Synopsis: Jason and Kitty catch up on a number of superhero-related events
Cast of Characters: Shadowcat, Red Hood

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's message the night before was brief and to the point: "Sentinels attacking mutants outside Boston. Responding." About an hour later was the next update. "It's over. I'm safe. Love you."

Kitty had something in the City to take care in the City after, though there were more messages and phone calls exchanged. Finally now she makes it back to the brownstone. She pulls up in her car, climbing out and slinging a bag over one shoulder, while in the other she has a bag from Los Pollos Hermanos. Kitty heads up to the door, unlocking it and passing inside.

"Jason, I'm home," she calls out softly. She lets out a breath, slipping out of her shoes at the door and setting down the bag to be dealt with later. "God it feels go good be back home. So much going on," she calls before moving about to see where Jason is.

Red Hood has posed:
There's a sigh of breath as Jason calls out from inside. "I ordered pizza..." she didn't say anything about picking up supper after all. Okay, so when he said he ordered pizza, really that was code for 'I just spent the last hour trying to make a dinner because I was nervous, and now there's this nice romantic dinner set up of seared fish, asparaghus, and roasted potatos'.

Pausing when Kitty comes into the dining room, Jason pauses. "Uh. Hi." he manages, a chuff of a laugh. "I guess I should have asked, huh?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde comes around the corner and sees the food that is set out. The brunette's smile spreads across her face, growing into a beautiful thing that is shined at Jason. She takes a few steps to the fridge, unceremoniously tosses the bag of chicken inside with extra zest as if to make sure the chicken knows it is second-rate fare compared to the alternate.

"Nope, you never need ask," Kitty reminds Jason. She moves over to him then. "You're such a sight for sore eyes," she tells him, sliding her arms around him to hug him and then to give him a long, romantic kiss.

Red Hood has posed:
Returning the hug and kiss, Jason laughs as he preses his nose to Kitty's. "If I knew that going out and getting in trouble worked you up - well, you came to the right city." he says with a smirk as he gives her a warm squeeze. "Let's grab a bite to eat. I know you've been busy lately - I want to make sure you at least get something better than grease in a bag once a week."

Shadowcat has posed:
Normally Kitty would get cereal. The protein part of the grease in a bag is probably an upgrade over her fare before Jason was in her life. Though the magnificent dinner that he prepared for her is so much better than the other two options.

Kitty lingers in the hug for a few more moments before he lets her go. "Busy, I don't know that it even begins to cover it all," Kitty says with a little sigh. Her hand strays to Jason's back even as she moves over to the table with him. Like he were a touchstone which gives her strength and focus.

She takes a seat at the table, looking at the impressive spread. "Wow, this is just... thank you love. I think I needed this tonight," she tells him. And she's not just talking about the food, but the company as well. She moves her napkin to her lap and says, "There has been so much going on I should catch you up on," she agrees.

Red Hood has posed:
Settling down across from her, Jason chuckles, and then grins. "Well, this is shaping up to be a quiet night, so I thought it would be a good chance to catch up?" he asks her as he scootches the chair up. He's just about to start to eat, when he pauses. Perhaps, just perhaps, she's starting to have a better influence on him.

"Would you like to bless the meal?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty looks up, giving a soft smile with just a little surprise in it. "If you'd like," she tells him. She sometimes says a quiet prayer before but has not asked Jason to take part in it in the past. She reaches over to take his hand gently in hers before lowering her head and saying something in Hebrew, before then repeating it in English, "Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe. Who brings forth bread from the Earth. Who creates varieties of nourishment. Who creates the fruit of the ground, through Whose word everything comes into being."

Kitty looks back up, smiling and squeezing Jason's hand for a moment before letting it go so they can eat. She begins with a taste of the fish. "Delicious," she tells him once she's swallowed it. "Well, where to begin. There was an attack at the school," she says quietly. "We suddenly found ourselves in a illusionary reality. In an asylum, in different bodies. The one responsible tried to convince us we had been committed for crimes we committed. And to get Rogue and myself and one other to go peacefully as they transferred us to another facility in some vans. Well, one of the orderlies suddenly jabbed a syringe into the neck of the 'doctor' in charge. Which broke the illusion. There were robed figures from a cult, and the vans were portals to another dimension. Once it broke our powers returned and they fled through the portal. The one orderly who helped us... turned out to be Rogue's father. Who she hasn't seen in a decade. Her mother was taken by this cult, apparently. By someone who has his own pocket dimension. He has been trying to free her, was stuck in the other dimension. We are planning a rescue mission but our only window for getting there is later in the summer."

Red Hood has posed:
Holding her hand throughout the blessing, Jason remains quiet and focused on it, then nods. There's no amens, just an acknowledgement of the words, before his attention turns to the meal and discussion. As she talks about Rogue's father, he frowns. "How much did she know about her parents before this?" he asks curiously between bites. "You would think that she'd been approached when she was more well known as an Avenger." And then she mentions the rescue. "You plan to help." It's said simply, matter of fact.

Shadowcat has posed:
"They disappeared when she was younger. The enhanced person responsible preyed on their interest in Native American customs, living at harmony with the land. Abducted a big group. Thankfully Anna-Marie wasn't with them at the time," Kitty explains. "So she hasn't known what happened to her parents, just that they were gone. Turns out this villain has made Rogue's mother into his queen. His dimension has a whole small city that worships him. Though there is a resistance trying to overthrow them that we'll work with."

Kitty nods over to Jason. "Yes, whatever she needs from me. She's like a sister from another mother to me," Kitty says, and looking just a little emotional as she says it. "She's been spending time with her father in the meantime. With our telepaths having checked things out, it's easier to trust his story is true. And from what I can tell, she has been soaking up their time together," the Jewish girl says, adding a smile at the end. "You'd be welcome if you wanted to come when go into their dimension. They have supply runs every few months, and that's our window we're aiming for. Then try to make contact with the resistance, and overthrow the guy and free the people. Bring them back home."

Red Hood has posed:
"I'll see what I can do with the computers to help with the tracking - we may not get Batlevel access, but we'll do what we can." Jason offers as he listens to Kitty explaining things further, and then he smirks.

"Last time I tried that, I ended up naked in your room with a Sorcerer Supreme and the same Rogue finding out exactly what about your boyfriend holds your attention." he comments dryly.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's foot might or might not move beneath the table to punctuate Jason's final statement. "Well, hopefully you'll be more clothed for this dimension," his girlfriend tells Jason as she flashes a smile over to him.

Kitty eats some of the asparagus. "You did such an excellent job with this, Jason. Did Alfred teach you how to make this, or something you whipped up on your own?' she asks. She gets another bite and then leans back in her chair.

"So, what else. A have a good friend who is back in town. You and he have something in common. He died saving a friend. But was resurrected by... well that's a long story for another day. In any event, he'd been off getting his head right. I don't know if you'd be interested in meeting him? Not that you have to discuss, that, but... he is a good friend. Fantastic hacker. Better than me. I'd wager better than Barbara too. And I say that as the highest of praise, not as a slight towards Barbara. Her stuff is super-tight."

She stirs some of her fish around on the plate. "And there are developments with the Sentinels. With this cyborg from the future. And Janet Van Dyne was abducted and cloned by a Sentinel robot thing..." Kitty knows she's just scratching the surface there. Elaboration will need to be forthcoming still.

Red Hood has posed:
There's a grin as Kitty teases him - he knows what it is, but at the moment, he's listening to the conversation, especially about her 'friend'. His attention locks on that, as he frowns. "Sure.." though she can see it - through him really. Is that just a mote of jealousy? Perhaps.

"So were you working with Janet, or clone Janet?" he asks, confusion touching his features, as well as a frown. "Though if the Sentinels have advanced their tech that far..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde knows her boyfriend well by now. One could think it might be coincidence when she volunteers, "I was kind of wondering if my friend might get along well with Carrie. I might try to introduce them. It would be great if Carrie found something as wonderful as what we have together." The Jewish girl slides her hand over to squeeze Jason's hand as she smiles at him. The promise ring catches the light as her hand moves. She doesn't remove except when she has to like when going on a mission.

"Well, they broke into her penthouse, nabbed Janet and cloned her. The Avengers freed her and the clone but couldn't tell them apart for awhile. Eventually they did, and the clone managed to escape," Kitty says. "I've only worked with Janet. I didn't run into the clone until she showed up where the cyborg from the future is being held. Along with Sentinels. She tried to get to him. Trask wants the future cyborg. So I managed to take off one of the clone's arms, but the cyborg himself is who actually stopped her. Rogue and Thor and War Machine stopped the full-size Sentinels," Kitty says.

She gives the date of that. "But then a few days later, the Sentinels all massed north of the City and began heading there. It was in the news though they don't know the whole story. Well, the John Doe cyborg sent all but 6 away, and sent Trask a message to cease or there would be consequences. He kept 6 of the Sentinels at the Avengers facility to study. The cyborg doesn't know what he is, apparently. I think he's trying to figure himself out. But last I heard from Tony Stark, he started upgrading their programming."

Kitty sighs and shakes her head. "The Avengers were pursuing whether this cyborg could be won over. But the danger is too great now. I'm going to talk to them about interviewing him again, about his anti-mutant sentiments. It very likely could end with him attacking me. I'm going to have as many heavy hitters from my team and the Avengers on hand as possible. I just need to push the matter, get the Avengers to realize we need to shut him down permanently," she says, looking at Jason, a little worried how he will react to her plan to put herself in harm's way.

Red Hood has posed:
Letting out a breath of frustration, Jason knows he couldn't stop Kitty even if he wanted to. Not that he does. There's just a smirk and a shake of his head. "So when they decide to make the movie of your life, how small is my role going to be?" he asks her playfully. "I hope I at least rate a cameo."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde sets down her fork on her plate, and then wipes her lips with her napkin. She rises from her chair, walking over to Jason's chair. She slides it back from the table enough that she can settle down, straddling his lap facing him.

Kitty's fingers move up into the back of Jason's hair, teasing her fingertips through it and over his scalp as she looks into his eyes. "You're the most important thing in my life," she tells Jason. "/We/ are the most important thing in my life," Kitty amends. She leans her forehead down to rest against his own, their faces close. Intimately close, but lips not yet touching. "You know that, don't you? You mean the world to me," she tells him tenderly.
