Cast of Characters: Marvel Girl, Haytham Nazari

Marvel Girl has posed:
Things have been tense for mutants lately. With Sentinels in the skies and the police unclear about who is and isn't helping, many mutants are worried for their safety. It means that it's relatively quiet at the club tonight, with more people choosing to stay home. But it also means Rachel's come out - half to enjoy herself, but half to keep an eye on the place, just in case more Sentinels show up.

She's found a seat in the lounge area where she can watch over most of the place, sipping on a glass of something dark and scrolling through her phone now and then. Like every other teenager in the world, at least.

Haytham Nazari has posed:
Haytham Nazari was one of the few 'regular human' joes who understood and supported mutants. Many a time has he been seen giving what medical supplies he can to mutants who have nothing. Be it from something as small as over the counter stuff like Tylenol to procuring bandages and painkillers.

This has let him become a welcome face in Mutant Town, despite not being a mutant himself, and mild access to their facilities. Like Club Evolution.

He wears simple clothes. A loose white shirt with blue jeans and tenneshoes, and he seems to have his hands in his pockets when he ends in the lounge area, though it might be his first time up in this specific one, as he seems to be a little more curious about whats what and who's where.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel glances up from her phone as someone else comes into the area, measuring the new arrival for potential threat. While it may be rude to pry with her mind, she doesn't seem to have any problem with at least a cursory surface scan for intent. Finding nothing that says trouble, though, she manages a faint smile.

"Not much to see here tonight," she says. Even the music is relatively quiet tonight, the usual band replaced with a low-level DJ. "Lot of people staying home where it's safe."

Haytham Nazari has posed:
Haytham turns his attention to Rachel as she speaks to him, and while its very true she would find no danger in his thoughts, there's still probably a small air of mystery about him. "I noticed its a little bit on the quiet side tonight." he replies to her, and he approaches. "Is that a new DJ? I want to say it is but...I feel like I'm not here enough to really be able to say."

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel leans up enough to get a glimpse of the DJ behind the turntable, considering a moment. "Could be," she answers, settling back down into her chair. "I'm pretty sure he's not a big enough deal to be recognized as new or not." She takes a sip of her drink, following it up with a rueful smile. "People are nervous," she explains. "Seems like every other day there's news about Sentinels showing up somewhere, and Trask insisting that he's not doing it."

Haytham Nazari has posed:
Haytham gives a gentle nod of his head to Rachel as he perhaps takes his seat beside her, though unlike her, he's without a drink. "I understand. I wish the Sentinels didn't even exist...don't see a need for them except for a businessman's hatred turning latent fear into material." he shakes his head for a moment. "But...I'm Haytham. Haytham Nazari." he offers his hand to Rachel for a handshake, if she would like.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Don't we all," Rachel snorts softly, tucking her phone away. She hesitates for a moment, then reaches out to take the offered hand in a quick, firm grip. "Rachel," she introduces herself in turn. "Nice to meet you. And yeah, Sentinels are a massive dick move, with literally no purpose other than targetting one specific portion of the population. I mean, if they came up with robots that specifically told blondes not to commit crimes and shaved their heads bald as a preventative measure, people would be pretty againts it, right?"

Haytham Nazari has posed:
Haytham looks at Rachel as she shakes his hand nice and firm, before he nods. "Pleasure to meet you, Rachel." he retracts his hand and settles it in his lap. "Yeah...you know, people fear what they don't understand, and many are still calling mutants the 'next stage', but normal people don't want a 'next stage'." he shrugs his shoulders. "I just hate that its happening."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"What they don't understand, or what they can't beat?" Rachel arches a brow, taking a drink. "Sometimes it seems to me like it's not so much about understanding as it is about fear. Which makes it hard, because you can teach understanding. But fear's a lot harder to shake out of people."

She shifts, taking another look around the club, searching. Seems like she knows a thing or two about fear. "Anyhow. Sorry. Kind of a one-track mind these days. What brings you out here?"

Haytham Nazari has posed:
Chuckling a little bit, Haytham gives Rachel a small nod. "Its fine. It happens, you know?" he gives a little shrug. "Oh, was just hoping to relax. Just got done with a medical course for college, so...here to celebrate, listen to good music, drink a good drink. Like a wine or a beer." he chuckles. "What about you?"

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Less celebrating, more standing guard," Rachel admits with a wry twist of her lips. "I'm less afraid of Sentinels showing up while I'm here than I am of them showing up and me or someone else not being here to do anything about it. Most mutants aren't dangerous. Or even trained," she shrugs, looking around. "Makes them easy targets for bigots."

Presumbly, neither of those things is the case for her though.

"Medical course, huh?" she asks, nudging the subject away. "What kind?"

Haytham Nazari has posed:
"Fair enough."

Though as she shifts topics, he nods and gives a light smile. "Well, currently a bit of everything. But I'm hoping to get into either the Radiology or Dermatology fields." he smiles wide, looking rather proud of himself at the moment. "I really want to help people. All people. mutant people, regular people, enhanced people...everyone."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"That's...x-rays and skin, right?" Rachel's education - despite her origins - is a little bit spotty. But hey, she's trying. "X-rays seem like they'd be pretty universal. Though I'm betting skin doctors are going to have a whole lot to add to their classes," she says, amused, as she watches a mutant across the room with lizard-like scales. "I guess that means it'll stay interesting with new things to learn though."

Haytham Nazari has posed:
"Yes ma'am." Haytham seems to nod a little bit. "True. if you get into Radiology, you're essentially helping out a LOT of people by being in a field where a LOT of things can be found out. I'm really leaning towards Radiology, if I'm being honest." he shrugs.

"But thats why I love medicine. Its constantly changing and its constantly being improved."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Well, it's nice to meet someone who's at least thinking about something other than how awful people are." Rachel smiles faintly, finishing her drink. "Good luck with the med school thing. Can always use more good doctors out there." Her phone buzzes then, and she frowns slightly as she pulls it out to take a look. "And it looks like I've got to get going. But hey, stick around. Maybe if nothing blows up, someone decent will start playing music again," she winks as she stands. "Nice meeting you, doc."

Haytham Nazari has posed:
Haytham gives a smile to Rachel as she wishes him luck and announces her departure. "It was nice meeting you Rachel. Hope to see you around." he gives a bow of his head and a friendly wave.
