Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller has stopped by and gotten Mercy's number and gave her his. A couple days later he called her, and asked her out for dinner. He suggested this Chinese place he saw that was not to far from her garage. The big man offered to meet her there so she had an out if she decided she did not want to come. He shows up about ten minutes early, dressed in a dress shirt and slacks he cleans up pretty well.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy steps into the Chinese eatery and looks around, she's agreed to dinner with Joseph, because...she's not dated in forever. So now the 'yote girl thinks she's due a date. This place fits her style, and she's come dressed in jeans, a plain t-shirt and tennis shoes. Casual for the date....and she's considering it a date. Striding in, Mercy looks relaxed and ready to enjoy herself, finding Joseph she walks over and smiles. "Hey Joseph. I come here a few times a month, they do good food" she says and nods, untying her hair. After that she walks in and gets shown to a table, taking a seat and relaxing more.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller will actually pull the chair out for her at the table, and says "Good to hear, I was hoping it would be good, been trying a few different places here in town, and have found a few decent, and a few not so much. He will have a seat, and ask "So, you from around here originaly?

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head. "No. My family's from the Northwest. My mother was a rodeo groupie who got involved with a Blackfoot bull rider. Well, involved enough to get pregnant with me that is" Mercy points out. "Grew up in Montana and went to school in Oregon, came east, bought the garage from my former boss. That's the short version of my life" Mercy says and looks like she's hiding something for a moment. "Though, I had a teaching job lined up. Ditched it" she adds and studies a menu, peering at it carefully. "So aside from here, where else did you look at? There's a Japanese place on the Upper East Side that looked okay but I gave up on it. There's a few coffee shops near my garage and of course, this place. I stick close to home, if you don't pick up on it" Mercy says with a laugh. "

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller smiles and does seem to listen to her, and says "Tried a pizza place that was pretty good. I know everyone always talks about how good New York pizza is, and It is pretty good but I like a bit thicker crust. " He will offer her a smile "I'm from the middle of the country, but I think I like it out here. "Why did you give up on teaching, and what did you teach?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods and laughs. "Oh sure, is it that one over on Tenth?" Mercy assks. "The one that's on the radio all the time, with a catchy jingle?" Mercy asks then listens more. "Middle of the country huh? Well" Mercy says and writes down her order and slides it over to Joseph. "I'll take the spring rolls and I'll take duck and pancakes" Mercy says with a nod, relaxing more.

Joseph Miller will put his order in getting an order of terrioki beef, and beef and broccoli. He will smile and says "Angelos over in Brookyn," He will tell her, and puts their order in. "So, you liking the city? how long you been here?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy smiles. "A long while" Mercy says with a nod as Joseph gets up to put the order in. "It's different. I'm used to wide open areas and mountains, and.....ya know, not city" Mercy says looking amused with sarcasm on her tongue. At the mention of Angelo's, Mercy laughs. "Yeah I ish they'd deliver here, ya know? I tried once, it cost $60 for a pizza" Mercy huffs a little.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller winces a bit at that as he sits back down, and nods to this "Yea, I grew up on a farm, so can relate a bit, but I will admit, I like it better than London." He says of New York. "Be it ever so dangerous there is no place like a new home."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I hear you" Mercy nods, "So, farmhand then huh in the Midwest. Let me guess, corn and corn and more corn and oh look there's a cow, hey what do you know....more corn?" Mercy asks with a nod. "Hey, I grew up in Montana. Swap corn with mountains and that's where I grew up pretty much" she nods. "Yeah, $60 for a pizza. What's up with that anyhow?" she adds with a weary sigh.

Joseph Miller chuckles and says "They got people who will pay it, and who aint like us, and think 20 bucks for a dominos is about the max I am going to do for a delivery.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy Thompson looks unimpressed at the idea of....$20 pizza, really....as she sighs. "Hey for somebody on my budget that's a lot, you know. I make ends meet but....don't have a lot to spare. Pizza's a luxury" Mercy sighs,"Still I love what I do. I never got the teaching job. I simply got into fixing cars beforehand. I doubt I'd be a good teacher either" she shrugs looking amused at the idea of her, a teacher.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller says, "Hey I agree, I am working two jobs since I got here in town, It makes end meet but aint a lot of funds to just decide I want to spend something like that." He will smile at her and says "I don't know you were offering to teach me recently."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods, "Yeah I was. That offer's still on the table, though it'll take time" Mercy explains and looks thoughtful, waiting on their food. "Though it's not easy being a mechanic. Trust me, you'll learn to hate bolts and wrenches before you're done" Mercy nods sagely.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller smiles and says "I might take ya up on it, I built my bike, but that was more working on one specific task. I could use learning a bit more, but might have an issue getting my hands in specific places, but I can lift an engine out with one hand.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks over and shakes her head. "I doubt you can get your hands in tight places" Mercy says and looks over. "It's like this. Being a female is useful, my hands are smaller, I can get them into places a man can't" Mercy nods aand smiles. "

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller nods his head a bit to that, and says "True, we both have our advantages working on them, I am pretty sure I will never meet a bolt I can't turn but gotta make sure not to go to far with them. " He smiles, and says "So, what do you do for fun?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks amused, "I like to run, really. I work out, I lift weights, I take shi she kai kan lessons. Which is an odd form of karate. My sensei refers to it as 'reach out and break somebody' karate" Mercy says with a smile. "Careful, you'u may overdo the bolts though" Mercy warns with a nod. "If you get to the point where you're one handed lifting Wasserboxer engines out of Vanagons...." Mercy trails off as her drink arrives and she sips her herbal tea. "No words" Mercy nods.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller nods his head a bit to this and says "Have to show me some of your moves sometime. I am trying to learn a bit more proper fighting styles instead of my more grab them and pummel them. " He smiles and says "I can probably one hand lift the Vanagon."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy laughs and raises her herbal tea, "You want to learn she shi kai kan?" she asks with a look. "Sensei's not the easiest on beginners" she warns and grins. "How about we go over to the dojo after we get dinner"

That may be a plan, at least in the 'yote's head. Mercy is always up for karate lessons....as she sips her tea. "So tel me about yourself, farmhand" Mercy says with a curious look in her eyes.

Joseph Miller hmms and says "What would ya like to know? I have traveled around America a bit, ended up in a European superhero group but it had some issues and fell apart.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy closes her eyes for a moment. "Anything you'd like" Mercy offers, already figuring out the time it'd take to get to the dojo, then back home. Not worth it unless Joseph drives. In which case....Mercy may well not like it all the way there.

"Anything you'd like to tell me, Joseph" Mercy nods and stares into her herbal tea for a moment.

Joseph Miller hmms, and says "Well you mean besides that fact, I think you are a very lovely lady?" He asks and grins at her "Well, I am hoping that I might get a chance to work with the Avengers more than I have.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods, "Hopefully you'll get there" she says and sips her tea again, "I'm looking forward to the food though" Mercy admits then sits back in the chair.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller nods, to her, and as the food comes he will smile "So, what are you wanting to to do over the next few years?

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy takes a fork and looks over, then digs the fork into her food and twirled her fork. "So....what do I want to do over the next few years?" she asks, pausing with her fork in mid air. "Let's see....probably just keep my life normal, fix cars, run, work out, you know, the normal stuff" Mercy nods then looks pleased, digging into her food. She's not thinking it's odd they gave her a fork for her food, really. Instead she sips at her tea and looks pleased. "I'd rather just, you know, keep my head down and stuff"

Joseph Miller hmmms and nods his head a bit to this and says "Nothing in particular that has your attention Maybe win a car show with this vanagon?

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"My Vanagon's not a show van, i use it for work and going out camping" Mercy points out with a smile. "It's old but it does the job. Works fine" Mercy says. "Though if I was gonna get a car to show it off, it'd be something like a Jetta or a Rabbit" she explains, "They're easier to find and a lot, lot simpler to work on"

Joseph Miller smiles and says "Yea, don't see me in either of those, part of the reason I got into bikes, was the whole head and leg room.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head. "You could just get a convertibee" she points out with a knowing nod. "Pull the roof down. Problem." she says taking a bite of food. "Solved!"

Joseph Miller smirks and says "Ok, that works for head room, but you want me driving from the back seat? Have you seen Police Academy one?

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Classic movie" Mercy nods with a wide grin, "The rest of the series too" she nods and laughs. "So what movies are you into?" she adds and carries on twirling her fork.

Joseph Miller hmms and says "Mostly comedies and action flicks, but an occasional good drama works to. I think one of my favorites is probably tucker and dale vs evil

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head. "Not on the same page. I just watch whatever's on TV" she admits with a shrug. "Boring. I know" she sighs.

Joseph Miller smiles and says "With traveling around, I just went with netflix, but with it you have to pick something.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy raises an eyebrow. "That assumes you know what you want to watch though. Not always a good thing. Some of the best films rare the ones you watch by mistake" Mercy says and looks like she's seen a few films when she was younger she probably shouldn't have....but....really, she's got a point. "Besides, no internet in my Vanagon. You can't pick up wifi when you're out in the middle of nowhere, right?" Mercy asks with a knowing look. She's been camping way too many times. "I mean, I could use my phone but I like not burning through my data. Then again" she adds loading up her fork with enough food. "Then again....I'm not really a big movie woman though. I just get home, turn on the TV, get food, sleep" Mercy admits. Her life isn't action a minute. And she likes it that way

Joseph Miller nods, and says "I can understand that, sometimes, I do that, more often than not I am out walking or such. So your a fan of camping? Gotta admit I don't do it that much any more, more likely when I was traveling a lot. And there are times when a movie on netflix seems interesting so you check it out. And sounds like you spend a decent time in the gym also.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks amused. "Camping's fun. Take the Vanagon out there and live out of it for a few days.Works as an escape from the city" she adds. "Drive somewhere where I feel is good, and there you go. No tent to fight with or campers to argue with...she's a stubborn 'yote after all. "I tried Netflix out, nothing really grabbed my attention" she says apologetically. "Though I may just end up watching movies on the couch though. It's nicer than hooking cables down to my office then messing with my computer" she points out. "Though, that thing needs somework" Mercy shrugs.

Joseph Miller nods, and says "So, not someone for netflix and chill? " He grins joking a bit with her, and says "I don't do a lot with computers myself, I got one of those little boxes hooks up to the Tv. So, how long you been into the martial arts?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy gives Joseph a dark look, "You try that and I'll put your groin in a vice and squeeze it" Mercy says...and she's not even half joking. "Still, computers are like this. Turn on, click around, turn off. Simple" Mercy nods and sets her fork down and looks amused."Been into karate for a good long while" Mercy explains, wiping at her mouth with a napkin. "It's good for just keeping yourself balanced, really" she adds and shakes her head. "Sensei's trouble though"

Joseph Miller 's brow raises a bit and says "Try that? Netflix and chill is when two people just hook up, I don't think there is a try that. Not ment to piss ya off was a joke. Trust me, your not going to find anyone else who is going to make sure he lady wants it more than me before anything happens. " He changes to the the last bit and asks "why he or she trouble/

Mercy Thompson has posed:
=Mercy shakes her head. "Good. Seen way too many people go on dates, get it on, then get in trouble down the road. Oh so that's what it means. I'd not heard of it...if you can believe that one" she says sounding honest. "Sensei's trouble because he teaches the effective, reach out, break someone karate. That's why" Mercy points out, chewing on her duck once she's finishedd speaking.

Joseph Miller hmms and nods his head a bit to this and says "Well no worries with me there. You interested in going farther, I am good with it, may even joke a bit about it, but if your not good there too. I need to find one that teaches ya how to get your hands on folks more I think

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods, "I'll talk to Sensei when I'm there next. But as for going further? I don't know. I mean, I enjoy your company, but I don't think this place is right for a date, really" Mercy says. "The food's good, but there's something about it I can't quite put my finger on. But yes. I wouldn't mind having a meal with you again" Mercy points out with a knowing nod.

Joseph Miller nods, and says "So we will have to find a nice place for the next date,, so 60 dollar pizza or something else you enjoy?" He will grin at her.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy gives him a long look at $60 pizza. "You really think going to Angelos is a good idea? Hey, if it works" Mercy says as her phone rings, "Yeah? No I'm.....uh huh, When? Why? And what were you doing with a lit match?" she asks into her phone, "Have it brought to my garage and I'll see what I can do" she sighs, and looks annoyed as she hangs up. "Stupid people liking to check gas tanks with matches. I gotta get going, I need to see how much of a burned up Jetta I can save" Mercy says apologetically and shakes her head at her phone.

Joseph Miller nods, and says "Well, i will see if I can find another place, I was thinking you might have a suggestion." He offers. "Don't let them drive you too insane, and if you need help with something just give me a hollar."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head. "I'm already not quite sane, I see ghosts, I was raised by werewolves" Mercy says as she gets up and goes around the table to hug Joseph, "Thanks" she smiles

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller will stand and hug her back, and rubs her back, not sure if she is serious in this word of oddness. "Well, even so you need me, call." He tells her.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods and slips out of Joseph's hug. "I will, I'll make sure of it" Mercy says then laughs. "Thanks again" she says and heads for the door, slipping out of the restraunt. There's the sound of her Rabbit starting up.....and she's driven off
