Cast of Characters: Spoiler, Wonder Woman

Spoiler has posed:
Batman had reached out to Diana to see if she might be interested in meeting with one of his proteges. A girl of twenty, he'd said, who had donned a costume to stop her own career-criminal father, and who had been getting groomed by Batman and his cohorts.

No doubt there were any number of psychological benefits expected to come from Stephanie meeting the famous Amazonian heroine. Though Batman had suggested an introduction to aerial vehicles might be appropriate as Stephanie had never even been in an airplane before. "If she comes away with a respect for the physical needs of combat flying, it wouldn't be a terrible thing," had been some of his words.

Of course Stephanie Brown wasn't privy to those details. Just told to go to the Themysciran Embassy at the appropriate time, to meet with Wonder Woman and perhaps go up in one of her aircraft. The blond college student got to the area of the Embassy two hours early and had to find somewhere to pass the time, impatiently tapping her feet and hands, checking her phone, and anything else to distract herself.

Time CRAWLED.

But finally the time of the appointment neared and Stephanie, dressed nicely and pants and blouse, hurried across the street and to the door of the embassy. She smiled at the Amazonians, on guard, saying, "I have a meeting with Diana Prince." The comment just get a stare back and a quiet nod of the head towards the doorway. Stephanie passes in through the doors. "So need to practice looking that stern in the mirror," she tells herself as she goes over to the receptionist, giving her name and the time of her meeting with Miss Prince.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Stephanie was lead through the Embassy by the other women of the Amazons that are stationed at the Embassy today. It didn't take too long to get up through the building to its roof where Diana was waiting.

Diana is stepping off of the invisible jet, which is not entirely invisible at all right now. In fact its very visible. Its a pale gray hue, like a winter cloud in the sky--though it is very slightly translucent allowing the horizon of the city behind the jet to be softly visible through its spike-like shape. Its a long craft, like the X-Men's blackbird, but it lacks any wings and looks more like the head of an arrow or a dart, elongated, with an aft boarding ramp that leads up inside of where the Princess is disembarking.

She's wearing a dark blue robe with her armor visibly on beneath it, the interior lining of her robe looks to be a deep dark golden material as it waves about her form when she moves and allows itself to be visible.

"Stephanie?" Diana asks as she steps toward the young girl, at over 6'0" in height with her armored boots on. She smiles to the young Stephanie. "It is a pleasure to meet you." She says in a thick non-American accented voice.

Spoiler has posed:
The blond girl who approaches is a half foot shorter even without the boots to account for. Sky blue eyes are lit up, flitting about from airplane to Princess and back as if not sure where to look. She quickly decides on Diana, of course. "Oh my god yes, it's so nice to meet you," Stephanie says with exuberance. She's not bouncing, but she looks like she wants to be bouncing.

Really though she's trying to show some decorum, but her face just can't contain how happy she is to meet a real superhero. Whew. Glad she didn't say that one out loud. A hero with /powers/ that is.

"Yes, Stephanie Brown," she says more calmly, though her eyes still wide and bright. "Batman told me about this and I thought he was kidding me," she say, grinning. "Thank you so much for taking the time for me."

Her eyes go back to the airplane then. "Wow, it isn't at all what I expected. It doesn't need wings? Or are they going to fold out of it or something?" she asks curiously, looking down the plane's length.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana holds her smile to Stephanie's excited look, it amuses her to see it even if it is a look she does see fairly often in people that she meets, especially in young women. A dip of her head is given to Stephanie though. "I am glad to get this chance to meet with you, our mutual... friend, does not often reach out for favors. I am happy to help when he does."

A look is then given back to the jet that isn't even landed on the roof, its silently hovering above it, no sign of landing gear or anything tradition beneath it beyond the slightly-invisible landing ramp that leads up inside of it.

"It is technology that is not of this world." Diana explains. "Please. Come aboard." She motions to the ramp to let Steph go first. As they walk to board it she elaborates. "The original version of this Jet was technology developed by Howard Stark. He had made a one-seat jet for the American military in the 1960s, but decided he did not wish them to have it in the end, feeling it was too much for them. So... he gave it to me instead." Diana shows a quick smile then again.

"I used it for many years, before I had mastered the ability of flying without the aide of an air craft. But now... I have this, and it was a gift from another culture. A very kind gift." Diana says as they ascend the ramp up into the interior of the jet that is a pale white and has visible furniture built inside of it as though it was all seamless and moulded out of a cloud. "This technology can take on the shape of whatever I choose it to, though it can only produce so much mass and thusly only so large of a construct. I've found that this... is the best use for it. A transport, to help people with."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie was so excited by seeing Wonder Woman that it isn't until she's looking the plane over more closely that she notices the floating. She reaches a foot slowly beneath the plane waving it back and forth, perhaps feeling for invisible landing gear. Or something that might explain how it is hovering there.

"Wow. Not of this world?" she asks, shaking her head. "This is completely blowing my mind. I thought... our friend's stuff was amazing," she says as she follows Diana up the ramp. "And, I mean it is, but... this is a long way from where I grew up," the college student says, reaching up to feel the top of the plane as they reach the entrance.

The inside is even better. Stephanie touches one of the chairs to see what it feels like. "If I bombard you questions..." she starts to say, before repeating her words, "If. Like there's any chance I'm /not/ going to bombard you with questions," Stepanie says to herself comically. "Well, if it annoys you, just let me know, please, and I'll stop," she says, giving Diana a small, self-deprecating smile. "So what makes it float like this? Is it anti-gravity or something more... Earthlike?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana shows light amusement at Stephanie's excitement toward the strange alien tech powered jet construct. She feels much the same about it, even if it doesn't really show in quite the same physical manifestation as it does within the college aged young woman. When Stephanie touches the hull of the cloud hued ship, it'll feel like a cool textured metallic surface, but once inside and touching the same looking surface but in the form of one of the chairs within the lounge area of the ship's interior, it'll feel soft like a true cushion should, yet shows no signs of a seam or any shift in visibly different areas. The ship just knows what its locations should feel like.

"I do not mind questions." Diana says then as she moves toward the front but pauses so Stephanie can acclimate herself to the new environment, even the air is cooler inside of the ship compared to the summer atmosphere outside of it. Diana's eyes briefly look about herself. "I will even answer as many as I am able, but... I did not design this..." She looks back to Stephanie and shows her a sly grin. "So there's only so many answers I can give."

Diana will turn back toward the front of the ship where there is a noticeable 'hatch' or 'doorway' that leads into the control cabin where there are two pilot's chairs in front of the craft's windows and a holographically displayed control board to operate the ship from.

"It... displaces itself from gravity. It creates a bubble around it, and can use that bubble to increase the gravity in that direction, which takes the ship in said direction. Imagine if you set a ball down upon your bed's mattress, and then pressed your hand down beside it, the ball would move toward your hand. This is how the vehicle propels itself. It applies pressure to the gravity space around it, and draws it toward it."

"What Batman has created is impressive for the technological evolution of mankind on Earth... but the creators of this." She glances around them again. "This is their own developmental path through their science, as many species in space evolve along their own different routes of discovering how... things work."

A look is given back to Steph then and Diana grins to her. "They were impressed with Earth food, for example. It was apparently much... more flavorful than their own."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie Brown wanders about the interior of the jet, not shy about looking at things. Yet there is also a noticeable respect being given to everything. It merely took know anything she might do would reflect on Bruce to have Stephanie on good behavior. It had been a long road but finally she'd gotten out of his doghouse over the interview she'd done.

But Diana Prince has such a presence, Stephanie would probably behave the same even without worries of making Bruce look bad. She follows along towards the control cabin, mouth hanging open at the holographic controls. "Get out," she says as she sees them.

"So you've met the aliens then? Where are they from? What were they doing... I assume they came here if Howard Stark built a ship based on their technology?" Stephanie asks.

The explanation is met with looks of trying to follow along. "Ok I feel like this is an Einstein thing. Though I admit I'm not the best at science. I'm getting a lot of tutoring in chemistry. It seems to be useful for the kind of work I'm doing," she says. "But that's been a bit of a struggle."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana stands behind the pilot's chair on the left and places her hands on the back of it. The sun is in its late afternoon position in in the sky and though the jet is partially (but not entirely) translucent its ray beams are able to soak through and keep the cabin of the jet well lit and feeling quite comfortably warm.

"No no, what Howard Stark built was entirely independent of this technology. He created his own invisibility technology through the use of very tiny cameras built into the hull of the original jet. That jet." Diana explains. "Is now resting peacefully in a cavern on Themyscira. It served its days well."

She looks back then to the front of the jet. "This came from the Lansinarian people. They had a vessel from their world crash upon ours, in Antarctica... I went to investigate the situation and found them under attack by enemies of their planet that had trailed them to our solar system, damaged their ship and caused it to crash upon Earth. Their goal was to assassinate the Princess of the Lansinarian people... I did not allow this to happen."

Diana's hands raise up then just a little to motion around them. "So this was a gift, a thank you for my efforts in protecting their people and their Princess. It can take the shape of... many things. It is bound to my psyche and I to it's." Diana shows a slight grin to Stephanie then. "I have even used it as a motorcycle before. Now that is very fun, if you like speed."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie is a rapt audience for the explanation. She motions to the co-pilot's seat, to make sure it is ok for her to sit there. If allowed she'll take a seat, looking around with interest but touching nothing.

"Wow," she says, giving a sigh. The simple girl from humble origins is clearly a bit overwhelmed by everything she is seeing. "I'm glad you were able to help them. I can't even imagine how scary it would be to crash on an alien planet. I mean they wouldn't have had any idea whether we could be trusted or anything," she comments.

Stephanie turns in the seat to face Wonder Woman more directly. Her blue eyes light up brilliantly. "Oh, I love motorcycles. I have a little broke down Honda that real motorcycle owners would probably be offended to hear I refer to it as one. But Nightwing, his bike? And some of the others? Wow. I can't even image what you could do on this one then if you didn't even have to obey gravity. Drive up walls? Jump anything you wanted?" she grins warmly and rests her hands in her lap rather than risking accidentally touching something.

"I'm curious, I know you've been here for quite awhile. But what do you think of our world. Or, I mean, the country and our civilization and all? I read up everything I could find on Themyscira. It sounds like a bit of a Paradise to me, compared to the worst part of Gotham."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana doesn't hesitate to let Steph sit in the co pilot's chair. She moves around the pilot's chair and joins her at the forward controls. Behind them at the aft of the ship the boarding ramp just 'fades' up into the back of the vessel and creates a new bulkhead, sealing the ship up.

The princess is grinning at Stephanie's exuberant words as she smooths her robe out enough in her seat to not restrain her motions and then before them both two sets of controls form before them.

"I have been amongst the 'world of men' for over a century now." Diana starts to answer the last questions presented to her then. "I have personally watched that world change drastically and dramatically in that span of time, and mostly entirely for the better..." Diana swipes a hand across one of the control screens and it shows the exterior of the ship as though there was a camera about 20 meters behind it now, hovering above it to give a perfect view of whats around the aft, port and starboard sides of the craft.

Diana looks over to Stephanie then. "I believe that the Earth is, now today, in a better place than it ever has been before in all of human history. But that is not to say it does not have a long way to go yet still..." She shows a hint of a grin and then nods toward the controls before Stephanie.

"Use your thumb to manipulate the craft upward and downward, then lean the controls forward and backward to manage thrust. Tilt left to right to control direction. Do not worry, the ship does not move like a conventional air craft. It is not affected by the Earth's gravity, nor its atmosphere. It will feel more like... sliding on ice and it will not let you crash the vehicle without my mental permission."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie hangs on Diana's descriptions of how she sees the world of men - don't even get her started on that moniker! - having progressed. "Funny, every generation seems to think things are worse off than they had it. Though I suppose some of that is probably just not liking seeing things change from what they were used to," she says.

"But it's good to hear, someone who has that perspective on it thinks so," Stephanie says with a smile towards the beautiful Amazonian.

Stephanie's eyes widen a little bit when Diana begins explaining the controls. "Really, you're going to let me fly her?" Stephanie asks. Blue eyes still wide she looks about the controls pointing to each to make sure she has them right. She confirms which way goes up and which way down, and that left goes left instead it being like a ship's tiller. Or a video game with a sadistic maker.

"Oh wow. Ok, so... up first..." she says, looking out the window and at the backup camera. The latter gets a pleased grin. She checks above them and then has the plane start rising. Really really slow at first, but then she accelerates it a bit and then starts the plane forward.

"Oh wow... see I'm not sure if this would be fun as a motorcycle or not, it's almost /too/ smooth!" she says exuberantly.

Once they are above the buildings Stephanie pushes the throttle forward and the plane really starts to move. "So, does she have a name?" Stephanie asks of the plane.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"Well, the motorcycle is capable of having treaded tires that would give you tactile feedback of course." Diana says on the subject of the bicycle version being too slippery on the ground to use. "Unless you wanted it to be purely a ground hovering design... which I have not tried, admittedly."

Wonder Woman's never been much of a thrill seeker. She loves a good adrenaline rush, but her ideal moments are much more simplistic in nature and just enjoying a good sunset or a sunrise. She'll go fast now and then in her own flight or driving for a bit uf fun though. Watching Stephanie get accustomed to the controls of the Jet is fun as well, just as it has been watching her Sisters sit here and do the very same--that has resulted in quite a lot of amused Amazon women here in this control cabin. Women who'd never been exposed to this kind of vehicle before.

"The average human lifespan is somewhere just below 100 years." Diana then says as she observes Stephanie manipulating the jet over Manhattan, and the vehicle is currently in a silent mode so as not to disturb the populace below, its also faded away outside and is entirely invisible now. "And I think that once a person's youth leaves them, and the physical act of moving becomes harder and harder, it makes a person view the world in a more negative light, to have their youth fade away... But... I am probably not someone one who has aged, would like to hear dissect aging." She shows a sly grin then for a moment, due to her own aging having stopped at a prime age of somewhere around twenty five or thirty biological years.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie, from the way she's piloting the invisible plane, is more likely a daredevil. She whooshes it around in steep turns, and then steeper turns, seeing just what it'll do. And the lack of inertia makes it all so easy to take.

"Well, if you have one of those fountains of youth or the holy grail or something to slow down the aging, I wouldn't mind hanging onto youth for a little longer," she says. She mutters to herself under her breath, "Finally found a good guy for a change. Last thing I want is to get old and homely already." It wasn't meant for Diana to hear, especially in the tone it was said, less humor and more worry than anything, but then the Amazonian's blessing made it easy to pick up.

Stephanie turns the plane back towards Manhattan after tooling along the length of Long Island and back. "This really is so amazing. I mean I realize I'll probably never get a chance to even see this again, let alone be in it or fly it. But... it just... makes my mind like..." Stephanie indicates her mind blowing out. Or, no. Expanding out. "Just makes me think outside of what I usually have," she says.

Probably part of what Batman sent her for.
