She goes back to checking all of her weapons. Third time is the charm, as they say.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Up to you guys," Clint calls back from the front of the jet.

Then nodding to Skye, he points to a clearing on the scopes, "Might be a good spot to land," he says. It wasn't far from the base but was out of the way of any of their patrols. "Good flight over by the way," he adds to Skye. "Didn't have to reach for my barf bag once."

Quake has posed:
"Oh, you are sooo nice," Skye says calmly, but with a clear enough touch of her sardonic that it's clear she's getting her own back. "Everyone buckle up, we're going in for a landing."

While buckling up might not be a necessity under all circumstances, given this is one of her first landings, it might be practical this time. As for the practical of how they go about setting up this little gig - "They likely know. Not like we could keep Zola out of shit. They might not know how far off res. Might still be worth pretending depending on how far down the chain that info is expected to have travelled."

If this were the boonies so to speak, they might not be high enough up on the food chain to have gotten the most recent Bucky isn't ours anymore reports.

Winter Soldier has posed:
"It'll be like that movie with the guy with the laser sword," Buck offers, "And the big furry guy, y'know? If we make it look like I caught you all - could pretend to be unconscious, or...." Now he's looking around, rummaging in the back. "Restraints. Especially....Skye, they've tried to recruit you. Here, lemme on the horn. See if the passcodes I've got still work. It's an older code, but it checks out, right?" Someone's made him watch the entire original trilogy, it seems.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"You want to use Star Wars as the guideline for our attack?" Natasha has to ask, looking up from the machine gun she has in hand and was checking the magazine on. Never clip. Always magazine. She shakes her head a bit. "Who showed those movies to you?" she asks before actually considering it.

"It might work though. But...well, we would have to make it look real which means either shot or bloody. If the codes work, you need to get a few shots in to sell it." She doesn't seem worried at the idea but she does look to the two up front, hoping they get what she means.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Clint sticks his tongue out at Skye, then leaves her alone to land the thing in that clearing.

"Wasn't me!" Clint says of exposing Bucky to Star Wars, because well that was a Clint thing to do. "I just tried to convince him Inglorious Basterds was how the war really ended," not really, but that was another Clint move.

When Bucky asks to be let on the 'horn', Clint coughs up the comms controls to Bucky, nodding to the navigator's stations behind the cockpit. "Give it a go, but Skye's right, they might know, if so I can try to jam communications once you're inside. Stop them from calling home."

Quake has posed:
"Totally not me!" Skye chimes in, though pop-culture nerd she is, she's seen them.

"So, what you're saying, Bucky, is you want to shoot us?" Because he's right, she's on the most wanted list - a total bee in Zola's bonnet. They're basing a whole wing of their final attack on that premise. And if you toss in Natasha? *soft wolf whistle* Yeah, that's a prize. They might even forget to check up on Bucky for that kinda loot.

"What do the rest of you think?" Then, leaning closer to Clint, "How much did that ICER thing hurt anyway?" Contemplating how payback might be an overdue bitch.

Winter Soldier has posed:
"No. You come in as a conscious recruit," he says, before looking between Clint and Nat. "You two wanna be the Wookiees? We can bring you in conscious and restrained, or semi-conscious. I bet if I smash an ICER round and get the residue on you, it'll pass muster. Unless you wanna go full metal jacket on this and have me ice you for real."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Clint leans over to Skye, "Not too bad, well, until I woke up, then the headache sucked," he supplies with a shrug. No hard feelings though. It was ages ago, and hey, it's SHIELD, the job came with little complications like being shot by your girlfriend for the greater good.

"Nah, last time they tried to take Skye, she huffed and they puffed and blew their base down," Clint says. "Don't think they'll buy she turned, but a captive though? Sure, they'd probably wet them to have her and Black Widow."

"Anyhow, I am going to skip Wookie duty, someone needs to be at the controls here to get you guys out if this goes bad," he says. "Too many top agents to lose in one go."

Yes, Clint was being responsible right now. Probably a sign of the apocolypse.

Quake has posed:
Skye really hasn't talked much about what happened when they had her.

"They tried," she says quietly. "I'm not a convert. They won't buy that. It's in chains or nothing."

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Either or," Natasha says. She's fine with the ICER, she's fine with getting punched a couple of times. Whatever it takes for it to be convincing. "They know you like to work alone mostly so they wouldn't buy one Hydra agent with you bringing in the prisoner. So two prisoners it needs to be."

All those weapons she just checked? She starts taking them back off and setting them down for Bucky to collect depending on which option he chooses. Fake the round by smashing it or something more realistic. She even takes off her wristbands.

Winter Soldier has posed:
"A'right. Two and two, then," Buck says. "Barton, you're some random HYDRA goon pilot then, I guess. Ladies, you're my prisoners. One of you may have to be dragged, if we're gonna have you both pretending to be unconscious." He's already pulling an ICER round out of a magazine.....and carefully crushing it within metal fingers. All the better to paste someone's clothes with, and make it look as if that's how he brought them down.

That taken care of, he's silently counting down to opening the comms channel, using his ordinary fingers. 3...2...1...he's even got Winter's deadpan though the link likely isn't visual. Getting into character? "HYDRA base, HYDRA base, this is Winter Soldier. Do you copy? Over."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Good landing," Clint offers to Skye belatedly with a grin.

As Bucky lays things out understanding dawns on Clint's face.. "Oh I get you," Clint says getting out of his seat to pull on a Hydra uniform so he looked the part in case anyone checked out the quinjet while it was parked. "We're moving the jet to the base. That makes sense." Definitely made for a quicker exfiltration.

As for the radio, there's a brief pause after Bucky puts out the call. "Transmission recieved Winter Soldier, please code in."

Winter Soldier has posed:
This had better not be where his memory fails him. No hesitation as he replies, "Response: Everest." Not a flicker in the blue eyes.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Another pause. Likely somewhere there was a Hydra radio tech telling his superior: 'It's an older code, sir, but it checks out.'

The radio crackles to life again: "Accepted Winter Soldier. State the nature of your request."

Winter Soldier has posed:
"Delivery of captives. Romanova, Natasha Alianovna. SHIELD 084, human, designate Johnson." Flat as a plate, that recitation.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Hearing that portion, Natasha can't help but look forward. He's in Winter Soldier mode. Cold as Siberia. That is the Bucky she is used to. Not the one telling his dog 'who's a good girl?' which had almost caused an incident in the gym.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Cue the celebration at the base control room.

"Understood, Winter Soldier, you're cleared for immediate landing, we'll have a team waiting for you and your prisoners," he the radio tech reports.

"So?" Clint asks pulling the green and yellow Hydra tunic on and moving back to the cockpit.

Quake has posed:
"So?" Skye sits back and frowns. "So, who gets shot and who gets beat up. And we all know this is a trap, right?"

Because man does she have a bad feeling about this, but it's not like they can turn around now. They need the data and if it is a trap, it's already been sprung. No matter how you look at it, the only way out is through.

Winter Soldier has posed:
"You're our ride, Barton," Buck reminds him. "Skye, here," And there's a smear of ICER residue for the front of her shirt. Not enough to actually take her down, but enough so it's clear she's been hit. "Hit the deck. I'll carry you." Natasha.....she gets an apologetic look. "Roll with it, Alianovna?" he asks her, tone a hair sheepish. "Mind if I give you a puffy lip or so?" She was his partner for so long, for so many missions. She'll be able to gauge it in such a way to look convincingly injured.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I'll make it easy on you." Natasha could just take up a position in front of him. Instead, She suddenly swings on her old instructor. She isn't going all out, it is actually for a reason. It's so that her body is in the right position to take the blow, to make it more realistic when she takes the hit.

Considering the training they did together when she was in the Red Room, this is like a walk in the park. Just might not look like it to an outsider.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Sounds like you're getting 'ICERed'," Clint says to Skye finger quoting the ICER part. Though more seriously, he leans over to give her a quick kiss, "Try not to die, okay?"

Then when that little PDA is done, Clint nods to Bucky and pulls on his Hydra mask and giving the man a jaunty salute, "Hail Hydra," he says, as he takes over for Skye at the controls and gets them back in the air.

Though when Nat swings at Bucky, Clint shakes his head looking to Skye, "Tell them if they don't settle down back there, I'm turning this quinjet right around."

Quake has posed:
Clint gets a smirk, and a quick kiss back. "They tried that already, remember? I'm tough. You take take of you and be here ready to lift off when we come running." Signing ~Love you~ before mussing up her hair some and throwing herself onto the ground all ready to be a prisoner. For some value of throw.

Winter Soldier has posed:
He takes it, square in the face....and hits her back. Hard enough to tell, and with the metal hand. Poor Natasha. Now they'll both have bruises visible enough to sell the story. "I'm going to ziptie you, but loose enough," Did they ever do this ruse before? Is this their version of 'Get Help'? Quite likely.

Then he's bending and hoisting Skye in an over the shoulder carry, lightly as if she were a child. Not often the full super-soldier strength is on display.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
That metal arm hurts, even when he isn't hitting as hard as he can. Natasha staggers back and goes down on one knee. If it had been full force, she would've flown a few feet and crashed into a wall. Getting to her feet, she wipes her lip and the large spot is already showing on her cheek. She'll likely have a shiner from this too.

She walks back over to him, turning backwards and putting her hands behind her. Cuffing in the front was never done for a dangerous prisoner. "Of course. You know how to do it." It's convincing enough for someone even testing the wraps but, due to some extreme training, she will be able to slip them when the time comes. It will involve dislocating a thumb but that's easy enough. "Don't forget my toys."

She fully expects him to have her wristbands and Glocks when the time comes.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
~Love you~ Clint signs back, flinching as Skye hits the floor.

The trip is a short one, even with Clint circling around to suggest they'd been coming from New York and no from some nearby clearing. When they are over the base, Clint drops the cloaking, the quinjet shimmering into view over the heads of the Hydra techs milling about below.

"No," he tells himself as his finger drifts towards the trigger of the ship's guns and instead he brings the thing down slow, turned so the guns and the missles in the wings were turned towards the open hanger.

"Welcoming comittee inbound."

It's an ecclectic one, a bookish man is in the lead, dressed in a black labcoat with the Hydra logo in white on the left breast. Not Zola, but likely one of his people. With him are the usual five man squad of Hydra goons and two others. A man, Skye may recognize from her captivity, Kowalski, one of the soldier types working for Zola, though he looks different now, his skin is pale and it's shot through with vein like black lines, the woman beside him is plain, but carries herself with confidence.

They approach the ramp when lowered, the scientist speaking first, "Greetings Winter Soldier, your arrival is a surprise, but a welcome one. Especially with such gifts."

He turns to the rest of his party, "Kowalski, Walsh," he says, to the man and women. "Help the Winter Soldier and his prisoners to the plane."

"Obsidian," Kowalski says stepping forward. "It's /Obsidian/ now," he looks to Bucky nods to Skye. "I'll take her," he says. "Walsh take the Widow."

Walsh nods, "Happy to comply."

She moves forward to take charge of Natasha.

Winter Soldier has posed:
He's definitely retained her weapons - Nat may be deadly with nothing but hands and feet, but her gear is icing on that deadliest of cakes, so to speak. But the ladies themselves he hands off without a qualm. Still utterly deadpan, looking to the apparent scientist without question. Plane it is....where-ever they're going.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Plane? It would be much better if they were going into the base but Natasha complies. She looks over Walsh as she approaches, giving her the once over and evaluating her skill levels by posture, movements and even the way her knuckles have seen a lot of action at some point and a few of them broken enough times to be flat. The woman knows combat. This might just get interesting.

She doesn't make a break for it. She doesn't do more than fall into step although she does tug away a little, as any good prisoner would when being escorted against their will. She will await the signal.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
They lead the group to the plane a couple of the Hydra goons remaining behind to secure the quinjet and question Clint.

The plane parked inside the underground hanger, looks every bit like a stealth bomber had a baby with Red Skull's Valkyrie (https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Valkyrie_(Vehicle) ), providing a stark contrast to the base's Cold War Russian aesthetic. It's also their target, home to the nav data they need to find the base.

That said, once aboard, there are men waiting in the main cargo bay, next to cryopods, the sort that Bucky would be familiar with, three in total, with three more being already full.

The Scientist slows his pace, letting the soldiers take the lead, falling further and further back.

If that didn't scream trap, then when "Obsidian" gestures with a hand and black rift opens under Bucky's feet, the game is pretty much up.

On Kowalski's cue Walsh takes a swing at Nat. Skye, is still in Obsidian's grip, the unconcious act, apparently bought hook line and sinker.

Quake has posed:
Well isn't this all just peachy keen. Seriously, if two out of three aren't what they seem, don't you think the third isn't either? Bad planning, boys! But hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right?

But you can stare them down and blast them with a concussive wave of air at Kowalski - since neither they, nor Obsidian are paying any attention to her. Obsidian she'll deal with in a moment.

Winter Soldier has posed:
He's selling it to the last possible moment. Let them think the programming was reactivated, that he's their docile little puppet again. Until Obsidian's trying his little tricks, and it's apparently showtime.

Buck somehow manages to dodge the portal cast at his feet, whereupon he's turning in one smooth motion and unleashing one of the Widow's bites on the new Inhuman. He knows that sting all too well himself, let's see how they like it. EVen in the turn, he's reaching for the Skorpion that rides just below his nape. There may be mutants, but odds are good some of these goons will succumb to bullets. His expression is still Winter's - a kindof absented calm, only half-present.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Nat ducks the Inhuman's swing, comes up and is about to kick when Skye's blast knocks her opponent into the wall with a thud. The former assassin, gives Skye a nod, draws her glocks and empties rounds into the Inhuman. Only to see them flatten against her body.

Nat curses in Russian as the Inhuman rushes at her.

As for Obsidian? He's startled by Skye's sudden awareness and even more so by the Widow Bite bucky throws his way. The man convulses, dropping Skye before he himself hits the ground as the Winter Soldier opens fire at the rest of the guards.

Those men were execting a fight but not to be on the back foot already, two of the three goe down quick before the third grabs the Scientist and ducks for cover.

No doubt, reinforcements will be coming and soon.

Quake has posed:
Much as she'd like to be the brick in this scenario, someone has to get the data they need, and while any of the three of them could do it, she's closest and has the least amount of active bad guys around her. Skye, monitoring by sound and vibration, the oncoming of any reinforcements, makes for the nearest computer to download what they need. Bucky and Nat can deal with the others. And if they can't? Well, then Quake shall show them how she earned her name.

Winter Soldier has posed:
It's the old deadly pas de deux, Winter and Widow, moving in concert. Another Bite, this one intended for Walsh, since it seems mere bullets will do her no harm. The Skorpion chatters, a spray of rounds for Obsidian - is he bulletproof, too? An upnod for Skye - Buck will keep them occupied, while she gets what they need. He hasn't bothered to stop and inspect the other inhabitants of the cryopods.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The Widow's Bite barely slows Walsh as she rushes at Widow, though Widow twists at the last moment escaping Walsh's grasp as spins and hits the woman with three more Stings. Eletricity arcs across Walsh's back but the woman is still standing.

Obsidian is less lucky. He's very much not bullet proof three rounds thud into his flesh before a pool of black opens up beneath him swallowing him whole... Not creepy.

The last guard tries to grab the scientist to pull him out of the plane and towards the advancing line of reinforcements.

Meanwhile the computer terminal fires up quickly and the code on it is by now very familiar to Skye and has Zola's fingerprints all over it, with plenty of traps to alert him to any intrusion. Though, there's a path to the nav data, with only two traps to disarm to get there.

Winter Soldier has posed:
Oh, no, they don't. Satisfied that Widow can keep Walsh occupied, Buck's turning that cold regard on the scientist and the last guard. He trades the Skorpion in favor of one of his own pistols, trying a more measured shot on the guard.

It's a good thing that no one here is apparently versed in Winter's old codewords....though maybe it'd be worth a laugh, at least. "Skye? Do we wanna steal this plane?" Is he serious?

Quake has posed:
Skye has to work fast - not only to get the info, but to disarm Zola's traps. They're kind of insidious, really. The kind that once triggered self-propogate until you are so overwhelmed by them that you can't get ahead and things shut down. If she's going to do this, she has to do it fast. Two obvious traps that, if disarmed, should mean no more problems. Should - she's not so cocky as to not look for more, but those will be the ones with the biggest triggers on them. And she's dealt with Zola before. Extensively. Both with and against, and now, further with working on the virus against him.

She wouldn't say it's a piece of cake, but if you had to hand pick your opponents, she could say she's in the same weight class.

While she waits for the code to accept her 'corrections' and put her through, Bucky's question comes through. "Uh.. why not?" Actually, that might solve a lot of problems. While Bucky and Nat decide how committed they are to the idea (between herself and Nat they can fly this sucker and keep the systems from seizing - or so she tells herself), Skye stirs up a few dust devils outside the opening to obfuscate vision and make her job a hella lot easier.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Skye's quake sets dust to stirring outside, and the Hydra reinforcements cough and shield their eyes, slowing thier approach to the plane.

Walsh turns swinging hard at Nat and Nat leaps nimbly out of the way. Walsh had power, but Nat had speed, and lifetimes of skill. The second punch is dodged, then a third, then when the fourth came, Nat grabs her, and using a modified Aikido throw, twists with it and hurls the invulnerable woman into one of the cryopods and kicks the door shut.

"Why not," she says of stealing the plane as she goes back to her glocks, adding covering fire to the dust storm outside. She keys comms, "Barton, we're in the plane, can you provide covering fire."

Bucky's shot drops the guard, cold leaving the scientist caught between the Winter Soldier and his own reinforcements.

The screen blinks with a yellow... processing... as the changes are input before it flashes to solid green and reads: Aceepted. The way to the nav data is clear, and using thatf hack as a model getting control of the rest of the plane should be doable.

Quake has posed:
Skye does two things from here: first, she nabs the data. She's not stupid - if things go tits up, they need a copy of the nav data to know where this plane has been and what they're looking for. The second, while still looking for traps - because only the truly cocky think they've disabled them all (and two? only two? phffft, she puts more than that to get into her own phone), Skye carefully starts transferring the systems away from Hydra's mainframe so that they can fly this puppy out of here.

In simplest terms, she's warming up the engines.

Winter Soldier has posed:
Which is when Bucky pounces on the poor scientist, all but scruffing him like a puppy. "Call them off," he says. Where did that knife come from? Who knows? But he's got a black blade at the base leader's throat. "Or I'll start taking off parts that you'll miss." Still with an eye to reinforcements....and this may not work, considering how disposable HYDRA agents tend to consider themselves.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Oh, there are definitely more than two traps. As Skye starts unhooking systems from the Hydra network she finds them. Little tense little tethers that if snapped will doubtlessly send alarms ringing through the network that someone is inside and where they are. Great news if someone wants to draw out Zola, less so if you want to sneak off with his jet. They'll need to be disarmed.

Nat takes a position by Bucky, covering him both Glocks extended.

The scientist, squirms in Bucky's grasp, looking to his men for aid, before finally shouting: "Stand down!"

There's a pause for just a moment before one of his men replies, lifting his weapon and firing a shot at his surrendering commander, even as Nat fires back cutting him down.

Quake has posed:
"Might want to bring our friend along for the ride," Skye says calmly as she continues to disengage things. She's hoping she's not missing anything, but that's kind of the risk you take sometimes. Besides, once Zola sees the remains after their theft, he'll know who was here - in fact, she's counting on it. It's going to be the last little twist of knife in his back to have all his eyes focused on her when she takes Samantha in. It will, as she told the girl, be mighty dangerous for her, but if Skye plays it right, she's the target. Zola will be livid enough that he'll disregard the presence of the other. Even if Skye has to make a feint at a computer to sell the story.

"Jesus, guys, could you take any more time? We all doing our hair? You both look pretty. Get the fuck in here and let's get the hell out of Dodge."

Winter Soldier has posed:
"Don't think paying me compliments will get me to put out, Johnson. I'm cheap but I ain't easy," Buck retorts, even as an upflung alloy hand has that bullet pinging off its palm. To the scientist, he observes, "You must not be well-liked in the office. What, 'd you not send flowers on Secretaries' Day?" A jerk of his head urges Nat towards the cockpit, even as he risks a hasty dart of metal fingers into the poor lab rat's mouth - making sure no cyanide tooth will deprive them of his company before its time.

Quake has posed:
"Not what I heard, Barnes," Skye snarks back, grinning, continuing to work at the controls.

Winter Soldier has posed:
"Don't believe everything you hear from Steven Rogers," he retorts. "Even with that innocent face..."

Quake has posed:
"Oh? Really? Doesn't seem the type to write on the girl's room stalls, but you never know..."

Meanwhile the data download continues on. She keeps at the trap unpicking.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The data download is complete and half the flight systems have been decoupled from the Hydra system when Skye detects parts of the system coming to life as new code, Zola's code begins to flood the system battling for control of the remaining networked systems.

The Scientist's reply to Bucky's comment is muffled by the hand thrust into his mouth and Nat, firing off a few shots hits the button to close the cargobay door, shooting the one soldier that rushes onboard before they close.

Outside there's the sound of gattling fire, as Barton finally spins up the quinjet's weapons to lay down surpressing fire, the archer's voice crackles over comms << Hey we pulling out of here or what? >>

For her part, Nat pops the clips on her pistols and reloads as she heads for the cockipt, "You ladies coming, or you going to stay down here gossiping about Steve," she asks with a ghost of a smirk on her lips.

Winter Soldier has posed:
Satisfied the scientist isn't carrying a poison tooth, Buck cuffs him hard enough to knock him out. "I wanna see their faces as we leave....and make sure no asshole there has an RPG up his sleeve," he retorts. That does seem to be a serious wish.

Quake has posed:
"Nice one Romanoff. I'm still working.." And she is. They won't get anywhere with the plane receiving instructions remotely. Leaving Skye with a Hail Mary of a move to try. The thing has to be getting a broadcast from somewhere, and while that might be out of her range, the plane isn't.. if she can match the frequency, she can blow the receptors. However, there's the small matter of holding it long enough and intensely enough to make it happen, and that has her a little bit worried.

"Might need help after I try something," Skye says, already mid try. She's beat back as much of the code as she can. If this works, Nat will have control of the cockpit. If not, they'll have to shoot their way out - sans her, most likely.

Skye focuses inward and concentrates on the vibrations around her until she hits the right one. She can tell because of the resonance of the console she's at. Her focus grows more intense, the young woman amping the magnitude of it up to reaches that will blow the receivers if it doesn't blow her first.

As she keeps on, a trickle of blood slips from her nose, and her balled fists begin to ache. Yeah.. this is going to hurt.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Nat makes her way to the cockpit and starts flipping switches. << We have our own ride, Clint, take off and provide cover fire >>

<<Oh god, you're stealing it aren't you... Right, taking off >>

The scientist hits the when Bucky cuffs him, he's out cold, leaving the plane in their hands except for the computers.

Though as Skye reaches out with her powers, the plane begins to rumble, then spark, as recievers pop, one after the other, other systems go too, close enough to the recievers to be vulnerable to the vibrations Skye's powers are putting out. There are pops and raining sparks, and smoke that stinks of ozone. The plane's radio dies, its intenral network fries, the terminal Skye is nearest to, sees cracks spread across the screen before it gives up entirely before bursting outwards.

In the end though, Zola is no longer in their system.

Winter Soldier has posed:
There's an irritated "Gyeaaaaah," from Buck, as the human hand, put down to his side, comes away red. "I was hit. 's not bad." Watching the electronics fry, he goes stumping up to make sure of Skye, hand still over the wound. "What're you doin' up there?"

Quake has posed:
The trouble with effort on this scale - especially something she's not done before - is that you're kinda hit and miss with how it effects you. Only a lot more hit and a little less miss here. The effort to carry the vibrations, match them, and then amplify them takes their toll, Skye managing to wipe at her nose and turn towards the plane before she passes out.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"I'm getting us out of here," Nat replies to Bucky's question.

The plane starts to move, the efforts of Hydra to stop them cut short by the plane's own defensive weapons and Clint's help from above.

As the plane rolls out of the hanger, Nat engages the vertical take-off engines, "Hope everyone's holding on to something," she calls as the plane begins to rise.

Winter Soldier has posed:
He can hold himself together - and the bitter irony in that, thanks, Zola, you created a little monster that'll keep trying to thwart you and all your works until he can't anymore - but Skye....no. Whatever she is, it's without the benefit of superscience. He's heading to her side. "Guys, Skye's down. She just overdid it. Anyone know how to treat this?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
<< Down? Down how? >> Clint calls over comms. Before his brain catches up. << Right. Overdid it, not sure, but we need to get her back to Simmons ASAP. She'll know what to do >>

Or at least that's his hope.

<< Setting course for New York, Clint lead the way, this thing doesn't have comms, you can tell everyone not to shoot us down >>

<< Roger that >> Clint replies over the team's own comms. << And Bucky, just do what you can for now. >>
